1661  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I find new members to award with merits on: April 23, 2018, 07:04:40 PM
It's no good looking on the beginner's or discussion boards. They are all about bounty and air drops and social networking stuff. I'd like to award members that are interested in Bitcoin and reputable crypto currencies, but I've almost given up trying to find them.

I've found discussions in the technical boards to be quite interesting, and surely of a better quality than most boards.. Maybe take a look there?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0

But, you're right. finding "NEW" members in these boards is still quite hard.
1662  Other / Meta / Re: Scams.Thiefs.Bilker.Hackers on: April 21, 2018, 04:58:09 PM
Hi friends. In this topic, I suggest you share with examples of attempts being hacked, deceived and so on...
A few days ago A pretty lady (photo)  wrote me to telegram. She (he) said, that saw me in chat and want me to help her to understand the manual that she (he) bought for 300$.  I asked her a site, where she (he) bought it, and of course, I didn't get an answer.
She (he) quickly gave me a DOC size 2MB.....I think the virus is compiled in it...
That is our talk:http://prntscr.com/j89q73
Translate of her talk:
I'm looking for a man who understands at least a bit of crypto. I'm a newbie in this business. I bought a manual for 300 dollars, but I can not understand anything, with terminology. These words are not understandable for me: dumps, pyramids, angles, you can help, You can use this manual for yourself.
Be safe with your money..

Tell your story's)

Looks like there's 1 of these 2 things happening here.

He is either catfishing you and trying to get you to download that document which probably includes some sort of keylogger/rat (Since these can indeed exist in/ even when a file is distinguished as a .DOC) to  probably "steal" your coins.

You mentioned that the document was about pyramids?  (schemes)? ( Which means you already opened the docu?? Huh), he might also be trying to lure you into some kind of ponzi scheme, but there are easier ways to do so...  Seems a bit far-fetched..
1663  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HD Wallet and Privacy on: April 21, 2018, 11:58:46 AM
If I use a hierarchical deterministic (HD) wallet, like Electrum, I get a huge number of addresses.

Obviously each address has to correspond to a public key, and also each public key has to correspond to a private key.

I understand that there is a well ordered sequence of private keys and similar well ordered sequence of public keys. The child key in this sequence is derived from the previous, parent key.

They all lead back to just one original public key and just one original private key.

Now the question:

Say I pick up a random address from the pool of addresses that my wallet has generated. I use it to pay something.

Say I choose another address and use it to pay for something else.

Is there a direct way to correlate these two addresses?
Is there a way to tell that they are from the same wallet?
Is there an indirect way to do the same?
What's the best practice as far as privacy is concerned when using your HD Wallet generated addresses?
Is it enough to pick a new address every time?

Thank you in advance!

If there is no connection between the two adresses (no linked inputs) then no, it shouldn't be possible to connect the two to each other.

If however, for example the change of adress A goes to adress B, it could indeed prove a correlation. ( Which is unlikely since change -> change adress. )( Or if the change from A and B both go to change adress C.)

Quote
Is there a way to tell that they are from the same wallet?

Without any shared inputs or outputs, i don't think so.

See https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/7447/is-it-possible-to-figure-out-whether-two-addresses-are-in-the-same-wallet?noredirect=1&lq=1

Make sure that you don't combine inputs, and use a new change adress for every transaction that you make from another "Receive" adress.

What do you mean by all? The adresses?

From my understanding; they don't "lead" back, but are rather just generated from one keypair. I don't think it is a two way function, so there's no way to get the MPK with just a child private key.
1664  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk slow or just me? on: April 21, 2018, 11:18:24 AM
Bumping this since i'm getting a lot of time out errors today.

Even http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/bitcointalk.org.html is stating that it went down multiple times today.

Browsing bitcointalk right now is giving me headaches. Anything that can be done about this?
1665  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Earn Tokens, Crowdsourcing safety powered by the Ethereum blockchain on: April 20, 2018, 07:56:19 PM
This sounds like an idea that seems fun and good on paper, but is never going to work.

Let me get this straight:  Your app basically allows people to report "potentially dangerous situations", and in return they get a fee if there is indeed something prevented or do they just in general get a reward?

I'll just go to a concert/even make 200 pictures of people's backpacks, and the festival managers are going to check all 200 of them?

Your idea seems extremely far-fetched, don't you think? What am i missing?

1666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: please help on: April 19, 2018, 12:21:19 PM
few year ago I register in some exchange wallet, but i forgot address , does anyone knows where username starts with N for example N105512
sorry if its not in right tred
Thanks

It'll be very difficult to help you there. If you don't remember the email address, then you can't do much about it.
A username that starts with an N ... like .. Nakamoto ?
Is that you ?
I dont't understand if what OP is looking really for,  is it an exchange? ,or a username? Anyway, try to visit your old email messages you might find there some notifications or verification links before, or if you lose also your email, maybe you have number incorporated with that email to backup it. If none, just learn from this and be responsible the next time.

