Any thoughts on the report that NBA will announce expansion teams on its pre-season. The teams will be Las Vegas and Seattle.

If it is Supersonics, I think it will continue the history of the previous Supersonics.

If this happens, as the report said, there will be reshuffling in conferences. Each conference will now have 16 teams each.

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/nba-to-announce-expansion-teams-las-vegas-seattle-during-preseason

That's quite new, good if they will expand so they can accommodate plenty of talents. I remember before, I think Durant started as a Seattle Supersonics before he goes to OKC. Will be following this update but I think it will not take effect this coming season.

I like it. I remember there were 32 teams in the NBA before. Seattle always wanted to bring back NBA to its city. I don't know how they lost their team earlier. These last years I also heard rumors of Las Vegas or Nevada wanting to join the NBA too.

So how will NBA gonna do this? Las Vegas or Nevara and Seattle pretty sure belong to the west. Maybe transfer some of the teams that are located in the middle to the eastern conference? I'm thinking both Minnesota and Oklahoma transferred to the eastern conference. But if they want to draw a line to make sure there was no bias then it's Minnesota and Houston going to the eastern conference. Team owners in the east might complain because Minnesota is looking like a serious contender and everybody knows that Houston is rich and it won't take them long before appearing in the playoffs again especially that they have many future draft picks.
2562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 09, 2022, 05:17:58 AM
Yes, Beterbiev as per Bob Arum earlier should fight in the UK against Anthony Yarde.

Yes, Arum already laid down the plans for Beterviev to remain as champion up until the end of the year? Perhaps a Bivol fight is also in the calendar next year.

I really want Beterbiev and Bivol to fight each other for the undisputed belts. Both Beterbiev and Bivol want the fight. I haven't heard Eddie Hearn's comment on this but I'm interested to hear his side because Bob Arum already said that it's like impossible for these 2 beasts to face each other. Arum might have been realistic that there is not much money for a joint network show. Bivol is with DAZN while Beterbiev is with ESPN and it might be very costly to stage the fight.

For me, the best way to make this fight happen is to let ESPN handle the network solo since Beterbiev is the lineal, WBC, IBF, and WBO champion compared to Bivol's lone WBA belt. But we do need Hearn and DAZN's approval on this. I believe in Hearn and DAZN, they seem willing to sacrifice like letting Haney sign a contract with Top Rank which is with ESPN in order to made the Kambosos undisputed match a reality. But it is still business though. DAZN earlier was mentioned denying PBC as the solo promoter and its network for the mandatory Jermall Charlo-Jaime Mungia fight.

I took a bet for the Czech Republic, fingers crossed for them to win it.
Another win. Congrats mate. I should have bet on Czech too because I knew Israel is the underdog but I was reluctant to take the risk in that do-or-die game.

Edit: Something weird happened in the last 20 seconds of the game between Croatia vs Ukraine. Bojan missed the bonus shot on purpose and then Ukraine players asking their coach if they should shoot or not. What's that?
Croatia decided to pick an potential opponent in 1/4 final. If Croatia would have won by 8 or more points, they would potentially get Slovenia in 1/4 final. Now they will get winner of Spain - Lithuania. Also, it means that Italy will finnish 4th in this group and they will get Serbia in 1/8 final. Personally I don't like such opponents picking and usually such dirty games don't end well for that team.
Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand more about the points system. I really thought that the overall total points difference will be used once head-to-head is not enough for tie-breakers. Poor Italy, they dropped to 4th when I thought they secured the 2nd spot since they have a total of 45 points differential. Now Italy is likely to get dropped by Serbia while Croatia and Ukraine are most likely to win against their next opponents.
2565  Economy / Economics / Re: Working hours | How many are too many? on: September 08, 2022, 01:54:55 PM
In my country, 8 hours is the standard daily working hours. But in reality, many of our companies and employers provided too much work to do that it consumes 10 to 12 hours daily. Overtime works are just fine if people are getting paid for their extra working hours. But many of our employers here are not paying for extra time spent at work. Some are paying but not the usual standard rate. And many jobs in my country wherein people need to work 6 days a week instead of just 5 days. These are just some of the reasons why many left for other countries to find better jobs.
2566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: September 08, 2022, 12:55:01 PM
The survey is getting weird here. At the start, I'm pretty sure that the majority voted for Shakur to win by decision, but now we have a couple more votes for Shakur to win by knockout. Interesting because Shakur right now has a 50% KO ratio just like Conceicao. We'll see if Shakur's KO ratio will become higher than 50% or if it will drop.

