2441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 31, 2022, 07:14:25 PM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!

Whoah, that is some serious dedication that you have OP!

Given the fact that you have not cashed out your BTCs yet, I am assuming that you are somehow financially comfortable with your situation? If I were in your shoes, I would probably cashed out my BTCs when its price reached an ATH on the last quarter of 2017 ($20,000). Since you also do not see the need of converting them to cash, them HODLing them is definitely the way to go.

Generally, I see BTCs as a form of investment and money. The only time that I see the need to cash them out is that if I am in a situation where I need the money for some emergency purpose.
2442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your criteria to go back/sticking with one particular gambling house on: January 31, 2022, 06:58:54 PM
Each casino operates on the basis of its reputation and standards to survive at the right time, you need to analyze and focus on the market. Bonuses and prizes are also important for casinos before you start gambling online it is important to accept responsible gambling rules adhere to these shots and you will be able to prevent problematic situations. Gamblers bonus online casino offers new players a promotional incentive that can also find a specific gambling site.

Customer service responses is what makes or breaks an online casino. Given that its nature primarily existing within the sphere of the internet, issues when it comes to payment, connection, withdrawals, and other related matters are one of those things that are to be expected- that is why an active customer service is key in addressing these concerns. Their timeliness in addressing these issues would at least feel the required security and assurance that they acknowledged such and is being handled accordingly.

Like some have mentioned, reputation is also important in choosing your casino. One would always prefer to gamble in a casino that is proven to be trustworthy compared to a relatively new online casino, even if the latter offers bonuses and freebies.
2443  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 31, 2022, 06:45:37 PM
sinabihan naman nila ako na it will take their team daw 8-15 days to review yung mga pinass ko na documents.

Grabe ganyan na ngayon sa coins.ph? 8-15 days? Parang sobrang tagal. Sa Enhanced Verification yan?

Yup, sobrang nagulat nga din ako na napakatagal na kailangan i-review ng team nila yung documents that I passed for enhanced KYC. I mean, naiintindihan ko din naman sila pero sobrang naging inconvenient lang ito sa akin to the point na they asked for my personal BTC account email, username, and wallet IDs.

Quote
Hala pati ito necessary? Grabe na pala ang verification process ngayon. Need talaga idisclose ang nga specific na transactions especially the regular payment you are receiving weekly.

Sabagay, para wala ng question sabihin na lahat.

Actually bro, sobrang nagulat din ako when they asked for my forum account. Somehow, nag vent din ako ng frustrations ko sa kanila kasi sobrang dami talaga nilang hinihingi. Member ako sa coins.ph ever since 2017 and nakakagulat lang na sobrang higpit talaga ng ginagawa nila ngayon. After sending all of my documents, screenshots, etc. nag hihintay pa rin ako na sana tumaas na verification level ko.

2444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best strategy for crypto trading on: January 31, 2022, 06:25:17 PM
Hello guys what's your best and accurate strategy when it comes trading crypto? because to be honest i've been learning and at the same time trying to trade live using common strategies such break out, trend line and some pattern that i know but seems not giving me a good win rate. Any suggestion or tips and what's your best strategy especially those who used to day trade? I'll appreciate your input guys.

When it comes to trading, experience is the key in order to have a successful run on your platforms. What I personally suggest is that you must first experience the market itself by trading personally. Use only small amounts of resources as your capital since what you are aiming for here is the experience and knowledge of reading the market. After having completed this step, you may proceed to do your own research and consider both internal and external factors that drive the price of cryptocurrencies.

Remember that trading is risky especially for beginners. Always aim for experience and avoid also being too greedy.
2445  Economy / Gambling / Re: If your games aren't provably fair, stop claiming they are. on: January 31, 2022, 05:40:03 PM
Only problem here is that not all players have the technical skills or are technical enough to know which casinos are genuine with their claims and which aren't. I see the provably fair as a motto on almost all crypto casinos. Since I don't know how to verify those claims, I just end up sticking with casinos that has been proven to be provably fair and sticked with them.
A little research would do but as you said not everyone would catch-up what could be a provably fair if someone like us doesn't have any idea what or where to look for them. All we have to do is follow the reputable one that has a good reputation or if most people would recommend it to you. We really don't have any idea how to verify it so yes, sticking to the proven one is our only choice but could it really be a proven one if the above said that we can't verify it though if we do have the technical skills to verify it?

I think most casino users don't pay attention if casino is provably fair at all, because they don't even know what that means. Few people are able to verify whether a casino is provably fair, or whether it only claims it for marketing purposes. That's why there are communities like this on Bitcointalk. I think that part of review services also checks it honestly, so you can also confirm it there.

