521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 09, 2023, 02:51:13 AM
If anyone has gotten used to gambling through crypto casinos, it's likely that they've become accustomed to games like dice. With dice everything is crystal clear: You know your winning odds and how much you are going to win if you roll within your target.
However with slots, you never know your win chance. You don't know what increasing your wager or coins does to winning chances and it's generally all so opaque.

Instead of winning chances there's terms like volatility and RTP,  which make little sense unless to the individual gambler. Honestly dice was complicated enough, slots are just too much. Makes me think that it could be on purpose. Players of slots seem to be unlikely to look into these details due to how complicated it is.

Has that been your experience too?
In the beginning though I don't know about anything on RTP and volatility of what the slot machine that I'm going to play. I just "believed" that the bigger my bet the better chance of me hitting the bonus play or good combination with wildcards and seeing the screen going on what we call "shower".

Sooner that I learn about what is the meaning of RTP. I still play slot games though, but not that much unlike before. I just pay them to have some fun and entertainment and I don't max bet anymore. Just maybe $100 or less in one machine and see how my luck goes and that's it.
522  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 08, 2023, 12:21:30 PM
And tomorrow night will be the final weigh-in, hopefully I can get to watch it live too (timezone difference). But yeah, Bill Haney is running his mouth and both camps are really disrespectful against each other and for sure fans are hype.

And if I'm not mistaken, tickets is sold out expect maybe those upfront and those expensive tickets.

Hopefully both can really bring their A-game here and they can back up their talks pre-fight.
523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 08, 2023, 09:29:45 AM
Have read that there is a rumor that has it, Canelo will be fighting Bivol in a rematch this May and it will be held in the 168-pound division. But the catch here is neither boxer would reach the 178 lbs come fight night, for me this is the same as the rehydration clause that Team Canelo is master of doing on their opponents.

What's your though on this guys, do Bivol would take the bait?
For the money? maybe Bivol and his camp will take this bait, however, you have to look at how the fans and boxing analyst will look at it,

a. Bivol is going down to a weight that he hasn't fought
b. Canelo is obviously negating what Bivol advantage has
c. Fans wanted Canelo to fight the young Mexican David Benavidez

For me, this is just money fight for Canelo. He should go with c, here, fight Benavidez, give him his due and then cemented his legacy by defeating him.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 08, 2023, 08:45:23 AM
Sometimes we become blind for a moment when faced with our biggest enemy, namely greed when gambling, the average gambler has experienced this, and I have too. We become like hypocrites because on the one hand we give advice not to take gambling seriously, but we gamble without thinking about the impact in the future. But what can we do, the rice has become porridge, we cannot turn back time and we can only deal with the problem as best we can. I hope the best for you.
Yes, and I also think that as gamblers, we wanted to take that risk with the money that we loan. I have done  this several times though, not that huge amount maybe just around $100, borrow from someone with interest and then I will just go play it online or even in traditional based casino.

And as the risk goes, sometimes I will win, but majority I will just ended up losing everything and when I thought I have the money already to repay and then win some. But sometimes greed takes over, so instead of the money that I should have won that night, I ended up with nothing.
525  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it Hold? BTC Targets $40,000 on: December 07, 2023, 08:22:38 PM
We are in period in the market when the market structure and time has started to agree and will we likely see things even move faster than we expected, as we approach Bitcoin halving season and this is why the moment we hit $40k,  it didn't take the market much of time to reach the current price of $44k ,and next year we may likely see Bitcoin start to do an increase in price of about 2k, 5k-10k in a single day. This is likely the last days we will see Bitcoin in such Cheap prices henceforth.
There are still several months from bitcoin halving, so still we can save and accumulate as much as we can before that activity. But the push could be coming from those who thinks that there is that approval coming already. I'm talking about the Spot bitcoin ETF regardless of who is going to get the approval first.

