End of next week, is here now.. running out of patience.

While we have send out some chip orders, there is currently ~200k chips stuck in custom right at this moment for about 2 weeks now, this matter is very painful for us and our customers. As majority of the chip orders ( 70% ) totaling ~800k is made between early and mid-may resulting in a tight time frame to work with. We do have more chips coming in via different route next week which will ease this a little bit. (you can take this as chips will resume shipping by end of next week for now.)

We can expect them In Two Weeks™
Did you talk to yifu? and know something no one else in the world knows?
3462  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 16, 2013, 03:08:04 PM
Best thing that can happen today, is for yifu to log in and give us a frank and honest update.... give us the good the bad and the ugly, on wtf is happening, if he knows.... all this speculation and rumors and theory is all just that. We need some facts here. Till then Huh

Edit: Only fact we know, is the chips are late and not here.....
3463  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 16, 2013, 02:10:40 PM

late next week™

And zero communication for the past week..

The wait will continue...

Yifu kept his promise. The long awaited chips were successfully delivered this week - all 30 of them!

yes indeed, a token of his appreciation.....

late next week, is here...still in customs? right"

The sample chips were unexpected, and they used multiple routes. Some had tracking, some didn't.
ya those sample chips still remain unexplained. a little bizzar...but it shows that something is still happening in the shipping department. Someone had to package them and ship, unless it was a stall and delay tactic.....smoke and mirrors.

so some have speculated that the address 1FGAftzSTztFSB8LMwsrdCKTyqGY6zr3sU belongs to Avalon.  well 10000btc just came out of that wallet after it has been dormant for almost 2 months.  any ideas anyone?

One could only hope that massive refunds are incoming.
Or... they are settling accounts with Fab/chip packagers.

Lots of 2000BTC transactions going here: 158mVoizfU3xPxGGchGtnsKSixGs9XTo6v

I have asked and been vocal about refunds, but that REALLY sux for the people who stepped up to manufacture Avalon powered boards. If we/I get a refund I'm sending at least 10% to the board assemblers I had lined up.
wow your right...whos address is that??
kinda looked liked one of mine for a second there...lol
3468  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 15, 2013, 06:35:44 PM
Im beginning to think yifu doesn't have a clue as to where the chips are...mush less anyone else" which is lame. We/I really need to hear something today.
3469  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 15, 2013, 06:05:19 PM
I'm one who bought and isn't participating much in this thread...

So what's the latest "short version" of the story?

Chips are stuck in customs, and are "two weeks" away from delivery from Avalon?

TerraHash has all the other parts necessary to build/ship/deliver other than Avalon chips?
not sure about the 2 weeks away from delivery,,,maybe never  all else is correct
3470  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 15, 2013, 05:34:02 PM
A snipit from coindesk article:

One of the first to try and source Avalon chips was TerraHash, which has been producing two mining boards: a 4.5 GH/sec unit with 16 chips, and a 64 chip 18 GH/sec model. The firm will sell the boards individually, but has also been offering preassembled boxes that can take either the 4.5 GH/sec boards, or the 18 GH/sec units. The DX Mini offers up to 90 GH/sec with 20 of the smaller boards. The DX Large will take up to 10 of the bigger boards, for a total of 180 GH/sec.

The problem for this company is that it is still waiting on Avalon chips, and hasn’t been able to fulfill customer orders. That’s unfortunate, because the company had changed its policy in June to begin accepting preorders – and later decided to change its refund policy, declaring all orders final. The company would not return our calls.

Avalon says that it is still waiting for its chips, 200,000 of which it says are stuck in customs. It has 800,000 orders to fill, it admits. It has also battled allegations that it was mining with its own chips.

Of course we all know the rest of the story"

So it's been a week since Yufi started this thread, still no chips. What now?

yifu said by late this week shipments should be moving again....well in my books,,,its now officially late in the week,,,I would hope for an update from him?? today!
3472  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: August 15, 2013, 10:55:15 AM

Prediction on the next delay excuse:

Note, I'm not making light of this, this is terrible for the family of the crew.
you should delete that man, thats a little tacky and we all know very highly unlikely....and yes terrible for the crew and family, but point well taken on the excuse front.....
3474  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 15, 2013, 04:07:15 AM
While all or most of what Silvas says is true, there's also the little matter of reality.  And getting a grasp on reality is very much the responsibility of everyone.