And so I just found out that Conceicao is an Olympic gold medalist. Wtf! I missed something then. I knew he was an Olympian before just like Valdez but I never realized he is that special. So it seems like Conceicao is being underestimated here although I still agree that he is an underdog due to the reasons I mentioned earlier. Nonetheless, we are having an Olympic gold medalist in Conceicao versus an Olympic silver medalist, Shakur.
2567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 08, 2022, 12:27:32 PM
Is anybody here following Haney's Twitter? I like how he is being vocal and at the same time trolling or trash-talking. Last month, Haney was trolling Teofimo Lopez calling his performance like a poor one against a non-ranked fighter.

This month of September he is targeting Tank Davis, calling his WBA regular belt a Mickey Mouse belt. Of course, the WBA belt is not a major title since Haney got the Super WBA belt and all the remaining belts in the division. It's funny because prior to becoming an undisputed champion, Haney was called an e-mail champ after his WBC interim belt was upgraded as the WBC champion after the corrupt WBC president Sulaiman tried to introduce its new WBC Franchise (similar to Super WBA belt) belt as a major belt with higher credits than the usual WBC belt.
2568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2022, 11:53:13 AM
Former Sixth man of the year Montrezl Harrell signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for 2 years. I'm liking Philly even more with this new acquisition. If James Harden returns this season fit and brings back his good old years then this team is serious to reach the top. It can compete against the Celtics and the Bucks in the eastern conference. I expect Miami Heat to slow down this season after losing Tucker and not acquiring anything material in return. Miami will have a hard time repeating as the number 1 winningest team in the east with its rival teams taking some big moves with their line-ups.
There's a chance actually and that's if Victor Oladipo can get back his former game. Then, Duncan Robinson the glass cannon, making him tougher should be one of their focus. Those are their weaknesses, for now, they lack backup players that would substitute for Butler and Bam Adebayo if they need a breather.
IMO, Miami Heat is still a strong team with Bam dominating the painted area and refining his shooting skills. That pair must not be underestimated yet and they have young players who are playing better and it showed last season.

The lineup is good but it's not enough to win a championship, look how they struggled against a young Celtics. I think Butler is not a superstar that has a championship caliber, well, there's still one season for him to prove the doubters wrong, so they need to win the championship as this could be their last chance.

Well, that's too far from happening because they have not improve their lineup. I don't know but that's what I am seeing the next season, I think it will still be the Warriors or the Lakers (if they'll improved), and it will be the Celtics or the Bucks that's gonna make it to the NBA Finals.

Hard to determine whether who's team will go on finals because many teams upgrade their roosters. We see how Sixers improve their rooster this season so I think they are also a team to be consider unto the finals and there are other more strong teams which for sure surprise us this season that will reach far like what Suns did.

No matter how they'll improve their roster but they don't have the system to win the championship, that's still not gonna work. Warriors had a good system, they also have a big 3 who are experienced enough in the NBA finals and have won a multiple championships together, so I would trust the Warriors here as they will likely win a back to back championship, well, I could be wrong though.

Miami Heat together with the Philadelphia 76ers, are my favorite teams in the East. Miami Heat in spite of competing at the top the in East thru the years always had the cap space to sign even superstars like Giannis, KD, and Mitchell but they always came up short and I wonder why. Is it because they might have a problem with Butler who's known as the heart and soul of Miami or they just simply lost those bids against the other teams?

I consider Butler a superstar. If only they were 100% healthy last season, they may have a real chance of winning. I'm also hoping for Victor Oladipo and Duncan Robinson to step up their games. And maybe Miami can still acquire some new before the season starts.

France - Slovenia, what a game. 47 points of Doncis is something incredible, 2nd best result in Eurobasket history. But he got posterized by Gobert Cheesy. But in last minutes brother Dragic were key players. Though, Fournier and coach Collet was furious at referees for not given foul on final seconds when he steal the ball. So, Slovenia won group of death.
Group of Death.  Grin
I was so sleepy at the end of the 3rd quarter so I was unable to finish it. It was a tie game if I remember correctly.
Tough game and a lot of players are getting hurt by the physicality that is happening. I even thought Luka won't return after being hit hard.
Every play was so important that it almost looked like a playoff game. Are there perks for being at the top of one group, because I don't know the rules about it?
Very tough game. France tried to bury Slovenia early but they cannot stop the momentum from shifting away. Luka Doncic had an insane night and looked unstoppable even if Gobert tried to guard him. France was always in the game but they cannot catch up with the Slovenians. It was like a do-or-die game because taking the top and second spots guaranteed facing the 3rd and 4th placers of Group A. After the defeat, France dropped to 3rd and they are facing the 2nd seed of Group A which is the ever dangerous Turkey. Top Slovenia is expected to have an easier time against the Belgians. The same with 2nd seed Germany, they are also expected to beat Montenegro.

