601  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading or Long term on: February 10, 2024, 09:24:11 PM
Be it day trading or long term hodling, the risks involved will always be there but it differs on how you manage and overcome those risks, even if we say that day trading is more risky than long term hodling itself. However, if you are highly capable to day trade because of your varied experience, then there’s no problem with that and you will less likely to lose but more on making on profits. But never underestimate hodling as well because the promising profits are also big and huge, but your patience will certainly be put at risk.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 10, 2024, 03:04:19 PM
^

If an employee spends work time on personal activities or entertainment, the employer will obviously not like it. And it makes no difference whether you are gambling, scrolling through your favorite social network or something else. In your free time you can do whatever you want, but at work you just have to spend all your time on work.

Whether to follow it or not everyone decides for himself, but we all know how nice it is to do our own things.

It makes no difference because both are violating the rules of the company. however, in terms of effect, gambling could have a big effect especially if an employee is getting addicted with gambling as it could result to stealing some company funds especially if he has some access on cash like being the signatory of the company working as a manager or something. I'm sure you heard stories about an employee slowly but consistently stealing money from the company to fund his gambling addiction, but with playing solitaire or any game as long as you are not gambling, that is not gonna happen.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 10, 2024, 01:10:49 PM

I've never seen anyone who gambled at work yet but when the Zynga Poker on Facebook was a big trend, many employees do play that game and I am actually one who did that too. It's not gambling because there's really no money involved unless you buy the chips just so you can play the game more the whole day. That I never did.  Cheesy
Don't do this both, it's just a waste of time, we have our breaks, and we can check our social media or gamble for a bit on our smartphone if we want to but when we sit down in front of our job, we should be focused.

Is solitaire counted here because I play a lot of this game while working since I always have some waiting time when waiting my clients feedback on submitted proposals.  Cheesy

You are lucky in your company that facebook is allowed to access back in the days when Zynga poker is popular. Smart phone is not that popular that time which means there’s no other means to play at work than using the PC. Seriously, Who have the courage to play at work here especially gambling while you will risk tainting your career once you are caught. Worst is you will be banned on companies that has connection to your current employer.

Do you gamble on solitaire? I think you are referring to playing a game but not gambling. That thing could not be allowed as well as it makes employees unproductive but gambling is quite different, it has an after effect that an employee might be disturb when he loss and will not be effective the rest of the game, more so if the act has been repetitive already, it's already causing a lot of resources of the company which does not produce output.
604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 10, 2024, 12:23:55 PM
Where do you think Dinwiddie will end up? He was traded to the Raptors in exchange for Schroeder, but ended up getting waived by the Raptors after he was traded there. He was seen in the Dallas Mavericks game, where the Mavericks faced the New York Knicks. He was also at the Laker game versus the New Orleans Pelicans. He was sitting beside the Lakers' GM, Rob Pelinka. Dinwiddie went to the locker rooms of both teams (the Lakers and Mavs), according to the reports. Sources say that Dinwiddie is leaning toward signing with the Mavs, as he played there from 2021 until 2023. But with the recent comments of D'Lo in his post-game interview, he said that "y'all will get to know him soon." Is that a sign that Dinwiddie will sign with the Lakers?

Regardless of what team he signs, he is a great boost on offense, especially if he is on the bench. But for me, I would like him to sign with the Lakers. With the absence of Gabe Vincent, Dinwiddie is a good replacement for him. It is much better to have nothing. Also, it is just a small risk for the Lakers, as they did not give up any of their assets just to get him. He also played with D'Lo way back when Russell was still in the nets, so I think chemistry won't be an issue here.

I really like Dinwiddie. He was a nice scoring punch off the bench when he played with the Mavs. Actually I didn't like when they traded him and Dorian Finney-Smith to Brooklyn and getting Kyrie in return. Back then Kyrie was inconsistent and on and off the field. Nowadays Irving is back his old self and a solid player of course.
First it will be amount money, who can give him more. But also it's a bout playing time so that you can present yourself in a good way for future contracts. I think with the Lakers he will see more minutes on the field, mostly of course because of the many missing players.
Mavs of course make sense because he knows most of the players already, the trade is not really a long time ago.

Where ever he goes he will be a strong asset, whether if it's in the first or second unit.

I think he'll have a better chance if he will go to the LA Lakers. They need someone like him who are consistent in scoring, and with his playoffs experience, he can certainly help the Lakers in the playoffs. His stats with the Dallas were good, averaging 17 points  a game, and I think that's significant enough if he could deliver that with the LA Lakers.

