601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 29, 2017, 10:33:57 PM
Whats up Dashers?

Did you know Icey isn't as loyal as we thought? Shockingly he also trolls the bitcoin cash thread. He's been two timing us!

Shouldn't be a surprise. A real professional: Icey is expressing his opinion, trying to warn others about what he feels are poorly constructed projects.

The blockchain environment is evolved by just that sort of opinion, and the path ahead is by no means certain.

IMO criticisms of Dash are not all justified, but I do think that the governance system and the use of funds makes Dash flabby and unfit to fight against it's competition .

A real professional. I find that a bit of a stretch.. Unless you mean he gets paid for the trolling, maybe? He's  a professional troll? Whos to know. He comes across to me as a pure bitcoin core shill.

Btw Icey if you read this, no I don't get paid instamined shekels or in fact dash for commenting on here. So as usual wrong again.

Oh look, the Dash Troll Patrol guy is here to earn his Instamined Shill Shekels.

'member when Dash Force announced that I would no longer be allowed to control the narrative w/r/t Dash's Instamine, centralization, HYIP, etc?

That was over a year ago, but I'm now more firmly in control of the narrative than ever before.  Just check /r/cryptocurrency and search for Dash... Wink

Why is afbitcoins always buzzing around shitcoins like a fly waiting for the opportunity land on a pile of poop?  Bcash and Dcash aren't even especially well executed scams.

afbitcoins' idiotic denial that there exists a problem with Bcash addresses being confused with real Bitcoin resembles his likewise idiotic refusals to admit Dash's InstandSend is broken, Dash's "Spork" master key creates centralization, and Dash's attempt to create a bounty for PrivateSend bugs failed.

In afbitcoins' make-believe world of wishful thinking and pure imagination, Bcash is the real Bitcoin and Dash isn't an instamined centralized bug-prone shitcoin scam. Cheesy

Oh yes and he controls the narrative  Roll Eyes
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin gold? on: October 07, 2017, 10:29:29 PM
Bit early to say that bitcoin cash failed isn't it? Or do you mean failed to be number 1 crypto instantly? Number 4 on marketcap is pretty huge or at least respectable.

I don't know much about bitcoin gold but I think its value proposition is not as strong as bitcoin cash. Bitcoin gold is just another segwit coin with a new mining algo. Bitcoin cash is a different breed entirely, snubbing the offchain route in order to scale onchain. Long term I like bitcoin cash better.
604  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is S2X already on life support? on: October 07, 2017, 10:12:37 PM
I kind of wonder how much depends on the ticker symbol. Bitcoin = BTC right? Not BCC or BCH or BTC1 or whatever else.

Bitcoin is BTC. Who decides this? Top exchanges. That is a lot of power resting there.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 07, 2017, 09:36:25 PM
Did someone want a chart?

Heres my bitstamp, log price scale day chart

Still  in bull channel. Difficulty getting above 4400 corresponds to resistance entering top half of channel. Based on indicators and randomly drawn lines and shit like that I feel slightly more bearish than bullish in short term, thinking bottom of channel might be tested before any break above midline. Disclaimer, not my fault if you base any investment decision on this chart which doesn't go how you wanted it.

in the long run

Long run:

But every trend has an end. This one when the castle of IOUs will fall.

Wow the rate at which central banks are robbing us is increasing at huge rate  Shocked
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 06, 2017, 10:57:18 AM

Remember : This thread is for discussions related to the Dash protocol, network, community, Instamine, ATM/debit card fiascos, Howey-test triggering centralization, Evan's secret transaction-reversing "spork" backdoor, InstandSend failure/coverup, etc. but it is explicitly *not* for worthless, generic Price Update and Moon/Doom posts that would get you Banhammered from the Polo trollbox.

Good catch rebal. This thread is not for discussions of pivx price as iCEBREAKER was doing.

ps does Polo have the trollbox back again? Haven't used Polo for a long time. I used to call the polo trollbox the Monero slack.

