661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 26, 2023, 03:04:22 PM
It's not that Ryan will be affected or has been affected by this big lost, for sure he can make a comeback again as he have said in the post fight interview. And he has give us a hint that he might go up in weight class as obviously he looks drain at 136 lbs + rehydration clause of 10 pounds in fight night. Might take some time for him to recovery, but he promise that he will be back. Rematch with Tank is out of the picture as 135 lbs.

Is a rematch still possible? I thought there was a clause or something that stated that no rematch would happen if Davis wins.

Yes, you're right. That specific rematch clause was just a one-sided clause because that can only be activated if Gervonta Davis gets defeated versus Ryan Garcia, which as we all know didn't happen, so that might not be possible as for now. But in the coming years, whether if it's at 135 or 140, I think it is possible if fate permits to have these two meet again in one same ring.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 25, 2023, 08:03:27 PM

I agree, which is why he is pursuing even at his age now to become a world champion once again because he can't just leave the division mainly now that there's nobody dominating it. Without Inoue in the same division, he is surely the right boxer who should own it now but I'm just quite confused because they should've made an announcement this month regarding the details and the date of the fight.

There might be waiting for the right timing because if they happened to choose a date that will conflict with other star boxers, their earnings will not be that high. Anyway, this is not really a problem for them since they know what they're doing but the problem here is with the boxer because as much as they delayed it more, the chance for the boxers to get injured will increase and it will probably cost them much because the fight will gonna be canceled if that's gonna happen. They should also consider the age of Donaire, he has only a little time left they really need to rush this fight.

We cannot say they are delaying it because we have no idea when this fight will happen.

We are just speculating that it will happen this year, but until an official announcement has been made, we should not expect it to happen soon.

Promoters will ensure that they make money on this fight. We know that lower weight divisions don't attract crowds compared to higher weight divisions, so timing is very important to ensure that this will result in a win-win situation for both boxers and promoters of the fight.

I agree to that, there's no schedule yet as promoters need to be careful if they wanted to make decent profits from this fight,
not so many are interested in this kind of fight, so better to schedule it away from any other big events.

There might be some fans who want to see Donaire back inside the ring and re-try to claim another belt, like what you said more on timing.

And the way both camps will negotiate and start promoting the possible date of their upcoming fight.

That is already expected especially if they will try and force to set-up the fight in the same month where big fights are going to happen. Promoters and organizers are of course wise enough not to do that because making these fights doesn't come cheap plus they have to pay the boxers too which is quite expensive already, they will try to find that right timing when to set-up the fight to make sure their profits because even if Donaire is known in the industry already, that is not a guarantee that the fight will garner many people because he's just fighting a not so known boxer, despite the fact that this is a championship fight.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 25, 2023, 04:39:15 PM
What a show from Jimmy Butler last night against Bucks with a total of 56 points! I'm currently watching the 2nd half because that is where I felt asleep and I still cannot believe it that Miami took the game and they are leading the series 3-1. Giannis what a rough night with only 26 points and it was all on Lopez for scoring points and sames goes for Middleton who forgot how to score 3 pointers...

I hope they gonna win this series because the Bucks are not really in the mood to win the championship this year because Giannis is not a hundred percent OK and Jimmy Butler's playoffs mode is activated right now and they might gonna rally sooner and jump to the next round after they successfully win this last game. If that happened, surely the best match possible is against the Knicks because they are also surprisingly winning the series as well, and playing the next round with the Heat will surely test their skills.

It's just very unfortunate that the Bucks is dominating in the regular games, had the best record in the NBA if I'm not mistaken. But a single injury in the playoff have chance the complexion of the series. And in game 4, I thought that him playing will make it even as they took a double digit lead down in the 3rd. But as you have said, Playoff Jimmy is activated and scored huge in the 4th quarter. One of the most exciting game this playoff, and what a great comeback as if it is the same Heat that make the finals in the bubbles. So I wouldn't be surprised if they will win this series now, 3-1 lead and the statistics are against the Bucks to overcome that huge lead. What a big disappointment for Bucks supporters here and a big dose for Giannis MVP run.
True, injuries can have a significant impact on the outcome of a playoff series but the Miami Heat are a strong team that deserves praise for their amazing comeback in game 4. Playoff Jimmy is always great to watch and the Heat look to be finding their groove right now. Even though the Bucks may not have much chance of coming back from a 3-1 deficit anything can happen in the playoffs and it is not over until it is over. Regarding Giannis' quest for the MVP a player's season is not defined by one defeat and he has unquestionably had an outstanding year. The unpredictability and drama that sports offer are ultimately what make them so beautiful and this series has certainly delivered on both counts.

