641  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel has already won, the Palestinians must surrender to avert a disaster on: July 28, 2014, 01:45:03 AM
man, this whole israel-palestine conflict just incites more divisiveness.. it's such a clusterfuck of information, and there are good points from both sides, so people outside of that region are bound to bicker and fight.
642  Other / Off-topic / Re: Vod is calling people Pedophiles and Extorting them for money. on: July 28, 2014, 01:43:19 AM
i don't remember how this all started exactly.. was it from when he asked for a pretty big "loan" for some "investment opportunity"? it's not like i would have trusted a stranger with money, but damn.. if i met a guy who acted like him, i wouldn't invest even half of a bitcent.

I doubt anyone cares or that you have a half a bitcent to invest.

yeah i don't have even half a bitcent to invest in you. someone worthy though? i'd have plenty.
643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 28, 2014, 01:06:37 AM
I am wondering whether it is time to buy or not. No sleep for me, I guess.

i guess a good night sleep isn't very valuable to you?

most common rookie bitcoiner mistake.

set an order and get some sleep...

yeah, after being sleep deprived and feeling deranged, i don't think you'd be in the best situation to make the right call.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to Bitcoin during an EMP / Solar Flare? on: July 28, 2014, 01:04:27 AM
I really believe in bitcoin but I would think the best option is to convert to cash or junk silver as a means to protect your investment and maintain a spendable option. I remember during 9-11, the gov shut down all communications immediately and I remember the chaos during the blackout in the Eastern US. Both would have been troublesome situations trying to get supplies/food and pay with bitcoin whereas junk silver 90% quarter dimes halves and nickels would have still been accepted.

I do love the ease of payment with bitcoin though.

I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I am just being a realist because the emp or blackout WILL happen.

sure it WILL happen, because it's happened before.. but how long will that be? 10 years? 100 years? 1,000 years? the last time it happened, where it would have wiped out or electronic systems, was in the mid 1850's.. and it hasn't happened since.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook's BUY button! Bitcoin's big moment is here on: July 28, 2014, 01:01:21 AM
i agree this is nonsense. maybe using bitcoin can save them some money here and there, but the % of people who hold bitcoins is not enough to make a dent. they will team up with paypal, visa or some other processor.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the Philippines - any Pinoys on this forum? on: July 28, 2014, 12:57:34 AM
i got a philippino dude into mining bitcoins.. it broke down on him though  Cheesy
647  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Attn: Human Influenced Climate Change deniers on: July 28, 2014, 12:52:29 AM
if you are a denier, then you are just flat out wrong. an overwhelming majority of scientists say that climate change is man-made, and the science backs it up. something like 90%+ agreed on it.

the one who deny it.. i wouldn't be surprised if they were schills for the energy/oil industries.

also, i used to watch CNN.. when i started to notice how bullshit it was, was when they kept on running those exxon mobil commercials.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines adoption on: July 28, 2014, 12:50:36 AM
i think using bitcoin for remittance in the philippines is a better idea.. there needs to be something like a brick and mortar exchange where the sender sends bitcoins to the exchanger (in the philippines), and the exchanger gives cash to the recipient. that way they don't have to worry about turning that bitcoin into paper money.

i imagine that if dank gets lucky, he will have his own cult and will be living on his own compound with his "followers."
651  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Whos paying more Russians or USA ? on: July 27, 2014, 11:57:55 PM
i don't really know if americans pay people to spread the propaganda online.. they have the news networks for that.

one unique about america and how it digests information: it operates under a "democratic" guise where people think they have all the freedom in the world, when in reality they don't have shit. russia is more brute with controlling its mass, seems like america does it in a more roundabout way.
652  Other / Off-topic / Re: Places you want to travel to before you die on: July 27, 2014, 11:57:04 PM
indonesia is pretty.. i like going to places that are so far from what i know that it blows my mind. i felt that way when i was in laos for a week or so.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin be the irrational exuberance of our times? on: July 27, 2014, 11:55:36 PM
The dotcom bubble is tons and  tons of shitty altcoins with no original innovation that prey on the foolishness of the general masses (since only the elite can comprehend the genius behind BTC).

yeah, that might fit better.. dotcom boomers came to the party a little late, and they were in it for the get-rich-quick schemes. same goes for altcoins.. i see a lot of "broke" people who are holding onto those nonamecoins.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin be the irrational exuberance of our times? on: July 27, 2014, 11:30:30 PM
Moments of "irrational exuberance" can occur with "rational" assets: real estate (for example).