And with that, I think everyone should be still buying at this point as you have said, approval and then the block halving could be the catalyst for the biggest bull run that we are going to see next year till 2025. So we shouldn't missed this great opportunity right now.

As whether the price is going to hold at $40k, yeah I believed it will till the end of this year and it could even go higher.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's fee to our beloved miners on: December 07, 2023, 08:01:24 PM
We are now experiencing Bitcoin network congestion, which means that the transaction cost is very high. Others may be upset, but it is really beneficial to our Bitcoin miners. We cannot send Bitcoins to other wallets if there are no miners.

We are all aware that some argue that it is no longer worthwhile to mine Bitcoin since it is so difficult to obtain one while the prices of electricity and equipment are so expensive.

Bitcoin miners are an important component of the Bitcoin ecosystem, we should love and support them!
Of course there are integral part of the bitcoin ecosystem, but just remember that mining bitcoin is a business, it's cost them millions of dollars to have the kind of hashing power, running hundreds and thousands of hardware.

And with the entities behind the congestion, who knows maybe he is also making money from behind because of the whole ordinals and brc-20 congesting the network. So it's not the problem with the miners it's those people behind it who for me looks purposely trying to sabotage the network intentionally.

To all Filipino fans out here, just a heads up that Mark Magsayo will be fighting this weekend against Isaac Avelar of Mexico.

This will be a debut fight for Mark Magsayo on the 130-lbs division. As of now, no bookies have covered this fight but i think odds will be out two or one day before the fight as usual.

Got a feeling that Mark will be having a hard time in the super featherweight division because for me he is small for this weight category, just my thought but i want him to win as usual.

https://www.ringtv.com/661844-mark-magsayo-makes-junior-lightweight-debut-against-isaac-avelar-on-december-9/
But I guess he can't go back to 126-lbs no more, that's why he really need to go up at 130-lbs even if it's going to be hard for him at this weight class. And another interesting fight because it seems that his opponent could be a journey man already.

And as what we call it, a cherry pick fight for him or at least showcase his skills at this new division. And who knows, maybe he could be small here, but he will have to adapt and change his strategy as the now that he is in a new division.
528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 07, 2023, 09:25:24 AM
Kambosos is a better fighter than Prograis and Haney dominated Kambosos twice,...

I don't know, mate, but I'd like to ask how did you compare these two fighters and see that Kambosos is the better fighter than Prograis? As far as I know, Prograis and Kambosos haven't fought yet, while Kambosos only has two losses, both coming from Haney.

Prograis has only one loss, and that is against Josh Taylor. But that doesn't mean he'll easily lose to Haney just because he isn't undefeated anymore.

For me, it's not even close. Prograis is more proven. He is a 2-time world champion, has successful title defenses and even successfully unified his WBC belt against the WBA champion before losing a very close and highly debatable majority decision against then-IBF champion Josh Taylor in the UK.

Meanwhile, Kambosos was a one-hit wonder. He caught Teofimo's worst night of his life. Before Kambosos' title shot against Teofimo, he only won split decisions over Bey and Selby. Kambosos never successfully defended the belts even once as he was schooled by Haney twice. Old Linares and mediocre Jojo Diaz even performed better than Kambosos against Haney.

Early next year, we're expecting old Loma to travel to Kambosos' backyard in Australia for the vacant IBF belt. That's the last chance for Kambosos to show that he belongs to the top names of the division, otherwise, his victory over Teofimo was just a fluke.
I'm just trying to look at Kambosos and yeah he has a recent win against Maxi Hughes. So he will be line for the vacant belt from Haney. And it will be Kambosos vs the old Loma. But I think Loma can still win in that fight and it will proved that Kambosos win against Teo is just one of those lucky day in boxing.