This is an interesting take on the subject. Personally, my first priority would always be to look for an online casino that is genuine and legit. After such, I would use this forum to check for feedback and if they also have an active customer support system in case of issues on payments, etc. But on the matters of provably fairness of slots, these are the stuff that I generally ignore as the reputation of a gambling website speaks for itself.

Personally, if an online gambling website has been around for a couple of years, it speaks of itself if they are using such fair methods (or rigged results) as people would either continue staying or leaving the website in search for another.
2446  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Germany, am I legally required to prove the origin of my BTC? on: January 31, 2022, 05:09:49 PM
Let's say I am a law-abiding German citizen, but I have 3 BTC, that have been swapped from XMR and I can't prove the origin of them at all. Then after holding for 1 year, I cash them out tax free to my private bank account via coinbase or something.

Can the fiscal authorities (Finanzamt) then force me to prove the origins of my BTC? What if I don't do that. Would I be doing a crime, even if I am not money laundering and there is no further evidence in that direction? What crime would that be? Could they take my money?

Though this may be determined in a case-to-case basis, generally, it depends upon the quantity of BTC on your transactions.

The laws of Germany may be different but speaking personally from experience, some local exchanges in my country ask for the reason/origin of the BTCs that I owned. In order to maximize the perks and limits, I have to disclose and provide KYC documents. I do think that similarly in your question, authorities may ask for the origin of your BTCs as 3 BTC is significantly huge, given its price on the market.
2447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin White Paper - Now available in 40 Languages on: January 31, 2022, 04:47:13 PM
Does it really matters if Bitcoin Whitepaper is available in different languages ?

Full read:- Milestone: Bitcoin whitepaper is now available in 40 languages

It does matter- like it is the core and the very foundation of cryptocurrencies.

The fact that most countries have adopted and translated the whitepaper of BTC show on its widespread popularity gaining over the years. Though when I first read the whitepaper and I literally did not understand it, the fact remains that countries have impliedly accepted its existence, thereby paving way for its implementation in the future.

I just do hope that there would be like another document or like a TLDR version of the whitepaper for newbies/beginners who are not knowledgeable on the technical terms that is contained.
2448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't give information instead share information. on: January 31, 2022, 01:00:54 PM
I think giving and sharing the information they have is equally helpful here because many people that have different opinions. What is certain is that we must be able to sort out which information  that is good to take and which is not, so we don't take the information at face value. in the sense that it is not patronizing here or if it is wrong it needs to be justified because the information circulating here will be read by many members and learned by beginners. so whatever it is, whether it's sharing or providing information as long as it's good and useful, then it's good.

Sharing and giving information may respectively have their merits but you have the responsibility to filter out the information that you are about to share. While it may sound simple, this fact alone is responsible for all the fake data and research being spread across the internet. Unfortunately, people would believe the first thing that they would see thereby creating a landslide of misinformed people believing that fact "fact A" is true, which in fact, is not.

The point here OP, share only the information that you know coming from the right sources. While your intention is noble, it can definitely cause more harm than good if you are not responsible enough.
2449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: January 31, 2022, 09:25:58 AM
I think the best feature for casinos to exhibit, I will pick quick responsiveness first. This is to tell that casino with this feature are concerned about their customers, I will also choose quality design of the casino and security. Having nice games are is also a good features for a casino  to get.

The last point that you mentioned is something that most gamblers have took for granted. It is severely underrated when you talk about games that casinos offer on their websites. I remember before, there was this gambling game that I played that somehow convinced me to play and play due to the large bonuses and interaction I get. Yea sure, some old and renowned gambling websites may be ongoing for years but they also have to introduce new ideas/innovations to their games to attract more players as well.

2450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 31, 2022, 07:19:57 AM
The problem was their defense and that has been their problem for the whole year now. I do not know what they can do to fix it,

The Lakers' loss is not because of poor defense but Atlanta Hawks just really did a great job. There's a good Lakers defense but the Hawks always find a way to drain each of their shots especially during their run. Nailing shots even defended well is what they did.

In that game, I will prefer to discuss how the Hawks win, and not why the Lakers lose.

The Lakers also had a good field goal percentage this match. However, they grabbed fewer rebounds than the Hawks, and their free throws were awful. I would even say that the Lakers made free throws like Shaq. As for me, this was one of the main reasons why they lost this game. At least if they had scored 11 easy points from the free-throw line, then the outcome of the match could have been completely different.

I do think that Lakers blew their double-digit lead especially during the third quarter where the momentum was on their side. On the fourth quarter, all of the players explode in the Hawks explode. I also do think that it is noteworthy to mention that by using Okongwu on the last quarter was definitely a smart move from their coach. Given that Capela has a relatively bad FT%, Okongwu was at least able to close the gap with his plays and contribution to the court.

