Instead of Merit, they could add spamlinks to their post later. Many spambots have been doing that, usually with worthless posts. A few days later, they edit it and in many cases the backlink stays undetected for years.
I just hate seeing this crap on the tech boards. It's becoming more and more difficult to differentiate between a real Newbie who needs help, and useless spam.
Wow, really shady and polluting way of using the forums, I guess you're right, with bots getting more good with their way of doing things, it gets harder do see who's the real newbie, maybe the best thing that we can do right now is to find a way to tell quickly that someone is a newbie that asks for the genuine questions but sometimes there are some newbies that totally don't know if not ignorant that they're doing a spam posts so the way to distinguish them is probably a difficult thing unless of course we do some talking to them either via PM or through the spam, they'd respond to them if they're newbies for real and would immediately change their ways. What worries me are those that spamlinks because as you've said the backlinks are undetected for a really long time.

How about Newbie benbrian42?

Zerogpt.com says it's 99.2% AI diarrhea. OP was last active the second he created this topic. Is this a new thing trying to earn Merit, and if not, abandon the account?
Undetectable AI and Scribbr is both screaming red with the warning that the text is AI generated, we can probably even confirm what AI it came from if we do a prompt where we ask an AIs like ChatGPT or Bard if they've written this text, if there's close to zero changes or iterations, they'd definitely say that they did it but it's a different story when they did some changes. Regards to this possible trend of new accounts that would be abandoned once there's no merit coming in, wouldn't this be too much of work just to cheat on this forum? It's not like there's anything worth cheating for in this forum anyway? The signature campaign payments are pretty much peanuts in many of us so I'm really curious how the brain of the people that do this kind of boring and soul rending activity works, I don't know who they're but they probably need to find a job.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Years ago people laughed at me bcz of THIS on: March 15, 2024, 08:28:56 AM
4 Years ago they called me crazy psycho.
Can you quote on the people that have called you that? You can probably do good if you quote them all and paste it here but I got to tell you though, there's definitely people that have made profits during COVID and that season is definitely a time that bitcoin did made some pump and a lot of us never really expected it to go that high although some are hyping it up, they're not really believing that but then again bitcoin pump happened. I guess that the takeaway here is that just buy, accumulate, and hodl bitcoin when you think that someone is crazy and a psycho because they're yapping about the price of bitcoin going to an unprecedented heights and that there's a factor that's affecting because no matter what they say, be it a positive or a negative yapping, at the end of the day, bitcoin's going to win and if you just wait for that to happen, you're also going to get the win.
May nakahodl din kasi ako na Ronin at hindi na ako masyadong naglalaro ng ibang NFT games (in fact pati Axie) kaya medyo bias if not biased ako pagdating dito kaya take my opinion with a grain of salt nalang.
465  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Bagong game na nightcrows on: March 15, 2024, 06:35:31 AM

467  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Need Suggestion From Filipino Citizen receiving gcash from abroud on: March 15, 2024, 04:26:23 AM
If it doesn't have to be necessarily a crypto, you can probably tell your buyers to create their own AMEX card on GCash, I think that there's an option for that although I forgot where you can find it but once you tap on it, it will create an AMEX card for that GCash account. It's kind of weird that the buyer isn't adjusting when shouldn't that how it should be, the buyer being flexible on the terms of the transaction?
468  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Join the IT ARMY OF UKRAINE to fight the russian terrorist in cyberspace on: March 15, 2024, 03:41:27 AM
Some Russian IT people will join with you, just to see if you are good enough to catch them in their reverse of the Ukraine IT usage. Either way, they will chuckle.