Lithuania saved me some nerves by winning confident against B&H and somehow reaching next round. We get Spain in 1/8 final, what should be great game.
Fiasco for Georgia - last place in group while being hosts. It only shows how important for them is Shengelia.
So, we already know 4 1/8 final pairs - Germany - Montenegro, Lithuania - Spain,  Slovenia - Belgium and Turkey - France.
Okay so there are 5 games, I guess that is where I am confused with. I thought there are only 4 games.
So Israel is still not safe for the qualifying 16 in Group D and if they are defeated by the Czech then it will be them who takes the spot.
Group C is just finishing up in rankings but 4 teams are already identified to qualify while Group D is still not complete.
Yes, mate. It's round robin and there are 6 teams in a group, which means all teams will play 5 games each. And yes, Israel is not yet safe. If Czech wins then Israel's only hope is for Finland to lose against the Netherlands. But the Finns are heavy favorites to win over the still winless Dutch team.

A lot of upsets in Dota 2 right now! Hokori managed to 3-0 Infamous and it was one of the best Dota games I have ever seen so far. I don't even know anyone from this team but seeing how coordinated and how patient they are, I think they have a decent chance of progressing in TI and not be eliminated easily. Their midlane and carry players are so good in creating space for themselves in order to farm. For sure, a lot of bettors are upset with this result from SA TI Qualifiers Cheesy

Damn. I was lucky I stopped betting for Infamous after their win over SG. I should've won in their next game but looking at the odds, I would have a net loss after they lost to Hokori. SA TI qualifier was much like what happened in eastern Europe. Hokori was dropped by Tempest, then avenged their loss after Infamous dropped Tempest in the upper bracket finals. Then boom! Hokori won 3-0 over Infamous.

China and North American qualifiers start today. We'll see if favorites RNG of China and Soniqs in NA are going to get upset too. China is really stacked with good teams though so RNG will be having a hard time battling these teams to secure their TI tickets.

No chance this fight is going to distance in my opinion, it's going to be Chimaev win by submission.

Isnt Nate good at BJJ ? Wikipedia says he has a cool black belt in it. Also most of his wins were made by submission. And he was only one loss via submission in early stages of his career. I dont think that Chimaev is going to win by submission, but he will use his wrestling skills to turn this fight to the ground and win by ground and pound. I think it is going to be ref stoppage after a series of strikes on the ground or doctor stoppage.

Submission is very likely because this is Chimaev. Odds will be more profitable by submission.

Even if the fight will be bloody and slimey for Chimaev, he will bring this fight to the ground whenever he gets an opportunity and submit Nate to show his dominance. I don't think Nate can ever defend a TD. Its a helicopter dance.

Nate Diaz does have good ground skills during his younger days. But at this current stage of his career, I am not taking out the possibility of Chimaev winning a submission. Chimaev has good ground skills too and is obviously stronger and has more stamina which will play an important role if the fight gets past round 3.

I highly doubt though that Nate can survive more than 3 rounds. I don't think he can take a lot of punishment like Burns at his age and inactivity. More or less 50 significant strikes from Chimaev and Nate will be done.

2573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 07, 2022, 03:03:33 PM
Kudos to Paul Butler for doing this. I cannot easily believe that he just signed this match-up. Is he too honorable or he's getting paid at least a million dollars in this fight or maybe both? But I am very happy that finally another undisputed championship is happening. Boxing is a little back to its glory days when champions should fight each other.

Inoue will smash Butler pretty easily. Faster, stronger, more powerful puncher, stronger chin, higher IQ, better stamina, heart and has more experience in high-level fights. Is there even an advantage that Butler has? Maybe some can say he is taller and has longer reach? But it also means he will enter the ring slimmer which is vulnerable to body punches.
2574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double Unification Fights: Shields vs Marshall / Mayer vs Baumgardner on: September 07, 2022, 02:14:55 PM
So these fights are happening this weekend. Women's boxing is back. These are all unification fights and all 4 of them are also undefeated so these fights should be better according to papers at least.

The Ring, WBO, and IBF champion Mikaela Mayer finally shook hands with WBC champion Alycia Baumgardner but they actually continued their trash talking after this. I like Alycia, she's fast and she hurt opponents but Mayer's skills and experience in championship fights might be too much especially if the fight reaches the 2nd half.

The face-off between Ring, WBA, WBC, and IBF champion Claressa Shields and WBO champion Savannah Marshall. Claressa continued her trash talks but Marshall remained cool and silent. It is surprising that Shields is the slight underdog but maybe Marshall's KO rate and being at home are the factors. This seems like a clear Shields fight until Marshall starts to connect with her power punches.

Congrats on your winning bets guys. I also ended my losing streak and am now on a 3 winning streak. Thanks to France indeed. Although I never took the minus points as I want to make it safe just to secure that my losing streak ends.

In a couple of hours, we will have another great matchup between France and Slovenia. I'm still undecided on who to bet on as I like both teams.

