701  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Build Databases fault on: June 21, 2019, 02:29:33 PM
Have you fully synced your bitcoin core? I'm not an expert on this but i think you need to fully sync your bitcoin core wallet first before it can build those DB'ses.
It seems that this problem also occurs on 32 bit machines, and other instances; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1732347.msg17528990#msg17528990

What do you think about a platform where you can put the address you wish to invest on and it detect if it is a ponzi scheme fraud or not .?

<snip>
This.

And it already exists in various ways;

you have https://badbitcoin.org and https://bitcoinwhoswho.com/scams

They're really not that useful, and only cover 0.1% of scams, only after they've already happend. I'm not sure what you're looking to gain by creating another site like these ones.. Ad rev?
703  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: starcoine.com scam on: June 20, 2019, 07:36:34 PM
Their site looks like it's meant for trading or something though.. I don't see roulette mentioned anywhere?

https://starcoine.com/bitcoin-trading

It's funny though how they have some sort of simulated user trollbox..?
704  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: June 20, 2019, 06:22:51 PM
<snip>
This is a weird story...

You need to explain what happend, since Chipmixer doesn't send any transactions... They either give you your chips, or a voucher.

So, what happend..; you send your funds to the deposit adress, and then you
1. received an incorrect amount of chips?
2. received an incorrect amount of voucher balance?

In which you proceeded to email Chipmixer's support, and which they acted upon by sending the remainder of your "missing" funds to the same adress?
I've never heard about chipmixer sending any funds ever, but perhaps there's a first time for everything.

Nope. I had two chip amounts.  Sent one to my address and waited for it to show up, when it didnt after a couple hours I messaged them saying the coin I sent didnt arrive and that now im unsure how to proceed and do they need a different address.
The chip you received had unconfirmed funds on it when you received it, and then got dropped from the mempool, is that right, or? (I don't think it is, but i don't see any other way in which the conclusion would be you losing your funds due to a mistake from Chipmixer's side of things.)
705  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another cryptos debit card is coming on: June 20, 2019, 05:57:28 PM
Another crypto debit card is coming. The Litecoin Foundation partnered with 2 companies (Bibox Exchange, and Ternio).
LTC... Okay... uhhh who even has that anymore...?

Quote
There is no date as to when the card will be released but people will be able to spend LTC, BIX, and TERN.
Huh What the hell? Why would you promote a debit card with some shitcoins no one has ever heard of.. I seriously don't get it.

Quote
The Litecoin Foundation, Bibox Exchange, and Ternio want to give crypto holders the ability to spend cryptocurrency with the same ease as traditional credit cards. Through this collaboration, these three companies will help propel the adoption of crypto spending in everyday life. Customers will have the ability to make deposits in various cryptocurrencies and then keep their spendable value in Litecoin (LTC), Bibox Token (BIX), or Ternio (TERN).
Nice way to lock people in your shitcoin. Bleh.

Another crypto debit card is coming...
funny that all these guys say the same thing: "it's coming..." and it always only comes to US residents and US and the rest of the world is always left out. I wonder why those from Visa and Mastercard do not allow the rest of the world to have the same opportunity that US and EU people have? Why are they discriminating others countries?
Not big enough of a market to make it worth it for these crypto hobos.
I'm pretty sure VISA and mastercard operate almost everywhere though.
706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC and USDT - Address the same on: June 20, 2019, 02:24:47 PM
Hello all,

Wondering if you can help me please as I am a complete rookie when it comes to bitcoin.

I have purchased some USDT on coindirect this morning and attempted to transfer this to a Huobi wallet to start purchasing.

On Huobi it offers 2 selections for chain name - OMNI & ERC20. How do I differentiate between the 2 please?

I have sent the USDT to the ERC20 address as I didn't buy many and there was a minimum to send to the OMNI address, but I am now worried I would have lost all the USDT.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

DMC
You shouldn't have lost anything. as was already mentioned; USDT operates both on ERC20 tokens, and OMNI. The transaction probably should have been confirmed rather quickly, so if you don't seen any balance at Huobi, check the txid to see if your funds got confirmed.

