6441  Economy / Speculation / Speculating with Tom Lee on: July 19, 2019, 01:53:09 AM
Instead of creating a new thread everytime, all news about Tom Lee's bitcoin speculations and other things on his life will be in this thread hehehe.

In any case, the first article. Will he predict it right for the 4th quarter this time or will this be a funny one again?

Lee was of the view that with the added focus on Facebook’s cryptocurrency Libra, the momentum gained by cryptocurrencies could carry Bitcoin to an all-time high as investors panic of missing out on the opportunity.

“Bitcoin is now trading at a level that it’s only seen 3% of its historical days. If you go back to every milestone that that was achieved, bitcoin subsequently rallied somewhere between 200% to 400% within the next four months, so I think if that’s playing out this time that means bitcoin could be $20,000 to $40,000 sometime in the fourth quarter.”

Lee also talked about the impact that Facebook’s Libra could or could not have on the overall crypto community. He insisted that Libra would have no impact on the long term success and adoption of cryptocurrencies. “In a world without Libra, is crypto going to be successful? Absolutely. So, I don’t think it changes the long-term outlook for bitcoin,” Lee said.

6442  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-18] IDEX set to begin transition period for KYC and AML compliance on: July 19, 2019, 01:30:02 AM

Can this be the start of the new trend...decentralized exchanges doing what centralized do? In other words, we are just experiencing the reality of doing business and the power of the government to regulate exchanges. Amidst the many idealistic statements as to the power of the government, the thing is that we are still living in the real world and not yet in the ideal one. Dealing with cryptocurrency does not mean we can now do away with the power of the government....sad but true. I am sure that other decentralized exchanges will be following this step made by IDEX. KYC and AML compliance is the way for these exchanges to continue doing business, that is the fact whether we like it or not.

They have taken away their most important advantage over centralized exchanges. What would be next? The ability to freeze their users' funds? Why choose the decentralized roadmap for that? Be centralized.
6443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 18, 2019, 03:18:50 AM
@Lan75. To gather more clicks hehe.

Wow Jalen thinks the Warriors will sink to the 7th spot after years of dominating the western conference.  I predicting the Lakers to finish in first, Lebron will have a strong fire burning after missing the playoffs last year and he got to rest after so many deep playoff runs year after year.

He is basing it on the way the team in West are stacking up, Lebron, Kawhi in LA uniforms now. Plus GSW also overall their second unit so it make sense that they're no longer the favourites and possible to drop at the 7th-8th spot. But I'm sure they could make the playoff but it will be difficult to go to the WCF.

I really don't understand why Houston is on top, yes they have one of the best duo, but it's not yet proven, as compare to Lillard and Mccollum.

It is only a projection. He might also be a Rockets fan hehehe. However, the Clippers is the top favorite to win the 2020 NBA title according to the sportsbooks. 4.16 odds for the Clippers and 12.0 odds for the Rockets in Cloudbet.
6444  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-07-18] IDEX set to begin transition period for KYC and AML compliance on: July 18, 2019, 02:23:09 AM
I reckon they should also announce their transition period for the change in name from IDEX to ICEX hehehe. Also, look at their announcement's added bonus. Who are these scammers trying to scam?

IDEX, the popular hybrid decentralized exchange, today made an announcement concerning new and existing users, who will now be able to create Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verified accounts from Wednesday, July 24th, 2019. This is in line with last years statement from the exchange and an announcement in March, which disclosed a collaboration between IDEX and regulatory technology (RegTech) provider, Blockpass.

The IDEX team not only pursues compliance, but is also eager to start this new phase, so customers are somewhat closer to the exchange. This will make it easier to share news and product updates as well as listen to the community and use feedback to create more features.

