3261  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this a gang up against cryptocurrency? Or ways to regulation? on: June 30, 2021, 01:49:38 PM
UK is restricting Binance from there service in the UK and warning the people against binance.com. These restrictions looks to me like a means to regulate the activities of cryptocurrency.

The government's institutions expect all companies that work with money should comply their rules. From what I've read Binance doesn't, nothing unexpected here, especially since Binance is not registered in UK.
They will play cat and mouse, then, if UK is big enough market to worth the hassle, we'll see a binance.co.uk only for the brits, with certain restrictions enforced and so on. But that's only if UK is a big enough market for Binance...

This is true.

Upon reading the news, the FCA of UK has released certain set of rules in which Binance has not yet complied with. Unfortunately, the government also wants control to every transaction that comes within the ambit of their jurisdiction. Anything that is decentralized is a red flag for them since it allows some circumvention to their authority.

This is one of the problems that cryptocurrencies, in general, are facing. The decentralization, even if the idea is very promising, is one of those innovation that the government cannot just accept without consequences.
3262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: June 30, 2021, 10:29:29 AM
I guess excellent service and transparency builds reputation. It is true thay it takes time and patience to build reputation. A random accusation cannot destroy a reputable casino. Loyal platform users will eventually defend a casino if they know based on their experience that they are truthful of their service. But it is true with just one wrong move, year long reputation can be damaged or be gone in a short span of time.

A random accusation without substantiating any proof must be taken lightly like a drop in the ocean. Many would attempt to destroy the reputation of a gambling website but their long standing and history would prove otherwise.

Unfortunately, with the existence of lots of fake reviews, there are gambling websites that contain positive reviews but mostly from paid users. One of the strongest evidence of genuineness is not the reviews per se, but the time that they are operating in the online-gambling platform.

3264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Go ahead and invest when ever you are ready on: June 27, 2021, 07:24:31 PM
If I keep on listening to what people say about Bitcoin that it price will still drop I will keep on waiting and I may also miss opportunities. Afterall one of the good qualities of a good investor is risk taking I don't need to follow what people say.

Even if it drops it will still come up, it has been happening sometimes back , and this will not be the first time.
One can't predict the market you maybe thinking it price will still fall low but unfortunately it may come  up unexpectedly.
The truth is that there is no good time for one to make investment , it is something that one can start anytime depending when you are ready. so I move on . No dulling

Back when I first joined this forum in 2017, the value of 1 BTC was around $40-$50,000. Unfortunately, I sold most of my BTCs back then as my mind was driven into a short-term goal. Fast forward to 2021, its value reached an all time high of around $60,000. If I hadn't sold my BTCs back then, I would've made so much today that would alleviate my expenses.

The key here will always be your goal in your investments. If you truly believe that the price will increase in the following years, then follow what your gut tells you. At the end of the day, you will be the one who's going to decide on whether to purchase/sell your BTCs.
3265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: June 27, 2021, 06:25:06 PM

I guess Manny had already signed a contract on the Garica fight, that's why there's a breach of contract. I have not read the content of the news yet, but it's pretty obvious that they are just looking for money that's why they sue Manny. Why can't they just wait after this fight, regardless of the result, I'm sure Manny could still fight Garcia if that's how the contract will be fulfilled.

This is a big surprise there are two scenarios here either he will eventually fight Garcia or he will pay for damages so just to push through with the Spence fight, they should come out with a quick decision, Pacquiao is already in training and this is a big distraction to his training, I don't want Pacquiao to pay for damages the Garcia fight is also good even if Garcia has no belt.

At this point, I consider it as both a blessing and a privilege that we get to witness another Pacquiao fight as we all know that he is already aging. Regardless on who Pacquiao will fight this year, I'm all up for it!