Surely the Milwaukee Bucks haven't anticipated that one where Jimmy Butler will rise and carry the team towards the win, I mean it's not every day that we can see Jimmy Butler doing that, I know that he's totally different when it comes to playoffs because of his experience but I strongly doubt that he can maintain those efforts if his team aren't helping him in any way. The Bucks even having this 3-1 deficit, they still stand a chance until the series is not yet finished.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 25, 2023, 02:43:59 PM
I can see that we have 3 games tomorrow and those mentioned match-up does have a 3-1 standing on their respective series, now I believe that at least two teams will advance on the second round because there's that one match-up that I'm not that sure if their series will end tomorrow. This should be fun!

Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics -11 - Dejounte Murray out

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets -8.5 -Anderson out and Nowell is questionable; none for the Nuggets.

Los Angeles Clippers +11.5 vs Phoenix Suns - Leonard and PG is still out for the Clippers while Payne for the Suns.

Its okay if theres no merit popping in, it doesnt mean you arent a good poster, you just continue it and dont mind if its appreciated or not but as long as you did help or contirbute something thats fine.

Also dont be too hard on yourself or pressuring to do more than what you need to share. Topics here can be discuss naturally and no need to make every threads just to meant you are contributing. A simple replied might be helpful already if you suggested or recomended something in a topic. Anyway you are doing great. 666  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner mistakes and how to avoid them on: April 25, 2023, 08:56:46 AM
For me, my advice to beginners is to trade in the long term and stay away from scalping until they have a good experience in trading.

Patience and not being greedy are also important tips. These negative traits are the main reason why many novice traders lose.

In any case, beginners should not enter into large deals at the beginning, and it is always better to enter with what they can afford to lose.
Not only for beginners, but definitely for all traders out there, we should always trade only on the amount that is still manageable to lose. Otherwise, if you let your greed motivate you and think that huge capital will also create huge profits, you will see yourself losing consistently. And for beginners, never believe that trading will make you rich instantly, of course you have to work hard for it and obtain significant knowledge and experiences so that you will achieve that certain phase in life.
667  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: April 25, 2023, 01:41:09 AM
We are seeing more and more projects that are almost 100% built on Artificial Intelligence, like ChatGPT. Here are a few experiments that are linked between ChatGPT and gambling....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDthta5sUGQ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw3pc-47weg

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYegYNkwjR0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlFrI6cLD0E

Do you think AI will be more successful to get a working gambling strategy to win the house... and if they do, what will be the impact on casinos?

I don’t think gambling platforms will feel threaten with this AI presence. In fact, there’s no working strategy in gambling, and those who have made significant profits with gambling are just too lucky enough that they have made an edge over the house. But regardless if you are a noob or an experienced gambler, as long as you don’t have the luck, you will never have the chances to make profits. Also, AI is not good enough with predicting outcomes in the future. As much as gambling platforms are concerned, the fact that it’s always unpredictable and uncertain, then AI will never succeed on that.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 24, 2023, 10:59:20 PM
Learn to say “no”

This is something that you should really be minding or have this kind of behavior on which it is really better where you dont make yourself get easily tempted on buying things which you do see around. If its something that is beneficial then go ahead but its not something necessary then its better to skip out and avoid it.There are people who do have that good self control and discipline when it comes to things specially
if they are aware on how much they've been earning.

Spending something or an amount which is more than you do earn will really be putting you on huge debt and would really be having some financial problem which is something
that we do really need to avoid on or having this kind of behavior.
This is the best option to stop yourself from spending. In life, you can’t get everything you want, so you have to prioritize which ones are highly needed and which ones are not. It’s needs over wants actually. And by learning to say no to those who are non-essentials in the first place, you could have saved more than to spend above your means. That way, you will never be force to take debts and just enjoy whatever you can afford in life.
669  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 24, 2023, 10:45:34 PM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?
I don’t see gambling if there is no money betting in the first place. Because the fact that people resort into gambling, is to make good amount of money. Others may even find it as an instant way to get rich most particularly with lottery gambling. Maybe, for some who are just playing for fun without money involved, it could be gambling for them but in the real scenario, gambling will always be associated with money and wealth.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: Living ones life on assumption and promises on: April 24, 2023, 10:28:06 PM
when it comes to money we should be able to think more realistically and maybe there are some people you mentioned who easily believe what other people say, but people who use their logic will not easily believe what other people say, specially about money.
For noobs, they might be attracted with money promises ad they easily believe if other people will tell them that they will eventually get good amount of money. But for those people who are much more experienced with money matters, and that money could easily slip out of our hands, then they will always doubt if some people will make promises about money. It could be true, but admit it, most of them cannot really realized their promises.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 23, 2023, 10:58:11 PM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.

