1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment involves being realistic, doesn't it ? on: March 29, 2023, 12:43:19 PM
Trading and investing are also psychological. Our emotions are involved especially when dealing with the amounts that we cannot afford to lose. Experience can help but not 100%. After many years of trading and investing, I became less emotional although I believe it really depends on the amount we are dealing with.

Newbies on the other hand will have more difficulty dealing with emotions. For example, a few weeks ago bitcoin dropped to $19k but then after a few days, it went back to $24k. Most newbies probably became itchy to cash out their profits without knowing that it will increase further to $28k in the following days. Nonetheless, it is important to be content with every profit and hold no regrets. Just focus on the next ones. As for me, I will only sell a portion once bitcoin touches $100k.
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 29, 2023, 12:19:46 PM
Buying cheap is obviously the formula to gain profit and value, not just in bitcoin but in everything in the market. The question is, how cheap is cheap to you? How confident are you to catch the dip? The best way to do this is thru cost averaging. After years of experience in trading and investing, I realized that it is mission impossible to catch the dippest and the highest prices. So we should be more contented with every gain we have no matter the amount.

I am into DCA on bitcoin and so far so good. And if ever it will go down just like last year, it doesn't matter because I can buy cheaper and it helps my purchase cost a little lower.
1583  Economy / Economics / Re: Money hardly come this days! Why? on: March 29, 2023, 11:59:35 AM
Indeed. These are very challenging times for us, especially on the financial side. From the COVID-19 pandemic and then there's the invasion of Ukraine by Russia that greatly affected many economies around the globe. You and your wife need to find more side jobs OP if your current income is not sufficient for your family. If your children are schooling in a private school, you can transfer them to a public free school if possible. Think deep in silence OP so your mind can find ways possible for you to earn. You can also participate in airdrops, especially those big projects that are expected to launch their own tokens soon.
1584  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: March 29, 2023, 11:39:14 AM
Do you want to be relieved of the stress brought to you by trading and investing? Just do a regular DCA. Since I started this especially on bitcoin last December, I became carefree. When bitcoin dumps, I feel happy because I can average down. When the bitcoin price rises, I felt nothing because I knew the real bull run is yet to happen next year. Although there is always in my mind that I need to buy as cheaply as possible but it also feels good when I can see in my portfolio that I am gaining a good percentage of my investment.
1585  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: March 29, 2023, 11:19:44 AM
It is not a waste of time since they were having fun. But it is just too costly, unless for someone with a very high income where drinking and eating outside four times a week is just immaterial. Maybe OP's friends are already contented with their lives, having a lot of fun every week while still able to support their family although without big savings for future use.

We all have different dreams and outlooks in life. I can sacrifice a few years without many hangouts in order to invest in crypto before its bull run. We can also have fun while minimizing the cost as well. Instead of hanging out outside, I can stay at home watching movies, playing computer and mobile games or many other fun stuffs at home. It really depends which stuffs we want to prioritize.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 28, 2023, 03:26:16 PM
And as the regular season is about to close, there are going to be a lot of very close games.

Specially teams fighting for the last play-off spot and then the play-in teams.
The play-in tournament is quite entertaining to watch, as those teams who are vying for a spot are playing like it's their last game in every game. It provides enough entertainment for the fans.

This is probably my first time seeing in the NBA as many teams that are close and are one game apart from each other, especially in the west. Most of them have 7 remaining games left. Maybe it is safe to say that Utah and Portland are now out of the contest unless a miracle will happen.

My eyes will be on #7 GSW and #8 New Orleans later. Both teams are very hungry to add another win for a better chance of getting playoff spots. New Orleans though has no rest day and it is probably the reason why the odds aren't generous in spite of their 5 game win streak.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: March 28, 2023, 02:16:44 PM
This is definitely a great fight. I've been waiting for fights like this, and finally, we have one this year. Lopez could be the underdog here, so I'm going with the favorite, which I believe is Josh Taylor. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed with Lopez's performance against Kambosos. So until he gets a win in a big fight, I'm still going against him now.

JT for the win!

This might be the best fight on schedule after the postponement of Inoue-Fulton.

I am also rooting for Josh Taylor to win here. So it seems like Teofimo Lopez was just lucky against an injured Vasyl Lomachenko and received a gift in his fight against Sandor Martin. No disrespect to Sandor Martin who became known after upsetting and sending former 4 division champion Mikey Garcia into retirement. He was clearly robbed of his victory against Teofimo and still deserved a title fight against any of the current champions. I want to see Josh Taylor end the hype of Teofimo Lopez and then proceed to 147 since already became undisputed in this division. Unless Taylor is still willing to give rematches to his previous close fights to Catterall, Ramirez, and Prograis.
1588  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there anything like Bitcoin savings? on: March 27, 2023, 12:42:52 PM
Some will call this a stupid question 😅 but yea, it's just something that came to my mind today after giving a lot of thoughts about Bitcoin.