Lakers had some great defense, it's very evident but they don't have real threat outside, I think Dinwiddie is an outside threat, so they should go with him while keeping D'Lo since his game had improve recently.

Lastly, I like this guy because he is a crypto guy!
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 09, 2024, 07:58:06 PM
Everyone has certainly its own definition about bitcoin. However, for me, it means the key to wealth and financial freedom. I always believe there is huge potentials in bitcoin that will not be only here for short term but definitely for long term goals. So if you are willing to take the risk and be responsible enough to manage its current and future risks, then there’s always high chances to be successful with bitcoin. The process may always not safe and smooth, but definitely the end rewards are always worth of our risk and hardwork.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 09, 2024, 03:05:06 PM
Yes, and we should also look at the age as a deciding factor, we say that Beterbiev is still strong, but boxers are good in their last fight. And if this fight goes distance, he might be affected and he is not used to it. And because of his age, he might tire much earlier.

So there are a lot of potential narratives that can happen as you have said. Might still be hard to see what will happen, and the odds are very close and we might be talking about rematch and what not based on fight 1.

If you are betting on Beterbiev, you believe that he could win via KO, and if in case the fight will go to distance, you'll know that your bet is losing. That's it, think it simply, just trust your fighter and risk your money. He had fought young fighters and defeated them, and the fact that he is the favorite to win here (based on poll), that says a lot about his chances of winning, so we should be confident with that.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 09, 2024, 02:37:21 PM
It seems that Nets is back being a mediocre team right ? This season is awful for them and players like Ben should not be in NBA in my opinion and also earning a tons of money. I think I can also safe say that Play-offs are gone for them and they should already rethink of next season and what can be done in summer to prevent another season like this.
They are struggling, 3 losses in a row already at home and not even competitive on their end. They are done, they need to rebuild again I guess because they aren't playing with great defense which is very important to win. This team relies so much on 3 point shooting, they could take a good early lead but due to their lack of defense, their opponents could possibly come back and beat them.

I am betting on NBA games as well, for now, I'm excluding this team to my list.

This Sixers too are struggling, but they'll have a game tomorrow hosting the Trae Young, will their losing streak will end?

Although they needed to win but I would not be trusting them, at least for now. It's too risky, let this team figure out how to win first then maybe start backing them. If I will compare the Nets and the Sixers, I think the Sixers still have their core intact despite losing Embiid, so they are probably still on the adjustment people changing their strategy on how to win without their leader.

Sixers actually have a decent home record, 17-9 now, but the last 3 losses are huge.

loss to Nets 121-136
Loss to Dallas - 102-118
Loss to Warriors - 104-127
608  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: February 08, 2024, 11:15:50 PM
I can tell about this problem by observing how most people live in my country. Loans for almost everything force people to work seven days a week. Closing one loan, another opens, and people live in debt without free money that could be invested. From here, it is noticeable that people are in a hole of debt, regularly saving every penny.
But yes, our desires do not end, and we can say that we can stop everything, but the pace of life and the developed habit of earning money practically do not allow people to stop and think that they can live differently.
Its not actually hard to save but it all depends on how the mindset of every individual works. If you are fond of spending your salary even to those unnecessary things, and think that taking a loan could save your financial problems, then you can hardly save that way. You will never start to make initial steps in saving if you never stop borrowing money. While taking a loan can also be helpful, but most of the time it can be destructive to our finances and deprived us from saving our spare money.
609  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn’t it better late than sorry? on: February 08, 2024, 08:39:17 PM
Well, if you think you are certainly late from bitcoin investment, you are very wrong on that. When it comes to any type of investment, no one is late even in bitcoin. There are still a lot of chances to invest and grow your bitcoin portfolio since bitcoin investment is still at its early season. Unless if you resort into procrastinating things like bitcoin investment, then you will definitely lost all your opportunities to invest because of your wrong mindset.

Bitcoin investment is not a do or die, but if you don’t see huge potentials in bitcoin in the first place, you will never come to prioritize it most of the time.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 08, 2024, 03:15:27 PM
But there is still a chance for Embiid to recover this season. Maybe it depends on the development of his healing process.
But we can't expect the same Embiid on that short span of time, and might aggravate his injury if they will force to play him just to lead the team. They have eto remember that Embiid is still a valuable player, they have invested lot on him, so they need to protect as they can trade him in case they'll opt to rebuild.

