1562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 01, 2023, 07:18:49 AM
So I read a conversation from my hardcore friends that Tank Davis didn't just demand a catchweight at 136 but also a rehydration clause of no more than 146. So this is a fucked up fight for Ryan Garcia. So I guess it may be true that his lazy ass is done with boxing and just wanted to cash out big time so he surrendered every possible leverage he could take in this fight for sake of millions of dollars for his early retirement fund. Ryan Garcia is nearly a year inactive and after spending 2 fights at 140, he is now back to a catchweight of 136 which would be harder for his growing age and that rehydration clause will affect his full potential for this fight.

No wonder Tank is getting 1.39 odds which surprised me, I was expecting around 1.50 something.

I'm afraid you got your facts wrong my friend. First off, it wasn't Tank Davis who demanded a catchweight at 136, it was Ryan Garcia because it was said that he's not that suitable anymore to fit at 135 and to give back the favor, the latter also agreed with Tank's camp to have a rehydration clause which will limit the latter's weight in the day of their actual fight.

Take note, this wouldn't happen if only Ryan Garcia proceeded with a plain fight that will be contested at 135 but since his camp asked some favor that will give them an advantage, it's no wonder that Tank's side will also make up something to even out the table.

Second, Ryan Garcia was already more than two years inactive at 130 if that's what you mean because his last two fights was contested at 140 where he fought Emmanuel Tagoe and Javier Fortuna, respectively.

Well, it's been years already since Ryan Garcia is challenging Tank Davis in public. Tank a couple of years ago went to 140 also. It came from Tank Davis' mouth that Ryan Garcia tried to negotiate for 138 then 137. Tank Davis being a cherry picker and doesn't care about fighting nobodies and tomato cans for the rest of his life never gave Ryan Garcia the chance to meet halfway which is at 137.5 something. Tank Davis learned a lot from Mayweather's strategy of exploiting deals or no fight at all. This is the reason why Oscar De La Hoya seems a little furious about his ward's willingness to give up everything and just follow all the demands of Tank Davis. At 136, they should have demanded a no-rehydration clause.

You're a little lost mate or maybe you meant 135. Ryan fought Tagoe and Fortuna last year, so he is nearly a year inactive. After this, Oscar will be more focused on grooming Vergil Ortiz, Jaime Mungia, and his other potential prospects of becoming superstars since Ryan is ready to leave boxing after earning $5 to $20 million unless he scores an upset. Cheesy

I have a feeling that the western conference ranked 4, 5, 6, and 7 might be more difficult to beat during the playoffs. These teams are not just capable but they are well-experienced teams with playoffs veterans that can remain composed during the toughest games and clutch times.

Poor Dallas Mavericks, I want them at least inside the top 10. This might be the most stacked year in the west. Although I did notice since I was a kid that the western conference is always with better win-loss teams than the east.
1564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most likely category of people to become Gambling addicts. on: March 31, 2023, 02:47:37 PM
Well, we live in a world where everything can be seen online if we have basic knowledge and skills. As a gambler for many years already, I am always very careful in introducing betting to people, especially the ones that I feel struggling financially and less educated. At least educated people that are seemingly fine with their financial situations can afford some amounts to entertain themselves in casino games and the thrill when they are betting on their favorite sports, leagues, teams, and athletes.
1565  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: March 31, 2023, 02:12:18 PM
No, I cannot wait for 3 years to finally decide to close a losing business. That's just way too long for me. Although I haven't had a business with a capital of over $20k. A few years ago, I tried to open a business with that amount as its capital, after a few months of processing the papers and attending meetings where sometimes politics are involved in a local place, I gave up before it even started.

So maybe a big capital like those rich people are starting, they just cannot simply give it up and lose all the investment. But for smaller businesses, 3 years is just way too long to suffer and the capital loss is a bit tolerable.
1566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 31, 2023, 01:43:51 PM
Boston Celtics won by a blowout game but I didn't see any energy from the Bucks' usual defensive dedication. No bearing game, and as I watched it, the game almost look like a practice game or something like an All-Star. It's not enough to say it's the Celtics who have the upper hand when the playoff or finals come.
Tatum went nuts 8 of 10 in the 3-point line. Well, that says it all, lack of defense, and the Bucks are not really playing as tough as their past games, just protecting themselves to avoid injuries.

The Nuggets on the other hand without Jokic are giving a lot of trouble for the Pelicans who badly need a win. They may be in the lead but Murray keeps on coming back and cutting the lead. 4th quarter is next.

They might as well just rested Giannis or Jrue, Kris, or even the aging Brook Lopez to avoid expectations from the fans and fully avoid possible injuries. People went in there expecting an intense rivalry game between the Eastern conference's best teams. Although a few years ago I read about Giannis not being a fan of resting players so the whole Bucks starters went in there but only to chill and void a physical game. I only watched a portion of the first half but I never went back to finish the remaining quarters.