I read about the article about on the breach of contract and the camp of Pacquiao will definitely fix this conondrum. I think I also remembered that Pacquiao mentioned about fighting 'real boxers' instead of 'non-boxers' so I think he won't actually engage into exhibition fights in the future.
3266  Other / Meta / Re: An Alternative to Merit on: June 27, 2021, 04:45:55 PM
Your Idea may seems right but sometimes if you approach your topic from another angle of reasoning you will realizes that way encourage lazy forum user from being diligent. And also will increase the level of spamming and plagiarism post.

Please sir, can you enlighten me on how the introduction of likes along side merit will increase the level of plagiarism in the forum?

I highly suggest that you ignore his reply as it does not make any sense at all.

What you suggested may sound good on paper, but in reality, it kinda defeats the purpose of the merit system. As what many have already mentioned, the purpose of merits is to reward users who contribute quality posts in the forum. For every two (2) merits that you earn, you are rewarded with one (1) sendable merit that allows you to merit another post in which you find valuable. The reason for this is clear and obvious- which is to prevent abuse.

To solve your problem, you can always save the post in which you find valuable, then merit it later on once you receive one.
3267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to the coins after your death ? on: June 27, 2021, 04:07:40 PM
In most of the cases when the person dies, his crypto would become useless if his family member do not know about his keys.

I do not usually tell my password or keys to anyone and i know majority of the people don't do this. We are being taught to keep the keys safe.
No one think that one day he will die and in that case, his family won't be able to use those savings (bitcoin/crypto) if they don't know the keys.
Also people won't like to share keys with siblings or wife because they can misuse them . So what could be the solution to this  Huh

This question has been raised before and the answer stays the same: it's good as dead assuming that you kept your private keys to yourself.

Our BTCs are stored in our wallets that are protected with our respective private keys. In the unfortunate event that you die, no one will be able to access your wallet without which knowing the private keys; that is why it is somehow advisable to create a safe-lock containing all of your essential items/documents for your heirs to manage.
3268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling Licenses - What they actually mean on: June 27, 2021, 02:50:28 PM
That said, the vast majority of casinos aren't in the business of screwing their customers. The odds are already in the houses' favor. My advice is to find an online casino with a good reputation, and just totally ignore any gaming license nonsense. And be your own auditor. Play at provably fair casinos, and actually make an effort to check the results.

While I do agree with the points that you raised, I think having a gambling license makes the website legit as they have an established license to operate.

Assuming that you are a newbie hoping to gamble some crypto/money, then you stumble upon two gambling websites where one has a license and the other has none, chances are that the person would choose the former.

While at paper it may seem nothing, but the confidence and trust that it provides to new users can be quite reassuring. But like what you have mentioned, the safest bet would probably to gamble on online gambling websites that have been around for a couple/several years already as they have established their presence in the industry.

3269  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As I am newcomer here! So need your little advice? on: June 27, 2021, 01:57:50 AM
Created a topic, not received merits, left to register another account.
How many answers were received, and the OP did not appear to answer whether he understood everything, or he still needs to repeat the same thing ten times.
Please note that people who come here for knowledge are not worried about making money and do not create such topics. And, unfortunately, there are very few of them.
I agree with you. He has left some questions. He has got the correct answer. But he has not been seen here anymore. Did he understand the answers? Or did he not understand? He may have many more ideas. If he had, he would have come here. He posted the last 6. Then he did not post any more. I don't know what to say to him. But one thing is that he came here for merit.

To be honest, regardless if he reads the answers or not, the good thing is that this became a discussion for new members also that are browsing this topic. They might not comment or reply in this thread, but at least, the general answers have been posted in the first page of this thread.

Treat this thread as a beginner's guide to the forum, in general. Even as a hero member, there are some rules that I am not even familiar about; that is why visiting threads like these keeps me refreshed from all the general and forum rules.
3270  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin (crypto) worth anything at all?? on: June 26, 2021, 08:11:24 PM
Just to answer some of your questions, printing money would result to hyperinflation. This would render the value of the currency almost as worthless due to the supply of money in circulation while having little demand. Like what happened to Zimbabwe, their currencies are denominated at 'one hundred trillion dollars' but its value is relatively low due to its ongoing over supply in the market.