There are rumors that they will be looking for a big man because they are still planning to get into the playoffs. Experienced big man Kelly Olynyk from the Utah Jazz is on target.

They should be, that has to be the job. Maybe  Kelly Olynyk is an experience big man but he is nowhere near to Embiid in terms  of talent, he is not even the main big man of the Jazz, he can help but not a lot to change this team from a struggling team to a playoff team.
611  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏈Learn How To Arbitrage and make thousands a month🏈 on: February 08, 2024, 02:12:03 PM
I had an idea bout Arbitrage before and I find it interesting, however, I was discourage to try it when I knew that I had to start with a decent amount so the time I spent will be worthy. What OP said about a $20k bankroll is right, because we can only get a certain percentage if we win, at least with $20k, even 2% of $10k if we bet 50/50 on both sides, we can still get $200 which is already a significant amount.

Choosing a gambling site is very vital, of course, you can't gamble on sites that doesn't have a good reputation as $10k is a huge loss in case they'll activate their scam.
612  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: February 05, 2024, 04:25:49 PM
It’s already given that if you chose to take the path of a trader, at least you should have good trading skills and high knowledge on the trading market and on the trading coins. That is if you have a goal to last longer with your trading career. However, there are also traders who are just playing safe. By playing safe I mean those who don’t work on theirselves because others are already working for them. Because of that, their success won’t be certain without these people around. And these are the type of traders that will definitely won’t last longer in their career.

Trading, aside from being a side hustle, it also serves as a profession and a job opportunity for some traders. The fact that it’s a profession so it should contribute to the growth on the person itself, and not to depend his growth on the people helping him to trade.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 05, 2024, 12:48:41 PM
Both boxers are undefeated, they are dominating on their division. Although Beterbiev is the older boxer here age doesn't matter if a boxer has a 100% KO rate. All of his fight is won via KO while Bivol is just a 50% KO artist. Maybe Beterbiev will retire soon considering his age, so it could be his final attempt to make his own legacy, and I'm hoping that he'll be successful here against a younger champion that beast Canelo.
When two undefeated champions collide for a unification bout expect a lot of hype and support from the boxing community, the boxing community has been discussing this for the last two years, the difference in the promotion and the boxing organization they belong to took a lot of time for this fight to happen, both fighters want this fight to happen because it's a legacy fight, its the legacy fight that will put a fighter in the future of hall fame so both fighters have to go all out to make it happen.
This is a great match for sure. Both are undefeated and they are popular at the same time. People even have 50/50 consensus since either fighter could win the fight. However, as a boxing fan, we love to see a boxer who are good in knocking out his opponent, and between the two, Beterbiev has more impressive wins so most likely he will have more votes to win.

Quote
Good luck to these two champions, I'm sure the fans are happy with this announcement and it's treat to us who wants to see real warriors square up in the ring. I had Beterbiev to win by KO and it will be 21-21 after this fight.

Beterbiev is always the heavy favorite because until no one has gone to finish the fight against him all have been knock out, but this could be the first time he'll be facing a guy who can take punches and has a ring generalship, between the two Beterbiev had a better chance for a knockout but if the fight goes the distance Bivol will have a chance to take the fight by decision.

he won't be a heavy favorite here as it was reported that the odds are very close. Maybe when the betting odds are out, we will see that both of them are -110 or 1.90 in decimal. I think for bettors we will be able to find a good value on our bets and of course bookies will make 10% of our bets if we only bet on the winner of the fight.
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 05, 2024, 03:09:22 AM
It's not dead yet as they were able to come back from that big deficit. Now, the game went to OT, there's a chance for them to cover the spread as we have extra 5 minutes to make it happen. Good luck mate, this bet just came alive again.

I had some live bets taken, I got the Utah Jazz moneyline @3.05 as I believe that the Bucks will get tired in the 2nd half after a strong start and the home team will take this win at home.
The sequence of events was unbelievable from the side of OKC. They just kept on chucking threes until the Raptors started missing. The Raptors failed to take advantage of the opportunity to close it out in the first OT and I thought they were about to end it there with a bucket in the last few seconds.

It was all OKC in the second OT, but not enough to cover my ticket.  Tongue

Come on, why would the OKC not give it to you? That's disappointing, man. You lost by only 0.5. They made a comeback to give you some hope, but in the end, they still lost, failing to cover the spread. Just almost! But still fell short.

