681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I will pass KYC later is a bad idea on: November 24, 2023, 06:26:11 AM
There are some gambling sites which is not putting KYC as obligation for its users. But there have been many people were trying to play with high bet but they were unwilling to complete the KYC verification where KYC has been ordered by most of the regulators to prevent money laundering
there are for sure and i experience such websites too. The problem is, they allow you to withdraw till a limited amount. specially its okey if amount is small but when you will try to withdraw a healthy/fair amount, then authority asking for kyc as well as additional documents in some cases. Kyc won't be asked for those player whom losses a lot money but suddenly win a fair amount. But if a person continuously win big amounts, such website make kyc hard for those users. This kind of cheap trick. If they have to follow government order to prevent money laundering, then they should clearly mention about kyc process in their website
That's the rule, I mean their rule. We just have to be aware and ready for KYC submission in case they require it. Or if we want to be safe, then we try to prevent winning big money, LOL... Seriously, we should all be aware that gambling sites nowadays could implement KYC at any time since they are regulated. So, it should not surprise us anymore. We can only expect no KYC if a gambling site is a decentralized gambling site, which I think only a few of us are patronizing.

If we didn't read the TOS then provably with that we are not aware of those implementation that might occur to us so before doing anything else on a casino we should read the information posted so we will be aware about the necessary thing that might ask to us in future. And also for this new age of cryptocurrency adoption and most of the platform has been regulated we should not surprised about been ask to do KYC procedure in a casino or on any other else so that we can easily accept that we need to do that for the sake of complying the requirements and can use all the feature of the casino. If we can't afford to do this then maybe its the best time for a gambler to quit since nothing will happen to them if they insist and continue to gamble since their funds will provably lock then the casino will ask them to do that before they can withdraw their funds.

The issue with some gamblers is the assumption that, being in crypto, everything remains anonymous, allowing for privacy to be maintained. However, that's no longer the reality as adoption has increased, and regulations have become tighter. It's essential to bear in mind, especially with recent news (if you're following), that CZ, the CEO of the largest exchange Binance, was arrested and has reached a settlement with the government, agreeing to pay billions to avoid imprisonment. This highlights the seriousness of regulators, as I believe both exchanges and gambling sites are treated similarly when it comes to regulation.
682  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you need to know about trading on: November 23, 2023, 09:41:06 PM
Most people think life is a bed of roses, is all about sunshine,  enjoyment etc not knowing that there's always a  tough time and the ability of one to overcome this time makes him great.  Tough time is the point through which poor and successful people emerges depending on the choices and decision they take.
Most traders and investors are inpatient they only think of the positive side of it ( making profit) not knowing there will always be a loss someday,  well most of them know but when they make losses they became frustrated and unstable,  some will give up because of that little experience.  Sometimes we make losses and we have bad experience like we offend God but no, we are only been tested.  Some of the spirit of a trader or invest is "I can make it mindset, resilience...
This is the reason why we don't need to jump into any conclusion or just decide to trade in wish for bigger profits, if you do that, you will only fail in the middle of your trades. Having your own due diligence to research is a must, not only on the fundamentals and technicalities in trading but also on the experiences made by long time traders. Learning from their experiences will help us motivate ourselves to be great traders as well. And by doing so, we become aware that trading is hard, and quitting is never an option in trading.

There might be inevitable losses in trading but if we can do things to prevent from losing, then it will be a lot better. Trading losses are never bad because somehow you learned from them, but consistent losses and frequent mistakes in trading are never good and healthy at all. You need to find solutions to it.
683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 23, 2023, 02:31:07 AM

EDIT: Hornets currently down 7 at the half. Need some offense.

They are tied at 106 now, this game has been entertaining so far but the big question is if the Hornets will be able to cover the spread. We know how bad this Wizards team is, just hope that they'll be careless in the crucial minutes so Hornets will win and cover, good luck, there's still time yahoo.
Piss poor free throw shooting in the last 1 min 30 seconds. They shot 4-7 on free throws in that time and ended up playing bad defense only winning by 3. Good game, just didn't go my way.
They need to win at least 5 points for you to win. Still more games are currently being played now, if you want to end up having a profitable day, might as well try to bet, many another parlay as it's still possible to have a parlay bet even on live games. Good luck whatever your decision.