Given the track record of the Hawks, they are definitely a serious contender in the playoffs.
2451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: January 30, 2022, 11:39:57 PM

Its business but they should have at least followed on what the user had requested on when it comes to those kind of blocking or self exclusion because this is really part of their responsibility

but pretty much sure they had done it but this is actually on users fault in most case since he does know that he requested out something like that which he should presume that he wont

User asked to close his account because he is addicted. The casino continued to send him information about promotions. How could this be the user's fault?
If I make such a request and get a confirmation, why do I need to do additional tasks?

I somehow agree with you in this statement. When a person voluntarily quits the gambling scene, he does not only strip down his account but he also decides to leave it for good. Any kind of temptation that would lure the person into gambling again could be fatal, especially in the first few days/weeks of the person quitting. Just like in any other kind of addiction, the withdrawal of a person may start and this could lead to issues that would somehow force the person to go back into his addiction.

Once a person decides to leave the gambling scene, he also has the shared responsibility of informing people about it to avoid any potential issues. Like what OP had mentioned, he has the responsibility of telling stake that he does not want to receive any further email/promotions to his account.
2452  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: January 30, 2022, 11:19:46 PM
Yes, that's right, no place is completely safe, there's always room for error. But we can draw conclusions from all the places which are the lowest risk. When we know there is no place that is completely safe, at least we know which place is the lowest risk level, so we can minimize the problems that will occur.
One message from me, in the world of cryptocurrency, don't trust anyone, I emphasize to anyone, including those closest to us.

The risk depends upon the research that we made as investors. Since we are dealing with investments that could either make or break our profit in the end, it is very noteworthy to mention that it is essential that we do our proper research to minimize the risks that we are dealing with. Given that investing into BTC is actually a very risky thing to do, its price history it what compels me to drive and invest further.

As someone who invested and started my journey in BTC way back in 2017, it is fairly safe to assume that investing into BTC could definitely be profitable if you withdraw in the right amount and time.
2453  Economy / Economics / Re: Which business profit model do you prefer? on: January 30, 2022, 09:31:55 PM
I've been giving this a lot of thought lately, Which kind of business model would you prefer, will you prefer the kind of business where profit can be from both the rich and poor, that is huge profits occasionally and small profits daily?

Or the sort that only attends to the rich, and the poor cannot afford it, that is your profit is from the rich alone and usually huge, and comes occasionally?
Please give reasons for your choice

I would prefer a profitable business wherein both rich and poor people could afford it. If I will put up a business, I want to make sure that it would be affordable for everyone regardless of their social status as long as I'm getting a good profit from it. After all, the customers' financial status doesn't matter that much as long as I would have an effective marketing strategy.

This kind of business model is relatively difficult to materialize, as most business target profit as their main goal in the process. If you were to target "poor people" as your main customers, this would sacrifice the potential of profit-making in the process as you would have to consider the factor of being achievable and purchasable at the same time.

If I were in your position, I would focus on targeting people on the middle class sector as my main consumers as they would have the means to purchase or acquire the product. From this kind of business model, I would most likely be available to the general public as the price would be attainable at the same time.
2454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor has Acquired 121,044 BTC at $3.57 Billion on: January 30, 2022, 11:51:15 AM
People like Saylor think long term so short term price action means nothing to people like him. Most people panic & do nothing when the price goes down or even worse, panic sell. Chads like Saylor buy & have no emotion during times like this. He is thinking about the long term future.

It makes me really thing of an answer to this question: when is really the best time to purchase BTC?

I mean, due to its inflationary value and limited supply of 21 million, most people would view it as an investment whether for short or long-term. But in this case, where its price continuous to fluctuate, I really do think that the best time to purchase would be the day when you have the means for it. Long term HODLing can somehow guarantee large amounts of returns if invested properly.

With this acquisition, I think it is also noteworthy to mention supply and demand. If he does indeed, sell all of his BTCs, the price on the market may somehow change with the given increase in circulation.
2455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 30, 2022, 06:38:17 AM
The game between the Nets and the Warriors was truly a match to watch! Even if Curry and Kay had an off-night with only 19 and 16 points respectively, they show on why they can be a threat to the opposing team. The Warriors had a lead of 19 points on the 3rd quarter but they somehow blew such lead which gave Nets the momentum to lead by the 4th quarter. Kyrie was a beast especially on the last quarter, but Klay sealed the deal when he made that dagger on the final seconds on the last quarter.

