Hey, I've got some good news to share with all of you!

From an initial report of two years, it's now possible that the wait will be reduced to just three months. Pretty great news, isn't it? Here's hoping it becomes a reality!

Quote
He said it starts with JB proving beyond doubt that the carboxy-THC found in his urine sample was due to the medications he had been taking to heal from his bone spur removal in August. It is something Barangay Ginebra governor and Gilas Pilipinas team manager Alfrancis Chua and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas have been working on already.

It does not mean that Brownlee will escape punishment. It means that his suspension could be reduced significantly to around three months instead of the reported two years. Brownlee's suspension, according to Henson, could even be as short as a month, depending on the "reckoning period."

In case of sports betting, there is the element of luck, which can occur in the form of unexpected events such as player injury or an unexpected upset.
But, having a good understanding of the sport will help you make better bets in the long run. Both skill and knowledge can help you make better long-term profits, but luck still plays a role in individual results.

The answer to the question “which is better?” depends on the context and time frame in which you are gambling. For example, over a few hands of play, luck may win out over skill and knowledge. On the other hand, over a longer series of plays, skill may win out over knowledge.

Injuries can strike at any moment, but when you're analyzing a game, you're working with the data you have to predict the outcome. You don't factor in injuries; you just make your call.

Now, if injuries do happen, and you bet on the affected team, your chances of winning are pretty low. But remember, it's just one loss. Success as a sports bettor isn't about winning every single bet – that's impossible. It's about winning more than you lose, and in the end, making a profit. That's what you should aim for to keep things realistic.

But here's the thing, none of this will work if you don't have the discipline. Winning isn't just about picking more winners than losers; it's also about managing your bankroll smartly. That's crucial for your success.

So let's start the party now..... TO THE MOON!!!
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: October 23, 2023, 05:43:39 AM
Did you all catch that video of June Mar Fajardo playing with his kabarangay and calling himself a 'dayo'? LOL, that video really got fans' attention and sparked some positive comments. This guy, despite being one of the best players in history, stays super humble. He still hangs out with the locals in their barangay, and it's seriously inspiring to see someone like that. I bet he's a massive source of hope and inspiration for their small town.
Both on and off the court, Fajardo keeps it real, staying humble. He's easily one of the most accomplished players right now, with a bunch of championships under his belt. The most recent one being that gold medal in the Asian Games, and Chinese fans are still not over it!

Good on him for taking some well-deserved rest because the PBA is set to return on November 5, 2023, as scheduled. Maybe next week we will be able to know the imports of respective teams. For now, the only sure thing is RHJ. The rest of the teams, well, that's still a mystery.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 23, 2023, 05:07:57 AM
So, imagine Ngannou taking on Fury, who's considered the heavyweight boxing champ. This could be his ticket to the top, opening the door to even bigger fights. Those names you mentioned? They'd give someone a challenge, especially Wilder. He's a knockout artist, and that alone makes it a match worth watching.

But hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves. These are just possibilities, and we can't ignore that the odds aren't in Ngannou's favor. If he manages to beat Fury, that'll silence all the doubters and prove he's the best. It's kinda funny how Fury looks less in shape compared to Ngannou. His physical appearance is a complete opposite to Ngannou's. Maybe that's why, at first glance, people might lean toward Ngannou as the favorite.

If Ngannou manages to beat Fury, he will need to do it twice because of a rematch clause. If he manages to defeat Fury a second time then it will pave the way for him to fight any other boxer. There have been many rumours that never resulted in confirmed fights for example of Joshua vs Wilder and Fury vs Usyk therefore Wilder vs Ngannou is just another one.

In my opinion, Fury will score a win over Ngannou and that should mean the remaining top fighters will stick to fighting professional boxers.

If there really is a rematch clause for them, it will be good for Ngannou. I think he is also eyeing to fight Wylder, legitimizing his boxing path and probably going into boxing while also into PFL.

646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 23, 2023, 03:51:03 AM
Bad news for the Grizzlies just as the season is about to kick off. Their center Steven Adams is having knee surgery and will be out for the entire year. This is especially bad in my opinion because the Grizzlies have issues and Steven Adam’s is a great person with a lot of influence over his teammates and I think a big part of the reason he’s on that team is to keep Ja Morant in check.

I saw this news earlier and I feel bad for the big guy because he could been a big help to them because they needed him as their center, thankfully this is just the start of the season and they could easily fill that position right now. Or their bench players will have a chance to shine because they will be given more minutes right now. He will still be there giving support for the team on the bench and advising them always.