Is possible to open a personal savings account in the bank and always send money to that account and when you are ready to collect the money, bank will give it to you, my question is, is it possible to also creat a Bitcoin wallet and always send Bitcoin to it as a savings? if you do that for some year without going back to the wallet, will anything happen to your Bitcoin or the wallet?
You need to know that your bank account is just like your wallet, inasmuch as you keep sending Bitcoin to that wallet, your Bitcoin will keep accumulating till when you need it or when you want to sell.

We need to see our Bitcoin wallet like a bank where we save our Bitcoin till when we ant to sell them or send them out. We can also stake our Bitcoin if we know that we are not going to sell them for a while. Staking our Bitcoin could give some profits and at the end of the day we can sell and use it for something else.

Bank savings deposits though have an interest although a very small percentage which may not be worth it, especially for smaller amounts. I am not sure if this is applicable to all banks worldwide but I assume that most banks around the world are insured up to certain amounts. So you won't lose your bank deposits (within insured limits) even to the extent that your depository bank goes bankrupt.

This is similar to some crypto exchanges that offer small interest to their crypto depositors although there are lock-in periods. And our funds in crypto exchanges are not insured which is why it is better for us to just keep them in our own personal wallets for safe-keeping unless we are trading actively.
1589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 27, 2023, 12:21:26 PM
In this fight Plant is better than he was get knocked out by Canelo, Benavidez's stamina is too strong and he wasn't tired at any round. Congratulations for Benavidez, so he can fight with Canelo after Canelo destorying Ryder in the next 2 monhts. Judging the recent performance by Benavidez in this fight, it seems his skill is still not enough to beat Canelo, but I expect it should be a good fight since Benavidez has a strong chin too.

He is better at holding, and fighting and should have stopped earlier the referee just let Caleb plants hold on to Benavidez, it was a pity to see Caleb holding for dear life as if begging for Benavidez to slow down with the punches, with this win Benavidez is a real and strong threat to Canelo's supremacy in that division, Canelo keeps alluding Benavidez but now their road should cross and its time for them to face one another, let's see if Canelo will take the challenge to fight Benavidez after he beat Ryder.

What a fight! The fight should've been stopped if Bayless keeps warning Plant about his excessive holding. Bayless also stopped the fight multiple times during exchanges. I think he was picked by Caleb as well. Caleb demanded a bigger ring for him to move and probably a referee that won't allow dirty and clinch fights where Benavidez excels.

And as David mentioned, he does not believe that Canelo is scared, the superstar just has plenty of options. Canelo is expected to win against his WBO mandatory. We will see if the WBC will declare a mandatory on Canelo. I bet Sulaiman will choose where the money is, which means it will allow Canelo to do what he wants. I am not sure if the rematch clause of Canelo to Bivol is still alive but it might be next. I don't know what are the other options for Canelo other than Bivol which is worth an addition to his legacy. David Benavidez brings nothing to the table if Canelo pushes legacy fights and might get ignored unless a mandatory is sanctioned by the WBC. Maybe Canelo goes YOLO against the lineal champion at 175, the very dangerous yet aging Artur Beterbiev.
1590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | POSTPONED on: March 27, 2023, 11:52:58 AM
@bisdak40. Agreed and it would be in a higher weight division where Casimero will not he overweight similar to what he has done in the bantamweight division.

In any case, what is the latest news? Is this fight only postponed or is there a chance of a cancellation? This might give a chance for Casimero to enter the show if he can challenge someone with a high rank in super bantamweight.

For now it seems that the fight is going to be scheduled sometime or until his injury is totally 100% healed.

And as I expected, it's a hand injury that he suffered during the sparring session, and if I'm not mistaken Inoue has history of this kind of injuries. Against Omar Narvaez and we all know that Inoue punches so hard, that's why it's just a matter of time before he broke his hands. Probably the same case with Canelo as well, punching so hard in the mitts, or in the actual fight causing them to have this injury. Might take time though, 3 months maybe before he can go back to sparring again and try that hand?

In the past, many KO artists for their hands destroyed as well. Floyd Mayweather JR. used to be a KO artist as well and then his KO rate dropped heavily as he started to move up in weight. But he did mention that his hands are broken, luckily for him, his got the skills to win thru decisions and a very good defense. Nonito Donaire at one time had swollen hands after his fight with WV2. The skull is one of the hardest bones right?

Speaking of Casimero, his past report to Pacman about the mishandling of its MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons might lead to the appointment of a new MP Promotions president. Casimero seriously needs to stay active though as he is not getting younger and he is in a bigger division as well. Just stay active and these sanctioning bodies will rank him higher since he is already a proven fighter, being a 3 division champion to his credit.
1591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 27, 2023, 11:30:16 AM

Moving forward, Lakers with a healthy squad will make a good run next season if they will fail to move up to the playoffs or even
play-in, without changing the lineup and established the chemistry, they are more competitive now.