“As an added bonus, the launch of accounts means we will finally get to know our customers – i.e., you – better. We’ll more easily be able to launch requested features, and we’ll finally be able to get in touch to share product notifications, asset updates, and essential alerts to help you stay on top of your trading.”
– IDEX Team

6445  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-15] Angry Investors Burn down Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Operator’s Home on: July 18, 2019, 01:35:25 AM
@buwaytress. However, what if he is only a common street scammer who did the scam to save some money and feed his family?

Now that I see the house burned, I am uncertain if he deserves this hehe. Yes, he deserves to be imprisoned for more than 10 years, however, losing your home? What if he has a family?

Burned house is nothing for him, you forget (or you did not read) how much money he put in his pocket? He is drive away in his luxury car full with cash, and now he probably enjoys it while planning a new fraud.

There is no jail for people like him, police is on his side, and I bet he has some judges on his payroll. Even if convicted, he will get some funny little punishment, it is much better for system to let him go away.

He is not on that level, I reckon. Look at his poor house hehehe!
6446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: July 17, 2019, 02:28:22 AM
@Febo. It might depend on the hype behind Grin. However, risking Cryptotourist jumping off a cliff, Grin's monetary is what might prevent it from reaching $50 within 533 days. I reckon $15 might be a more possible valuation.
6447  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-15] Angry Investors Burn down Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Operator’s Home on: July 17, 2019, 01:52:37 AM
Just matter of time before the schemer burned alive Tongue

But half of the problem lies within investor who are uneducated and didn't use common sense. If you're educated, you know it's either scam or ponzi scheme while & if you use common sense, you know it's too good to be true & normally people won't help others get rich quickly.

From news source, i found photo of the burned house (in case anyone curious) :

At least it's not made with wood & grass

Now that I see the house burned, I am uncertain if he deserves this hehe. Yes, he deserves to be imprisoned for more than 10 years, however, losing your home? What if he has a family?

look at the articles he writes:

and look at one of the articles he wrote month ago:

Bitcoin is for Suckers – Fight Me

the guy hates bitcoin and altcoins, but the ridiculous is that he writes it in a site that is related to cryptos. It is a shame that ccn publishes these articles

He was hired for moments of dumps and crashes. This will cause their article factory business to have a continous stream of hits and clicks by manufacturing bull and bear articles in pumps and dumps hehe.
6449  Economy / Speculation / Re: why Bitcoin sudden dump, when it will bounce again... on: July 17, 2019, 12:13:33 AM
We need more Tom Lee. Paging Tom Lee, what is your location? Holders of bitcoin need bull comfort and assurances hehehe.

Current Bitcoin Pullback is Healthy, Says Tom Lee

It’s healthy to see #bitcoin pullback here.

As for the search traffic for bitcoin being low, I also think that is a good sign. It means the rise in bitcoin has not been accompanied by massive hype.

6450  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bitcoin news writer wants bitcoin price down on: July 16, 2019, 04:07:33 AM
@mjglqw. Did a cryptocoin news site hire him to create a good cop, bad cop routine? When bitcoin's price fluctuation is 10% lower they put his article on the headline and when the price is fluctuating 10% higher they put a bitcoin bull's article hehehe.
6451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 16, 2019, 03:43:28 AM
@btc_angela. I reckon that would be a mistake for the aging Manny hehe. His knees are not similar to what they were many years ago versus Margarito Cotto.
6452  Economy / Speculation / This bitcoin news writer wants bitcoin price down on: July 16, 2019, 02:01:54 AM
I reckon this might imply that there are whales who want to create fear to cause bitcoin to fall so they can buy or they are in a short position.

In any case, why this sudden sentiment from a bitcoin news journalist? Did JP Morgan pay for this article hehehe?

Tom Lee disapproves

The Feds Will Kill Bitcoin via Regulation

We’ve seen this before.

In 2011, the online poker world was rocked when the DOJ indicted executives of the biggest poker sites, seized the websites and froze player accounts.  It also turned out Full Tilt Poker was a Ponzi scheme in which only $60 million was available yet players had $390 million owed to them.

