361  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 26, 2015, 08:02:53 AM
Ummm and is there a point?

Topic seems way off track here.

And neatly we have some newbs pop up with strange and wondrous SPtech hardware failures.

I hope Spondoolies tracks down the units and provides compensation but I bet there is something peculiar in these complaints.

362  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: April 26, 2015, 07:56:57 AM
I'd be most worried / aware of this type of Gleb post.

Even though Michal has well-demonstrated that he's well-versed as to the going-ons and how this forum and its users operate, I guess an example is still in order as to why Jell-O does what it does.

The following is the second post of an iconic, still ongoing thread:

More detailed chip specs please?

Next, is its most recent post one and half years later:

Ok. Now will you let this thread die since the company isn't selling anything?
It's not like this thread, the main one discussing this scam, has to die only because you want to due to a spammer. You can always unsubscribe if you can't stand his tactics.

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against this thread. My beef is with the HF shill reviving this thread for nothing. If you or anyone else would revive this thread with some useful information I wouldn't complain, but when iceshilltard is reviving this thread with useless information that pisses me off. But even so, what would be more to discuss about this company that has a bigger percent than BFL of its customers pissed? The company was sold for 400k. What's more to talk about it?

In case you missed it Michal Krawczyszyn, HashFast demonstrated transparency to the nth degree, then still fucked everybody over, and they didn't have a single pseudo-SSL symbol on their site at the onset, whereas you have at least three non-functioning ones on most every page, even voicing how that in and of itself makes EMIC a viable entity. Now, if you had Skropenis on your team, then maybe, just maybe you would've had a shot at stardom, but not now. Ergo, every ounce of energy and funding you've put into this clever scheme of yours was all for not.

I say that's one helluva Christmas present you gave yourself and everybody else that may currently be part of EMIC.

There are a hell of a lot of shady people in this hardware section between those that support scams unwittingly and get tainted with the scam. As well as bought and paid for shills hell bent screwing over DIY builders or competition. Have a quick look at the latest posts on offer in the Spondoolies Tech thread for that smear campaign. It is pretty hard to trust ANYONE. Keep doing what you are doing. Don't take any money and do it your way. Simple. Clean. No confusion possible.

That is the best way and it will be the only way to keep anyone out of your business who is wishing you harm. Not every chip supplier is keen on being there for DIY be wary of that even if they are openly putting a positive face forward here in this forum.

In conclusion, Libya is a land of contrasts.

The biggest mic drop in these forum in years. Well said.

364  Other / Meta / Re: Re: how do I make new threads? on: April 23, 2015, 10:37:08 AM
Thanks for the background info. That should help narrow down things a bit. Easier to dig up info on Eastern US based people who are likely to trend towards team Allcock.

Also thanks for history/ terminology lesson. Appreciated.

You used what software and sample size to do that collocation analysis? Are you trained to make that assessment? Does your assessment include the possibility an account is shared?

Collocation analysis cannot be used to differentiate different identities like that it is only useful for finding a lead but it does not prove two individuals are the same person. In fact I have not ever heard it used for this purpose, normally you would expect stylometic analysis to be used as collocation wouldn't work here due to a lack of context-neutral speach (we're all talking about Bitcoin).

IIRC Quickseller has sold items from his account and those items were shipped from east coast US, Dogie is in the UK according to your sig. This explains why the stats pages are off by a few hours, the timezone gap.
365  Other / Meta / Re: Re: how do I make new threads? on: April 23, 2015, 10:16:37 AM
It seems as though you have created this thread simply to state Quickseller has alt accounts. Creating an "honest" ponzi would be in fact quite profitable. Supported by the fact that the owners could be held accountable in reality if things were to go South. Even if not, it would still be quite profitable.

Seems there is a connection between the following.

Dogie
Quickseller

Funny how Wardick as well as others are immediately coming to their aid across a variety of threads. Interesting, how recently their interest has turned to these 2 accounts out of left field. It is almost if they are magnetically drawn to the threads with those two names right?

I wonder why someone would see the connection between Dogie / Quickseller and need to defend just those to two accounts given the wide range of other accusations that get made in the these forums Wardick seems overly enthusiastic in very recent time to these two accounts being challenged by the community about their ethical behavior.