If they did, you probably should open a support ticket.
707  Other / Meta / Re: Can We have bitcointalk user interface changed to something like Facebook UI? on: June 18, 2019, 07:00:52 PM
I don't use it because it is full of UI ( useless information ).
So is 95% of the content on Bitcointalk...

I like the old-school Bitcointalk UI though.
Perhaps certain fonts could be improved, (and definitely user-readability on iPhone/smartphones in general.) This bitch is giving me mad headaches whenever i try to read for more than 5 minutes.
708  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We have launched world’s first Bitcoin Debit card, fits your all needs of life on: June 18, 2019, 06:50:21 PM
Do you forget to mention your website? No one would order goods/services through email these days.

Our Bitcoin Debit Card will not be restricted to any country.

IMO it sounds too good to be true

In the introduction, we have mentioned we are Crypto Exchange Ltd, registered in UK, sorry to introduce the website page, because our parent business is to buy the Crypto Currencies from local market and sellers. You can found us at http://www.bitcoinscashout.com. Our Bitcoin Debit Card website which is not the same, and it is just accessible for the users who owned our Debit Cards and basically it is user based login website, where our Debit Card users can get status of their card transactions, open a temporary session for e-commerce, change the security 4 PIN Code or make transfers to their own fiat currency accounts or to others.

For the orders, you may contact following business development authorities. They will get your orders, place your orders and also will accept feedbacks, queries, supports and complaints if any.

Are you for real? Your talking about money and security of debit card but for Christ sake, you can't even secure your website? This is a false flag for me, sorry but I'm not buying into this. Next thing we know, your website is hacked and everyone lost it's money because you don't know who to properly secure it. Sorry to burst the bubble for you.
Lol. This website really seals the deal. -- http://www.bitcoinscashout.com No HTTPS, poor fonts, poor image quality, poor formatting, poor everything.

If you can't even get a half-assed website for your cryptocard V1.000, how do you actually expect anyone to hold any funds on said card without being scared of it getting hacked/"lost"..

Whatever deal you have with visa, or think you have, i can't think of anything other than it being established under false premises, and that visa will shut it down whenever you get any traction with your project.

709  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We have launched world’s first Bitcoin Debit card, fits your all needs of life on: June 16, 2019, 06:33:35 PM
Our Bitcoin Debit Card is obviously not free. Its onetime cost is US Dollars 153, and delivery through courier services charges are excluded from the fees, because courier charges vary to receiving countries. While we made transactions truly free because when we are purchasing bitcoins from you, and make you a payout, we will have the bitcoins from you, so we will generate business from that bitcoin purchasing and selling later.
That's a nice sunk cost for us if your card turns out to be worthless.

Surely it doesn't take 153$ to create one, right? Why the price?

Also, you don't mention KYC anywhere, am i right in assuming that's not required? That would make your card kind of interesting (and sketchy!), otherwise, why wouldn't i use a card from coinbase, which is probably cheapier, more widely accepted, and a hell of a lot trustworthier?
710  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: John McAfee launches the McAfee Magic trading platform on: June 16, 2019, 03:30:32 PM
He didn't even need to hire a developer, he could have bought a site that looks a thousand times better. Having made an account to test it out, the trading interface is similarly ugly and clunky, all the elements just thrown together in any old way. The design isn't just bad, it's awful. But honestly, I would completely overlook the bad design if the product underneath it was worthwhile, but it isn't. I wouldn't even be using this site if it was free - it certainly is not worth $1,000 a year.
Honestly, with a design and font that is this ugly -- i think most people wouldn't even care how good the product behind it is/was.

The only thing i can see this being useful for is for "shady" individuals, who don't want to pass KYC on any of the 8 exchanges, and use "Magic macafee" to get around that?
Although i kind of doubt that is possible, or a good longterm business model. (I assume they'll get their accounts disabled rather quickly?. but if not, for what would this exchange realistically be used?

