There are similar scams in France, people don't understand very well Bitcoin but they know it is a thing. Thus scam compagnies benefit from the ignorance of the people, especially seniors who have funds to invest.
Yeah, I confirm this. My brother received last month a phone from a "supposed" company, asking him if he is interested to "invest" in Bitcoin with their fancy arguments to tell you how Bitcoin is so profitable bla bla bla He didn't even know what is Bitcoin until I told him after. It's the type of phone calls trying to scam people using data mining, you know, like when they call senior people to sell them solar panels at a price 10 times higher lol

With a Linux version of Electrum and Multibit you shouldn't have a problem. As for Exodus and the others ones, no idea. But if you can test with a VM maybe? In general, Linux distributions should be significantly more secure than Windows. Most blackhat hackers regard Windows as more valuable to exploit and hence many exploits are found there regularly. It doesn't mean Windows isn't secure though. Windows is still secure to a decent extent if you take the proper security precautions (ie. Not running unknown programs, suspicious pages, etc). Together with its usability, it would be better than Linux to me, it depends on your preference however.
If you are using a cracked version of Windows, please use Linux. Cracked version of Windows isn't secure at all.
The percentage of Linux users is too low for it to be worth trying to trap users, but it is starting to change, even if GNU Linux is secure, it's more about the behavior/activity of users.

I see. Indeed you may be right, but it's been patented by himself, and there's a large time period between 2008 and today (by the way, I found this discussion while searching DSA (Digital Signature Standard) and the Schnorr Patents) The only things I understand about it, are: it's more efficient than ECDSA, helps for scalability, spam attacks and improve the user's privacy. Anything else I am in "reading mode" xD

It doesn't make sense to me to depreciate the hardware, it's not like a car. And depreciate based on what, the year the hardware has been manufactured, the average use of it? If you need to report the time used then it's a no end, that's why I say it's senseless

Translations of Altcoins/ICO can't be considered as "serious posts that haven't receive enough merits". This, are posts you're paid for, and not so hard to translate content from others. There are a lot of Legendary members that could do the job, not because they are Legendary, but because they are active in the forum since years daily. I am talking about members like Meuh, Zenfr and so on....

I was reading an article saying that the Schnorr signatures are considered as "the best of the best" among cryptographers. If so, why this authentication protocol has never managed to become popular? Given that it has existed since the years '80-'90

Thanks @richardsNY I removed some things as I don't want to turn it in "here my opinion". I prefer rather to just list Bitcoin mixers and let people having their own. I will add some stuff like How, When, Why use mixers and why not some tutorials/reviews.

Are you the only one? Because if yes, the problem comes from your side for sure. Otherwise, we would see a lot of people posting about this already. And a lot of articles published on the news. And in my opinion, you can't say a site is a scam if it has a security issue (if it's really the case). People like to wrongly overuse the word "scam"

Anyone expecting a Bitconnect style launch event with music videos and screaming Mexicans is going to be disappointed. There won't be a formal launch. It's on the mainnet right now with many a caveat issued.
I expect it'll continue creeping out there until one day you'll find yourself using it. Its eventual ubiquity will be gradual. It looks like KYC stuff may be impossible to keep tabs on so I'm not sure it'll ever be used by legit exchanges or uptight services.
If that is the case then many a user may have no use for it.
Yeah, it will take time to really see it and it won't happen in the next week or month for sure... But 1 question: why will the KYC push exchanges/services to not use it? If it happens people will still be able to use it. I mean f*ck the exchanges

You're in the Bitcoin discussion section not in the Meta section. As a Legendary member, you should already know the meta section is where it should be. You should move this thread there.

@Kraken-Septimus
Some time ago the company published an article on the blog to say about Revolut/TransferWise transfers that can't be used with Kraken. However, there are folks who are using Revolut without a problem. What is the situation currently? Is the article still up to date?
Thank you

There are people who will continue to use their card (because they don't have any other way or because they don't care to pay an extra 3%) and some others who will merely find another method to buy, and there are plenty.
In any case, this situation is not worse than Discover, the company decided to completely block the Discover Cards for all transactions with the Cryptocurrencies merchants.

Yes a temporary ban is temporary and a permanent ban is permanent

Only administrators can see his IP address unless the data is compromised yes. However, there are some "tricks" if someone wants your IP, but if you are targeted and someone really wants your IP, you just need to not make yourself a target...
If you are really concerned with your IP, buy a VPS, make your own VPN. You need maybe 30 minutes and can find some cheap deal on LowEndBox for $15 per year

I never really tried to understand this currency and it's confusing. Each USDT created is backed by fiat currency assets, right? What is called the Quarantined USDT? Quarantined for what reason, quarantined means "separate and restrict the movement" to me
And if Tether prints $100 mln daily backed by nothing, it means insolvency, and so a collapse. With $100 million a day, we should already be seeing it happen.