The value of cryptocurrencies depend on how much money people are willing to pay for it. Although it may sound easier than it looks, the potential of cryptocurrencies as the future of transactions is starting. People are taking into consideration the value of the blockchain technology and its modern usage in shaping the future of all the transactions made.
3271  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Roicapital.online | Ponzi Scheme on: June 26, 2021, 06:59:20 PM
Ohh nice catch, @Coolcryptovator.

I visited the the thread link and that guy just casually slipped in this website in his post in a very casual manner. Good thing that most member noticed it right away that this guy is attempting to promote a ponzi-scheme. Anything that offers daily returns with a minimum required deposit is indicative that they are a ponzi-scheme. I mean, no business model can handle such returns in a long-term basis.

I will tag the user and keep up the good work!
3272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recognizing Gambling Disorders, Symptoms of Severe Gambling Addiction on: June 26, 2021, 06:33:55 PM
Things people do for their enjoyment.

So do gamblers consciously know that the have a gambling problem and choose to deliberately ignore it or they unknowingly  continue with the toxic gambling habits without reading the signs in front of them 🤔

How does it get to be a gambling disorder 🤔
I doubt that they will know if they have a gambling problem because gambling can give them interest and pleasure in playing many gambling games. They can forget about how long they are already playing gambling, which can become toxic and addiction sooner or later. Without realizing how to prevent playing gambling too often, they will still play and they will not listen to others if those people warn and suggest they stop gambling. Maybe it will not be a gambling disorder for the gambler itself, but for people who know the gambler better, it will look like something wrong already happened to that person, so they need to warn him to realize that.

I think most gamblers will try to defend/rationalize their addiction by saying that it purely gives them entertainment. I mean, it is relatively hard to argue with someone who is suffering from addiction, especially if they do not know that they are the ones experiencing it.

This is primarily the reason on why having a good support system can really tell you if you are a gambling addict or not. People around you would start to notice and they would do anything in their power to fix the situation. While I also understand that change must really comes within, but having to know that you have someone or somebody that probably cares for you would most likely help in the process.
3273  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Honestinvest.net || Completely honest investments! || 10% week/45% monthly on: June 26, 2021, 02:27:58 PM
To be honest, as much as I admire the honesty admitted, the project still fails to give any assurance to any of the investors. Although investing in general do involve some risk, the business framework of this project shouts really as a scam.

There is no guarantee that any of the promised rates would come into fruition. Even if they do mention their so-called 'secret', I doubt that it will affect the general consensus of this project tagged as a scam.
3274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your worst mistake on: June 25, 2021, 04:27:30 PM
I am a newbie on this forum. My main focus is trading ( crypto) I have been trading for a couple years. Just curious to ask a question : what was your worst mistake ( in the very beginning, 1st year).
Would be happy to read about your experience !

My worst mistake so far was selling almost all of my coins whenever I receive them from my past campaign signatures.

I remember back in 2017, I was just a young person who was hoping to earn money online. As someone also who grew up in a household consisting of a single dad and 3 brothers, I reluctantly withdrew and cashed-out almost all of my BTCs whenever I receive them as payment from participating into campaign signatures (1 BTC = $40-50k).

Looking back, if I had not touched my BTCs back then, i would have accumulated around $20k BTCs right now which would significantly help my dad into his expenses.
3275  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Investment opportunity of earning returns of 5% Daily. Genuine or Fraud? on: June 25, 2021, 04:06:48 PM
Meh, there are lots of investment platforms that offer the same rates with their outrageous interest rates in hopes of attracting people in the project. Once you invested into them, they will slowly run away and the proceeds that you should be receiving would be in an endless loop of errors and bugs.