685  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk forum a home of solution on: November 20, 2023, 07:04:11 PM
I would say that the forum does not solve the problem. Users may be able to help with advice, but solving everything and everywhere, as they say here, borders on fantasy. OP, are you too fascinated by the forum? How has the forum helped you change your personal life? Or do you have no problems with it? So land on the ground. All you can get on the forum is information about cryptocurrency, and you can earn a little extra money. For me, this is by no means a solution to all, as they say, life’s adversities. If this is not the case, you can be called lucky.
Well, different solutions may be offered in the forum, but we can't really tell that all problems are solved, depending on the intensity of a problem. However, I would say the forum is still a lot helpful because without it, many beginner  investors and traders would not end successful on their careers.

I'm one of those lucky people who benefited a lot in the forum, not only when it comes to valuable knowledge but most especially in attaining my financial status at the moment, so a big thank you to the forum and the members itself.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2023, 02:00:32 PM
If bitcoin is the only crypto existing, then most likely it will have the same fate with fiat. Why? The longer it exists, the lesser value it becomes. The more number of people will get bored using it because there has been no competition that will spur for bitcoin to be more developed and more productive. So whatever it is when its started, then most likely its still the same when it ended.

However, with the presence of altcoins, the market becomes more alive with its healthy competition. And when people see that bitcoin improves, for sure the developers of altcoins will find ways on how to get an edge over bitcoin. So as long as competition exists, both bitcoin and altcoins will dare to be more innovative and responsive to whatever the demands of its consumers.

688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 20, 2023, 11:26:30 AM
Rockets deserved to be praised also. They were tanking big time last year but this season they are devastated to lose the last 2 games. They are of course still young although Van Vleet and Brooks came, they lacked the experience before but they seem much better now. The thing I'm most curious this season is where they will finish in the standings. For now, they seem like they could have a good and successful season.

I didn't expect a lot of improvement from this team, but it seems like Van Vleet and Brooks were really good additions to the team. This team has changed from being a bad team to becoming a very competitive one. Of course, we should not forget to praise the coach, as Ime Udoka has been one of the reasons for the Rockets' success.

In the current standings (https://ph.global.nba.com/standings/), they are at number 7 in the West despite having a 2-game losing streak.

I hope they'll bounce back soon and start winning again; they were on a 6-game winning streak before it was snapped by the LA Clippers.
689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's better to provide Quality and not Quantity... on: November 19, 2023, 09:39:31 PM
Better to have a quality post than a lengthy boring quantity post, in fact it bores me when I see very long posts, especially when the content is very poor. I'd rather have a post not to be too long and straight to the point, it'll be easier to assimilate, and the reader can easily make contributions without breaking too much sweat.

If a quality post has to be long, then let it have a good reason to be so, perhaps to teach something meaningful. A forum like this where we have too many topics to choose from, should have topics and conversations that are quality and not too long, so that participants in the discussion will still be energized when they leave the thread.
However, it also depends on the topic itself that it sometimes requires a lengthy discussion so that all the important ideas will not be missed. But these type of topics are just rare to be seen in the forum, as mostly we need brief and precise post so that the reader will easily get the main point. Yes, its quality over quantity, but newbies seem to have hard time understanding it because they don't even know how to construct a quality post in the first place knowing their crypto knowledge is still limited.

However, everything will be learned in time. So we just need to stretch a little patience and still appreciate their lengthy post as long as its helpful in the forum.
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An easy approach to Bitcoin on: November 19, 2023, 08:48:38 PM
Most people especially kids have heard about Bitcoin or crypto currency without really knowing what it is about or how it works.recently I came across a particular video which I found online.it was an animated video giving a very brief and basic knowledge about the concept of Bitcoin. It talked about why Bitcoin was created, how Blockchain works ,as well as mining.I saw it as a good approach to teaching young ones or even newbies about Bitcoin.Without saying much here is a link to the video.
https://www.facebook.com/reel/3050082035123654?mibextid=Hn3EexMF1WhlYZLE
Kids will definitely love to watch animated videos, but you can't expect that they can fully understand bitcoin just by seeing this video. As long as their minds are not ready yet, they won't totally gain full understanding on bitcoin no matter how hard we try. But no worries, when they reach their mature age, even if we don't introduce bitcoin to them, they will have the initiative to research on it as long as they will see bitcoin as their future.

