I don't understand how would one lose touch sense? Complete paralysis I guess, and that's way worse than anything else on that list.

your body has nerve endings that give you that sense of touch. not paralysis.

Great new show that I picked up watching a couple weeks back, Gang Related: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2719784/

It's involves LA's gang task force.  One of their members swore his elegance to the gang they are trying to take down long before he joined the gang task force.  Can be a little graphic at times, but it shows a lot of promise as a good long running show.

I saw the trailer for that show, but then never got around to watching it.   On a scale of 1-10, what would you give it?

I'd probably give it a 7 at this point.  I was flipping through the channels when the preview was on.  I stopped on it thinking it was one of those reality shows. Quickly realized it wasn't, and it kept me glued to the end.  Made sure to tune in to the last episode on Tuesday and it kept me watching.

Not many shows manage to get me to do that these days.  The last show I probably made sure I watched on a regular basis was House.

It could even be an 8, don't want to set the bar too high though, I've been known to lose interest after a couple episodes before.  Chicago Fire is one of the recent ones that I just couldn't get into.

I never really watched Chicago Fire either. The only firemen show that I watched was that old one with Dennis Leary. I forget what that one was called though. That show used to be really good

not really into those shows either, but i liked trauma on NBC.

You spelled Charlatan wrong.

well, some of them are difficult and refuse treatment or to even acknowledge there's an issue. case in point: ask dank's parents.

I think you forgot to read the article.

i actually read it. and i'm not even arguing that it's not true. doesn't change my original point though.

And there I was, thinking I'm the only mentally ill person on this website. There are two ways we could look at this:
1) OP just proved me wrong
2) OP is the worst troll on the internet

a mentally ill scammer? you're not alone. let me introduce you to dank.

bush + rubio is a good pairing.. they'd have a good shot at florida's 29 electoral votes. take ohio's 20 and you have a pretty good path to winning it all.
You put those two at the top of the ticket and it's finally game over for the GOP. You'd have conservatives and libertarians either staying home in droves or voting 3rd party. So, establishment republican donors that truly don't like democrats better mind that before they settle on a couple of losers.

or you can vote for rand paul who is against what the far right wants.. people won't vote either. if eric cantor is "not conservative enough," what do you think rand paul will be? the problem is that if you're too moderate, the GOP base won't be down with it. if you're too conservative, the general populous won't be down with it.

rand paul's foreign policy calls for the US to stop meddling with other countries.. well, republicans practically own the military industrial complex, so i'm sure he'd meet a lot of opposition.
Actually Rand offers everyone a little of what they want for the most part. To the moneyed establishment/business republicans, he offers exactly what I mentioned in the prior sentence which would allow a complete repeal of Obamacare and pro-growth policies. He offers the 74% of Americans that oppose Iraq intervention and others that have generally grown tired of intervention a lot. The populist sentiment against the NSA strings many generations but mostly younger generations that are focused almost exclusively w/ entertainment devices. He offers the far right what they want in terms of depriving planned parenthood of money to fund abortions, a sound understanding of the 2nd amendment and a return to true American exceptionalism via freer markets. His economic freedom zones would benefit everyone as they expand but initially many inner city folks that would once again have an impending amount of job opportunities coming their way and a revival of their downtown areas, not to mention restoration of non-violent felon voting rights and a dismantling of the asset forfeiture divisions that clean people out for anything that can be tied into drugs. In full, the only people who have nothing to gain from his policies are the surveillance state people, a certain amount of the MIC and generally the most statist people out there.

appealing to everyone is a pipedream. cantor got booted because he was pro immigration reform - he wasn't conservative enough to the far right-wing. rand paul is probably even worse to them. good luck with that. your party will implode on itself.

Sunday night TV needs some shows to come back.   Ray Donovan should be back soon.  Homeland seems like it has been in hiatus for a long time too.

Game of Thrones season seemed so short...I wish it was like 13-15 episodes at least.   With how many storylines they have going at the same time, they could easily have that many episodes.

I think Suits should move to Sundays, since they are during this time of year, there isn't that much competition.

yeah i'm looking forward to homeland.. the newsroom will return soon for its last season, but i'm not really into that show.

we're probably 2 1/2 months away from homeland's return. until then, i can't really think of anything that's good in the near future.

1074  Economy / Gambling / Re: Predictious.com | The Premier Bitcoin Prediction Market | Trade & Win Bitcoins! on: June 22, 2014, 06:45:38 AM
looking to learn how this works.. can you tell me why there's such a large discrepancy between sell orders and buy orders? in every event, the sell is always less than the buy.. seems like people don't want to sell their shares.

If buy was lower than sell, anyone could buy immediately and re-sell for a risk-free profit. You cannot have the buy price lower than the sell price as we would match the lowest buyer with the highest seller and create a transaction so the order would disappear immediately.

Here are examples on how Predictious work:
Buying: Let’s say you are buying a long share at 4 mB. You are paying immediately 4 mB to buy the share. If your bet is correct, you receive 10 mB, so your profit is 6 mB. On the other hand, if you lose your bet, your loss is 4 mB.
Selling: Now, let’s say you are buying short shares (selling at 4 mB per share). You are receiving 4 mB per share since you are selling, but we’ll take a 10 mB deposit per share in case you lose your bet. So you are effectively paying 6 mB per share to short sell at 4 mB. Then if you win your bet, you’ll get back your 10 mB deposit, so you will have made a 4 mB per share profit. On the other hand, if you lose your bet, you will not get the deposit back, so you will have lost 6 mB.

You can find more details about this here.

Don't hesitate if anything is still unclear.

well, i'm saying buy should be less than sell. all i'm saying is that there is a significant margin to sell, so it's discouraged. for example, hilary clinton to win presidency is 4.14 for buy, and 3.38 for sell. that's something like a 20% difference.other events are almost 2:1 ratio buy:sell.

on top of that, i'm a little hesitant to make a bet for the 2016 elections.. that's 2 1/2 years away and you guys are a relatively new startup.

so nice to see a successful businessperson who is not all about fucking people over. i'm guessing he's offering 3% because that's how much he saves without having to use the normal mediums (like visa).

FYI, futures market (predictious, which is similar to intrade) shows hilary as a heavy favorite to win the presidential elections.. almost 3x as likely than rand paul at the moment.
On one hand, she may not even run. IF she does, there's so much dirt on her past and present that the whole woman novelty thing will wear off fast. Similarly, she was planning the whole national health care aka Hillarycare back in the 90s during her old man's terms. She isn't removed at all from the devastation of the unfolding health care crisis among many other issues that are hanging around democrats' necks.

she is running. if she weren't, then fox wouldn't be digging up dirt on her as they are, and she wouldn't be in front of the cameras as much as she is.

funny that people have come to conclusions.. and also quite funny that this news comes out when she's starting to gain steam for president 2016. though, it wouldn't surprise me if she did indeed lie; i definitely don't like her status-quo foreign policy.