Cool
That could be the case but I don't believe that they're going to let them in without a lengthy process to confirm that they're not in any way shape or form on the side of the enemy, plus there's a lot of Russian soldiers that are defecting to Ukraine right? Which means that there's a possibility that some Russian IT people might also consider defecting but now that I think about it, it's unlikely that they would since they're not in the frontlines. Also, wouldn't the people that are running this Telegram group be having some way to filter out who should be joining and who shouldn't, they'll probably even have to make you download a keylogger or maybe even reveal your identity or address so they can confirm that you're not serving on the other side of the fight.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 14, 2024, 03:24:27 AM
That's nice, seeing an young cub challenge an old lion is really good way to settle things once and for all, does age and experience defeat youth and inexperience. I hope that this fight is going to be real and if it goes through and both parties agree to do it with no more conditions besides what's initially agreed upon, it's going to be a blockbuster especially for old people because a lot of them haven't seen Tyson fight in a long time and this could be a way to unite Gen Z and Boomers and Millennials. Regarding who'd win the fight, I'd say that if Jake Paul is cocky and stupid, Tyson would probably knock him out but given the age gap, Tyson's age might've catched up to him and his killer punches might not be as killer as back in his prime.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 14, 2024, 02:48:33 AM
I don't understand why anyone would do that.  On one hand you win great right?  But what are you really going to get with that money that makes the risk worth it.  The other side you lose everything you've worked your entire life for.  This just doesn't seem like it makes sense.  More tangible things to be able to buy does not male up for a lifetime of blood sweat and tears.  No thank you.
If you don't understand why someone would do this kind of risky maneuver then that means you haven't felt the feeling of doing it because you've got nothing to lose anymore. I bet that he probably didn't even know that the risk is 50/50 because I've seen that he didn't hesitate but there's no eagerness too which can mean that he's ready whatever happens but not sure with the bet. Maybe we're so tied to material things that this concept of nothing to lose attitude is too alien to us, it's a good thing that we haven't experienced it though, imagine how chaotic this world would be if we've all got this nothing to lose, devil may care attitude, it's a fun one but chaos nonetheless.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: March 14, 2024, 02:10:53 AM
As humans, it's extremely hard to detach from your emotions when making decisions. It will always be there even if you don't want it to. In order to not get emotions in the way of your decision making, you should start ignoring it slowly. It's a slow process, but if you're doing it consistently, you'll have no problem ignoring emotions on difficult situations such as choosing a bet between your gut feeling and what the numbers and facts say.
Exactly, people that advices that we should be keeping our emotions out of the way when we're gambling doesn't know how to be a human, they really think that emotion is something that you can easily detach like a toy that you don't want to stop playing. I wouldn't recommend ignoring though, the best way is to harness it, kind of like how you redirect a flow of water to a different direction, embracing the emotions is probably the best thing that you can do and most of the time, it's not really that difficult to do if you practice it and in terms of betting, you've got enough time to do the right decisions anyway, when you feel overwhelmed, it's always an option to take a step back and relax a little.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 14, 2024, 01:10:50 AM
If we're not allowed to choose both since that's the best option with a little caveat on both, I think that you should draw the line first on what you're going to lose rather than what you're going to win because think about it, you're more likely to get more losses in gambling and if you focus on wins, you'd likely to be affected by a lot of losses that even if you win, you'd probably be getting a net negative in that day of your gambling session so losses first and then wins. When it comes to specificity in the line, the loss should be around 60% of your gambling fund for that day, if you're not making any progress right there you get to that percentage, you'd probably have a good time stopping and taking the rest of the day off.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the juice Worth the squeeze? on: March 14, 2024, 12:35:25 AM
That's not a really difficult question to answer my guy, if the lemon we're squeezing is gambling and the effort to squeeze is the investment that we put in it then I'd tell you that it's not worth it, you'd probably get a thimbleful at most and if you're lucky a small cup full but that's it, the effort that you'd put into it wouldn't be good, you'd be squeezing too much of the lemons but some of them don't really have the juice in them most of the time. It's a really good analogy on gambling and helps you visualize to some level how difficult it is to actually profit in gambling, that's why it's been recommended that you only gamble what you can afford to lose and not go all out just to be disappointed and lose your money and waste your time.
474  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had bought the previous ATH you're on profit on: March 13, 2024, 11:59:52 PM
As a long-term hodler, I can definitely attest that it's all profit at the long run, that's why I've always been doing DCA for a long time now and there's no other way for me but to make more money for myself, with all the profit that I've got through the years, it's actually a good thing that I believed in bitcoin despite the scare and FUD when the bear market is on season. But I have reservations about buying at an all-time high or price peaks of bitcoin though, I feel like that's the time that if you're doing DCA, the time that you should be taking it easy and instead save fiat for the cases where there's a possibility of a price correction or massive selling happens, you can easily get more bitcoin that way since you've got the money to buy since you took it easy during the price peaks.
475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Doing my bitcoin investment anonymously while left a friend behind. on: March 13, 2024, 12:02:14 PM
Should've told him the half truth at the least my guy, maybe you being quiet about your investment is for the best though, what I've recommended could only be done if you're a close friend though.