Icey I'll give you a tip. If you don't want to be thought of as a dickish troll then avoid doing it. I like Dash and Bitcoin Cash, that makes me someone who buzzes around shitcoins?? Or someone who likes transactions to remain on chain? Anyway I also own bitcoin segwit coins too, is that a shitcoin?

And if you do control the narrative as you claim. I can only thank you. My Dash investment has been a huge success under your control.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 05, 2017, 11:42:46 PM
That will eliminate price Volatility before ad after the airdrop and stabilize the price of Byteball and let it grow in a healthy way than an artificial way say for example Tonych announce today that there is a 20% airdrop next week i guarantee the price of Byteball will double then fall again after the airdrop but if he doesn't announce the date and percentage of the airdrop at all the price will remain stable and if there any increase it will be a healthy increase not an artificial one.

I hadn't heard that. Its interesting. Not on a full moon either! Last full moon felt a bit strange not to be expecting a payout.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 05, 2017, 11:39:12 PM

may be airdrops should be at random dates with random percentage like this month airdrop 5% next month 8% following month 15%...etc that way nobody will ask when the airdrop is and nobody will dump their coins only normal selling and buying of the coin

Well, this idea is quite brilliant actually, but it can be improved. You could also split the airdrops in more little pieces so that sometimes all monthly airdrop comes in one day while other months it is slip up to X number of mini-airdrops. This way people wouldn't be able to play the speculation game even after having got the monthly airdrop Smiley

This idea wont work.

Tonych want distribute coins fairly between holders and btc holders.
That means % which distribution happens must match amount of btc in total.
So thats why random 8% or 5% would not work.

please go to byetaball.org and read how distribution is calculated.
Its not random % , all is done to match btc cap.
what you saying doesn't make sense dropping 5% this month and 15% next month it like dropping 10% this month and 10% next month at the end of the day you will get the same amount, random airdrops is just to keep people from buying before airdrop and dumping just after the airdrop,if the airdrop is at random dates the price will be much more stable and the coin grow in a healthy way rather than in an artificial way.

Please research instead talking nonsense. I am telling you that amount of % for gbyte holders cannot be random because of airdrop and btc cap. ask in slack if you dont believe.

not body said anything about airdroping randomly to GB Holders what we're talking here is about random dates instead of airdropping every full moon you can airdrop at different dates that not body knows except Tonych of course for example you can airdrop the coin now then after 3 weeks then after a month and half....etc

And whats that gonna help? dump will happen one way or another. Research explorer and look for yourself that big holders from top 100 didint dumped. so most likely noobs and weak hands dumping  like crazy.
dates and random airdrops not going to help.

Agree with last comment from silverbox.

No matter how you spin it, it is a lot of new coins entering the market (almost) every month, if demand (or user adoption say) doesn't also increase a corresponding amount then prices fall by normal free market dynamics. This is what we are seeing

However if you look at market cap, it hasn't dropped nearly as much as price, although it has dropped a bit, but I take that to be a positive signal that byteball as a whole is maintaining its value to an extent.

There are some nuances to how the coins are distributed in terms of supply and demand though, whether people are keen to cash in straight away or hodl. I suspect that many of the big bitcoin holders who benefited more from earlier airdrops were quick to sell their bytes, seeing it as free money to cash in, (although that wasn't the case for me). This means supply was high and demand for byteball was lower.

However the  distribution rules have now changed and bitcoin holders will get 10 times less in each airdrop than previously. So now the incentive is changing so that existing byteball holders may hodl their airdropped coins in order to benefit from compounding interest on their byteball holdings. Presumably people that hold byteball longer term are more likely to be believers in byteball. This means the supply rate will drop compared to previously and demand increase.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out with high interest gained by hodling versus selling quick before the supply increases. I think the scales might be tipping towards hodling being the better option.

Is there  a reason for the dip?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg22571392#msg22571392

Incidentally, I have kept dry powder that I am now using to BTF'nD. Fundamentals are still aligned. BCH is the rightful ultimate heir. This will become even more clear after the S1X vs S2X circular firing squad.