However, this video could be good enough for new learners, even with kids. But knowing bitcoin is quite complicated, the best way to make a single individual understand bitcoin is to let him do diligent research and get engage him in the bitcointalk forum, rest assured he will learn bitcoin easily.
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade Interim WBC Super Middleweight title fight on: November 19, 2023, 08:21:35 AM
^^^^so to make up for decreasing buys, promoters raise the price for viewers which further limits their audience.

That might not be a good strategy in my opinion. Perhaps their target audience is very limited, considering they're raising the price of PPV subscriptions. Wouldn't it be better if they had more subscribers at a lower price? I mean, volume or pricing can make a fight more profitable. This way, others who can't afford the PPV price won't resort to looking for illegal streams. If that becomes rampant, it could affect the future of PPV subscriptions.

It's bad, and with what the current world economy is doing, everyone is really trying to save their money and this could be one reasons why there are a lot of fights that are not really making money in terms of PPV.

And if they increase the price then most likely boxing fans will have to retort to other methods of watching the fight, it could be some streams somewhere or even in some platform like Facebook wherein there are individuals too streaming high profile fights. But I do agree that this could be one reason that after many years, Sho suddenly shuts down their business because they are not making money anymore. So I doubt that the PPV that Manny and Floyd did before can be broken.

I'm not sure if it's because of the cost or if people just aren't as keen on shelling out for PPV these days. There's this other avenue where folks can catch the fight online for free....you know, those illegal streams that are all the rage now. If someone can get a link, they get to enjoy the fight without dropping a dime. Bumping up the PPV price might be the promoters' solution. Even with the increase, the folks who are really eager to watch would still be willing to spend over the cash. I mean, these are the folks who aren't really feeling the grasp of the economic struggle.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you in profit? on: November 19, 2023, 06:09:30 AM
It's quite challenging to believe someone who claims to be consistently profitable in gambling. Making consistent money in gambling has been an ongoing problem. When we talk about profit, it implies a long-term approach, considering it as a journey with income and expenses contributing to the overall profit. However, despite the belief that it's possible to be profitable in gambling, the reality is that most of us aren't.

Speaking for myself, I'm not among the savviest gamblers out there, so I'm not making a profit. I'm more on the side of covering expenses and having a bit of fun, you know.

694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The people from Bitciontalk are a good company to keep. on: November 18, 2023, 09:58:54 PM
The company you keep has a lot of effect on you. Many Investors who are also forum members would have stopped investing a long time ago or become inconsistent and uncommitted with their investment if they were not in this forum. There is something about being together with people with the same interest you have that I have noticed, their commitment can always motivate you when you feel like giving up, and help you make more stable decisions. Many investors who are not forum members will be finding it difficult to maintain their seriousness to invest regularly because they are doing things on their own. If many of those investors find this forum, it will be very valuable for them.
This is really true. With my own experience, I won't come to survive all these barriers with bitcoin and other crypto investments without some reliable members in the forum that have instilled in me valuable knowledge and ideas that I was able to apply on my own investments. With that, I am more grateful that this bitcointalk forum has been established and until now, its still making a lot of wonders to our crypto investments.

Kudos to the person or the people behind this forum. While its still a lot helpful to the old members in the forum that have started from a scratch, but I think it will be more useful to the newbies in the forum as it could help their knowledge acquisition easier and faster with all the legit and reliable experiences that have been shared in the forum.
695  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: November 18, 2023, 09:25:36 PM
Yes, definitely bitcoin is better. But it is worth knowing about bitcoin and know the right time to invest.

It is better you mention the altcoins. This is because some people will invest or have all their fiat on some altcoins and it would be the worst regret of their lives.

Some altcoins did not got to all-time-high when bitcoin and some other altcoins got to all-time-high in 2020/2021. Many altcoins can be gambled with while their prices have been plummeted to their lowest, but because they may not reach all-time-high, those that invested before when their prices are high may be losing.

Some altcoins are just dead. So research, knowledge and experience are all important.
Fiat value depreciates while bitcoin's value continue to appreciate. This reason alone is a good way to ponder whether you go for fiat investment or just spend your fiat so you can invest in bitcoin. But it takes a lot of research to understand bitcoin and how it works in its crypto market. And if you are faint-hearted, I suggest bitcoin investment is not right for you.