It seems to me that he is looking for an exchange where everyone was assigned a unique ID starting with N....

Anyways, maybe they were stolen? take a look here to see if you recognize the wallet name:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_bitcoin#Theft_and_exchange_shutdowns

If that doesn't pan out, maybe look through here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bitcoin_companies, to see if you maybe recognize the company name behind your wallet?
1667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Staking ETH Address on: April 17, 2018, 01:37:56 PM
the main point of staking an address is that when you wanted to prove something and sign a message that message has to be easily verifiable by anyone. you can safely say that every user on this forum uses bitcoin but you can't say they also use ethereum.
so long as you can stake your bitcoin address there is no need for a duplicate topic staking another altcoin's addresses. and it won't stop at ETH, you want ETH someone else wants LTC, another person another altcoin and so on. there will be no end to it.
I understand the main point of staking ETH Address, yes it is for proving that you own that wallet as well as this Bitcointalk account, I'm just afraid of losing this, that I have no proof that this is mine. I think BTC and ETH address is the only accepted address here to use for signing a message. And sorry, I didn't mean to have a duplicate post, I just want to know if there is a post regarding ETH signing message. Anyways thank you for the reply.

Have you even read his reply? He just states that there isn't a ETH adress stake thread since this is a bitcoin forum. If you give in to that you'll soon need to give in to every shitcoin.

To recover your account? No, only signed messages from a bitcoin adress you staked are allowed. However i could see exceptions being made to that rule, but to say that it's widely accepted by mods/admins here is wrong. I wouldn't take my chances.

For more information about recovering your account, check out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 where the administrator explicitely states that proving ownership through a signed message with a staked 'BITCOIN' adress is the preferred way.

1668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Daneel.io is good to invest? on: April 17, 2018, 08:49:14 AM
Is the one of new project daneel.io so it is good to invest for my money?

This? https://daneel.io/
They really seem like a joke from my understanding.

If i read this correctly, they are releasing an app which gives

-- Market infos and rates -- < This is already widely available for free.

-- Cryptocurrency news -- < again, anyone can google news about cryptocurrencies.

-- Upcoming / Trending ICOs -- < https://www.icoalert.com

-- New indicators (confidence score, emotions, and more) -- This might be interesting, but without knowing their method of calculation it is essentially worthless for me. Who's saying they're just not making up most of the data etc.. ?

1670  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Arbitrage Coins some experience? on: April 14, 2018, 12:09:07 PM
Hi
I just find this site arbitragecoins.com and looks nice, but do anybody have some experience with this site?
Is it true or scam?
Thanks

Looks like a ponzi scheme disguised as an "arbitrage bot" which probably gives consecutive returns (which is impossible if this was actually legit), so i really wouldn't invest in it.

Site is written in poor english and with weird spelling, besides that, if they have such a good bot, why would they need your money?

Also, "Risk free trading", really? Do you really think such a thing exists? I would stay really far away from this.

1671  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinpayments HELL on: April 14, 2018, 10:53:01 AM
Hello,

Does anybody has any idea how to contact coinpayments.net by e-mail or other means? We are using coinpayments as a payment gateway, but their support system doesn't really exist. I have tried to contact them on several occasions, but there is always some bot closing my tickets automatically. I tried looking everywhere for their e-mail, or any other means of contact, but they are simply well hidden. I found a member of their team - MrData on the forum, but cannot message him/her either, as he/she does not accept messages from newbies on the forum.

It's a complete nightmare to try and get support from coinpayments.net
I'm opening this thread in the hopes that somebody from coinpayments will contact me back!

You could try their twitter, although it is really doubtful that you will get a response there, since they explicitely state that you'll need to go here, https://www.coinpayments.net/supwiz

What exactly do you need support for that isn't listed there?

Have you tried opening a ticket through there?

1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Storing 5 years in a wallet? on: April 13, 2018, 06:18:53 PM
Hello,

I bought some bitcoin on Coinbase. Can I send them now to the desktop wallet of bitcoin.org, and leave it there for 5 years or longer, without caring about it in this timeframe? Or is it neccessary to update the wallet from time to time? What happens when Litghting-Network or a fork is coming, do we have to update something?

No, under normal circumstances there shouldn't be any problem storing them for whatever timeframe you have in mind.

Even if bitcoin forks/if there's a critical update ( something like segwit), there will always backwards compatibility/ opt-in ( like segwit, you don't necessarily have to use it).

In the case of a fork you might indeed need to download another wallet to access the funds/coin you received from the fork, ( See bitcoin cash wallets etc), but there shouldn't be any problems with the bitcoin wallet.