I don't get it. Arbitraging? Really?
711  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I need someone who has a paypal account.(good money partnership) on: June 15, 2019, 01:38:47 PM
I have paypal account that has ZERO BALANCE. You can start working with me 😂 you can even just pay me $20 for every successful transaction for using my account 😁
Be careful, this could be a chargeback scam where they split the btc in the end and get all their money back. I would pass
Or he's using your paypal account to cash out hacked paypal accounts, for only a 10% rate.

There's so many sketchy things OP could be doing that this is definitely not worth the risk.

OP, if you're serious about wanting to accept Paypal, why don't you use a payment processor? You supply your ID, docs, and they'll create a gateway for your customers to accept PP. That is, if you're actually legit.
712  Other / Meta / Re: Its not fair that yobit got banned on: June 14, 2019, 10:42:57 AM
There ban is up in 8 days. I want to know what is to stop them from getting banned again.

If the spam is the same then I'm sure they'll get another ban with a longer duration.

I am sure the spam will be the same, but if you do not give them 48 hours to ban the spammers from participating in the campaign how is that even fair?

I bet they bann people and the people don't even realize they are banned and still contirune to post
Not really though. They didn’t communicate at all as far as i’m aware, and only ran a signature campaign to promote their IEO token spam.

They said they didn’t accept people with red trust, but somehow, they were still able to join, and atleast given the impression that they were getting paid for their posts (Although im pretty certain they were actually getting paid. See mdayonliners post history where he put up some screenshots of him getting paid (IIRC).)

Yobit added balance to their yobit account just like they did to non-redtrusted users.

How long have your issues with Poloniex (with your 10 XMR) lasted? Recent months (after Circle-take-over), their supports have been fast
I received a response in 8 hours yesterday.
I think it is acceptable with support tickets. I am not sure about average time of responses of all Poloniex support tickets but I guess the pace has been faster and more acceptable after Circle steps in.

KYC on Poloniex, if I remembered correctly, announced officially and Poloniex users were given weeks to finish their KYCs back in early of 2018. Additionally, it mainly implemented by Poloniex because US government requirements, not solely from Poloniex team. The positive thing with their new KYC verification procedure, after that is all users (including new registered users) don't have to wait for weeks or months to increase their level of daily withdrawal limits to $25,000.
We are at a stalemate with them holding my coins as I refuse to do KYC because they will not allow me to do it without agreeing to their "terms and conditions" (which have me agreeing to waive my rights to hold them liable) which I will not do, so my coins are in limbo unless and until I sue them. I tried governmental legal channels to no avail. Goldmann Ballsacks is not going to allow some district attorney to go after one of their subsidiaries. And for such a small amount its not really worth the effort to pursue currently.
Poloniex users were also given the affirmation that after the grace period, you could still withdraw funds. Just not trade.
Poloniex users were also given the affirmation that the grace period would be x amount of time, right until it suddenly was y amount of time (0).

The positive thing about implementing KYC was that every minor, anyone from a 3rd world country no longer had access to their funds, potentially forever.
714  Other / Meta / Re: Trust flags on: June 14, 2019, 06:05:48 AM
The negative trust by these two seems pretty shady to me. I don't think there was any credible evidence of polo scamming in 2017.
Polo was way behind on their support tickets at the time. They also had taken down their trollbox at the same time. I can see where people were getting leery that another exit scam was looming. Polo has since changed ownership, anyway. So the tags should probably be revised. Unfortunately, Zepher can't revise his.  Embarrassed
Oh yea, I definitely agree, being behind on support tickets is proof beyond a reasonable doubt, no proof beyond any doubt, that the exchange is scamming its users.
Roll Eyes
I know for a fact that Poloniex lied to customers about KYC verification, but i’m not sure when exactly that happend anymore.

Read: https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/8mizvf/dear_poloniex_you_specifically_said_you_wont_hold/
They cant be held to their word and due to that i find them extremely untrustworthy. Imo they deserve to be tagged for this alone.

Also more recently all the people margin trading lost 16% of their margin funds due to sudden liquidations of a single low-cap shitcoin.

Quick maths shows this is nearly impossible and likely some sort of scam

My trust rating is +0 / =0 / -2,How it works with -2 on right side without sign of "Warning:Trade with extreme caution!"?.We can allow to participate on campaign with this?