And I do agree that Prograis has been tested already at 140 lbs, he used to be a champion here and just lost to a controversial decision against Josh Taylor. So we will see if Prograis can retain his belt or not against Haney who is moving up in this division. I think Haney though is just ripe for the 140 lbs class he doesn't have to drain himself that much so both of them are well hydrated and we will see who will last the 12 rounds.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 08:31:00 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.
I guess because we hate to lost that's all, and we blame everyone around us, our kids or wife or husband. The last 2 days I also throw my mobile phone because I did lost on roulette games and my mood changes as all. So what I do is to sleep it out and calm myself.

So just be careful for everyone, we all know that losing has also a effect on us mentally that's why what the OP describe is real and we are very angry with people around us. Control is the key here, and just like in my case, I try to do it by just shutting down my self from everyone until I was able to get control of my emotions and apologizes to the people around.
530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 06, 2023, 10:21:05 AM
This fight is fast approaching. We are only 22 days before this fight happens.

Just like on that poster/member above, i do also believe that there might be some upset of this upcoming match.
Im not that into those final words in regarding about winning but basing up on Tapales sparing partner.

“He is in very good condition,” Estrada said to GMA News. “His punches surprised me because speed and power are there. Nothing is impossible if [Inoue] brawls with Tapales. But even if they finish the rounds (and go the distance) I would still go with Tapales because he never lets up, punches a lot, closes the distance, and he is aggressive. I do not believe the people who say that [Tapales has no chance against Inoue] because he is a two-division champion and he is training hard. He is preparing hard and [is] ready to fight. From what I experienced in sparring, he is very strong.”

Source: Marlon Tapales Sparring Partner Estrada Says Tapales Has Great Shot At Beating Inoue: “He Never Lets Up” - Boxing News (https://www.boxing247.com/boxing-news/marlon-tapales-sparring/271422)

Preparation is intense and he do really knows on whats stake on here.

He need to practice a lot since he's opponent is much stronger than him, also many people doesn't believe that he can defeat Inoue so he should make it as strong motivation to continue. If he successfully win against Inoue for sure this will shut up those people think he automatically lose against Inoue. This is god fight to watch since both of them showing some spirit and there are local media starting to build up some hype for Tapales so let see how far he could go with this big challenge of his career.

For what we see on footage online we can see that Tapales is really on good condition and that is really a great sign that he can able to defeat Inoue so I'm thinking to bet some for him knowing how huge the possible return to get if he win.
Of course, he needs to train harder, if that is what you mean, Tapales has been in a lot of tougher fights though, and I think some of us here might not heard of him until he make that upset and win the other 2 belts that Inoue needed.

And I do agree, training is going to very hard for him, and his trainer could have been pushing him to give more than 100% in training because he will need it in the actual fight. Sparring with bigger opponents or at least with good and solid punch to measure himself against the power of Inoue.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People losing their Bitcoin is not a risk to Bitcoin: on: December 06, 2023, 08:54:28 AM
The truth is that people actually loose access to their private keys and will loose their bitcoin In the process and a lost bitcoin isn't even a disadvantage to the network but actually increase the value of bitcoin in circulation and so if you take all the security measures being shared in the platform for granted, you're putting yourself at a serious disadvantage because if you loose your bitcoin due to your carelessness, it's your loss and not that of bitcoin and I doubt their is a means you can use in recovering a lost Bitcoin without your private keys.
It's obvious though, even the man himself knows this:

Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.

And it's hard to recover lost bitcoins, due to several reasons, yeah carelessness is one of them. Although I think the latest breed of bitcoin enthusiast now are very careful about their bitcoin because they know it's harder to get know as compare to start of bitcoin, 2010-2013 era.
532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 06, 2023, 07:22:30 AM
I was a bit surprised to see the Pelicans beat the Kings last night. Brandon Ingram had himself a game though putting up 30 points. Zion was less impressive only getting 10 points but he did it on an efficient 5-8 from the field. Sabonis had a great night for the Kings, but Fox wasn’t shooting the ball well and I think his 10-25 gf performance was the difference.

Yes, Fox is their leading scorer, and if he shoots that ball badly, like that kind of percentage, they will have to suffer the consequences. But we have to give it to the Pels though, for putting a great effort to stop Fox.