I felt bad for the loser between B&H and Lithuania, they seem capable of reaching the knockout stage if they weren't assigned to this group. So far Lithuania is leading by 14 points at halftime but it is still very early to tell. The winner should seal the 4th place, right?
2576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 07, 2022, 12:46:08 PM
If someone had expectations for Na'Vi after what they showed yesterday , I feel bad for them because the name itself is too big for the current squad they have for Dota 2 and at this point even the odds are lower when Na'Vi plays simply because of the name they have. BetBoom simply destroyed Na'Vi today and they're doing the same thing with Outsiders in game 1 but I'm sure they will go for a comeback in game 2.

Na'Vi as a Dota 2 team no longer has that charm compared to when they still have Dendi. After Dendi's departure, Na'Vi is no longer a household name in Dota, and has rather became and obscure name in the Dota CIS region. With the arrival of Crystallize, there was a breathe of fresh air, but it didn't last long. If Na'Vi still wants to compete at the highest level in Dota, they need to do some serious overhaul of their team structure and their organization too. They were at the top, but they just became weak over time.

I late realize that sonneiko is in the other side of the team well actually the Navi have a good draft but upon observing they are still using the old school picking of their draft and also they always make a commit when their team is already dead which is like throwing the game. Dendi is one of the signature of the navi but of course not all the time we need to stick what we came from to have more and better experience afaik he is now retired and only to the former navi playing like puppy and kuroky.
Guess what? The Outsiders lost a map for the first time in this TI regional qualifier. And they didn't just lose a map, they were badly annihilated by BetBoom by 0-3. What a comeback by BetBoom. NaVi earlier dropped BetBoom to the lower bracket. But in the rematch, BetBoom showed that they needed it more than Navi by winning 2-0 and then all the way up by surprising the region's favorite Outsiders. But still, NaVi and Outsiders are qualified to travel to Singapore for the last qualifiers.

In South America, favorite Infamous is already waiting for the finals. The team also never dropped a single map on the way to the finals.

After South America and eastern Europe, we will turn our attention to China and North America as they start their own qualifiers next.

Kumusta na dito? May mga nilalaro pa ba kayong P2E games na worth it? Ano na mga games and projects na inaabangan niyo?

Nakatalpak ako last year sa Land of Ancients. DOTA 2 at LOL inspired siya pero P2E at pwede siya sa mobile so parang Mobile Legends din.

Meron rin ako investments sa Synergy of Serra last year dahil partner raw nila Steam. Kaso umatras yung Steam dahil ayaw muna nila sa mga crypto related projects, siguro dahil maapektuhan ang license nila at kailangan na naman nila ng bagong requirements for their crypto games.
2578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA EuroBasket 2022 on: September 06, 2022, 07:03:49 AM
^Lots of issues and shocking events on that day.
Turkey - waiting for the security footage about what happened backstage. It is said that Furkan Korkmaz was attacked by 3 Georgian players. We will see on the next news and I wish they leak it out.

Lithuania vs Germany - Where is the damn technical free-throw? It was not given to Valančiūnas after he was fouled. They only gave him 2 instead of 3 including the unsportsmanlike call/technical, iirc.

B&H and Belgium upset the strong teams.

So far my bets are 0-3. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I actually stopped following and watching after losing all my bets. But since I found this thread today I will start following again and maybe I will bet again. It's just unusual, especially the upsets. It seems like Luka Doncic and Slovenia are in a death group with Germany, Norkic's B&H, mighty France, and Lithuania. Hungary will have a hard time winning a single game as the other countries are competing to reach the top and sees the Hungarians as a must-win bonus.
2579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 06, 2022, 06:29:57 AM
Guys, today I was visiting some sports/news sites and I read a news article about Chet Holmgren's injury (to be more specific an update on his injury) and it said that he could return to the NBA maybe at the end of the season regular or early playoffs.

As incredible as it may seem, I tried to access this site again to view it more calmly, but it seems that the content was taken down... To be more specific, this news I had read was on the ESPN website.

Has anyone seen any news similar to this about Holmgren's injury!!?
Yes, he was injured. But I think the reason why they took it down is that they don't know the precise date on when his return will be.
Maybe, they will post it back after editing a few errors.
The injury (Lisfranc injury) is said to take 6 months to 1 year including rehabilitation and they should also take to account the mental shock it could bring to the rookie. So, expect it to take longer than a year. Once we see him in training camp next season, it will be a good sign.

Here is a link to the short analysis of the injury, how it happened, and some similar cases.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yj6YUtitVk

And OKC is a rebuilding team so there is no urgency to force the young kid into action next season. The team will make sure the kid will be fully healed to reach his full potential. At the moment, OKC is the second most number of future draft picks after the Utah Jazz, which means the potential for these teams to compete once again at the top is high in the next few years. Chet that time will have more extra weight and more muscles.

So it is only less than a month before the NBA starts again. I am very excited, especially about the T'wolves new line-up. I hope they can still trade D'lo before the season starts as per earlier plan.
