641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wait, what about Litecoin? on: March 11, 2016, 02:14:07 AM
yes litecoin has one thing over all the alts; trust.

trust is pretty important to currency, all the innovation to sell snake oil hype makes some coins have a small moments of shine, but trust is needed for longterm survival as a genuine currency.

Ethereum has a clear, identified leader: Vitalik Buterin.

so is this thing still alive and kicking?
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't you investing in a 2.0 platform? on: March 08, 2016, 02:23:07 AM
to the OP's title question.

1) i'm yet to see a so called 2.0 platform that's an improvement on bitcoin's blockchain (however there is quiet a few so called copy paste alts that improve on bitcoin funnily enough). just because its original code doesn't automatically make it better.

2) most 2.0 type devs have lost the plot on the entire point of p2p currency ie being an alternative to the banks (eg not trying to create a backend platform for the banks).
also whats the point in being an alternative to the banks if we ourselves become the greedy bankers.

3) if we just jump onto the latest platform plugged as the most 'innovative' all the time, no platform will achieve mass adoption. adoption is way more important then the latest crazy in innovation to sell snake oil.
we are simple trying to create a currency, tis not a mission to mars.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WARNING: crypto-currencies are very likely going to experience a crash soon on: March 06, 2016, 10:13:46 AM
There is no fundamental value in Ethereum, MaidSafe, Factom, StorJ. I analyzed them all, and they are all so flawed that they can't be used for anything. They have 0 usership, thus it is purely P&D. No demand for the coins otherwise.

greater fool theory;the price of an object is determined not by its intrinsic value, but rather by irrational beliefs and expectations of market participants.

648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: March 03, 2016, 01:37:23 PM
Litecoin is a brilliant investment if you want to lose money
Can you please explain to newbies why do you think so? Do you have any argument or this is just your opinion?
If you scroll back you will find a lot posts of support to LTC and not only that,
why is LTC still good investment, what can we expect, what can you do with it..

One liner post can only be considered as FUD attempt, and FUD is forbidden you know that?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

Well, do I really need to explain why scamcoin number1 with a sell by date of 2014 is not a good investment?

No one in bitcoin likes litecoin, and no one outside of litecoin likes litecoin. Its own developers dont even like litecoin.

No one likes litecoin apart from a few chinese bagholder whales who haven't read about Ethereum yet.

yes as an premined ICO pusher your motives a pretty clear Wink

litecoin has one of the best develop teams and map out of all cryptos todate, if you took the time to do the research. most of the bitcoin crowd happily support litecoin, plenty of the devs work in both overlaps.

you know you don't to FUD other coins to pump you're own bags? it certainly does no favors to the coins you support.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Feathercoin [FTC] - time proven, fast, secure and unique POW coin on: March 03, 2016, 07:00:22 AM
News? Or just random pump?

i assume random pump the way it built up, not that i don't think feather shouldn't be up way higher then even the peaks of these little pumps.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: March 01, 2016, 11:40:52 PM
still one of the safest coin in the market for trade sometimes even to predictable in my opinion i must say
After people realise they have been cheated with ico investments they will return to more secure BTC and LTC. To be honest i'm expecting this price again>

Yes, give me trust over 'innovation' to sell snake oil anyday, eventually people will learn.

652  Economy / Speculation / Re: Make a prediction for April 1st and win a physical coin from Digital Space Post on: March 01, 2016, 11:41:05 AM
is this an international competition?

also EST?

"Timezones like "EST" are ambiguous. EST could mean US eastern time, Australia eastern time, or Egypt time."

(ie quick look at your site and you btt profile, i couldn't see where you are based)
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will see 10$ and above 2016 on: March 01, 2016, 03:57:51 AM
i honestly don't see any scenario in which litecoin can reach $10 and above. i love to see that as much as the next guy but the last time it was pumped massively by Chinese and they couldn't get it that high.

The last time LTC was pumped, it went from around $1 to almost $9, or 900% increase.

If Litecoin makes only 500% increase from this point (around $3.50), it could reach $17.50.

If it makes the same rise as last time, it will be $31.50.

In old times, litecoin is the main altcoin. It is not any more. There are Ethereum, Dash and Monero now. So the rise could be lower.

litecoins not an altcoin, it complementary to bitcoin not an alternative.

have you some contact with chinese exchanges?

I have been in regular contact with one. China is not the key, just a piece of the puzzle - it's just a matter of making it clear enough for them to see that with BTA the government cannot dictate how and when they spend their money. Some Cryptos see China as just a way of pumping up the price, we see it as a way of giving people from China financial privacy and a huge market base for the Barter system.

on ground level chinese have way more freedom with fiat then western countries, i'm a westerner that works in china and cash (real paper type cash) is king there. rarely do you use cards etc there most transactions are in cash (and therefore more privacy).

656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and Litecoin in 20 years on: February 28, 2016, 08:15:10 AM
why litecoin, which seems doomed and no one carea bout anymore, not to mention it does not offer anything

when you have ETH and decred that are much stronger and actually are a bit different than bitcoin, or even maidsafe if you want?

theres ton of reasons why ETH and the lastest co, may get flavor of the month with some of this crowd but not longterm mass adoption, KISS is one, trust is another (hell much of this forum have little trust for the motivation of the teams behind them).

lots care about litecoin, it has the trust and if you where to first come across all these latest 'original' or 2.0 or whatevers first, then btc/ltc came later everyone would be saying btc/ltc are a massive improvement on these.

over hyped 'innovation' for innovation sake doesn't make for a long term currency solution.

657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and Litecoin in 20 years on: February 28, 2016, 02:41:33 AM
Bitcoin will become the "gold" of the internet while Litecoin will become the "silver." With Bitcoin trading above $3000.

Sad part, there will be a lot of unclaimed Bitcoin by that time.

Just my thoughts.

I think Dogecoin will become the silver instead of Litecoin. TBH litecoin isn't that great to invest in...

its obviously sacrilegious here, but litecoin most likely will replace bitcoin, and yes thats probably laughed at mostly now (but i can give many a reason why), wait 2 years and see  Wink
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and Litecoin in 20 years on: February 28, 2016, 01:22:31 AM
i'd say within 2 years BTC completely owned by corporate interests etc, LTC becomes the peoples currency (kinda like gold/silver did in days gone by).
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will see 10$ and above 2016 on: February 25, 2016, 10:44:37 PM
LTC can hit 10$ in short term pump but without some sort of development like, for example ETH, it can not sustain it.

same nonsense, plenty of development going on with litecoin.

Can you give us some new features of litecoin which is different from bitcoin developed in the last two years?

here's just some of the current 2016 development;

-Increase our software coverage by releasing a new wallet for iOS devices (LoafWallet) and improve existing ones (Android and Electrum).

-Release Litecoin Core 0.12 which will feature block pruning, memory usage optimization, Tor stream isolation support and Tor hidden service support, improved signature validation using libsecp256k1, network performance improvements and additions (like ZMQ notifications) and many other changes. This will be a major release.

-Add support for version bits (BIP9) which allows rolling out multiple soft-forks at once instead of doing them sequentially. This will rapidly accelerate the roll out of new features.

-Add support for relative lock-time using consensus-enforced sequence numbers. (BIP68 and BIP112)

-Add support for Segregated Witness.

-Change P2SH address prefix to prevent confusion between Litecoin and Bitcoin addresses. This will require a hard fork and we would like to include any other changes which require a hard fork at the same time.

-Add support for cross-chain atomic transfers.

-Create a Litecoin sidechain to try out new opcodes, confidential transactions and other innovations.

-Add support for the Lightning network protocol.
