6441  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-15] A Mysterious $3B Chinese Ponzi Scheme Is Being Blamed for Bitcoin’s on: August 25, 2019, 01:31:41 AM
If it is not a Chinese ponzi moving all those coins, then who? A rich investor? All bitcoin addresses of his are now marked, no more financial privacy for him hehehe.

In any case, Chainalysis launched a real time alert service for 15 coins. It might be helpful for suspicious transactions, however, it might also be used for blacklisting wallets.

Blockchain intelligence firm Chainalysis has introduced "suspicious cryptocurrency transaction alerts" in "Chainalysis Know Your Transaction (KYT)", its "real-time anti-money laundering (AML) compliance solution".

According to Chainalysis, this new feature results in alerts being generated "whenever a transfer involves a risky counterparty and crosses a value threshold." Alert levels (Severe, High, Medium, and Low) are "based on factors such as category, service, direct versus indirect exposure, direction of funds, and amount," and are available for all 15 cryptocurrencies that Chainalysis supports (including BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC, USDT, and DAI).

Michael Breu, Gemini's Chief Compliance Officer, also chose to comment on this announcement:

As a New York Trust company we are required to monitor transactions on and off our platform. Tools like KYT alerts, which provide real time and ongoing blockchain analysis, coupled with Gemini's own compliance policies, help us meet our regulatory obligations.

6442  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-08] Blockstream Reveals Massive Bitcoin Mining Facilities on: August 25, 2019, 01:01:13 AM
Huh there's no good reason why not (there aren't even any bad reasons as of yet)
You seem to be more optimistic than I am. I just get the impression that the developers are too conservative and think that we shouldn't implement things that are new because who knows what effect it will have on Bitcoin.

If you're completely honest and take off your perma bull cap, how long do you think it will take before we see taproot and Schnorr signatures implemented?

Lightning/segwit are not 10 years old, what are you talking about? Huh
I was referring to how after nearly a decade we so far have only had SegWit and LN as scalability/upgrades. That's what I consider a poor show. Not even a block size increase. This isn't what I consider progress.

The on-chain transaction throughput is capped at ~400k transactions on average with SegWit not gaining more adoption.

However, also consider what the other projects are doing on scaling their own cryptocoins. Most of the altcoins also have nothing working.

Scaling blockchains might be harder than everyone first thought or also maybe impossible.
6443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 24, 2019, 04:15:23 AM
Underrated or it might also be unproven. This season with the Clippers will show what kind of an effect Kahwi has on which team he plays.

We should not be influenced by the media hype. They are similar to bitcoin news media that hype ICOs hehehe.

Winning 2 championship is enough to prove that Kawhi is star caliber type of player, actually he can retire now and he will be remembered as one of the best players in the NBA. There are a lot of good players in the NBA, but most of them did not win a championship, this guy won 2 championship and was a Finals MVP on that win.

Agreed. Kawhi is an NBA all star, however, I was asking whether he is on of the greatest of all time list with Michael Jordan, Kobe and Lebron. I do not think he is yet.
6444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: August 24, 2019, 03:32:13 AM
This is the beginning. We might witness Aeon pump on over 10k satoshis again. However, this time, it might not be dumped down. The project has never been better from the support of a small but loyal followers.

Thank you everyone.
6445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peter Schiff speculation, bitcoin will never hit $50k on: August 23, 2019, 04:01:49 AM
bbc.reporter, is it some kind of inside joke that you never get the fucking photo right of the guy you are supposedly referring to?

And yes, Peter Schiff will never live this one down when it comes to pass Bitcoin @ 50K.

What do you mean? I will never do something like that. This is outrageous, I shake my head hehehe.

That is a nice screenshot of Tom Lee and Peter Schiff together. Bump that once bitcoin is on $50k hehe.
6446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: August 23, 2019, 03:26:45 AM
Is Nate Diaz Dana's new pet? He might be. It appears Conor's leading fan, Dana, has become Nate's fan after a video of Conor punching an old man went viral hehe.

UFC president White spoke to reporters during the UFC 241 post-fight press conference. When asked about Diaz’s star power, White couldn’t deny that the Stockton native has the “it” factor (via Bloody Elbow).

“Yeah, pretty tough to deny (his superstardom),” White told media members during the UFC 241 post-fight scrum. “He’s a needle-mover now.”

TMZ Sports reports that the incident took place inside The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin on April 6. The story goes that McGregor offered to buy shots of Proper No. Twelve whiskey for the patrons. McGregor insisted people indulge, however one man refused and paid dearly for it.

It’s unclear if the two traded words, but McGregor was heated enough to punch the older man.

6447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 23, 2019, 02:46:35 AM
@Reid. Kahwi is not on that level and he might not reach that level, I reckon. It is hard.

Lebron is on that level, however, he will never be viewed as the best similar to how Michael Jordan is viewed as the best. Hard hehehe.

It can't be avoided that there are some comparison, Leonard is good because he won the championship 2 times already and until now he is still an underrated player. Maybe because he wasn't recognize as a star when he enters in the NBA unlike Lebron James that he knew already that he can be like Kobe when he first entered in the NBA.

Leonard is still 28 years old and he will continue to develop himself, and though he doesn't have a fancy moves like Lebron and Kobe, but look at his stats, he is so consistent, he come up clutch in different important occasions and that's the quality of a real star.

Under rated. That is correct. You know why?