Denver is another team that is 3 games ahead of Memphis so they can also afford to rest or chill out. That win from the Pelicans though costs Luka and his team to grind harder than ever just to secure a playoff spot.
1567  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: March 31, 2023, 01:23:04 PM
The biggest obstacle for me is enough money or a good source of income, you can't rely on jobs only to become financially free, paycheck will always be paycheck because you as a man already have some responsibilities, it's either you have more than one jobs or you find another source of income, you can't invest for a better future if you don't have more than one source of income. It will be even more easier if you are a man of talent, and you have your own business, you will only need to work on your business.

That is true, unless those people are already born rich, they can invest right away or start their own business to their liking. Ordinary people like us need to grind harder for us to have extra funding for investment purposes. It is what it is, we got to sacrifice part of our lives to reach the goals we dreamed of.

In terms of talent, each of us has special skills and talents. The difference though is we may not be able to work it out or we also need to sacrifice a lot like spending money or leaving our job to pursue a career that fits our natural talents. So this is also another advantage to those that are born rich already, they can easily go to any school and take their hobbies, interests, and talent to a different level.

But we just have to be positive and continue striving for the best. We may start from the dust but once we achieve that success that we worked hard for, it is a great feeling of success.

1569  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 31, 2023, 12:35:20 PM

Meanwhile, we have an update on Jason Moloney, the supposed opponent of Nonito Donaire for the vacant WBC strap. Earlier, the Moloney team want to fight Donaire and try to bring the fight to Australia. But Bob Arum said it does not want to get involved with any fighters from Probellum citing its connections to an Irish mob that is wanted in the US. Now Jason Moloney is set to face Vincent Astrolabio for the vacant WBO belt. Luckily for Astrolabio, Moloney is denied a title shot in his native Australia as his post mentioned Stockton, California is the venue. No reason was cited but it could be Astrolabio accepted a deal to avoid a purse bid but the venue should be in a neutral place or it could be Arum or ESPN that wants the fight in the US for its viewers.

May the best man win. I hope Astrolabio wins so it could be easier for him to unify with Donaire or any other future champions.
1570  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: SIM Registration: Anong Dapat Ipag-alala? on: March 31, 2023, 12:18:58 PM
1571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 04:06:23 PM
Last night was the first time I saw Westbrook have an MVP-worthy performance. With Leonard and Paul George absent, he took charge of the game and led the Clippers to a big win against Memphis with a full roster. Westbrook scored 36 points on 13-18 shooting and added 10 assists, effectively turning back the clock with his play.

Yes, it was like vintage Westbrook last night with that kind of numbers. Which let me to believed though that in order for him to really excel, he needs a team that he is the alpha. In Clippers he has Kahwi and PG, and fortunately they were not able to play in this game and so somewhat he needs to step up and that's what we've seen in him tonight. It's just the question on whether he can repeat that performance or not. And he and Brooks has some fiery competition but it the end it was Westbrook who got the last laugh.

The playing style of Westbrook is indeed fitted as an alpha. He is good but his inability to shoot beyond the arc, especially for his position as a pg and the main man of the team, is a big minus. We saw him when he was the alpha at OKC and they cannot even proceed to the second round of the playoffs. There was also the time when PG played there but only as a second option after Russ and the season ended up with PG having the lesser time with the ball but being much more accurate and efficient than Russ. That probably leads PG to get out of OKC.
1572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2023, 03:46:21 PM
^^ Not really sure what do you mean by not interested, Canelo is still the cash cow of boxing, so whoever he fight next, will definitely make a lot of money. And maybe Bivol can double on what he get during their first fight as he already beat Canelo at 175. Now there is a scenario that might interested Bivol, that is to fight Canelo as his super middle weight class, which means that Canelo will have to put all his belt on the line. So the stakes are high and Bivol might not resists it because it's going to be a win-win situation for him. And if by chance he beat Canelo twice, then he will be a double belt champion at 168 lbs and his 175 lbs. And Canelo wanted to get his revenge against Bivol, we totally didn't expect that he will lost to Bivol.

Canelo is so popular that even if he cherry-picked his opponents he can still take home 8 digits after PPV counts. Bivol should earn around $10 million in case of a rematch. While Benavidez is a monster, Bivol is still a class above and is still the more difficult fighter to beat. Maybe Canelo can earn more against Benavidez but hats off to him if he pursues that rematch. Meanwhile, Bivol did mention earlier his willingness to drop to 168, so I am confident that a rematch happens because he accepts either at 175 or at 168. I see Bivol as a small guy at 175 though so he should be able to make 168 without much difficulty. Those undisputed belts at 168 are very tempting, to be honest. Canelo took years to complete the 4 belts and Bivol has the chance to win it all in a single fight.
1573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 30, 2023, 03:13:21 PM
However, there will come a time when the promoters will have to take risks and match their fighters against tougher opponents. Until then, we will have to wait and see what moves they make.

As boxing fans and bettors, we have no choice but to wait for that moment when we can witness a unification fight. While this won't be Donaire's first time in a championship fight, we want to see him become a unified champion since Inoue is no longer in this division.