Barack Obama’s administration hated payday lenders, gun dealers, and pornography operators. So they attempted to shut those businesses down by choking off their access to the financial system. The FDIC threatened banks with fines and litigation unless they refused their business, while ACH houses that facilitated online payday loan transfers were shut down.

Make no mistake. The federal government wants bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies dead.

They will choke the life out of them through regulation.

Naturally, foolish bitcoin traders rushed into bitcoin and sent its value higher because they don’t really understand what Steven Mnuchin said. Now they do.

6453  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-14] Wells Fargo Won’t Allow Customers To Buy Bitcoin on: July 16, 2019, 01:30:36 AM
Shall we add a little nuance? It says they're not allowing their customers to buy with their credit cards which falls into line with plenty of other banks. Your debit card or bank transfer is just fine.

This appears to me that the banks might be anticipating another fomo hehehe. They cannot risk their credit card holders to be in debt and not pay them.

The lessons of late 2017 hehe.
6454  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-15] Angry Investors Burn down Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Operator’s Home on: July 15, 2019, 05:48:13 AM
@malevolent. It might be a regular African house made of wood and grass that has no security. How else would the victims have entered and looted the house and burn it?
6455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 15, 2019, 04:45:41 AM
@LTU_btc. I was enoying the race between Max and Charles Leclerc until the Sebastian, Max incident. Max might also have overtaken Charles if their battle continued for more laps.

However, Sebastian immediately apologized and Max happily accepted. Why is Max effortless on being ok about it? It appears he does not care. Will he leave Redbull after this year?
6456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: July 15, 2019, 03:58:29 AM
We should learn something from Grin's transition.

Yup the transition will happen in 28 days when there will be more GRIN in existence then AEON. And it will never reverse again. A solid permanent transition.

One week to go.
Then will be:
15854612 Aeon in existence and 15912540 Grin.
3559 Aeon mined a day worth $2619 and 86400 Grin mined a day worth $334368.
Aeon mining inflation will be 8.19% and Grin's 198% or as its today more modern to say Aeon Stock to Flow will be 12.1 compared to Grin 0.5.

Transition is real!

What transition are you implying? I said we should learn from Grin's transition plan on slowly changing to 100% Asic mining that would occur in a 2 year period.
6457  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-07-15] Angry Investors Burn down Bitcoin Ponzi Scheme Operator’s Home on: July 15, 2019, 03:13:15 AM
The lesson is never to create a bitcoin ponzi scheme in South Africa to take advantage of thousands of poor Africans who will not think twice of burning your home hehehe.

Per sources close to the incident, gullible investors who pumped their hard earned money into a Bitcoin Ponzi scheme organized by a Ladysmith resident named Sphelele Sgumza Mbatha, have taken the law into their own hands by setting Mbatha’s property ablaze.

6458  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-12] Japanese Exchange Hacked for $32 Million in Cryptocurrency on: July 15, 2019, 02:54:04 AM
In any case, I reckon this might be another inside job. Yakuza hehe?

It is very easily possible, imagine yourself in a situation when you have access to dozens or hundreds millions $, and you can hack them anytime. Some simply can not resist to such temptation, and if they are smart enough until it is discovered who is the true culprit, they may be far from the reach of justice.

Crypto exchanges should pay more attention to their employees, they are in most cases the weakest link in the security chain.

Agreed. Someone can also threaten an employee or the employee's family to force him to do whatever the criminals want within the exchange.
6459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 14, 2019, 03:20:27 AM
@Naida_BR. Agreed! This is also Lewis Hamilton's home race. Team orders hehehe. Also, the 2nd row on the grid is Charles versus Max again. Who will first push the other out on the side?
6460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calm down. on: July 14, 2019, 02:53:14 AM
@bitcoinUF. I reckon he is from America not France hehehe.

@buwaytress. Agreed. However, never include Tom Lee in your list of random idiots. He is a special phenomenon like Gangnam style hehehehhe.
