1481  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Netflix refuses to comply with Verizon’s “cease and desist” demands on: June 10, 2014, 05:42:43 PM
Netflix must announce that their services will no longer be available to the Verizon subscribers. Let's see out of the two, who the customers will chose. BTW... the choice is pretty simple for me, and it is not Verizon.

Time has come to dump Verizon.  Grin

dump verizon, and your only other choice is not really a good one either. verizon would end up winning that kind of battle imo.. in order to use netflix, you need the internet. in order to use the internet, you do not need netflix.
1482  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your plan in case of an alien invasion on: June 10, 2014, 05:38:48 PM
We naturally use our ego, fear, instinctively, so some would classify as that type.

Though we have the ability to consciously kill our ego and tap into our soul to transcend beyond normal human consciousness.

Aren't they both aliens though?

for someone who talks about killing the ego, it's sure funny that you go around proclaiming that you are god, or neo "the chosen one," from the matrix. then again, when something comes out of your mouth, all logic goes out the window.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Coming Digital Anarchy (must read!) on: June 10, 2014, 05:33:55 PM
Google will come to our rescue.

the cost for installing fiber optic connections is currently too expensive for google to make any significant splash. people are becoming more desperate for it though, so maybe google can pre-charge people for installations and then give them credits after everything is running.
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Coming Digital Anarchy (must read!) on: June 10, 2014, 05:02:58 PM
digital anarchy? the cable companies, at least in the U.S., are basically decoupling themselves from net neutrality laws.. they are going to become absurdly powerful.
That kind of blatant tyranny could be just the kind of spark the sleeping citizens need...

i doubt it. i've been saying that for a while, and nothing has happened. all they'll do is just put more money into lobbyists, while most people are occupied with working/providing for their families.. or occupied watching reality tv shows.
1485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get money anonymously? on: June 10, 2014, 05:00:40 PM
well, of your questions, i don't thinking buying gift cards (at least for retailers) and turning them into bitcoins is a good idea.. gift cards lose a lot of value, and then you'd be paying for the transaction fees to get bitcoin as well. i'm not entirely familiar with moneypak, but i'd say the visa gift card is better.

Trade cash for BTC in person. Done and done.

he probably wants money internationally from someone.. it's not that easy.
1486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You smoke? tobacco/weed on: June 10, 2014, 04:58:17 PM
True. It's good to keep in mind, though, that there is a big difference between clean-cut, additive free tobacco and a Marlboro Red. I think a lot of people think they are the same. The stuff they put in there is not natural. Wink

Exactly. Marlboro contains a lot of chemical additives. Many of these chemicals are carcinogens. That is why Marlboro smokers suffer from higher prevalence of lung cancer, when compared to people who smoke natural tobacco.

American Spirits!!! I love them Smiley

Additive Free and Organic.

oh man, maybe i should start doing american spirits.. the tobacco content is so much higher, but i know there are so many carcinogens in marlboro. are spirits generally more expensive?
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of Mexico Restricts Banks from Bitcoin Use, Reports Suggest on: June 10, 2014, 04:56:40 PM
i guess corruption is so widespread there that they don't even need to use bitcoin. banks are the fucking devil, man  Cheesy
1488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to get money anonymously? on: June 10, 2014, 04:54:32 PM
i think currently there is no easy way to do it. oddly enough, it's still a bit of a struggle to even buy bitcoin, especially if you are computer/tech illterate. some may find it hard to believe, but there are many people in the world who struggle to even open a folder on a laptop (my aunt).
1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Podcasts on: June 10, 2014, 04:52:25 PM
a lot of people seem to like the keiser report, with max keiser. try that one out? he seems kind of like an entertainer though.. he acts a bit kooky, and it might be just for theatrics.
1490  Economy / Speculation / Re: My gut says... on: June 10, 2014, 04:48:13 PM
if your gut is telling you what to feel, with no logical reasoning, then i won't listen to it. a picture still needs to be painted.