I find the exuberance for bitcoin (and technologies like it) to be completely rational, and at the moment; understated, undervalued and misunderstood.

maybe that's the case with the rest of the world, but the bitcoin evangelists that i see here and otherwise.. are a little bit irrational. some people think bitcoin will eventually overtake currency and be a world standard for currency.
655  Other / Off-topic / Re: How you drink your coffee? on: July 27, 2014, 11:26:53 PM
iced coffee vietnamese style is really good, but it's so potent that i can't drink it. put some coffee, condensed milk, and ice. to me, it's the best.. and very simple too.
656  Other / Off-topic / Re: Vod is calling people Pedophiles and Extorting them for money. on: July 27, 2014, 09:46:19 PM
oh lord, when dank teams up with you.. you know you are fucked.

btw, just looked at all his neg ratings.. they are quite comical, especially the one where he was asking for a $10 million loan, and it appeared to be serious.

i wouldn't be surprised if he went out asking to borrow $20 billion next week so that he can build his own country/kingdom  Cheesy

Math does not appear to be something you've mastered yet.... I just lol @ this "10 million"?.... You're so obvious, trying too hard buddy.

I think reading comprehension is another skill you are working on, because I've never asked for a loan.

i wasn't talking about you. maybe reading comprehension is something YOU need to work on. and maybe you should smarten up too, guy. blabbing on about this doesn't help you in any way - it only makes you look like a bigger fool. i don't know if there is any ounce of truth to your accusations, and even if vod is truly a dick, there's probably not much you can do about it.. so just drop it, and move on with your life.
657  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 27, 2014, 09:37:52 PM
Unemployment, insofar as it is involuntary, is mostly the result of minimum wage laws. With Bitcoin it becomes pretty hard to enforce those laws. If a high school student who is unable to find work wants to sell her anime drawings that take her four hours to make for only $10 ($2.50 per hour) and get paid in bitcoins via Tor, who can stop her?

That's baloney... Unemployment is much more complicated an issue than merely the level of minimum wage laws.

There are a variety of infrastructure issues and societal concerns about the distribution of wealth.  If companies and the rich decide how profits are distributed, then they are going to maintain high unemployment in order to exploit workers and there is NO incentive to invest in the infrastructure if there is NOT a decent system of government to protect various assets and making those kinds of infrastructure investments.  A very complex issue indeed, and bitcoin is NOT going to solve all of these kinds of political problems, even though bitcoin can contribute towards resolving some monetary corruption problems.. and to potentially provide a deflationary investment vehicle for the masses.

yeah, the issue is split almost 50/50 at research institutions/universities about whether raising minimum wage is good or bad. there is no consensus, so what you believe is just what you believe.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: okay i am new at this help! on: July 27, 2014, 09:35:49 PM
you have to make the choice for yourself, no one else can. buying into altcoins is risky since it's more of a pump and dump than bitcoin. it's 100% a game of speculation, whereas bitcoin is.. i don't know what number, but a lot less than 100% a game of speculation.
659  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much time you have spent in jail on: July 27, 2014, 09:33:46 PM
i've never been to jail.. thug life was never for me. 12+ years of driving, and i haven't been into a major accident.. and i've had only 1 ticket.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's get the facts straight about Apple. on: July 27, 2014, 09:31:20 PM
there are bigger multinational corporations to hate more than apple, but that doesn't mean i don't hate apple. every time i have to use itunes to fix someone else's phone, i just think "i fucking hate this shit." there are so many things that apple does that just gives the middle finger to consumers, and people still buy their shit.
