1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Expedia Accepts Bitcoin on: June 12, 2014, 03:04:19 AM
I just booked 2 nights for the drive to and from my vacation in August. I sent a corresponding purchase through coinbase to replenish my bit coin of course.

that's nice and all, but it probably costs more having to exchange your fiat into btc to get your room.
1402  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: June 12, 2014, 03:00:06 AM
what is the consensus towards tea party candidates here? are you okay with them doing shit that is considered crazy by other dems and repubs? you know, the fiscal cliff and all?
1403  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Psychiatry kills on: June 12, 2014, 02:58:57 AM
maybe psychiatry kills, but so do the people who need meds but don't take them. you know, one of those psychos who end up shooting massive amounts of people in public.
1404  Other / Off-topic / Re: WORLD'S LARGEST GUMMY BEAR!!! MUST SEE!!!!! on: June 12, 2014, 02:58:08 AM
this was on reddit once.. a guy tried to eat the whole gummy bear once, and he started peeing out whatever color the gummy bear was. he didn't feel very well for a while. i'd say it's probably a bad idea to do that.
1405  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: I want to buy your Member, Full member, SR. or Hero member accounts on: June 12, 2014, 02:14:46 AM
damn son, if i were smart i would create multiple accoutns and make 14 posts every 2 weeks on each of them for a year.. and then sell them for 1 btc after a year or so.
1406  Other / Off-topic / Re: Messiah or Antechrist?! on: June 12, 2014, 02:08:57 AM
antechrist is like the new before christ.
1407  Other / Politics & Society / Re: GOP House Majority Leader Eric Cantor Goes Down Hard Tonight!! on: June 12, 2014, 01:59:19 AM
ha, part of me thinks this whole game is interesting.. and another part of me thinks that it doesn't even matter what happens, we're still all fucked basically the same we were even if cantor weren't unseated.

it's kind of like taking down a drug cartel boss, only to have another one pop up. same bloodshed, same sadistic wacko.
1408  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Yes, it is possible to be this ignorant. on: June 12, 2014, 01:55:31 AM
Unfortunately, that's what happens sometimes when you act and think like an ostrich.

it's easy to say when you are living in a developed western country, where public education is something that nearly everyone has access to.
1409  Other / Off-topic / Re: Never fix someones computer for free on: June 12, 2014, 01:54:02 AM
i don't mind doing it.. i installed my aunt's desktop yesterday. when i was removing the old computer, she asked me if i needed to transfer the email from the old computer to the new one  Cheesy

it can be a hassle to take care of shit for my uncle, but he's helped me so much that i do it without complaining.

LOL...I've learned how to keep a straight face for that kinda people and do my laughing later. My grandmother could never figure out why her task bar keeps bouncing between the bottom and side of her computer screen even though I've shown her about a dozen times how to put it back the way it was.

i must have told them at least 10 times throughout to stop using internet explorer, but every time i'm over there.. they click on that little blue e icon.. i've already told them that it's not only slower, but will likely end up causing more problems with your computer.. yet they stick with what they are comfortable with.
1410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Net Neutraility - cancel your subscriptions, even if just for a month on: June 12, 2014, 01:52:46 AM
Would it be too much to ask to create ISPs that are entirely separate from TV?

and how would you go about doing that? besides that, a lot of people would be up in arms if that were the case. it would just be another way for ISPs to draw money from us.
1411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Net Neutraility - cancel your subscriptions, even if just for a month on: June 12, 2014, 01:15:06 AM
Man, we have it even worse in Canada. Some facts - "According to the CIRA 2013 Factbook, Canadians spend more time online than anyone else in the world—an average of 45 hours a month...According to Harvard researchers, Canada has some of the lowest internet standards among OECD countries, as a result of high costs and slow internet speeds."

yeah seems like you guys are under the influence of an oligopoly in canada, and to make matters worse.. there's not a whole lot to do in the inclement colder seasons.
1412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This needs everyone's eyes on it - Bitcointalk please check this github issue! on: June 12, 2014, 12:35:32 AM
i feel like the foundation is just lining up the players to make a run at some sort of power grab.. because as of now, what influence do they really have?
1413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15-Year-Old Makes $100,000 on Bitcoin on: June 11, 2014, 10:02:54 PM
"I actually have a deal with my parents that if I make a million dollars before I turn 18, I don't have to go to college," he said. "I’m going to do it or die trying."

LOL this kid don't want to go to college Smiley))

I hope he changes his mind if he makes that million!

there are lots of kids who forego college and get on the fast-track in computer technology though. you don't need to go to school if you're a really bright kid, which this kid may or may not be.
1414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Let's face it -- just because you CAN have children doesn't mean you SHOULD. on: June 11, 2014, 09:37:11 PM

plenty of kids to adopt who need homes, same with pets.

i wonder what the statistics on heterosexual couples that adopt kids vs. gay.. i'm willing to bet that there are more gay couples willing to adopt. it's one of the reasons why i support gays and gay marriage.

my lord, you expect me to live for 1 month without the internets? if i were a heroin addict, i would rather give that up.
Your other option is to lose it forever.... if you really cant manage tether to your mobile for a month.

200 mb is not enough to last me for even a day. besides, i can't make everyone else in my house sacrifice for something that i believe in.
1417  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you do not have a years supply of water, buy it now on: June 11, 2014, 07:19:16 PM
a year's supply of water is a shit ton. a smarter idea would be to invest in water purifiers, like chlorine or iodine droplets. for nutrition, a good idea is to invest in some low maintenance but high nutrition plants like moringa oleifera.
1418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price prediction 2014 (from april) highly accurate on: June 11, 2014, 07:17:15 PM

1420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Losers on: June 11, 2014, 07:12:25 PM
from most of the stories i hear about people losing a lot of money with bitcoin, it can usually be singled out to buying after a large run-up, and it never makes sense for me. you're late to the party, so you try to overcompensate by buying bitcoin at an ATH.. only to find out that it's heading down. i sure as hell wouldn't have bought bitcoin when it was $1100.. after jumping from $110 within a 6 week window.