Meanwhile, looks like my bet here (Jazz ML)  came alive as they are only down by 1 point in the 4th quarter, hopefully it will not fall short though.  Smiley
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 05, 2024, 02:16:07 AM
Los Angeles Lakers ended the nine straight wins of New York Knicks. I had a -4.5 wager on Knicks, but I expected Lebron and Davis to play. I believed that Knicks is simply the more difficult team to beat, the streak and more energy because the squad is playing at MSG. Brunson and DiVincenzo had a great night, but their teammates could not contribute.
They're doing so well within the first three quarters, and somehow it got worse in the fourth quarter, allowing the Lakers to go on a run and get away with a win.

I'll fade the Raptors today as they've been accumulating losses, and surely OKC, the second-best team covering the spread get the job done.

Edit: My ticket is so dead, OKC's offense isn't clicking and the Raptors are keeping it rolling.  Lips sealed

While social media can be an advantage for those who wants to promote their business, but seeing it as a key source to learning is always a wrong act. Yes, you might gained a lot of information but the the problem is if they are reliable and comes from a legit source, otherwise you will fall into absorbing wrong information and feeds yourself with fake news and unreliable updates.

To learn safely, focus on bitcointalk or any reputable source about bitcoin. Rest assured that you won’t be exposed into misleading information that will only make yourself confused and bothered.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your take on this Robert Kiyosaki's thought? on: February 04, 2024, 07:59:00 PM
We all have seen how bitcoin price moves upward year after year so most probably if you buy it today regardless of the price, whether your intention is to hold it short term or long term, that is already means profits on your side, most especially if you decide to finally sell your bitcoin. Bitcoin is a profitable investment, so the moment you start buying and hodling it, you are bound to establish your own profits in the future.
618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 04, 2024, 10:42:01 AM
Gsmbling  is not what you can depend on to realise money to pay of debt, because at the this point the state of mind will be so desperate and you won't be able to reason way. At the point going into gambling,  you are trying to create more debt for your self because gambling is not what you need to depend on because it is unpredictable. Gamble is supposed to be played without having much expectation of making money quick from it.
It doesn't mean it's impossible to win in gambling or to pay off debt from gambling. However, if we are responsible enough, we know that we are taking a high risk that our chance of success is very low, at least based on the majorities experience. As experts said, majority of gamblers losses in the long run, so that reality alone is already against us, however, if we do  have the skills then we can certainly make it possible to succeed.

We know ourselves better, and we know if we have the skills to be profitable in gamblng, because if we only believe and relied on luck, then we should forget this stupid idea.
619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: February 04, 2024, 09:53:35 AM
These two boxers were previously destroyed by Devin Haney and this will be quite an interesting fight because this fight is really important for them to continue to have career in the world of boxing.
So far, Kambosos has only been defeated by Devin Haney, so when he meets Lomachenko he will really be aiming for quicker win.

I beg to disagree with you mate as Devin Haney was schooled by Lomachenco in that fight but the judges see the other way around. It was a robbery at least for me and some of the fans of Loma here. Devin Haney refuses to give Loma the rematch that he deserves to settle the real score, afraid that in the rematch the judges would give Loma the win.
That's what some boxing fans think. If Haney was really tough and a fair boxer, he should have given Loma a chance for a rematch and make sure he'll send the real message next time by beating Loma convincingly. Unfortunately, instead of doing that, he moved up and challenge the champion which is a good move too since he won the fight and now a champion.

We like to see a rematch between the two, we call it unfinish business but I highly doubt it will happen now that Haney had moved up already, and might move again.

As for Kambosos vs Loma, I think this would be easy work for Lomachenco as he is very technical while Kambosos, though aggressive but doesn't have the power to put Loma down with just one punch.

On paper there's already a clear winner here. However, it's on the venue that Kambosos has the edge, so if it will reach to the judges, I'm afraid he'll be rob again for the 2nd time around.
620  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 03, 2024, 10:17:18 PM
Saving and investing are actually both complimenting each other. If we don’t have enough savings, we will not be able to invest at an amount we can afford to lose, while investing is the only way to see our savings multiplying faster than letting it sleep in the bank with its very low interest.

However, we can still invest through taking a loan but that will only add to bigger risk of losing. But the important thing here is we have goals to invest, that way we can always gain chances to create long term financial returns once we invest our savings in the right coins or right investment like bitcoin.