Is this only for accounts that received negative feedback before, or do you also not get a "Trade With Caution" tag anymore if you receive negative feedback after the update?

Isn't this going to unleash a legion of previously red-trusted bounty farmers/signature campaigners/etc, or am i missing something? The current way of "red-trusting" someone doesn't nearly look as intrusive anymore. I wonder if bounty managers will change their rules due to that.
716  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mixing Bitcoin twice in series in case your mixer is a bad actor or mixes poorly on: June 09, 2019, 02:40:47 PM
snip

Wouldn't it better to send bitcoins through out  the chain of  say five-six exchanges (where you have anonymous accounts) , return them back   into wallet and then we're there? Each exchange would act as a kind of  mixer in this case.
Could you name 5-6 anonymous exchanges? The only one i can think of is binance (which does chain analysis, so you'll need to find some more exchanges to effectively mix your coins), and yobit, which i find particularily untrustworthy.

Another problem is that most of these exchanges usually ask for .5 or 1% withdrawal fee. multiple that by 5x, or 6x, and you'll be paying massive amounts of fee for what might be just very little improvements in privacy.

Will exchange #1  send  to exch #2 the same bitcoins that were received from me? I don't think so, IMO, they will differ from mine,  every next exchange belonging to my chain will continue in that, or am I wrong on that?

Agree, that  could impose extra costs compared with the mixers.
Well, they probably won't exchange/send the same bitcoin back to you, but that doesn't mean that they don't know the origin of the funds. Especially exchanges such Bitstamp, coinbase, and kraken all use third party chain analysis products, and probably share/won't hesitate to share that info with authorities/other exchanges.

Which means that, yes, the chain might look broken, but these exchanges can and will still keep track of the coins, especially if it's significant amounts not used for trading and send through regulated exchanges as mentioned above, and share that info to LE/other exchanges, which in turn will probably result to the funds being linked.

Hence why i don't think this is such a smart idea, apart from it costing a lot of $$$, and exchanges who probably won't be too happy about it.

718  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Blender, anonymous bitcoin mixer on: June 07, 2019, 05:39:30 PM
If I were operating bitblender and knew LE was coming soon, I'd wipe the servers erasing everything including the BTC private keys. Of course LE has been sending coins through bitblender so they know the addresses where all the incoming deposits were aggregated. So if they catch you with those keys, they can prove you are the operator. Or if they catch you with the secret Tor uses to identify bitblendervrfkzr. So I expect the operator no longer knows those secrets, and hence can't bring bitblendervrfkzr back up and can't send your coins anywhere. If so, the coins have been destroyed.
It makes no sense to destroy private keys at all. If the funds were kept in a LE-"unsecure environment" he could, as you suggested, move all the coins to a new adress he generated somewhere safely/offline, then destroy/remove the server in which the "unsecure" keys and adresses were stored, and still keep the funds.

Then he could either mix those funds using coinjoin, wasabi, monero, chipmixer, or simply wait until a provably-fair "privacy"-provider mixer comes into the market.

And if it's implemented maybe you can add this one as well rel="noopener noreferrer" on the anchor element for security purposes, I know you know it already, just to add up.
Wouldn't a referrer be useful for companies tracking where their traffic is coming from? I'm sure they'd been keen to know that advertising on Btalk actually garners results. Or is that not what you're removing by using the "noreferrer" tags?

I guess they could just use url.com/utm_campaign_x in their url, although i don't think all of them do so.
720  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Blender, anonymous bitcoin mixer on: June 04, 2019, 08:28:48 PM
the concept of chipmixer has the flaw you have to trust an private key which is known by the mixer. "not your your keys - not your bitcoins" or in this case "private keys that are known to an other party are worthless because you have to trust the other party"

and the flaw will not become less a flaw if the mixer is paying one of the highest in a signature campaign. (by the way I doubt you will stop promoting it if something happened with chipmixer. we had the case in the past)
It surely didn't stop you from promoting Bitblender so what are you trying to say here?