Bcash's address format is broken but nobody can agree on how to fix it (Bech32 is provably ideal for UX, but it was made by Evil Blockstream Grin).

Bcash's Emergency Difficulty Adjustment has effectively become a Permanent Downward Difficulty Adjustment, allowing miners to exploit a loophole and creating a terrible UX.

Bcash's devs are bickering among themselves and becoming less effective at the exact moment they most need to work together.

I expect your motley crew of malcontents will fracture into Bcash Classic, Bcash Unlimited, Satoshi's Bcash, and Bcash2X.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

After you spend your last real Bitcoin on fake ones, will you keep posting here or will you fork off in silence to join cypherdoc and the other bitco.in failures in the extinct big blocker graveyard?

I would categorize this as dickish trolling, without question. Although Icey loves to try and appear knowledgeable and hints at serious problems inevitably when you dig further into his hints you find only FUD. I know this from the Dash thread.

This was a classic. 'OH don't you know about the Bcash address format being broken' only to find nothing is broken.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling - Cheaper fees on: October 04, 2017, 09:37:48 PM
Lots of trolling on this thread, its a shame. Although only what I expect I suppose, pump n dumpers trying to exaggerate the dump. I'm still hodling bitcoin cash on dips like this feel I might buy a bit to rebalance the old portfolio, won't be selling thats for sure. Is there  a reason for the dip? As far as I can tell the network is ticking away quite happily.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 03, 2017, 09:42:29 PM
Quick work getting your post back to front page, shame you lost top spot though. Only took you mere minutes! or seconds even. Some might worry you are a little obsessed with this thread.

However thats 'quite' a nice list of some technical challenges facing Dash. I think those issues are fairly well known though. You don't seem to realise the genius of the sporks though, far from what you describe they are one of Dash best innovations. Why do you think the InstantSend problem was contained so easily? Why do you think Dash hard forks tend to be implemented so free of hassle and contention? Perhaps you need to do a bit more research.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 03, 2017, 09:27:27 PM
Haha I love bumping Iceys posts back to the end of the previous page. He so painstakingly tries to get top post.

Sorry Icey, couldn't resist. What was it you were saying? Could you delete and repost please? Nevermind, I'm sure you were about to anyway.

615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 03, 2017, 09:16:21 PM
I will share also my thought about BB.

Let's start from TA for GB. There is no such thing like technical a. Simple reason is "to many free money" in hands of big ones and greedy ones.
Until GB holds value and it still above 200$ there will be someone to dump.

There is no such thing like "oversold" for GB. Reason above.

Now for future:
Once airdrops will be back i think we need about 2 to 3 months to get back people and theirs money.
Next airdrop will not bring any significant price rise as people found hard way there is no airdrop this month so "why should i care"....
Once airdrops will be back, we will see first month slow move and volume up. But there will be still people waiting for any pump to dump their coins so be prepared.
It will be like at the beggining of BB. It took 4-5 month to get to ATH because of people and that they pay attention.

Once we will have second month people will wait for next one and next one and then we should see price rise and possibly new ATH.

If in mean timei there will be some good news this should help even more to move the price up.

Bitcoin was dying so many times.....

Good post but I'd respectfully disagree about not being able to do TA. Absolutely you can do TA on byteball. Or at least I can, I'm quite happy with placement of trend lines on my chart.  Cool

Byteball is still in a clear bear market I'd say, and remained so even during the all time high. No doubt this is due to the extreme high inflation with monthly distribution (dumping) of coins into the market which was, especially in the first months, deposited largely to weak hands. However I am not criticizing the distribution method. It is what it is and you have to start somewhere and get the coins distributed. I view this method as much much better than via an ICO which was one of the things that drew me to this project in the first place.

Anyway, I think dynamics will change now in interesting and potentially more bullish ways. For a start byteball is becoming more scarce. Because its gone down in value there is less incentive to cash in free money, coupled with that the amount given to linked bitcoin holders is drastically reduced, so that means the incentive to sell and the amount that can be sold (by the weaker hand bitcoin holders) are all reduced. On top of all that there is no distribution this month causing scarcity of supply for this month which adds to what I already described.