Isn't it though that he was injured from last season ago? correct me if I'm wrong that's why he was absent in the playoffs and most likely he was a big factor why they've lost their series? So I think he could have re-injured again, or this could be a different one, (again I'm just basing all from my memory, and it could be groin injury before). So if this is the case, they yes it's very bad news for the Grizzlies as they are trying to enter the picture in the West for this season as the last two where like for them to get that needed experience.
Yeah, they missed the playoffs, and I remember their season's playoffs against the Warriors when Memphis lost in 6 games. Steven Adam came back, but he barely saw any minutes because the Warriors were playing that fast-paced game and needed their young guns. It was tough luck for Memphis, especially since Morant was also dealing with an injury at that time. They could've given the Warriors a tough series and maybe even made it to the Finals if things had gone differently.

But they still have Jaren Jackson to be their man in the middle. However, the presence of Steven Adams will be a big plus factor for the team. I mean we all know how he did the dirty works specially in setting picks for Ja Morant and then the offensive rebounds. Surely he will be missed again at the start of the season.

Jaren Jackson has seriously stepped up his game. He's a big-time contributor to the team now, and he's got those sweet outside shots in his arsenal. But you know what's even cooler? Having Steven Adams around. He's like the wise old head who can guide them through the tough times. Losing him again would be a real blow to the team.

648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prepare for a Bitcoin bull run? on: October 22, 2023, 10:12:22 AM
I've taken all the basic steps to secure my wallet, and now I'm gearing up to stack some Bitcoin for the upcoming bull run. This part can be a bit tough, especially with that sneaky greed creeping in. I don't have a ton to invest, so my plan is to put a little in every week and let it sit until the bull run hits. Then, I might consider selling some when we reach a new ATH.

What do you think will be the new ATH, is $100k a very conservative estimate only? Or can it go  as high as $300kish....?
649  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are chances of fraud very high on Binance P2P transactions ? on: October 22, 2023, 09:55:27 AM
-snip-
So, I believe the main responsibility falls on the exchange. They need to make sure they thoroughly verify the information provided, cross-check the documents, and only approve KYC for accounts once they're sure everything checks out. Once an account is verified, it's no longer the exchange's responsibility. If there's an investigation, the exchange might cooperate with the authorities. So, if you're using P2P and funds from the other party come from illegal sources, you should be in the clear unless you're in colluding with them.
It must be because they manage the platform.
But to be investigated in detail by the exchange itself and the authorities to freeze funds in the account, there must be a large enough transaction.

If the transaction is under $100, it probably won't get any response and will be a less complicated internal resolution.
And it also depends on how many people report fraud on the same suspect.

Obviously, no one's going to bother hacking an account for just $100. Hackers usually go after big sums of money that they can launder through exchanges. The only real defense the exchange has is to freeze the account, but that's only effective if the authorities act swiftly to trace the money trail. Binance, in particular, is known for its speed – trades can happen in mere minutes, whether it's through P2P or the regular channels.
650  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are chances of fraud very high on Binance P2P transactions ? on: October 22, 2023, 06:06:21 AM
I have heard that some scammers are making fake accounts on Binance for P2P and using hacked bank accounts for transfer. If we deal with them for P2P deals, our bank accounts can also get feezed. Have you ever faced this problem on Binance ? How can we reduce the chances of getting affected by this ?

There's a possibility that your funds could be frozen if the authorities decide to investigate, but, of course, it won't affect you if you're not involved in any illegal activities. P2P transactions are pretty straightforward – you trade cryptocurrencies for fiat with a specific person. In reality, though, it's often unclear where the funds are coming from.

I use P2P regularly myself, and I'm not particularly worried about this kind of scenario.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 22, 2023, 03:21:17 AM
It's not a big deal at all. You've got the freedom to flaunt your betting slip to the world, and if that brings someone joy, we shouldn't be poking holes in their reasons. After all, he's a billionaire, for goodness' sake, so he can definitely show off his massive gambling tickets.

By the way, that 4.25 million, is that in USD or in Nigerian currency? Because if it's on Nigerian Currency, thats only around $5,558, no a huge bet IMO compared to Drake's bet and other sharks in sports betting.

Thanks for the update, OP. I've already shared this news on Facebook so that my friends who have accounts on coins.ph are aware of it; they're probably checking their balances right now. I'm interested in how this incident will affect coins.ph. Will they close shop, or will they continue with business as usual?

