equinox9 offered to buy the forum for £10,000. LOL.

OP, in case you didn't notice, that is another thread out there about the new forum software.

Questions to theymos about the $1,000,000 forum software project:

To prevent spamming, you will have a 360 seconds time limit when you first sign up.
You need to wait for 360s between your post and PM, and actions like signing up, logging in or searching will reset the timer.

The time limit will be down to 75s when you reach 15 activity though.  Smiley

704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: opinions, warnings, optimism about NXT? on: February 16, 2014, 05:46:55 PM
I've heard a lot about it, I've read a little, now I want to know what people think about NXT and it's PoS system. Is it a good idea? Is it going to be a flop? Why? I personally like the concept but I'm a little confused about it. Anyone up for a discussion?

PS: don't flame.

Nxt should be better than Bitcoin

Care to explain a bit why you believe it is better than bitcoin?

Same problem here  Huh

http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/tigerdirect.com says it should be up

I just checked the tigerdirect FB, and saw a few persons complaining the same problem a few days ago. (one from India, one from Moldova, one from Iceland).

Just did a google search, and it seems the site blocks some IPs.

I am so confused by your posts.
Care to explain what exactly do you mean by "credibility issues" in the OP??
707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Start earn Bitcoins on: February 16, 2014, 05:35:27 PM
Useless site, 100 like it and 1 huge thread with all the websites you listed + tons more.
Just another site to get people to use your ref links and you to get paid from ads.

Well it will take quite some time to earn at least 1 $ Cheesy but still if you dont have anything to do better..

Very true.

But at least OP didn't put coinurl links, and put his whole referral links on his sites (just 2 atm) Cheesy

Welcome gogoman Smiley

You can learn a lot here, simply by wandering around the forum Cheesy
709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bcchanger.com Legit? on: February 16, 2014, 05:25:34 PM
I registered there a while ago and forgot about it..until I started receiving masses spam to my bcchanger specific email address.

Well, the good news is that address is made for bcchanger only Smiley
So, you can probably just abandon it forever Grin

I came across a website that claim they accept Paypal as a Bitcoin Exchange payment is it Secure?
http://bcchanger.com/content/about-bitcoin-exchange
Thank you

I did a whois search for bcchanger.com from WhoisXY.com and found owner details. It looks good. And i visited the site ScamAdViser.com it showed "High Trust Rating. This site looks safe to use."  So, that site is legit. You can use it.

710  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies, stay away from altcoins. please on: February 16, 2014, 05:19:00 PM
I was told Memory coin was worth mining and investing in - isn't tht true?

mining probably...investing probably not...

I pretty much agree with OP, and believe 99% of altcoins are just for pumps and dumps.
You may get profit/loss with short-term trading though...
711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid Virtex - new scam revealed on: February 16, 2014, 05:05:04 PM
May be you guys can use LBC . localbitcoin

+1 to localbitcoins.
You can probably find traders near you easily Cheesy
712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cannot buy and sell Bitcoin. How to do this? on: February 16, 2014, 05:00:57 PM
Try Virwox

I seldom see someone suggesting Virwox Tongue
IMHO, the fee there is pretty bad.
The only good thing about Virwox is that, you can buy bitcoin with paypal (with terrible fee)...
713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sig help much appreciated! on: February 16, 2014, 04:50:27 PM
Newb alert here!

I am trying to create a signature for the bottom of my posts containing a couple of lines of text / couple of colours and a link to my site.

Just a friendly reminder, you need to have 10 posts, in order to put links in your signature Wink
714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CoinLenders / Inputs.io status updates? on: February 16, 2014, 04:48:48 PM
If I remember clearly, inputs.io has been hacked and CoinLenders... I don't really know,
but TF seems to have made a run for his money and never payed anyone back(?)

More correctly, it is TF claimed the site has been "hacked".
TF did pay a tiny proportion back, and than just vanished....

Hi, noob.

GL & fun.

Whats your reason to be rude? Smiley

Because your post seems not very nice for a newbie Tongue

It seems Pordik is from China.
So, I guess it is probably just a translation problem (for the word "newbie" vs "noob")....
717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie have some questions! on: February 16, 2014, 04:33:27 PM
With OP's equipment (macbook pro), I would suggest OP to simply not mine anything with it. It is very easy to get overheating with laptop, and the hashrate will really be far from good (even for GPU mining scrypt altcoins).

For mining I would suggest http://mmpool.bitparking.com/main where you can mine multiple alt-coins as well as bitcoins.

With bitparking, miners can merge-mine a few other sha256 altcoins (Namecoin, Ixcoin, Devcoin, I0coin and Groupcoin) together with bitcoin.

when program is open again ??

Bare with us as we get caught up to speed, we will update this thread early in the week!.

casinobitco (new owner of bit777 and peerbet) mentioned he will update this thread early next week.
So, you will need to wait for a few more days to get your answer Smiley
719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcoin is buying from MTGOX too big a risk? on: February 15, 2014, 07:53:46 PM
Agree with the above posts that you should stay away from mtgox.

My own suggestion for exchanges:
If you don't want to do ID verification, go to localbitcoins.
If you are in US, go to coinbase.
If you are outside US, go to bitstamp.

How many posts are required to be able to PM a member?
 Thanks

There used to be some newbie restrictions, but all were lifted since Jan 20.
All you have now is the 360 seconds time limit, that means you need to wait for 360seconds between your posts and PM.

Actions like logging in, signing up and searching will reset the time though.

BTW, the time limit will be down to just 75 seconds, when you reach 15 activity.