Again, this is a game without Durant on the floor but I just hope that Warriors will continue this momentum from now.
2456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On which esports you place bets on: January 29, 2022, 07:25:41 PM
Recently, I was asked by one of my clients to check out which esports betting bitcointalk users are most interested. I wasn't really aware of esports betting much. Because I really don't gamble a lot. Can you please share which esports you used to place bets on? It would be a great helping hand to find out the right one. Client was interested in offering bonus for bitcointalk users.
The NBA live 2k e-sport game, I use to bet on that but too rare these days when I have more time at work. The funny thing it started is when I accidentally bet on it thinking it was the real game from NBA but to my surprise that it ended up quickly and I realized it was just a game played by players. I don't know if it's popular but I think it's best as well but too dependent on the player too and I don't know lot of NBA live e-sport players though.

I think dota 2, csgo, and valorant would remain as the top picks for e-sports betting due to its massive popularity globally.

By taking advantage of such fact, there would also be datas available on the internet about the winning streaks, statistics, and hero composition of teams in dota 2 that would be considered as essential data for gathering information on which team to bet on. If you are also familiar with the game, then you may consider some teams of your liking for your client.

In CSGO and Valorant, the gameplay may be fundamentally the same but the latter game introduced abilities where it became unique. I would suggest that you bet on csgo since you can get lots of information also from streamers on YouTube.
2457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there still opportunity here for lower rank? on: January 29, 2022, 06:51:54 PM
I'm into this forum since 2017, not that active but today I came back since this pandemic force me to continue my journey in crypto market.

I've been part of many bounty before and participate on bounties last year and guess what, some of them didn't pay at all.

Any tips on how to look for a better project and what can I do to increase my rank?
Don't get me wrong here, I still consider myself a newbie and hoping to hear your advices.

In terms of projects, it actually depends upon your skillset on which people are looking for. Under the services section, usually there are people who hire web developers or creators in order to create them a website for their respective coins. Usually, the pay is in BTC and you may earn from this method alone.

If you are planning on participating into campaign signatures, then it is essential that you contribute something beneficial to the forum in order to receive merits on your posts. Though lots of newbies consider this as a barrier in ranking-up, this necessarily helps the forum in filtering out users who spam across boards with nonsensical replies.
2458  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: January 29, 2022, 06:22:04 PM
Ok na iyong account ko bro and just sharing my experience nung naging custom account ako.

Yup this is true. Though until now nag hihintay pa rin ako na ma-approve yung enhanced KYC documents ko, sinabihan naman nila ako na it will take their team daw 8-15 days to review yung mga pinass ko na documents. Actually, included din yung username, e-mail, and campaign signature transactions ko dito sa forum as part of the required documents para siguro hindi sila magtaka kung saan nangagaling yung weekly BTC. Though I also explained din naman sa kanila na kasali ako sa campaign signature kaya at least alam na nila to.

For the enhanced KYC documents, check mo tong link na to for the acceptable documents na hinahanap ni coins.ph:

2459  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: January 29, 2022, 06:09:33 PM
Very immoral market strategy? No,I see nothing immoral here.In these Video You can see how to played and how to winning big amount. Yeah i know most of them they are paid  reviewer and promote and use their reffer link.Gambling is our much responsibility. I think It's Marketing strategy is normal. Coz they are showing real things.

Like what I previously mentioned, it is somehow difficult to draw the line on what is considered to be 'immoral' as paid advertisements and projects may NOT be considered as such. Remember that these YouTubers or influencers do these kinds of stuff for their income also. While it may sound selfish, I mean it benefits them when they get paid to advertise such online gambling platform.

Personally, what is immoral is when online casinos tend to advertise their websites and intentionally tampers the rates of winning. Like they employ influencers but they rigged the chances of winning, causing it to at least fool the majority believing that you can win large amounts of money or experience a winning streak.
2460  Economy / Economics / Re: One nation one currency... on: January 29, 2022, 05:51:42 PM
From the beginning of humans, we have created boundaries between ourselves by lots of conflict over the century. Our greediness and eagerness for more power make us intelligent animals. Humans are capable of their own destruction. But what if those never happen? what will be the scenario of the current world if there is only one nation and one currency and humans invest their full strength for human resource development and the development of science and technology? What do you think is that even possible in the future and what will be the benefits and inconvenience of it?

This is definitely will not happen. Given the fact that there are countries who are underdeveloped, developing, and developed countries, the variance among their respective treasuries and value of currency would be against the these poor countries. The rich will only become richer, and the poor will become poorer as they will be deeply prejudiced with this kind of setup.

Though having one universal currency may sound a good idea that could potentially solve issues with regards to transaction, I honestly believe that it would bring more harm than good.