Therefore, I hope the promoters don't play games and give Donaire what he deserves, which is a big fight. His time in boxing is limited, and he deserves a chance to achieve his goals before he retires.

If Donaire becomes a champion again and wants to become a unified champion, there should be no problem dealing with the other future champions especially if they are with PBC like Rodriguez and Astrolabio where it has a great relationship. Except if Moloney wins the WBO and Arum is serious with his calls on not to deal with Probellum fighters, it will be hard for Donaire to become undisputed although I doubt he still has time to collect them all one by one.

It also remains to be seen if Donaire still has the ambition to drop down in weight to become a 5-division world champion.
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is crazy on: March 29, 2023, 01:10:42 PM
Nice joke OP. Imagine if we create a thread for every joke we find on the internet. Kidding aside, it's a no-brainer. Just think about the supply of Shiba Inu going $50 a few years from now. So meme coins will be accepted globally or maybe to some other planets as well so that aliens can help pump Shiba Inu to reach its market capitalization to hundreds of quadrillions in dollars? I know Shiba Inu will burn a portion of its supplies but still, it is insane for someone to say that it will reach $50 in the next few years. The video is not even worth listening to or watching.
1575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment involves being realistic, doesn't it ? on: March 29, 2023, 12:43:19 PM
Trading and investing are also psychological. Our emotions are involved especially when dealing with the amounts that we cannot afford to lose. Experience can help but not 100%. After many years of trading and investing, I became less emotional although I believe it really depends on the amount we are dealing with.

Newbies on the other hand will have more difficulty dealing with emotions. For example, a few weeks ago bitcoin dropped to $19k but then after a few days, it went back to $24k. Most newbies probably became itchy to cash out their profits without knowing that it will increase further to $28k in the following days. Nonetheless, it is important to be content with every profit and hold no regrets. Just focus on the next ones. As for me, I will only sell a portion once bitcoin touches $100k.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 29, 2023, 12:19:46 PM
Buying cheap is obviously the formula to gain profit and value, not just in bitcoin but in everything in the market. The question is, how cheap is cheap to you? How confident are you to catch the dip? The best way to do this is thru cost averaging. After years of experience in trading and investing, I realized that it is mission impossible to catch the dippest and the highest prices. So we should be more contented with every gain we have no matter the amount.

I am into DCA on bitcoin and so far so good. And if ever it will go down just like last year, it doesn't matter because I can buy cheaper and it helps my purchase cost a little lower.
1577  Economy / Economics / Re: Money hardly come this days! Why? on: March 29, 2023, 11:59:35 AM
Indeed. These are very challenging times for us, especially on the financial side. From the COVID-19 pandemic and then there's the invasion of Ukraine by Russia that greatly affected many economies around the globe. You and your wife need to find more side jobs OP if your current income is not sufficient for your family. If your children are schooling in a private school, you can transfer them to a public free school if possible. Think deep in silence OP so your mind can find ways possible for you to earn. You can also participate in airdrops, especially those big projects that are expected to launch their own tokens soon.
1578  Economy / Economics / Re: Is risky to invest this period on: March 29, 2023, 11:39:14 AM
Do you want to be relieved of the stress brought to you by trading and investing? Just do a regular DCA. Since I started this especially on bitcoin last December, I became carefree. When bitcoin dumps, I feel happy because I can average down. When the bitcoin price rises, I felt nothing because I knew the real bull run is yet to happen next year. Although there is always in my mind that I need to buy as cheaply as possible but it also feels good when I can see in my portfolio that I am gaining a good percentage of my investment.
1579  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: March 29, 2023, 11:19:44 AM
It is not a waste of time since they were having fun. But it is just too costly, unless for someone with a very high income where drinking and eating outside four times a week is just immaterial. Maybe OP's friends are already contented with their lives, having a lot of fun every week while still able to support their family although without big savings for future use.

We all have different dreams and outlooks in life. I can sacrifice a few years without many hangouts in order to invest in crypto before its bull run. We can also have fun while minimizing the cost as well. Instead of hanging out outside, I can stay at home watching movies, playing computer and mobile games or many other fun stuffs at home. It really depends which stuffs we want to prioritize.
1580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 28, 2023, 03:26:16 PM
And as the regular season is about to close, there are going to be a lot of very close games.

Specially teams fighting for the last play-off spot and then the play-in teams.
The play-in tournament is quite entertaining to watch, as those teams who are vying for a spot are playing like it's their last game in every game. It provides enough entertainment for the fans.

This is probably my first time seeing in the NBA as many teams that are close and are one game apart from each other, especially in the west. Most of them have 7 remaining games left. Maybe it is safe to say that Utah and Portland are now out of the contest unless a miracle will happen.

My eyes will be on #7 GSW and #8 New Orleans later. Both teams are very hungry to add another win for a better chance of getting playoff spots. New Orleans though has no rest day and it is probably the reason why the odds aren't generous in spite of their 5 game win streak.