Ponzi-schemes are so rampant nowadays that they try to conceal themselves as a legitimate/genuine business investment. They may present themselves with attractive rates and promising business framework but almost all of their end-goal is to profit then to run away.

To be safe, please try to avoid these businesses that offer daily rates that are so good to be true.
3276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It takes years to build a reputation and seconds to break it on: June 25, 2021, 02:24:58 PM
For a business to build a reputation, it takes a lot of money and time to be invested to achieve this through marketing, brand awareness and all other activities.

But my question is why would they risk all they have invested to a few players by scamming them? I for one know the forum will side with the player that have been allegedly being scammed in most cases but how do casino's/bookies  protect themselves if not terms and conditions?

If people buy reviews to paint a picture of a good standing business,  what would stop the competition from buying people to tarnish a competitors reputation to have an advantage in the business?

You know, it is very hard to predict what is going on inside the minds of these people.

Just to give you an example, there are profitable and well-reputated members here in the forum and it took them years to build up such reputation. They received lots of positive trust from the members here and they gained mostly the trust of the members here. Unfortunately, some got involved in a loaning scam where they defaulted as they never went back again here in the forum.

Imagine, building up your reputation just to destroy it in seconds. The reason might be obvious: it's all because of deception for money. But, what they failed to realize is that what they did only satisfies their short-term needs.
3277  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit thread] How has the forum affected your journey in the crypto space? on: June 24, 2021, 03:40:28 PM
I remember when I first joined this forum, my mindset was just to earn money. As time passed by, I began to appreciate cryptocurrencies more and my focus shifted on learning new things about the crypto-space. I started attending conferences in my country and learning basic trading. I also started reading into the ICOs of altcoins thinking on what coin would be profitable.

The key here will always be your goal. The more you think about pursuing such goal, the more that you would be passionate about learning new things that is relevant to it.
3278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: June 24, 2021, 12:20:19 PM
I've become less, and less interested in boxing the more that I've gotten into UFC over the years. But, I am interested in hearing what seasoned, die hard boxing fans actually think of these cross over events that have happened over the last few years. Conor, Logan Paul, and Jake Paul. Obviously, there has always been white collar boxing events, and cross overs from different sports, but it seems its becoming more frequent recently, with some MMA fighters showing a desire to get involved with Boxing simply because you earn more money.

I grew up watching boxing matches due to the influence of my father as he is a die-hard boxing fan. Every fight, the family would gather and treat it as an occasion where our relatives would visit our houses and eat/drink while watching these matches.

To see that most boxing fights nowadays are between crossover fights from UFC fighters kinda hurts my soul. The spirit of competitiveness is just not there. The hunger of dominating your opponent and watching them fight to death (with actual tactics and techniques) are becoming obsolete due to the fact that most boxers tend to focus more on the cash prize than the actual title.
3279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Given some bitcoin for no reason - too good to be true? +, Mycelium question. on: June 23, 2021, 09:37:31 PM
This type of scam was famous back then and lots of people (even veterans) fell to this trap of requiring you to deposit in order to claim your so-called 'free' BTCs.

One thing I learned throughout the years is that, there is nothing free in this world. Everything has their own benefit and repercussions as there is no absolute 'free' thing that you can gain. If you really want to try it out, then follow the suggestion posted by jackg and create a new account for safety purposes.
3280  Economy / Economics / Re: When everybody tell you take take risk with money on: June 23, 2021, 09:16:43 PM
I think there is no absolute formula of getting rich without risking their resources. The difference between risking your money if you are relatively 'poor'  compared if you are rich is that, the latter has the confidence and the resource of having to invest. Meanwhile, relatively 'poor' people are risking almost everything that they have in hopes of getting rich in the future.

Everything boils down to the risks involved if a person really wants to be rich. The more money you risk, the higher the chances that the returns will be great. But in the event that you do lose your money, you are back to square one on how to produce such again.