I've always gambled just for fun, but at the same time I'm aware of many peeps who are using gambling to make a living. I've never asked what they're doing to be successful but they're probably using some kind of system or strategy. I mostly do betting and I have to say that it's very hard to earn money by placing impulsive bets or just following any kind of betting tips.
Well, I’ve also known some gamblers who are making a living out from betting but it’s not like they are making consistent profits since other days also bring losses for them. So just imagine how they will provide for their family if they are not making profits that day. That is why gambling is never meant to be a source of living but rather a source of entertainment. As a gambler, profits do not just mean pure money, it may also mean you were satisfied with your gambling experience and that make you somehow profitable that day.
672  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will you sell because of situations? on: April 23, 2023, 10:43:58 PM
Are you making surveys to get to know how bitcoiners think, so that you can start kidnapping people for money? Do you want to know if we value our bitcoins more than the lives of our siblings?

I'm not in the position to decide for someone else. He should know what to do, but usually it's better to work with the police and make sure the ransom is paid in a secure way and the person who picks it up gets identified. He shouldn't do anything on his own because there's no guarantee thy won't kill his sister after getting the ransom just to get rid of a witness.

If this is true there should be an article about it somewhere, or at least the girl should be reported missing. Care to share it, OP, or is this fake?
Most likely, OP is just creating this whole story. But whether it’s true or not, you should not be confused if you’re going to sell or not, life matters more than money. The important is the safety of your sister, even if it means losing all your bitcoin in your account. But of course, everything should be done legally. Otherwise, you will also be put in danger while rescuing your sister alone. You should learn to cooperate with the police officers so they can help you with this miserable situation.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 20, 2023, 05:52:49 PM
Thurman being quiet on the issue makes us wonder why, the Crawford - Spence is already everywhere it's not a secret big boxing media and pages are posting this, we are sure that it already reaches Thurman's camp, there's a big possibility that Thurman agreed to the fight and preferred to keep quiet and let both camps do the announcement and he'll just do a follow-up after an official announcement on the said date.
Both threads the Thurman - Spence thread and this are open so anything is not sure until there's an official announcement.
There is a poll here I am not yet voting until there's an official announcement this is still a speculation thread.

Most likely that is the case, that's why even though Thurman vs Spence is being expected this month, we haven't heard anything from Thurman himself. The odd thing is that he is also on the media and opening his mouth. But this time, he wasn't even mentioning in whenever he is being interviewed which makes us believed the fight could have been a diversion for the much anticipated Spence vs Crawford.

Just a week from now we will learn if the fight is going to happen. Don't want to put my hype on it, but maybe we will finally see the Spence vs Crawford after all.

Yes, I just remembered it. This month was indeed the month where Spence and Thurman was supposed to fight as the last article that released months ago regarding this fight said that they are looking forward to make the fight happen in April. But since time has already passed and we're already in the middle of April, I think we will have an interesting announcement next week because if the Errol vs Thurman will happen, they should've reported a final schedule last month as we know promoters and organizers needed an extra full 1-2 months to advertise a fight.

That's why when this fight is announced, it's been months before April. And with that we have a lot of time to discuss and share our opinions and debate about the supposedly Thurman vs Spence.

But as time goes by, everyone is scratching their heads because there was no update, no press conference kick off, no nothing. As if they just announced this fight to show that it's in the works. But obviously, by this time, this just could be some tactics or to hide their real intentions, Spence is secretly negotiating or the other way around, Spence is on the table and talking to Spence and his camp once again. So we will hear the big news this April 22.

Sometimes I can't help but think why Spence is playing this way, he could've had some safer fights rather than to wait for the governing bodies to give him the mandatory fights which is now inevitable because IBF is making their way to give Spence another mandatory, so it's either he will face Crawford or face the mandatory boxer, Boots Ennis and if he won't make some move, he will be stripped and the IBF will be vacated. So hopefully, there's indeed a news in the Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis fight. Hopefully it's against Thurman or Crawford.

I guess, by now, we should be already accustomed to it as it is already given and already happened various times that the belt holders with influential promoters will always have their way. We might not have any concrete evidence to point out what who's who and what happened but we are also not that dumb to know that these sanctioning bodies are in someone's payroll.