I remember Kenyon Martin's interview about CP3.
There is a difference between a look of analyst than what is really happening in the locker room.
Same thing with what happened with Kawhi. He wasn't seen by analyst, specially ESPN.
So, who will hype his greatness? None.
Oh! But look at Lebron. Before he even came to NBA all the media and praises are unto him, red carpet on his way and throwing all the money at his walkway.
While Kawhi stay humble and still got to snatch 2 championships and yet until now, still no hype about him.
All are still on Lakers.

Underrated or it might also be unproven. This season with the Clippers will show what kind of an effect Kahwi has on which team he plays.

We should not be influenced by the media hype. They are similar to bitcoin news media that hype ICOs hehehe.

James Bilal Khalid Caan - Satoshi Nakamoto

Why all the buzz?
Did he sign a message with the priv key of one of hi known addresses? No?
Was it explained that it's just a marketing gimmick? Yes.
Well, the more the discussion on this subject, the more it will be used, over and over again.

Please don't pay attention to anybody claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto unless he provide a properly signed (new) message.

I do not know hehe. Also, do not shoot the messenger please. Slow death asked if there were any updates on the news. I was only showing him that nice picture of Satoshi hehehe.
6449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: August 22, 2019, 03:08:03 AM
@Cryptotourist. I would agree with you if there was not a better coin to gobble up. However, do you not think that the whales would more readily gobble up bitcoin than grin for the next 5 years?

Also, are the miners not selling grin to hold bitcoin?

6451  Economy / Speculation / Peter Schiff speculation, bitcoin will never hit $50k on: August 22, 2019, 01:40:23 AM
Let us balance the speculation subforum with some of Peter Schiff's permabear trolling. We cannot listen to Tom Lee all the time, can we hehehe?

For a man that wants nothing to do with Bitcoin, economist and Euro Pacific Capital CEO Peter Schiff never misses an opportunity to share his opinions about the cryptocurrency.

His latest prediction? “Bitcoin will never hit $50k,” Schiff proclaimed today on Twitter.

Schiff is well-known in the world of finance as an unapologetic goldbug, a catalog of profitable investments—and, yes, correctly predicting the 2008 U.S. housing bubble and ensuing financial crisis.

Dana might be afraid to organize Tony Ferguson versus Khabib again hehe. He already organized it 5 times and something always went wrong and canceled. It is cursed!
6454  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3B Ponzi Scheme is Dumping BTC by the Hundreds on: August 21, 2019, 03:49:53 AM
@exstasie. No, she might only have gotten very excited when she was beginning to suspect something, however, Blockchain analytics might not be for her hehehe.
6455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: China Center for Information and Industry Development altcoin pumps on: August 21, 2019, 03:31:44 AM
Can the SEC consider the China Center for Information and Industry Development a ratings agency like ICObench or ICOmarks? I reckon they function similarly and it would not be that dubious to speculate that they also accept payments from projects like EOS, Ethereum and Tron to shill.

The SEC penalized Russia-based ICO Rating for failing to disclose it was being paid to shill cryptocurrency projects. The enforcement action comes as the Commission continues to crack down on firms that tout crypto securities without disclosures.

ICO Rating is one of several mostly Russian-run crypto rating agencies, behind ICOBench and ICOmarks. The firm advertises itself as an “independent” rating and research service on a mission to “help the market achieve the necessary standards of quality, transparency, and reliability.”

However, it seems ICO Rating failed to adhere to its own mission statement. The SEC found that the agency covertly accepted payments to shill cryptocurrency securities that were supposedly being evaluated ‘independently.’

ICO Rating violated the anti-touting provisions of the Securities Act of 1933 because it “failed to disclose that it was paid by certain issuers whose ICO offerings it rated,” said the Commission.

ICO Rating agreed to pay disgorgement and prejudgement interest of 107,000 and civil penalties of $162,000, without admitting or denying the SEC’s findings, for a total of $269,000.

6456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: August 20, 2019, 03:13:33 AM
@Cryptotourist. I am not certain if an infinite coin supply similar to grin or dogecoin are good to accumulate for the whales. The coin % that they will be holding will be reduced as new coins are mined.

@estenity. It is not only a protection versus dusting attacks but also a protection versus influencers from tweeting about large amount of coins moving and assuming something bad and tweeting about it in social media to cause a panic.

Dove Wan is an example if she is wrong. Search for her name in the news.
6458  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3B Ponzi Scheme is Dumping BTC by the Hundreds on: August 20, 2019, 01:45:19 AM
This story begun when someone called Dovey Wan begun to suspect some large movement of bitcoins by some wallets and begun to spread ehat she has discovered in twitter.

Carlton Banks might be right and Dovey Wan might be wrong. However, where are the large amount of bitcoins going? Are they going to exchanges? How much has been sent to them? What are the exchanges not telling us? Are those coins frozen by exchanges?

Many questions.

@bryant.coleman. They will have no liquidity problems. They had an IEO for LEO tokens which raised $1 billion if bitcoin news media reporting is to be trusted hehe.

Also, I reckon exchanges do not want Tether to fail. If it fails, most of them might also fail. It is a Tethered world in the cryptospace.

It would be very funny if the person they reveal as the real Satoshi Nakamoto was Chinese hehehe.

I will disguise myself by using a japanese name as a pseudonym because I predict everyone's reaction will be to look for a caucasian.
