1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be better for us to call Bitcoin 'pseudo-decentralised'? on: June 19, 2014, 11:47:50 PM
Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency. It is at the "human-levels" where you are seeing the march toward centralization.

i don't think that is quite accurate. you could say the same about everything else that is decentralized, like fiat currency. it doesn't matter who is controlling it, but rather that someone is and has to control it.. therefore it is decentralized.

those of you who went into panic mode and messaged him multiple times.. you guys should realize that he has a lot of shit to take care of. should have just waited past the 48 hour period before bothering him. in the end, it made no difference contacting him.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very Early Adopters on: June 19, 2014, 11:18:26 PM
you only own .08 BTC?

how can you get more?

Well, I've worked for mine, and I have no intent on buying any. It's more like a seperate currency with side jobs for me. It's also easier to work for it as opposed to buying it, but that's just my opinion.

thinking like that is kind of setting yourself up for failure though. bitcoin will never replace fiat, but it could be really big. also, there's evidence that bitcoin could be huge, but there's also very good reason to think that it will crater and crash. the future is unknown, so don't expect too much or you'll get stomped.
I'm thinking like that only to cheer you guys up. I have a much more semi-pessimistic state of mind otherwise. I expect it to remain at this value (In a slightly-more optimistic scenario)  for a long time, but it could always just drop into oblivion. The future is the future, and I haven't met any time travelers yet.

However, bitcoin MAY replace fiat. Not by being the cheif currency of every nation, but changing it out so that cryptos become common within nations, maybe going so far as being the gold reserve for said cryptos. Or another coin will take over, I don't know. The future is anyone's guess.

ha, it's not even worth anyone's time to cheer up people who did not get-rich-quick.. and are still holding out for it.
1124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China so important for Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2014, 11:09:22 PM
Considering so many feel that China is going to save the world economy it is not surprising that so many feel it is detrimental to Bitcoin's success.

There are many reasons for this but some of the biggest are 1) Huge population 2) Restrictive government so lots of people are looking for places to stash money and 3) The Chinese people are known to love a good speculation  Smiley

LOL

they love to gamble and lose their shirt. Casinos and gambling places everywhere are fraught with uppity chinese who thought they were smarter than the house.

No one is easier to manipulate and dominate than someone who thinks themselves clever, and everyone likes to feel clever.

Especially the stupid ones.

to be fair, the chinese and vietnamese are both really good gamblers overall.

i'm thinking he's a shizophrenic and the drugs did not cause that... it probably just exacerbated his symptoms. he's totally mindfucked, living in his own bubble by now.

Please read to me the definition of schizophrenia and please explain how it is at all applicable to me.

here's a quote from wikipedia.

Quote
Schizophrenia (/ˌskɪtsɵˈfrɛniə/ or /ˌskɪtsɵˈfriːniə/) is a mental disorder often characterized by abnormal social behavior and failure to recognize what is real. Common symptoms include false beliefs, auditory hallucinations, confused or unclear thinking, inactivity, and reduced social engagement and emotional expression. Diagnosis is based on observed behavior and the person's reported experiences.

btw, can you be honest with us? can you tell us whether you were diagnosed with this or not? is that why your parents had you put on prescription meds?

wow, 378k btc wagered.. no wonder he is able to pay for the sig ads! if he just chose a 1% fee, that's still a shit ton of money he makes.

also, does anyone know if stunna will decide to make a sports betting/futures site? i'm looking for a good one, and wouldn't mind with sticking to a known quantity.

There's other sites like Cloudbet etc for this sort of stuff. I think Stunna briefly mentioned the possibility of adding new games a while back but don't know what happened to that, but I can't see him adding sports etc unless he decides to branch out into other gambling arenas.

do you know any sites that have futures/predictions and events? there was an irish one, but they dealt with fiat. if i had thought of bitcoin during the 2012 elections, i'd have won a shitload of money. really regret that, because i wanted to bet on obama winning.
1127  Economy / Speculation / Re: wich date are silk road coins sold? on: June 19, 2014, 09:21:20 PM
how can I buy it ?

i believe it's too late now.. and they aren't interested in you, unless you have millions of dollars to back yourself.

I want to buy 1 silk road btc.

i would actually like to buy one too, and then mint it as a collector's coin. "silk road bitcoin original."
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very Early Adopters on: June 19, 2014, 09:19:28 PM
friend told me about it in 2011 I shrugged it off as eeeh whats the point.
friend did not become rich.. so feel a little better about that heh :p
but yeah if only I had listenened.

