1261  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 1.2BTC/month just by posting! on: June 16, 2014, 10:48:49 PM
So, I have to wait until the 17th of this month to enrol?

i believe you could enroll now, and it would carry on over to the next month. at least stunna has done this in the past. important thing is that you link him to the post where you enrolled.

There is no enroll post anymore...
You have to fill that form and it isn't working for everyone atm.

Guys should we start sending PMs to Stunna or wait like 12h more  ?

No more pm's to Stunna at all, read couple past pages.

ah thanks, did not notice this. i do remember that in november/december, stunna did allow us to carry over our posts over to the next month.
1262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am selling half of my Bitcoin holdings because of Ghash on: June 16, 2014, 10:45:50 PM
i'm thinking it's impossible to make a completely decentralized cryptocurrency. the game changes, and if you don't have people who fix the issues to address those changes, then the crypto will just die out. hopefully there's a way to do it, and someone innovative will come along.. but at present i don't think it's possible.

so far, we have yet to perfect Monetary Theory itself.  There are many different schools of thought (primarily the Austrians and the Keynesian), thus why would we assume that we need to some kind of perfect theory of cryptocoins to have a usable one?  Fact is Bitcoin offers features no other technology does.  I think there are room for innovations, but there is nothing compelling out there at the moment.

well, because most people (at least here) love bitcoin mainly because it's supposedly decentralized. when you put power in the hands of the corrupt, then there will be.. corruption.

a lot of people complain about status quo economics.. at least most here.

what happened to the USD when it became centralized?  did it's value go up or down?

-bm

U.S. currency has always been centralized.. at least from the date that they started using paper notes. so how do we know when the value has gone up or down? and if you even want to talk about when the federal reserve was instituted, then $1 at that time was worth a lot more than $1 today.

good point, but inflation aside- centralization means better security.

-bm

better security? yeah, probably for those who are controlling it. meanwhile, the others who are not involved in the decision making are the ones beholden to it.
1263  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sexual violence in UK gangs 'similar to war zones' according to BBC on: June 16, 2014, 10:44:08 PM
3,500 gang members in london? that's probably equivalent to a small city in the U.S.

that's cool and all, but he's selling it as a tropical paradise? as far as i know, there is no such thing as a paradise on earth.. wherever you go, you'll find humans doing shitty things to each other and misery that comes along with it.
1266  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 16, 2014, 10:34:07 PM
anyone see the finale on GoT tonight? it was pretty good... i think they changed a few things that happened in the book, but i don't want to spoil anything by saying what.

I haven't watched it yet.   I have it all geared up and ready to go, but I have to pick up my gf from the airport, so I get to do that instead!  The season flew by pretty quickly.   Wish they had more than 10 episodes a season...

i think if you stretched it out, it would no longer follow the book. book 3 was basically 2 seasons, or 20 episodes too.

Gonna have to watch it tomorrow now, just got back from the airport... Traffic was bad around there even at this time of night. There are alot of good shows that are on Sundays..

yeah, it's probably because the best tv shows are on cable, and they mostly air their shows on sundays.. which i think is a perfect day since it's geared towards adults. it's kind of like your comfort the night before you have to return to work on monday  Cheesy

yeah agree with most here. if there are an alien invasion, my plan would be to roll over and die. if they can reach planet earth from wherever they are from, then we are just ants to them. and this is what most astrophysicists believe as well.

1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the first question you would ask, if you met Satoshi Nakamoto? on: June 16, 2014, 10:24:54 PM
i'd ask him why he wants to be anonymous, especially now that most governments are okay with bitcoin. does he not want the spotlight, or does he not want to be a target? or what?

saw last night on john oliver that he was the GOP's biggest proponent of immigration reform - so basically, at least for the next 2 years, don't expect to see any improvements on that front.

it was kind of funny on his show last night. republicans don't want immigration reform because most of the latinos that come in know that the GOP isn't looking out for their interests.
1273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Soda spilled on laptop, Please help! on: June 16, 2014, 10:19:21 PM
first thing i'd do is hook up the HDMI/VGA out to a monitor to see if anything besides the screen is fried. once you isolate that as an issue, you can get a better idea for what the next course of action is. replacing your screen without knowing whether the other parts function properly is a bad idea.

you probably also need to open it up.. or, at least for me, i don't like knowing it's so sticky inside my laptop.
1274  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bradley Manning Says US Public Lied to About Iraq War from the Start on: June 16, 2014, 06:38:31 AM
i gets my news mainly from reddit/the daily show.. reddit, because it's mainly crowdsourced, and the daily show because their job is not only to inform you (and do a better job at it than other real news networks), but also to make fun of the stupidity in washington.

1277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lindsey Graham: The Next 9/11 Is Coming from Iraq & Syria, and it’s ‘Inevitable' on: June 16, 2014, 03:28:49 AM
9/11 is wearing off.  Half of Americans now know it was a set-up.

This time the war pigs need something much bigger to terrorize Joe Public.

A tactical nuke in some disposable small city in the Midwest would do the trick.

i don't know if it was a set-up, but when people brings this up they get stares and accusations of heresy. one case in point is piers morgan when he was arguing with jesse ventura.
1278  Other / Off-topic / Re: NBA Playoffs - Which team are you rooting for? on: June 16, 2014, 03:24:01 AM
so what sports gambling site do you guys use with bitcoin? i haven't heard about many of them, so i wouldn't even know which ones to trust and which not to. depending in the spread, i would probably put my money on miami.. i was thinking 6 game series if the spurs won game 3, and they did. though i did think they would lose game 4 and win game 5.

I don't usually bet sports with btc. When I do I usually just use Cash. My friend runs a book by me, out I will bet in vegas.

oh nice.. this is just chump change for you then.

not looking good for miami.. even though chris bosh declared that the heat would be winning it. he hasn't really showed up since making that statement. i don't get why miami doesn't run its offense through him, he's obviously a better player than the way they are using him.

you've got it won...  I will send you the BTC tonight.   Can you double check the address you sent me, just to make sure it is correct?

yeah, sure will.. i'll re-send it to you in a few minutes. i won't forget to give you the feedback.

Congrats man...will send you your BTC once I receive your PM confirming address..

alright, left you some feed back with a link to this thread. good doing the transaction with you.. thanks!

1280  Other / Off-topic / Re: American Dream, is it still possible or is totally end? on: June 16, 2014, 02:39:57 AM
the american dream is tethered to the american middle class, and our politicians don't seem to want to support it. rather, they are more interested in helping their wealthy friends. america has bounced back before, but the odds are stacked against us.. our own government is standing in the way.