And they have a lot of players who put good numbers like Herb Jones with 23 big points. At least it offset what Zion put as we expected him to put like 20 points and like 10 big rebounds. This is also a big upset as far as betting goes and hopefully someone get this one.

Kings is kinda an overhype team, they haven't proven anything yet, although they are good in the regular season but there's a tougher challenge in the playoffs where they need to prove themselves. The in season tournament is like a serious competition, same with the playoffs, since they lose, I'd say their playoffs performance or chance could just be the same like last season.
I wouldn't call them a hype team, I mean last year was just a start for them, and now they are trying to improved their positions after the needed experience from the Warriors lost last playoff and they are doing really good.

What a game between the Lakers and the Suns. It was the other way around, no more catching up from the Lakers as they build a huge lead. But the Suns was able to cut it and even take the lead. I thought that they are going to win, but Reaves went nuts in the 3rd quarter matching what has Durant is putting on. And he has a clutch 3 to make a good separate and Durant missing the 3 in the last seconds to at least send the game into OT.
533  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is Bitcoin Price Increasing? on: December 05, 2023, 11:40:59 PM
To me, there is nothing new to this,  and this has never been different from what we used to exuberance with the market because at some point in the past,  bitcoin has always been showing similar price movement and we shouldn't try to ascribe this one to any event or anticipated bull run,  this is just a normal market recovery movement and just for a short term,  to allow those that got in at around 20 or below to be able to cash in the profit in the short term.

Unless for long-term Bitcoin holders who may not look at the directions of the market at its present level,  and also giving the expression we are in for a long-term market recovery up until the next price break out that we can call a bull market.

but at least people feel happy because of this, especially for those who are still negative and seeing this market recovery, like getting a surprise, maybe they have been waiting for a long time,so let everyone rejoice because of this.
Definitely who wouldn't be happy to see that the price is going above $40k now? We might hit $45k if the FOMO is real. And perhaps the reason for the big surge is still the speculation about approval of Bitcoin Spot ETF. So everyone is very high on it  that we could see approvals already based on the positive sentiments of those who have filed. So it's just a matter of race on who will be the first one to get approval early next month.

So there is something that needs to be happy and excited, but we shouldn't sell any at this point though. Just keep on buying and selling, this is going to be fun to see that huge bull run that we all expecting next year with that bitcoin that we have save right now.
534  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2023, 10:38:27 PM
Celtics @ Pacers was a nice game today!! SO many lead changes and ties, that's what we want to see. Haliburton went crazy again. I wonder how you can make so many 3s with this kind of shooting form sometimes.
And no trainer ever tried to change that shooting form and it's still working. Quick release and his feet don't need to be set. Unlike what they did with Markelle Fultz changing his form over and over and he got so confused with it, thankfully he can shoot now but it took some time.
Yeah, who wouldn't forget about Fultz? He has one of the worst shooting form but in college it was very effective to him. But when he goes to the NBA, the team try to change it and so he was lost and so his career.

So I don't think that they will make the same mistakes with Haliburton, he is already known to be a great player and even if his shooting form is a eye sore for the majority of us, we will have to contend with that as it is very effective for him and just like the last game against the Celtics, he proved how clutch he is.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 40 Twitch accounts for gambling advertising on: December 05, 2023, 09:23:38 PM
This is something common, I have always said that being an influencer Translates into good money, it is something that I really admire that work, and especially for those who are already in a privileged position, that is, they have already created their Audience and their community, apart from the fact that with the additional work they can do for a casino , they will attract the community that can become a fan of the streamer, and this will cause more expansion in their community, because they will get many more people, more followers. , more people to their social media profile, and that at the same time causes a lot of money because they are people who find it easier to reach others, as long as the streamer does not lend themselves to dirty tricks, where they deceive or start supporting the casino, Projects that are Fraudulent, or scam, that is the risk that influencers have, that is why they have to study very well the company for which they will also do work.
To be honest, a lot of content creators don't care about what they are promoting as long as it's not something that is either against the laws of their country or it directly hurts the sentiments of a particular group of people. If they get a good offer, they would go ahead and promote the service or product without thinking a lot about the well-being of their audience, they would promote scam projects or casinos or might even advertise harmful products sometimes, with a precautionary text or line.