While there are still a lot of byteball to be distributed, I think that now they will mainly go to invested byteball holders with much smaller portion to the bitcoin holders. ie more of these holders will probably be stronger hands. So yes there will be continued downward pressure while distributions are still inflating the supply on the market but for reasons I stated I think this will be less than before.

Aside from those observations on a technical level byteball looks oversold even within its bearish trend.

These are all reasons why I've been buying, not to mention that I think the technology is amongst the most interesting I've seen.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 03, 2017, 11:12:05 AM
GBYTE was the first altcoin I bought into. It was a mistake and now I have lost a significant portion of my investment. With burnt fingers I am hoping for some positive news on this coin, it seems to have such potential (admitedly to a crypto newbie) but the wallet seems very simple and fast and the plan to get merchants onboard is a good one.

I hope that there will be positive movement in the future so I can recoup some of my loses.
I bought my first GBYTE for ~70$, the most expensive was nearly at 800$, I don't trade, just buy and hold.
At the moment I lost many bucks too, but it will recover for sure because it's a great project, I still believe.

Its painful to see it go down when you already invested. I've increased my stack in last few days and planning to hold what I now have for long term. In short term I feel this coin is way oversold, for me its hard to see it keep going down much more from here, although I've been saying that since about 0.06  Undecided

Hopefully we'll get a nice rebound soon.

I sense some hostility towards bitcoin cash. Virus? Anyway I just bought a few, slowly accumulating on dips. Its a good coin. Satoshi would approve
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 02, 2017, 10:38:49 PM
So.. how this "lets-make-the-rich-bastards-richer" coin is going?
Let me be clear - I won't buy something that others get for free.. in case if you're wondering why the volume on exchanges is so low Wink

Great! Let's keep the communist scum out of this project.

I got some free, and bought some. Does that make me a commie or a capitalist?

 Grin  Huh

In my humble opinion this is an undervalued coin, it will rise
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinGPU (BTCGPU) - forked spinoff, new PoW, adjusting size cap, segwit on: September 30, 2017, 12:12:09 AM
No it is a fork. Because anyone who holds private keys on bitcoin (segwit) will have the same private keys on bitcoin 'gold' blockchain just as it was with bitcoin cash on the last fork.

Premine is different, means the coins are all created up front and held by the devs, who typically sell them with an ICO or something.

I think the bitcoin cash fork was kind of warranted. Segwit was a huge change to bitcoin which many people didnt lke so to create a fork was justified. This I don't know. Too many forks could be damaging. I don't see a great need for this fork

There were some information about ICO and I could get my head round that.
Could someone more educated in this topic tell what it takes to fork? For sure it's not mining power, because at first BCH had 0,28% hash rate of BTC.
At first Bitcoin Cash, now this. Does anyone with a brillant idea of "creating another free money" can do this? This whole fork thing looks just ridiculous.

My non expert take on it is this. Anyone (with skills to know how) could make a fork at any time just by duplicating the code, changing the name and a few other key things to prevent the two blockchains becoming entangled after the split and thats about it. Announce it and start mining it. But for the project to grow it would need people to support it, through its whole ecosystem, ie miners, devs and users. For that to happen it would need a good reason for being.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinGPU (BTCGPU) - forked spinoff, new PoW, adjusting size cap, segwit on: September 30, 2017, 12:05:31 AM
From what I can tell its actually both a fork and a premine...  Undecided

However the details have since been removed from their site, originally they explained it.

Here is how I understand it. After the fork, everyone who holds BTC private keys gets their 1:1 BitcoinGPU (BTG). They are ALSO doing an ICO where they advance the blockchain manually (not sure how) 16,000 blocks, and keep the block rewards of 12.5 BTG/block = 200,000BTG.

They will be selling the ICO at 1:10 BTC:BTG.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Sounds like huge shit show to me. but you never know.

Well I was assuming it was just a normal fork. But yeh a fork and premine with ICO thats a new twist. Or shit show.