I am thinking about their chances this season more than next season. LeBron has already returned, but it's unfortunate that they lost against the Bulls. However, they are still somewhat safe to qualify for the play-in as long as they maintain their current ranking.

Speaking of the other game, the Warriors vs Wolves, I was really disappointed with their performance. They could have won that game, but they got careless with a costly turnover. Then, KAT made a clutch 3-point shot.

The Lakers will be a strong contender next season that is for sure. But there is always the risk of suffering injuries again, especially to the ultra-sensitive Anthony Davis. So they better try to give it all in their remaining games. The Grizzlies and the Kings are not very experienced in terms of playoffs games so they seem beatable by a healthy Lakers squad.

Just like the Lakers, the Bulls are also etching to have a better ranking in the east. The Bulls just stopped the dream of the Trailblazers this season to try to advance into the playoffs. Lillard might be rested in the remaining games. And then today, they beat the Lakers in LA. Still, high chances for the Bulls to lose LaVine next season unless they can go deep in the playoffs which is very unlikely.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 27, 2023, 11:00:13 AM
UFC 287

Main card (ESPN+)
Middleweight: Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya
Welterweight: Gilbert Burns vs. Jorge Masvidal
Bantamweight: Rob Font vs. Adrian Yanez
Welterweight: Kevin Holland vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio
Bantamweight: Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Christian Rodriguez

Adesanya will try to prove in the rematch that the defeat was accidental, if I may say so, but this time his waiting strategy will be inappropriate as he needs a convincing victory. Pereira is something of a phenomenon for Adesanya, an uncomfortable opponent. Maybe Adesanya is in too much of a rush to get this rematch, maybe he should have fought a few more fights to regain his confidence, but instead he is sure that he should be Pereira's next opponent.

I don't really think Pereira is a big champion and he's more likely to be beaten by someone who's good at wrestling, but he says he doesn't mind fighting Adesanya again, he's beaten him many times and he has good confidence about this fight.

I would have preferred Adesanya to have a tune-up as well to revive his confidence. Pereira may not have the best wrestling skills and background but it is the same with Adensanya who's only a little better. This is more like a psychological battle for Adesanya. I have no idea why he did the rematch immediately. Pereira will be more confident in the octagon this time while Adesanya after suffering another stoppage will have less confidence and might run the entire fight. I see a one-sided fight, Periera will either win another stoppage or a unanimous decision if Adesanya will be cautious and defensive the entire fight.

Meanwhile, Masvidal cannot wait to put his hands on Edwards. As if he can get past Durinho. Cheesy Masvidal only fights once every year now and lost 3 times in a row and this will be his 4th.
1593  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: March 27, 2023, 10:39:03 AM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNwkMlc5RLw
1594  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 27, 2023, 09:35:30 AM
No one is stopping anyone from learning how to trade. The issue however is opening an account to an exchange since I assume they are not allowing minors to do that. But secretly, anyone that is not a minor can open a trading account to be utilized by the minor.

But first things first, trading is not a walk in the park. To test the ability of your kid, why not create a demo account and let him use it and see if he is indeed willing to undergo the vast lessons to be learned in the world of trading. Challenge him to profit using a demo account. And if he is indeed profitable then you can provide him a real account but just start with small amounts like a hundred dollars.

Good job mate! Your family must be very proud of you. We knew that bitcoin is not yet at its full potential if we are looking at the short-term frame but you were firm to take profits this time in order to prioritize your family. Besides, it is an investment as well so you're just diversifying your investments here.

Maybe I needed the same motivation as yours here. One of my comfort rooms had issues but I am hesitant to spend $1,000 because I thought that the amount can grow faster if I invest it in crypto just like what I did to my monthly savings. Cheesy
1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 24, 2023, 12:41:05 PM
I think it is a wise decision for the Philadelphia 76ers to not force Embiid and Harden to travel against the Warriors. The Warriors are in a tight race in the western conference so they are expected to show their best on their home court and there is no need for the 76ers to risk its minor injured superstars in a possible hot game later. If there is a chance to make Harden and Embiid 100 healthy with a little rest then they might do it as they are already looking forward to the coming playoffs. Apart from that, the 76ers will have no rest day as well since after their travel to San Francisco, they are headed next to Phoenix which maybe be easier for them to focus.
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | POSTPONED on: March 24, 2023, 12:00:03 PM

Alright, some news stated that Naoya Inoue suffers a "hand injury" during sparring.

I'm curious about what happened though, does it happen while Inoue is in a sparring session or while doing his usual punching bag routine? Maybe too much pumped even at practice? Or if it's on sparring, maybe Inoue really showed seriousness even for that.