Unless there is a critical vulnerability found in ( the then older versions of ) bitcoin core ( See what happend to electrum), then it of course might be smart to update it before sending / receiving any bitcoin with it.

In rare circumstances i could see that certain payscripts which bitcoin core currently uses will be invalid in the future/not accepted by most nodes, but then again just update your wallet and you should be able to make a transaction with your bitcoins just fine.
1673  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [SELL] Cryptocurrencies listing website - Earn 10K$/month by working 4h/week on: April 13, 2018, 06:11:20 PM
Hello everyone,

I'm selling my cryptocurrencies-listing website. I worked a lot on it and I managed to pay my student's loan thanks to it.
Now I'm going to work full time on another project so I don't have time anymore for that project.

What do I offer?
- All the files/dependencies of my website
- Domain transfer
- Databases access
- A complete explanation of how my business is running
- Social Media access

My website is only 5 months old but has already good traffic, real and remaining customers.
I manage to make between 8-13k $ / month with advertising on it (not AdSense but sponsored advertising by cryptocurrencies companies )

PRICE: 2 BTC

Please contact me by mail for more details: suchloukoum@gmail.com.

Scammers , save some times and pass your way , won't fall for your tricks and will proceed to a secure transfer.

Why in heaven would you give up a project that is making you 15k a month with just ads ( which means it is semi-pilot/auto-pilot money?) Your argument that you're "moving on" to other projects and have no time for it anymore seems pretty weak especially since you just stated that maintenancing the site only takes 4 hours a week..?

Do you have any records/proof of the sponsorships of these cryptocurrency companies? I might be interested but i doubt that this is legit. Anyways, if you do, please PM me and we might be able to figure something out.
1674  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question about the advertising network on: April 13, 2018, 02:14:46 PM
There is a list of adverting networks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1108616.0
Just make sure to add the last posts where people are requesting to add their networks as the OP is not updated.
Which is pretty outdated.

If you're looking for a CPM network, i can highly recommend to use something like https://cointraffic.io/, which offers 0.05$ per 1000 impressions, and counts both unique and non-unique impressions i believe?

Your question is kind of phrased in a weird way that i'm not too sure if you want to advertise or publish, but this site does both. Do note that as a publisher you'll need to have a lot of traffic before you will get accepted.

Also might be worth to check out coinad, coinzilla, and bitmedia, although i'm not too sure how they are doing nowadays.

i did a withdrawal last couple of weeks ago from coinpot but it did not go to my wallet account,is there anyone in the admin can help me about this problem.thanks in advance

I assume coinpot is some kind of online wallet?
I doubt that you'll get much response from them here, as this board is primarily meant for the discussion of the technicalities of bitcoin, not really services/companies.

Move it to something like Service Discussion.

Also, by "not going into your wallet account", what exactly do you mean? That it ( the transaction) never reached it's destination ( unconfirmed), or that your balance simply doesn't update?
1677  Economy / Services / Looking for developer on: April 11, 2018, 01:41:52 PM
I'm looking for a developer who has a good knowledge of configuring orderbooks for exchanges ( chaining them with Mysql databases, configuring down / up %% etc), aswell as displaying them correctly on (preferably) something like AMCharts.

I already have most of the code/infrastructure in place, the only thing that you'll need to do is configure it correctly.

If you think you can do this, please PM me, and we can figure a price etc. I can put money in escrow if that's something you'd want.
1678  Other / Meta / Re: change email and username on: April 10, 2018, 03:28:55 PM
hello,
i would like change my profile name and email, is that available? if not should i start new account?

It is possible to change your email, simply go to your profile ->  Account related settings.

Changing your name won't be possible unless you donate 10 BTC ( i believe ), or have a very good reason for theymos to do so.
Since you're currently a Jr member, it would probably be better to start a new account instead of going through that hassle ( or pay 10 BTC), as it most likely isn't worth it.
1679  Economy / Services / Re: Buy bitcointalk account on: April 10, 2018, 02:17:17 PM
Hi i need to buy a jr. member or over account , i need to do a post about my new website with images but i can't.
I can pay an account or i can pay for post my site Smiley

Buy the copper rank which is exactly made for this purpose. Here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Some more information about all your advantages: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104

The primary function is adding images, but i believe waiting time between posts is also reduced etc.
1680  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I use proxy/vpn to browse this forum? on: April 10, 2018, 02:02:27 PM
So guys, what if I register my account in a common internet connection, then 5 weeks later I switched to VPN connection, is it a pass or a possible banned?

It really doesn't matter when you are logging in with another IP adress/VPN, but rather when/with what kind of IP ( banned(?)) you sign up.

I've been using this forum with a work-related VPN for some time now without any issues. You should be just fine.