I do know people who bought 10,000's for like next to nothing... depresses me each day it was not me.

at some point you have to get over it.. because 1) you can't do anything to change it, and 2) it will eat you alive. i've come to grips with my share - sure i'd like more, but i don't need to feel bad about it anymore.
Guys, don't feel bad about not having 10,000BTC! In case you haven't noticed, only about 10,000,000 own a portion of any bitcoin. Less than 1% of America, and less than 0.05% of the world! Once bitcoin is mainstream, people will be sad they're not YOU! You are VERY EARLY to the game! Those few BTC you have will be MUCH larger in value in the future! Just look at the charts!

Don't feel bad for small amount, if you own 0.08 or more, you're still better off than I am!

And if you look around the forum, there's plenty of people giving proof why Bitcoin will continue to rise in the future.

It's going to work out!

i'm kind of jelly of you guys.. wish i could like soccer, but it's so damn boring to my american eyes. it's cool to be involved in an international sport.. it must be crazy this time of year for you guys.

1132  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to rent Full / Senior / Hero signatures on: June 19, 2014, 09:06:27 PM
I am willing to use escrow of a highly reputable member here.

I will match PD's rates:
  • Hero: 0.0012BTC/constructive post
  • Senior: 0.001BTC/constructive post
  • Full: 0.0006BTC/constructive post

I will pay bi-weekly.

I'm not sure why people would choose your deal over Stunna's to be honest. You'll probably have to think of ways to better his or the other deals. Why don't you consider one of the fixed rate deals where you pay 0.05 for 50 posts or whatever? You can cap the number of users and know exactly how much to budget for then.

i can think of two things: first, it's paid bi-weekly. secondly, he doesn't have a billion people in his campaign, so you will get your remittance quicker probably. i'd still stick with stunna though.

wait, who actually thinks china is going to save the world economy?

i personally just think that china believes it is at the center of the world, that it is supposed to be the #1 superpower of the world. they have the hunger of a honey badger, which is why it would help bitcoin along so much if the government DID accept it.
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bolivia Bans Bitcoins! on: June 19, 2014, 08:59:59 PM
man central and south america are not places i would like to be.. so much turmoil in that region, possibly 2nd behind the middle east. it could be similar/equivalent to africa.
1135  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-11] Cash transfers in Africa - Bitcoin for the poor on: June 19, 2014, 08:26:19 PM
i think it would work best in the most populous areas, where people with ties to the west can open up a shop to make the exchanges. if that were the case, they could just pay in the local currency and people wouldn't need to have any technical skills - all they do is go to the shop, show proof of ID, and collect cash.

I think that there are still a few people that have requested payout and haven't enrolled or some that are submitting it even today so he is busy checking them.
Probably also a lot of errors in the submissions (wrong links to profiles or messages).

Seeing how this is obviously taking him a lot of time (he said he will finish it yesterday but got a new avalanche of request today comparing the list) I think we should start a brainstorm session and find out a cheater proof way of dealing this without a lot of manual work on his side.

There were a few ideas but none was really secure enough.

As for the fake "hilarious" requests ....he could easily send a code to any of the people enrolled that should be used when filling the request payment form.
No match in the code / request denied.

He has around 100+ people in the campaign and everyday new people are joining. How is it possible that he'll send a secret code to everyone ? The problem Stunna is facing is that he is running the largest campaign and hence has to deal with big data.

yeah that seems to be the problem, and he can't really rely on anyone else to make the payments because they could fudge the numbers up and make him lose a lot of coin. it's probably a big mess for him now, and it's growing by the day.

You're just slowing it down. If you are busy doing something and someone does call you on the phone does  it speed you up? No it's a delay while you're calling for example if you don't get it other way wich seems you don't...

yeah the best thing to do is to keep your pants on and wait a few days so he can sort things out, then contact him. when i do it, i'll let him know that i waited so that he didn't have too much on his plate.. hopefully he'll appreciate that.

you guys probably shouldn't worry too much, as stunna has kept his word for more than half a year now. just trust that he'll get shit done. if you were with the other sig campaigns, you should worry more.. but stunna has a good reputation.

it would be cool if we had a paul/pau 2016 campaign.. though ron would have to pulled out of retirement  Cheesy

but i think they are too similar and wouldn't appeal enough to the populous.