Just be patient mate, the most awaited date is already around the corner. We just have to wait what will be their announcement as either way, we will still witness a good fight and it doesn't really matter if it's Crawford or Thurman against Spence as both bouts are asked for many.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: April 20, 2023, 05:27:24 PM
I already put money on Jake Paul in a bet with a friend who seems to think Nate Diaz is going to be able to jump sports and compete. I personally never considered Nate a striker, so I think he’ll be covered in blood by the end of the night. MMA fight, Nate chokes him out in under a minute. Boxing though? My money is on Jake and it feels safe.
I will tail that.
I am a big fan of Nate Diaz in MMA but I also realize he is not the guy who throws a lot of punches, he relies on his strong chin and toughness so he will be like a sandbag here again Jake Paul. "Jabs." That is where Paul will win and the fight goes until round 8, Diaz will probably lose in the score. That's if no one gets knocked out unless Nate will have a chance to land a lucky blow.
I also am doubting the resistance of Diaz in an 8-rounder. He might lack the stamina to go on and will just stand in the ring just to finish the fight.
Plus, Paul will be focused on winning after his recent defeat.

That's what exactly happens when Mcgregor fought Mayweather the lack of stamina, boxers' training is very different they trained to last 10 or 12 rounders and they are good at pacing and reserving their strength Jake already knows how to do this he knows where to pick the round where he will be aggressive and rounds where he will reserve his energy, I don't think Nate can keep with that he should have a strong belly because Jake is going to target that to slow down his movement he cannot rely on kicks or grappling, to stop Jake Paul attack.

Seems like everybody who wanted to bet on this fight are wagering in the side of Jake Paul and I cannot really blame them for that because that is indeed a safer bet compared to a professional MMA fighter who don't have any good experiences in fighting inside the ring and will be his 1st time fighting a professional boxer in a professional boxing match. Furthermore, the advantages are already pointing out towards Jake Paul because this fight will happen inside the boxing ring.

What could I say, good luck with Nate Diaz because even if they still got a few more months to prepare. I don't think that will be enough.

People would definitely choose to bet on Jake Paul because they know that he has a bigger edge in this fight. I'm not underestimating Nate but he really needs to prepare and strengthen his stamina as well as his speed before he faces Jake Paul. It also seems that Jake Paul is also eager to win this match. It will be more exciting if Nate will show off his real capability just to win but it will surely be a big challenge for him.

Other than that, just like what you have mentioned, Jake Paul is eager to win this fight because he needed a win to bounce back from that defeat he experienced recently against Tommy Fury. As we can see, Jake Paul is only having a hard time against a boxer and not against an MMA fighter, I know that against Woodley and Silva is not easy but the thing is, he still managed to get a win even if Silva got already had a few decent boxing bouts in his record.

Nate is good, he's not good to underestimate because he will literally charge any opponent without surrendering but this is a boxing fight, therefore, the advantage is not on his side and we should remember that as Nate haven't had any fights in boxing which also suggests that he will really have a hard time in this fight.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 20, 2023, 04:36:58 PM
Saturday night event! A big one. The fight that we had been waiting for. The expensive one that I just mentioned above.  Grin

https://www.premierboxingchampions.com/gervonta-davis-vs-ryan-garcia
April 22, 2023 Saturday, 8 PM Eastern Time.
The undercards:
Sena Agbeko versus David Morrell Jr. WBA Super-Middleweight Belt (Regular)
Gabriel Rosado versus Bektemir Melikuziev - Super Middleweight Fight

Place your bets!
Hopefully, I won't be that busy so I can watch this fight. I already got Tank by stoppage but I honestly want Garcia to score an upset. It's really crazy how Showtime tries to mislead by calling Tank a 3-division champion. And Tank is starting to believe these lies when he said that he already belongs with the greats.  Cheesy

Yes, fight is already approaching near! This should be a good fight and yes, I also got Tank to win by a way of TKO.

Tank's odds are still decent but I just cannot lie that Ryan Garcia's odds are more juicy. The bookies do really know how to do their job because I pretty much had a hard time weighing things and whom to bet as this two are both KO specialist, so there's no way of knowing who really got the advantage as a one simple clean swing will be enough to finish the fight.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 20, 2023, 03:59:33 PM
Too much money coming in on the Lakers.  Vegas never loses, I'm taking the home town Grizzlies here.  With or without Ja I'm taking them.  Ja playing will just be a bonus.  I'm still not convinced the Lakers can keep this up.  I could be wrong.  But betting on a home team as a pickem in the playoffs can never be a bad bet.