Here we go again with a long period of speculation because of the postponement. Almost just 2 months left waiting for this clash and we end up hanging on to our excitement because of the unfortunate thing that happened on Inoue. If there's no fresh news or progress for about weeks, I'll consider locking this thread.

As much as I am saddened by the postponement of this big fight, I do understand the need for it. Rather than hide the injury like Pacman did in the Mayweather fight and Lomachenko in the Lopez fight, I like that Inoue and his team were straightforward with the public and move this fight to another schedule. There is no need to be extra brave in spite of suffering injuries because that deprived the public of seeing them fight healthy and leaves no excuses behind. Not saying Pacman and Loma made excuses for their defeats but upon knowing what really happened already we knew that their fights would've been different if they were 100% healthy.

Maybe there is no need to lock this thread unless Fulton rejects the idea of moving this fight to a new date.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 24, 2023, 11:40:41 AM
And no, I may not be a fan of Canelo but I don't think that he's avoiding Benavidez. The kid is not eligible to fight him this much sooner because David doesn't have any interim belts and as Canelo said before, he should prove himself first that he truly deserves a chance to fight Canelo. Now if David can defeat Caleb with a bang, that is surely a ticket for David to fight Canelo.

Benavidez is the no. 1 in The Ring super middleweight champion ranking while John Rider as you stated is the WBO interim champion.  I disagree that Benavidez is not eligible to fight Canelo, if The Ring implements a mandatory title defense then probably Benavidez is the most legit to fight Alvarez.  Same way on John Rider being the WBO interim super middleweight champion.  Whether David Benavidez defeats Caleb with a bang or not, Benavidez is top in line to challenge Alvarez for The Ring Super middleweight championship fight.  But of course, if Benavidez losses against Caleb then,  Benavidez will be replaced by Caleb and the chance of Benavidez to fight Alvarez will be lessened.

In addition the WBC interim Super Middleweight Champion is Benavidez while The WBC World super middleweight Champion is Alvarez, if we apply your reason why John Rider has the right to fight, Alvarez i think that is the same with Benavidez for the WBC Super Middleweight world title belt.

Compared to John Ryder, David Benavidez is the better fighter, more popular, and more proven in the division. But nowadays politics played a big role in boxing. The huge amount of money involved became an important part of fighters, networks, and promoters' decisions. I am not saying Canelo is scared of Benavidez because he might deserve an easy fight after his injury. John Ryder may look easy to Canelo compared to the undefeated and dangerous Benavidez. Nonetheless, I have nothing in this fight and John Ryder might have earned his right to fight for a title after his huge upsets over Daniel Jacobs and Zach Parker. But we cannot question that David Benavidez deserves his shot at a championship belt rather than Ryder.

Styles make fights but Ryder lost already to a lot of fighters and some of them were not even championship-caliber type while Benavidez remained unbeaten and lost the WBC belt before because he was stripped.
1600  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: March 24, 2023, 08:53:03 AM

Of course, there may well be some other signature campaigns that are going to pay sufficiently high amounts (maybe more than $100 per week?), but still seems a bit too much to expect to be able base living standard plans on income from signature campaigns, even if you might be able to get something like $300 per week from a signature campaign, it seems to me that $100 per week is likely more realistic.. just to be conservative in making estimates that do not cause you to be overly reliant on keeping such a higher level of cashflow and/or being able to bounce from one signature campaign to another, in the event that the signature campaign that you are in gets shut down or discontinued.
$400 per month will be enough for a bachelor to live a comfortable life in some countries. It will be enough because he can afford to live in a shared apartment and his expenses on other needs will be very low. But a married man will not be able to feed himself and his family with that monthly income. Children's medical bills, school fees, feeding, and accommodation will cost more than their income.

Practically campaigns might not be the best kind of job to rely on because they can stop without notice. But some of them have lasted for more than one commendable year. Apart from government jobs, other employers in my country can sack workers at will. They can decide to terminate the contract of workers without notice. There are cases where in one year a worker has changed jobs three times. Although, campaign should be a side job, but it might be better than some jobs both in the stability of tenure and pay.

There are only a few remaining signature campaigns that pay $100 per week and some of them are new campaigns that may not last that long. But yes, it is a good amount of money as a side job. But for someone that is only doing a signature campaign as its main source of income, there should be a lot of free time remaining in a day which is enough for someone to do other side jobs or at least develop something that will become an earning potential.

In my country the Philippines, I noticed that there are some foreigners that started as vloggers, especially on Youtube. I noticed this because I usually turned on my television every morning and most of the time it's on Youtube. I got bored watching about agriculture and crypto so I switched to some good vibes videos and there I found these foreigners that are living in my country traveling from place to place and having fun while earning at the same time.