One thing is certain, though – the confidence of the users won't be the same anymore.

I must say, I'm really impressed with your responses, especially those of you who've taken the time to provide some figures to illustrate why creating a dedicated thread for every game might not be the best idea. A special shoutout to @LoyceV, @philipma1957, @Halab, and @yahoo62278 for sharing their insights.

I didn't realize just how many games are out there in different leagues. I can't even imagine the chaos it would bring if every poster decided to create a topic, whether for spamming or genuine purposes. It's evident that it would lead to an increase in spam posts. You've all educated me on this topic, and I appreciate it. I was only focused on one league I love to follow, without realizing there's a whole world of other leagues out there.

So, it seems there's not much we can do to change the current situation, but we can all be responsible and report any posters we suspect of spamming to the moderators and campaign managers.

Thank you for your time, and I think it's time to lock this thread since it has already gathered enough information to satisfy my curiosity.

I'm just tryin to understand what's going on and what your goal is here.

Both links you added above are of purely gambling websites, this forum is not a gambling website but a Bitcoin discussion forum with a gambling board.
Yes, I'm aware of that. But consider the facts I'm bringing up: the majority of the posts coming from signature campaigns are related to gambling boards. What makes this forum particularly active is the signature campaign. Therefore, I find it to be a major concern that needs to be addressed.

The title implies like you wanna stop all the spam on the Gambling board.  But I don't really get how making more topics is gonna fix that.

Absolutely, it was my intention, and this is just my suggestion, so I'm seeking input on its viability. As I explained, even though the topic itself isn't spam, it can sometimes turn into a mega thread, which in some people's eyes might resemble a spam thread. So my suggestion is to divide the topic. For instance, if I open a discussion about a specific match-up or game, that topic might only remain interesting for a day or even less, as after the game, it's no longer a subject of discussion unless someone is trying to make spam posts. However, as mentioned, the OP could lock the thread to prevent this from happening.

The problem with mega threads is that when you're trying to follow a particular discussion, you might lose track of it due to the sheer number of posts in one thread.

For example, in the context of the NBA, if there are 10 games on a given day, everyone will be discussing these 10 games mixed together. Some might only focus on the more popular games, so those interested in betting on every game and seeking insights from other posters might not find the information they're looking for. It's hard to get noticed or get answers in a fast-moving mega thread. Just think about how many posts are created in an hour in a mega thread; it can be challenging to find the information you need. With dedicated threads for each game or match-up, it becomes more organized and easier to access relevant information.

Moreover, in dedicated threads, it's simpler to detect and report spammers because it's easy to spot if a certain user is spamming in a thread with only a few replies.

Plus, someone said the spammers are all part of gambling signature campaigns.  but you responded to the comment that the campaign managers know it's a problem here and they wont put up with the spammers in their campaigns.
No, not all of them are not spammers, they just looked like spammers because they tend to post on mega threads due to limited threads being created.

Solutions is suggested above.

Your suggestions will make the number of new threads started and dropped after a week to increase and make discussions even more difficult to follow.
When a certain game is over, there's no reason to follow it anymore, hence that will make a thread inactive, or best if it will be locked by the OP if he is responsible enough to do that.

I believe, based on my observation, that this has been happening on the forum for a while. Not just in basketball, but in the realm of boxing sports as well. You see, there are long threads dedicated to boxing speculations. However, when a new fight is scheduled, a new thread is created specifically for that bout. This makes it easier to follow the latest developments, including the latest news, rumors, and updates on betting odds.

Let's not only consider the forum rules but also take into account the perception of the gamblers. I believe that sports betting enthusiasts and responsible forum users would better understand the sentiment expressed in my post.
656  Other / Meta / Re: My suggestion on how to reduce the spam problem in gambling board, what's yours? on: October 20, 2023, 06:51:49 AM
if there are posters who want to share their insights, they could create a dedicated thread for each game. In these threads, they can include statistics, betting predictions, and any information that can help members who subscribe to that particular thread stay informed about how the poster's predictions are unfolding.
Yeah, this is what we would see in the gambling discussion section Roll Eyes.

What about talk with those campaigns managers to request them to pay only to quality post?

There's no need for that, as campaign managers know how to perform their tasks. They are also well aware of the level of spam in the forum, so they won't tolerate spammers in their campaigns.