However, it's not the case with every content creator. There are a lot of content creators who are very genuine with their audience, they care for them and love them so much that they would never promote things that directly or indirectly harm them in any way because a content creator or a celebrity, they are created by their audience, they are nothing without fans and followers.
Yes, that's what going on live streaming services, if the content creator can get good money and offers for gambling advertisement, then they will do it. There are some steamers though that are going to be controversial as compare to others, or they could exaggerate their winnings and like shouting in front of their camera if they win big, but that is promotion I guess.

For one I see one famous streamers, and he is giving so much to his fans. Because when he had streams, he will draw something, like $20k to be like a winning for his fans and for his followers. No wonder though he can beat $1 million in just one spin in a roulette. Perhaps the casinos that he is promoting is giving him more.
536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think voting for Bitcoin to become a legal tender was the plan? on: December 05, 2023, 08:45:23 PM
Well, sometimes I look at the creation, price history and even read the white paper of Bitcoin and I would imagine what Satoshi wanted about Bitcoin and if he feels happy with what is going on now.

I don't think Satoshi would have want Bitcoin to even become a legal tender.  Satoshi said Bitcoin is for the common man and woman to accept in payment on agreement, that's a simple p2p. He never wanted authorities or government to come together in agreement for Bitcoiners to use Bitcoin. He wanted every man to do his thing in a decentralized manner. But I guess that Bitcoin as a legal tender will even make the government to put a very close eye on how every individual is spending their Bitcoin which was not meant to be so.

You can add what you think.
It was design to a payment scheme, borderless.  I think that is the main plan of Satoshi. However, things have change since them, we have Mt. Gox in the beginning or even the the first exchange "New Liberty Standard".

So there are a lot of transformation along the way that maybe Satoshi didn't imagine in the beginning. Now we have a country that uses it as a legal tender. However, I don't think that Bitcoin will be the legal standard around the world though, we still have the traditional fiat like USD and others as the world currency.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: December 05, 2023, 08:26:46 PM
There is always a possibility of getting addicted to gambling. It is a very thin line.
- first piece of advice is to stay within the community. Do not branch out on your own.
-Second piece of advice is to avoid non regulated, AML gambling site. You would be risking both yourself and your money.
- Third piece of advice is to start with a very small amount of money on your first series of bets.
-  Fourth piece of advice is to know when to stop and do something else. Do not be carried away.
- Fifth piece of advice is to get other hobbies and not use gambling as a crutch.

6th, Since crypto gambler holds crypto, watch for its price. If you branch out, branch out to trading. Learn DCA
And just like what we are seeing right now, prices are too high including the fees, so we might as well get out or simply hold our crypto.

When I first wanted to try out casinos just to see whether I could win something I didn't think whether I could be addicted to it. And I don't think I am after a few years. I don't see users get addicted to casinos when they start online. Addicted users I think started offline and ventured online which they got worse. If you started online, I see less chance of it happening.
That's the psychology of casinos though, whether it's physical or online. In the beginning we thought that we will not be addicted and just have some fun along the way. But after that first taste of a win, everything chances.

And most likely that is the chase for the rest of us that's why as a experience gamblers, we should be very careful or give advises to beginning regarding what we have seen and how not to get addicted to gambling.
538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nothing beats keeping them safe but I really want to know on: December 04, 2023, 02:26:14 PM
I don't consider this to be a stupid question, I just want to know why.

I can see that some crypto wallets this days are giving their users the option to create new wallet using 12 recovery seeds or 24 recovery seed, but I am confused to which one is safer and more stronger than the other.