1492  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 10, 2014, 04:41:13 PM
I started watching revolution.. its seems pretty good. If you watched all the HBO shows.

it's a crappy show, and is now cancelled though.

http://www.vice.com/read/how-effed-are-nukes

after effects of major nuclear bombing.. if you look at the pics from kazakhstan and chernobyl, it's kind of a turn off. kazakhstan's current issue is that they are unable to quarantine the affected people, so they are interbreeding with the non-affected people and making babies with serious issues.
1494  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is getting adversely affected by Immigrants on: June 10, 2014, 07:20:30 AM
US already pass the point of no return regarding immigration issue.

Couple with high inflation, middle class are being squeeze from top and below.

Yeah, those Native Americans shouldn't have let anyone in. Was all downhill from there. And oh the poor middle classes! My heart bleeds for them.

you mean they shouldn't have let your people in, as well as the french and and spanish?
1495  Other / Politics & Society / Netflix refuses to comply with Verizon’s “cease and desist” demands on: June 10, 2014, 06:22:10 AM
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/06/netflix-refuses-to-comply-with-verizons-cease-and-desist-demands/

man these cable companies are getting quite creepy.. there's no limit to the kind of shit they'd be willing to do to sell "airspace" to internet services like netflix. if the new anti-neutrality bill passes, this will become a more and more common occurrence.. the big cable companies would be very, very powerful.
1496  Other / Off-topic / Re: Someone want to open a commune type place on: June 10, 2014, 06:05:14 AM
I was looking to have the music festival somewhere in America though and it would make it a bit more difficult to do so.

I'm not worried about the government.  Nothing they can really do to defeat the infinite power of soul.

except maybe put you in a psych ward or jail? there are already tons of communes anyways.. i think there was a crazy guy who claimed he was enlightened.. in texas. see here: http://www.quinneaker.com/
1497  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Solar Roadways... on: June 10, 2014, 06:01:19 AM

Does this include subsidies?
Does this include the costs of 'accidents', like in Fukushima?

The combine "costs" for the Chernobyl disaster are enough to build 40 new nuclear plants Smiley.
Just the latest shell that needs to be build on top of the current crumbling sarcophagus is worth around 1 billion.

Nuclear power may be the solution but with advances in nuclear fusion .

nevermind the cost, it's human life that  gets fucked over from the radiation poisoning. the more nuclear reactors you have, the more likely it's going to explode in your face. in the past 35 years, we've had at least 2 of them.. and almost a case in philadelphia as well.

and if you have a population that has been exposed to the radiation, you'd need to quarantine them.. otherwise they'd mix genes with other people and make babies with 3rd eyes.
1498  Economy / Economics / Re: eBay to allow settlements in crypto on: June 10, 2014, 05:53:32 AM
I doubt it. Part of Ebay's business model is being very consumer-friendly. That involves enforcing returns/refunds. And that's a big problem when it come to BTC.

yeah i agree with this. no more withholding funds from your account.

if they did offer a service though, i'm thinking that many of us wouldn't use it (because we hate them so much), but there are still quite a few people here who would use their services.
1499  Economy / Speculation / Re: My gut says... on: June 10, 2014, 05:50:24 AM
415?  Your nuts.  600 is the bottom if it drops.

Uhhh, i am willing to say we go south of $600 for sure. I will put my crypto where my mouth is, I will send you $5 of the crypto of your choice to the address of your choosing if we don't see $599 on bitstamp before September.

Yes i am a big spender. Offer only good for Alley
You are betting 5 dollars and you're calling yourself a big spender? Grin

i bet he takes his dates out to mcdonalds to show the kind of bling he has.. but only items off the $1 menu.
1500  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: June 10, 2014, 05:46:07 AM
It would be hilarious if the GOP nominated Rand Paul. Oh my god the entertainment factor would be through the roof!

Stay crazy Republicans.

Another true believer. Enjoy the yes we can rallies and broken promises.

see, i hate this bullshit. just because someone thinks the GOP is crazy does not mean you are an obama nuthugger. the GOP says way more crazy shit than the democrats, but that doesn't mean i am one. it could be reciprocated that you are a conservative/republican.

Right. I'm not a fan of Obama or the Democrats in general.

i guess both of you are.

what do you have to say about the crazy shit that goes on fox news, and the crazy politicians you have? like sarah palin, herman cain, michelle bachman, that "women have a defense mechanism against rape" and the other tons of wackos?