I guess that's a testament to the fact that once you decide to invest in bitcoin, just go for it and never doubt, look at you, you've got the money and the profit and you never doubted and look at your friend, now he's imagining the things that could've been, that's not how it should've been if you ask me but your friend doubled back on the decisions and you can't really force them to invest even if you've both planned to do it because then, you're going to shoulder the responsibility when he panic sells and losses a chunk of his investment.

I know that you're venting out OP and let me assure that you've done nothing wrong, what we invest into is a private matter after all, it's on your own volition that you'd want to divulge that information.
476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: March 13, 2024, 08:25:01 AM
It will eventually but not at the current halving, it's been my belief for a long time that if bitcoin hasn't reached a 100k USD in price, it's not yet the time to hope that it will be able to reach 1m USD. It will but it's useless to dream about something that's going to be impossible for the time being to happen, just take it step by step and you're going to be fine. Maybe when we see bitcoin get more adoption as time goes by and the demand will increase more than we expect then it's going to be not so bad to dream that bitcoin's going to reach 1 million in the near future.
477  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are still early in this bull run. Retails have yet come back massively! on: March 13, 2024, 07:30:47 AM
As much as I'd like to believe that we're in the bull run, it still doesn't place right with me that we haven't seen a big price correction yet and that scares me because that means I can never put all my money in so I can just wait for it to go up continuously and at the same time, I'm scared with the fact that I might miss out on selling now and then the price goes down and I can get in with more value than last time, I feel like the safest play would still be to hodl and DCA, then I just need to save the fiat that I've got right now in case of a big price correction, halving hasn't happened yet which means that this is not going to be the ATH for a long time.
478  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google is the best tools to trade Bitcoin anonymously - only search the way to - on: March 13, 2024, 06:26:54 AM
It doesn't my guy, your ISP wull still see what you're doing which means that you're not hiding anything since they can just do a search on your online activities through your ISP and they'd know what sites you've been visiting, I don't even think that Google is giving you real privacy because they want your data and they make money out of your data so they can sell it to companies that will in turn bombard you with advertisments of their products so I don't see how using Google will be of help for privacy trading. The only way to trade with privacy is through P2P or maybe even a physical P2P, that's the only way that would make you achieve a real private trade.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 years ago, WHO announced the pandemic, whole markets crashed on: March 13, 2024, 04:39:21 AM
The price dropped to approximately $5K at that time. Seeing that it's at $72K it's about a 1400% return in 4 years, not bad. For comparison, we can note that the S&P 500 had a return of 125% in the same period, which is not bad but far from the Bitcoin return.

This end of cycle can make us optimistic after the disappointing mid-cycle returns.
The pandemic wasn't all that bad to bitcoin too because even during the pandemic, the price was still able to continue surging in prices despite the fact that people are still locked out, the cash injections by a lot of countries to help with the pandemic actually helped because it's free money that led to more people investing into bitcoin that money although not all of them did invest so one can only imagine if everyone who received those cash injections bought bitcoin too, we would've seen much higher all time high at that time.

I hope that's the case, a good end cycle but still we have to be prepared for the worst, after all, bitcoin is still as volatile as ever so even what we hoped for or predict to happen, we're still going to be surprised with what happens next.
480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: March 12, 2024, 06:07:01 AM
The halving hasn't happened yet so make sure that you're all prepared to do something that's in the realm of logic, it's going to be crazy for the market once it hits the 100k USD mark but we have to understand that there's no corrections that has happened yet which means that it's not good to do some kind of all in right now, DCA is still the best thing to do, don't want to end up putting all your money in fears of missing out and then the correction happens which would cause some if not all to panic and those panics most of the time translates to panic selling leading to a lot of losses. My point is that despite the positivity in the market that's happening and evident right now, it's imperative that we keep a cool head no matter what happens.