  • People bought from Terrahash in good faith expecting a certain delivery date, but knowing the product didn't exist.
  • Delivery didn't happen, and who knows right now when delivery will or will not take place?
  • People want refunds, but Terrahash can't/won't give refunds.  Most of their money is tied up in orders or components.
  • So your choices are right now to ride it out or take legal action.
  • Riding it out means waiting until Avalon delivers, or Terrahash calls it quits.
  • If Terrahash calls it quits they still have to get a refund from Avalon before you'll see anything.
  • If you take legal action it will probably take longer than waiting for Avalon, and cost you more.
  • Terrahash's obligation to you is to meet the product specification, (delivery being a separate issue).  I seriously doubt that any of you have a contract with them protecting you against loss of income for delayed product.
  • These are the risks that you undertake in buying anything from an unproven source, regardless of their responsibilities or obligations.
  • Crying about it doesn't get you anywhere.  Shit or get off the pot.

And if any of you are interested I've got a bridge to sell ....
lol,,ya the "bridge to nowhere" Smiley
3475  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 15, 2013, 03:57:48 AM
I purchased a K16 and a K64.

Besides a powersupply, what else do I need to get to get her to thrash?

I have a Dell mini laptop that I am going to use as a miner (gonna play with a raspi too, but gonna start mining with the miniDell first)

What cords do I need?

And when the time comes (pretty sure it will), what music should I play when I am setting it all up?

Here's the music sorted; http://youtu.be/6cGTsX3O-2E
thats about how long it should take to get everything set up and be hashing Atom,,, right  Grin  maybe ill try it....

3478  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 14, 2013, 02:48:00 AM
kkooks, if you don't mind please delete the terrahash screenshots...they really are annoying and your point was inaccurate with the facts. and they waste up a lot of space Smiley
3479  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 14, 2013, 01:57:53 AM
okay... thanks for the clarification? and why is this coming from you not terrahash?
Gottit you have lots of orders and have preferential treatment (?)

No he was able to get off his ass and go visit them instead of speculating on this forum all day.

I am just curious what happened to the 60x4 = 240 sample chips (or 120 sample chips... confused as hell right now)

Either way there is 67Ghash (or 33.75Ghash) of hashing power outstanding...
What are you doing with that hashing power Terrahash?

Better question, who did you give them to for crowd control...
Or...

Are you just hashing (oops testing!) and mining with our intrest free cash?
Wait nevermind... You never got them to work properly.

"you had me at hello"
Tell me once more that you (Bargraphics/KLife/Terrhash... who is who? confused as hell) had all the components ready, ON HAND, and to ship as soon as the chips arrive. - I think it'll work this time.
kkooks,,,ya know,,Im sure everyone loves you in the world,,,but you sure are like a pesky fly that won't go away and let us enjoy our dinner....good gosh! enough already  Cry
3480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: August 13, 2013, 10:22:43 PM
Now on the otherhand, if TH put out a reassurance email, of guaranteeing a full refund should we never receive our product, then i might would be inclined to wait and see" on the chips,,, but we have nothing to go on at this point?

Miner, TH already covered this in his last message. You wouldn't get a full refund if Avalon chips don't show according to the below quote.

We have only ordered components that were either absolutely necessary for assembly (BOM components) or ones that had a big lead time (Cases, heat sinks, cables). Boards and PSUs, once ordered, can be delivered within 24-48 hours. The reason we did not spend money on these is, in case Avalon chips never show up, we would be able to refund some of our customers money.

Again, in case the chips never arrive, we might be able to return a portion of everybody's money. But if you insist, we will go ahead and order PSUs/PCBs etc and spend all that money. Your choice!

I know atomic, I read that to, was just trying to drop a hint to TH to come off their no refunds or refund "some of the money" stance Smiley