Reading a lot about crypto wallet on this forum, I have seen where some said that 12 recovery seed is better and some said that the higher the number of the words the better.

I don't know which is which, but I trust that keeping your recovery seed safe either 12 or 24 is the most important thing to do.

Now what do you think that I am missing here right now? Anything at all? Which one would you prefer out of these two and why?
12 seeds is enough in my opinion, it's 132 bits of entropy:

https://electrum.readthedocs.io/en/latest/seedphrase.html#security-implications

Quote
Electrum currently use the same wordlist as BIP39 (2048 words). A typical seed has 12 words, which results in 132 bits of entropy in the choice of the seed.

Following BIP39, 2048 iterations of key stretching are added for the generation of the master private key. In terms of hashes, this is equivalent to adding an extra 11 bits of security to the seed (2048=2^11).

From the point of view of an attacker, the constraint added by imposing a prefix to the seed version hash does not decrease the entropy of the seed, because there is no knowledge gained on the seed phrase. The attacker still needs to enumerate and test 2^n candidate seed phrases, where n is the number of bits of entropy used to generate the seed.
539  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it Hold? BTC Targets $40,000 on: December 04, 2023, 12:50:23 PM
$40K will be reached soon, most likely this month. Currently the price of Bitcoin is around $39,400 , meaning that even a small-scale price increase is enough to penetrate $40k. Apart from that this positive trend also looks very strong, so I'm sure not only $40k but even $45k will be reached this month. For me at this time there is no such thing as selling, there is only buying and hold.

Bitcoin just crossed $40k off a 24hrs high and its currently sitting at $39,900+ very close to $40k. Some short traders may have sold on the $40k mark, but I'm not sure if it's worth it as bitcoin may not be able to pull back as far as below $35k at this current rate. Most people are now bullish especially with this most recent one. So, yeah most probably bitcoin will come after $45k this month and will probably close out at near $50k .
There will still be selling that will take place as we see a gradual increase, but the buying portion will be stronger this time with just a couple or more months left before the halving takes place. Another thing to look forward to is the post halving price.
It has been broken already, and as we all know, whole numbers is hard to break, but once we got t here, going to be smooth. I mean just look at the price already, $41k without hinting of stopping at any point this December.

So yeah, as expected or at least what we have predicted when we just starting this year, $40k-$50k. And it seems that we are in target with that price. First week of December and we have this spike already. Expecting more good to happen this month of December and maybe $50k at the start of the new year 2024 and then preparing for the block halving.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 04, 2023, 11:53:14 AM
Duarte might got overwhelmed from the chants of the fans and I didn’t expect that he will lose via KO.
What Ryan did is a great statement that he is still a good boxer and lucky to those who bet with Ryan via KO. His running strategy works and loading a heavy punches landed him into a huge victory, there’s no doubt that he can still fight and I’m sure bigger fights are coming for Garcia.

It was a great achievement and a great win to be back in the ring and now he gonna be once again a major threat in their weight division with some intense training, he could improve his stamina and won't look worn out in the 8 rounds just like he was in this fight. I wonder who would be the next boxer to challenge him because he is now fully confident that he can beat anyone as long as they have the same weight. Congratulations to Ryan Garcia and welcome back to him, it's nice to see him doing his thing again, knocking out opponents with his signature super fast punches.
Yes, good to see Ryan Garcia back in the limelight at the 140 lbs division. He still has that power and speed, but it looks like there are several flaws that needed to be corrected. But with a good trainer behind him, for sure we will see another improvement, like more of this footwork and movement as others have seen from him in this fight.

Not that just standing in front of his opponent and trying to exchange and trade blows. He needs to be a thinking boxing now as he is maturing and obviously he needs to be a champion here at this division to get more money and at least get a true belt. Bigger fights for him is Teofimo Lopez and the winner of Haney and Prograis. Or he if wanted a quick belt then Romero is the best option.