I think someone is clearly "biased" towards defending certain accounts. I wonder what motivates such accounts?

I would question the validity of this account being independently controlled by an individual other than Dogie or Quickseller.

You just need to look at the posting hours of each account to see that this is an absurd claim.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=358020;sa=statPanel
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=85316;sa=statPanel
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=87869;sa=statPanel

Really...
Wardick and QS look pretty damn similar to me :|

Just read their posts and you can tell they're written by different people. Come on, even though you don't like QS, you can't tell me you actually believe this. Also, though the distributions look similar, one is shifted by a few hours, which is statistically significant when the distribution is of over 1000 posts.

You used what software and sample size to do that collocation analysis? Are you trained to make that assessment? Does your assessment include the possibility an account is shared? It really begins to look more like a coven when none of these accounts seem interested In an open dialog about the issues raised initially or call for the thread to be locked. Seems some accounts are more prone to that sort of tact ONLY in a couple of threads centered on Dogie and Quickseller. Nothing to see here move along just isn't going to cut it.
366  Other / Meta / Re: Re: how do I make new threads? on: April 23, 2015, 07:04:14 AM
More proof QuickSeller does not to deserve to be on default trust

- Aiding and abetting a ponzi https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1021240.msg11055166#msg11055166
- Selling hacked accounts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=884261.0
- Non-transparent escrow behavior (indicates scam attempt) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1018585.msg11034617#msg11034617
- Using multiple shills to push up th eprice of his sold accounts

Credit to an anonymous source for providing this proof Smiley

Ouch.

Well that certainly is interesting.

What does Dogie have to do with the Quickseller account? That be my next question.

@TheGambler

Currently there is a strong strong undercurrent of covering of threads with these accounts all backing Dogie and Quickseller. Given that there is certainly more digging that should be done into who the hell this Quickseller really is and what sort of trust should be given someone who uses multiple accounts to boost sales and run up prices. Unethical and why would anyone ESCROW with someone you don't know their real name and some sort of identification or IRL meeting. Most of these long con scams in hardware revolve around any number of people being anonymous and shilling the shit out of the hardware.

You start seeing patterns in these accounts all gravitating towards covering each others asses it begs the question is it one person not 4 or 5?

Ask your source about Dogie and his relationship to Quickseller he might know.

Arms Race

Guy gives you some good insights here.

Let us speculate.

Bitmain? Do they have the horses to continue? Likely.
Avalon? Does anyone think they could continue? Unlikely.

What is left for consumers here in this hardware forum? No one else.

369  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining with Solar energy on: April 21, 2015, 05:15:08 AM
I mine with solar energy. Works well for me. Lifecycle cost should be around 4.5cents per kwh where I live.

When you say you mine with it how many watts are you getting from solar?

If you don't mind me asking what did it cost for install, and what is your normal electricity price?

I have 20,000 watts (20kw) of solar power online currently. I'm bringing another 20kw online in the next 2 months (already installed the panels just need to hook up the inverters) and another 60kw over the next 12 months. My cost per kw installed is about $1.5/watt for grid connected solar system after all the state and federal incentives. Cost of electricity in my area is about 16cents/kwh

Batteries or just 12 hours of mining a day or supplemental of grid tied system?
370  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S3 batch 6 overclocking on: April 21, 2015, 03:23:06 AM
Solid eh?

We have some S2's still running on Freicoin network. Amazing they just keep going. We had to exchange out the flamed out PSUs we had with them originally though. They didn't last a month. We swapped out and didn't even bother RMA/Replacing via Bitmain just no point.

He's already out of my trust list.  Roll Eyes

http://gfycat.com/FlatBogusDeermouse

It is impossible, try again to put "~Quickseller" and after clear your browser cache, I am sure you will see his negative trust in the "untrusted section".

It takes some time to update.

If Quickseller thought the buyer was trying something he could've pointed that out and mention the changed terms. There is a good chance Quickseller left the feedback as he didn't like the loss in income. He has already shown he will try to earn even when the ethical thing would've been to not encourage scam sites.