With regards to altcoins, they are just created on the image of bitcoin, but it does not mean that whatever bitcoin achieves, altcoins are also capable of obtaining it. Bitcoin has reached a lot of all time highs in the market, but altcoins just resort into pumping and dumping their value until they lose totally their value and end like shitcoins.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: November 18, 2023, 08:40:26 PM
The cryptocurrency landscape is gradually taking a new turn and am loving it already. It's like the era of BTC dominance and dictation of other altcoins performance is gradually winding down.

TAO, KAS, BGB, TIA among other numerous altcoins are among those that have recorded ATH recently even as BTC struggle to hold up the $36,500 resistance.

Among other altcoins that have been impressive are ORDI, SATS, VMPX, WOJAK and PEPE1.

Fortunately there is an ongoing event for new users on Bitget where there is  $10,000 prize pool in the latest Hotcoins season 5 edition.

As we look forward to the anticipated bullrun come 2024, what altcoins are you holding and why do you think they will bring more returns compared to others?
That's your own views about altcoins, and I respect that. But if you are going to ask me, none of those coins would beat the potentials of bitcoin. Although its undeniable that some altcoins are still worth of our money and time, but it takes a lot of research and understanding these coins so you won't fall investing into shitcoins. Few have the potentials to succeed, but majority would certainly end as dead coins.

However, if you know to timing the market when you hold altcoins, you will still have the chances to make profits. Altcoins are good for short term investments, so you need to sell them before their prices dump and end up zero value. Unlike bitcoin, as long as you hold it patiently, you will gain secure profits in time even if you buy low and sell high.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Math and Gambling on: November 18, 2023, 02:09:17 PM
Also, a person who masters mathematics will not win the lottery, we all know that lottery winners are most of the time people who do not have great mathematical skills and who have no idea about managing finances, which is why most lottery winners they become poor after a few years. In slot games, it depends on luck, so math is good and useless in slot games.

You don't really need to overthink these games; they're pure luck. Just roll with the luck and hopefully, you win. Bringing math into the mix just makes things unnecessarily complicated, and you might find yourself going a bit crazy, LOL.

Having a grasp of the game and our odds is fundamental. Without that, we're just being irresponsible gamblers. Unless we're not taking it too seriously and just doing it for fun, then it's all good.

In sports betting, mathematics helps a little with statistics, but without good knowledge about the history of teams and players and without following the news, then mathematics becomes less effective.

I find keeping up with the news easier than diving into mathematics. Some websites offer free sports statistics, which can be useful. However, the real challenge lies in analyzing the data and figuring out if it can boost our chances of winning. While winning in sports betting is possible without heavy math, the real key to consistent success is letting math guide your decisions.

How many people have you been able to change after they get addicted to gambling? And what is there level of addiction?

Honestly, I'm not great at giving advice on gambling problems because I've personally struggled with addiction. From my experience, I realized that I was the only one who could solve my problem. I don't actively approach people even if I sense they might be addicted to gambling. Out of respect, I let them come to me if they want to share their problems, and I'm always willing to listen. I prefer not to intrude into their personal lives; I value privacy, and emotionally, I can be a bit fragile. If they're hurting, it affects me too.
699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you avoid scammers? on: November 17, 2023, 09:44:10 PM
Do not entertain strangers online, and never click or open messages that are sent from unknown, that is one trap to access your account through getting your sensitive information that you should be protecting in the first place. And in instances that someone will invite you to join their group or channel for free, do not bite the offer because it could be free for now but later on it will already ask a fee or payment in exchange to what you have gotten from them.

The online world is full of scammers. So just act like you're one of them and act smarter and wiser, so you won't be taken advantage by those real scammers.
700  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 17, 2023, 08:58:23 PM
Learning from all my initial mistakes and losses is a big factor. If you trade as a newbie, you are more susceptible to commit errors and end up trading as a loser, but the important thing is you also gained good lessons afterwards which will help you improve and build confidence every time you decide to trade.  And by practicing caution in trading, that will encourage me to limit my errors and losses every time I trade.

There's always inevitable hurdles that are obviously present in the trading market. But as you go on trading and become more exposed to the trading market and its highly volatile and unpredictable market, you will learn to overcome those hurdles and instead build your confidence in the process.