I hope you really did pushed through this bet mate because the Memphis Grizzlies won the game even without Ja Morant and I guess many bettors lost this bet because I assume most of them wagered in favor of the Lakers because why not, they've got the advantage and the Grizzlies are without their star and big man. But that's not what happened because Jackson and Tilman well covered the paint, it was a well coordinated game for the team and that's all it takes to defeat the healthy Lakers.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 19, 2023, 07:33:12 PM
It's always funny, and a bit annoying to listen to see Teofimo Lopez interviewed. But at least Teofimo seems to finally recognize that he is facing a fighter that is not just good but great. Earlier, Teofimo was caught on camera asking his team if he still has the fire which probably means that he starts to doubt himself especially when he is fighting the former undisputed and lineal champion of his new division.
Probably, he was just asking someone to add his confidence but if what you said is truly the case, I'm afraid he's already in the losing side because the moment the boxer is already doubting himself is the same moment where he already knew what would be his situation and I pretty much sense that he's not seeing himself in the winner's corner.

Quote
Josh Taylor flew from the UK to Newark, New Jersey during the Stevenson-Yoshino fight because it was a big Top Rank event and he also thought that Lopez will be there to hype their fight. Lopez didn't attend though and Taylor is now bullying him online that he is a coward and he is hiding. This is probably the first time Lopez is not trash-talking his opponent since he became a world champion. Lopez seemed a little bit down mentally lately and is looking for motivation. He also hopes Loma will beat Haney. Maybe he will be motivated if Loma beats young Haney.
Teo was just saying nonsense in that interview and saying how great he is when in-fact he was talking and will face the undefeated champion and a former undisputed champion, we can see that Taylor is just confident that Teo can't honestly bring him down and give his first defeat. Teo probably knew that as we can see it in his face during the interview that he was just bluffing.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 19, 2023, 06:34:02 PM

Why do I feel that the time is very slow lately or maybe I'm just so curious and somehow excited as well what will be the final announcement, few days more to go.

You guys have any guess what would it be? My best guess is that the Thurman vs Spence will be cancelled as the latter isn't really that interested about their fight in the first place as maybe because Spence still didn't forgive Thurman as he was rejected back in the day when he still wasn't famous. And finally, the most awaited unification fight between Spence vs Crawford will happen.

Maybe yes and maybe also the reason why Thurman is so quiet maybe he already anticipating that the possible non-title fight will not happen and all the attention will be on the possible fight between Crawford and Spence, I'm also eyeing for this mega fight to happen, it's been a long waited negotiation that maybe will be settle and might have a final date to announce.

Still no confirmation though, and the only thing that fans can do is to wait for any updates if both camps already sign the contract.

I don't really know what is with Keith Thurman because he surely knew the real score about what happened on their negotiations or if there were indeed some negotiations happened at all. What I'm trying to say here is, I expected more from him than to wait about this fight that will just waste his time, it's surely obvious that Spence is not that interested in fighting him that's why they convinced the sanctioning bodies to take the fight in the weight class where there are no belts at risks for the champion.

And Thurman doesn't have that much time left on his clock because he already wasted years reflecting on that loss against Manny Pacquiao, and now he's wasting time again waiting for a fight that actually got more chances of not happening. At this point, he already know what to do, he's just dumber than I thought.

Therefore, my bet is on the Suns -7.5 and Cavaliers -5.5.

I got a win! It was easy for the Cavaliers, but the Suns game was a little thrilling because they didn't control the game in the early quarters. Luckily, Booker continued his great performance, and they won and covered the spread. Sometimes, when the bet seems difficult, it's the easiest one.
Cheers for you! Phoenix Suns won although I have seen the Clippers gave them a difficult time to claim it. The 1st half was nerve racking as the Clippers reached a 13 point lead. That's where I saw how the Suns can play better than Game 1. Defense will always be the key. This is the playoffs, every possession will be important and now I have seen them being careful with the ball. Let CP3 do the handles and when KD was doubled, find an open man.
Love the game they showed today. Now the question, will they bring the momentum to LA? One game was snatched from their home, it's their chance to get it back.
I trust that they will win to even the series, so I might as well bet on them covering the spread, and that's it. Maybe I will also bet on the teams tomorrow that lost in the first game. Bucks and Memphis will be my bets, maybe as a two-team parlay as well.

By the way, Draymond Green is suspended in game 3, but the spread only moved by 1 point, so I think it signals that the Warriors will still win the game.

So, yes, we do have 3 games later. I might as well go with the Milwaukee Bucks with -7 handicap because I know the team will definitely bounce back especially with Giannis on the floor, he might have got a bad night on their 1st game because of what happened to him but this time will be different as long as there won't be some unexpected turn of events.

On the Miami Heat's side, Lowry is questionable while as we all know, Tyler Herro is out and he is expected to miss four to six weeks.

And then we have the Lakers vs Grizzlies and Nuggets vs Wolves match-up, this will be fun. I'll be with the favorites today except for the Grizzlies because in that match-up, I'm leaning towards the underdogs, the Los Angeles Lakers.