Ding ding ding ding... we have a winner. He didn't get paid so acted like a prick.

Do not, repeat do not, do business with this guy. He is a prick.
372  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Appeal to Sig-Campaign Managers to Exclude "Meta" & "Politics & Society" on: April 20, 2015, 12:55:18 PM
Just left the dadice campaign as they've stop counting post on politics & beginners (where I mostly post). I respect their decision though, there are a lot of rehashed comments saying the same thing over and over again on the beginners board.

How many 'How to earn bitcoin' threads do we really need? Wink

Great SIG now Shogdite... must say not many people Chomsky / Democracy Now it in these forums.
373  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Appeal to Sig-Campaign Managers to Exclude "Meta" & "Politics & Society" on: April 20, 2015, 11:40:15 AM
Irony?

This OP is a hipster making money off the post.

The forum is struggling with spam and most of it is because people trying to make as many posts as possible to get paid higher. While discussing about good/bad about the Forum and/or about Politics and Society is not exactly spamming but people are desperately trying to post their views on Meta on Questions that were meant for Mods or are already answered.

Same is happening at Politics & Society, For ex:

CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9%
ISIS destroys Syrian Church on Easter Sunday
Why do islam hates people?
Miracles of Bible...
Etc..

These are some of the examples, people are hyper actively discussing about their views on Religion, Culture, Global-affairs and other such stuff, which as I said is not spam as that place is there for such discussions but I think some people are deliberately dragging these discussions just so they can increase their post count. Which I believe they wouldn't normally do if they weren't getting paid for it.

So my request is, simply exclude "Meta" and "Politics & Society" from the Pay-Per-Post board as Off-topic board is. And if the members still feel like discussing about World-affairs and/or the Forum they can do that without getting paid.

---------
ndnhc has already excluded "Beginners & Help" & "Politics & Society" to help bring down the spam and insubstantial posts. But I think Meta should be excluded too, as it isn't a place where companies would like to advertise.

2. Beginners & Help and Politics & Society will be excluded.
3. No spam will be tolerated.

Hoping that others Sig-managers see this and include this rule in their campaign from next week/month.
________
Kindly also exclude "Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns" as requested by thread owner, see below.
374  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 20, 2015, 11:35:40 AM
i guess we can say goodbye to ''home'' miners like sp20
SFARDs seems to be aiming at making at least one home miner using a single of their SF3301 chips.
Avalon has plans to make a 100Gh/s device based on their upcoming chip.
GekkoScience are aiming at making home miner designs based on Bitmain's BM1384 chips.

"home" mining isn't dead yet.
( the usual caveats apply )

Zombie... then. Not dead.

Yep, still running them ...

OC'ing them?
Or underclocking now?
377  Other / Meta / Re: BFL subpoena on: April 19, 2015, 06:10:25 AM
I'm surprised that BFL is such a small part of the forum. I was about to suggest you should just give them yesterday's forum snapshot Grin

Jokes aside... What the hell do we have to do with BFL? Why the hell should theymos be forced to lose time gathering all the information these guys need? If they need info, get them yourselves... Don't force your own citizens to work for you for free, gathering old information they have nothing to do about and sending them in if they don't bow to this... Pretty annoying.

As for the PM protection... I agree with Blazr. Losing your password would be a feature. But this also should be opt-in, with a big, annoying, one time warning.

Ignoring scams leads to this. Being proactive could resolve it simply banning BFL in 2012 or 2013 as things escalated. If you don't want to bother doing hours of info collation then eliminate the scammers sooner and permanently. No remorse here this subpoena has happened. It will happen again without any proactive measures by admins.

379  Other / Meta / Re: BFL subpoena on: April 18, 2015, 06:35:22 AM
I wonder when they will be requesting info on bcp19's alts. He's posted under:

Pokokohua!
badgerkiller
bcpokey
DaBitcoinGuy

Maybe a couple others I can't remember, but the guy just totally lost his mind (probably because of the subpoena) and revealed his latest alt account. Meh, par for the course when BFL is involved. Roll Eyes

Just check my trust for that complete list.