Just Kidding, but i bet that most of those spam comes from users on signature campaigns related to sport and gambling?

No, not in my opinion. I believe their discussions are more specific. They are humans, and they know what they are talking about. They focus on current events, and there's no way an article or AI would be of much help for their responses.

I'm specifically referring to generic threads like "How to stop gambling addiction?"
658  Other / Meta / My suggestion on how to reduce the spam problem in gambling board, what's yours? on: October 20, 2023, 02:34:40 AM
As we all know, the Gambling Board is one of the most active boards in the forum. However, some members may be wondering why they aren't receiving merits. My guess is that merit sources may struggle to review the numerous posts and topics due to the high volume, and some threads are quite generic, with answers that can easily be found through quick research. We don't discourage posting, but there should be limitations on how long a thread can stay active. This should be based on the judgment of the moderators because when a topic remains active for an extended period with redundant answers, it can turn into a spam thread.

In my opinion, the most relevant topics are related to sports betting. Updates are frequent, and members are eager to discuss matters concerning their betting decisions. Some of the active threads in this board are as follows:

2023 NBA Season
NBA 2023-2024 betting
NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread
Tennis League All Thread

And many more.

I have a suggestion: I'd like posters to create specific threads for individual games. For instance, today there are six NBA games happening, and if there are posters who want to share their insights, they could create a dedicated thread for each game. In these threads, they can include statistics, betting predictions, and any information that can help members who subscribe to that particular thread stay informed about how the poster's predictions are unfolding. This approach would keep the conversations organized and prevent them from becoming cluttered, unlike general discussion threads where it can be hard to follow the discussion's path.

While some might view this as creating duplicate threads, I believe it would make the discussions more relevant and keep the threads cleaner since they would be topic-specific. I'd appreciate your insights on this idea and any suggestions on how to improve the board further, given that we can't prevent posters from making posts there, especially since many of our signature campaigns are likely gambling-related, and their rules require members to make a minimum number of posts to get paid.

For the active campaign, we can see in Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns

By my count, 17 out of the 28 total active signature campaigns are associated with casino platforms, which means that 60% of these campaigns focus their posts on the gambling section. Without taking necessary actions to address this issue, the Gambling Board may be flooded with redundant posts, or in other words, spam.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Casino Industry's Contribution On Your Country By Percentage on: October 19, 2023, 12:40:49 PM
We can't deny that the gambling industry has a significant impact on the economy, but it varies from country to country. In developed countries like the USA, many people can afford to gamble for entertainment without significantly affecting their finances, which isn't the case in poorer countries.

Let me provide an example from my country, the Philippines. We have state-sponsored gambling, such as the lottery or commonly known as lotto in the Philippines, which generates substantial revenue for the government. While this isn't like casinos, where people can lose larger sums of money, some individuals still become addicted despite the slim chances of winning.

Now, speaking of casinos, we have the POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators). These are often operated by Chinese businessmen who come to the Philippines to run their businesses. The government benefits from the tax income generated by this operation. However, there are restrictions on citizens gambling in these establishments, which are primarily intended for tourists or high rollers within the country.

By limiting access to the casinos, the government can increase tax revenue while also ensuring that the financial status of the average person isn't negatively impacted. Unlike traditional casinos, which are open to everyone, including those with limited means, this approach aims to reduce the temptation to gamble excessively. Effective control and policy implementation are crucial to ensure that the gambling industry has a positive impact on the overall economy.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play equal to deposited funds before you can withdraw on: October 19, 2023, 11:31:07 AM
This is a common rule in most casinos and it is nice because I don't see any reason why you will fund your gambling wallet and you are not ready to gamble with some amount, and later you come back to make withdrawal. This will make the casinos raise eye browns towards your action. It is not also fair to show the casino that you have funds and don't want to use the money to enjoy their service, since they are not banks, where anyone will just dump some money and withdraw immediately. One should note that if you don't want to use that money for gambling, there is no need that you put it into your gambling wallet, if not you will not be given access to withdraw it you wager.

Gamblers who complain about this rule are usually not committed gamblers, as they aren't sure if they're ready to risk what they have. When we gamble, we must understand that the amount we deposit should be ready for action, not something we just leave sitting in a casino, spend a little of your deposit, and eventually withdraw it. It's like you're wasting your time and the casino's time. If you're going to gamble, do it wholeheartedly, as that's where the real enjoyment is found. Gamblers aren't known for being timid, right? We even go all-in when we're desperate.
