721  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin all time high, is it ETF effects or pre halving cycle on: March 14, 2024, 11:47:19 PM
Today bitcoin started the week reaching at $65,000 a near former all time high price, and this new stabilized bitcoin 65k price indices make alot of presumptions and many bitcoin price speculators are in bullish mode to state an obviously possible reality that bitcoin may break the former all time high price (ATH) of $69,000+ previous record before the bitcoin halving cycle to occure.

Although if bitcoin make a new all time high before the next bitcoin halving, it makes it the second time in bitcoin history and chart 📉📈 where bitcoin attain all time high prior few days to the next halving.

The question now is, are we going to see that happening very soon and what is you expected benchmark before the next halving cycle.

So we hit an alltime high.

I believe in ETF a “different” ˝ ing it is more like a 35-42% drop not 49-51% drop.

Lastly no covid which helps supply chain allowing many miners and good supply chain.

723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indirect victims of gambling addiction on: March 14, 2024, 10:39:11 PM

Of course, there are many indirect victims of gambling addiction. Can you add more?

Typically only family and friends are the typical affected party of gambling addict since that’s the peer they usually interact. You already covered the most typical indirect victims of gambling addiction.

I have one time a schoolmate that is addicted on computer games gambling(betting on his game). He typically borrows money from me for his bet that he usually forget to pay voluntarily. Our friendship ended when he didn’t pay me when I ask the money and he has the audacity to het angry with me. His gambling addiction destroyed our friendship in school. I believe this is common now since there’s already online gambling but back then this kind of addiction is very rare.

Gamblers steal a lot from their jobs their friends their family and complete strangers when they can get away with it. Or think they can get away from it.
724  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Hello, my friend has 200 solar panels, do they generate enough energy for mining on: March 14, 2024, 10:33:14 PM

Lets say your solar plant's location has a 0.2 capacity factor.  That means it will make about 20% of its max rated power capacity throughout the year.  From this, we can easily calculate that its power factor is 4.8, which we can use to estimate roughly how much power it will produce daily on average.

Ok, thanks for the info.

And where does the 4.8 comes from?

If your solar plant produces only 20% of its max rated power capacity throughout the year, it basically boils down to 24h*0.2=4.8 (your power factor), in order to calculate a rough estimate of the average daily production.

So, your 1 kW solar panels will produce about 4.8 kW per day on average.

which basically in the 4 to 6 range I mentioned earlier

1kwatt panel does 4kw to 6kw a day
400watt panel does 1.6kw to 2.4kwatt a day.

the s19s range at 66 to 80 kwatts a day around thirty to 42 400 watt panels

and I am talking grid tied with a fair 1 to 1 deal from power company
the s21s range at 86 to 90kwatts a day around forty to fifty 400 watt panels
725  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources send merit based on their feelings or quality of the post? on: March 14, 2024, 08:34:04 PM
<big snip>

What do you guys think? Is it unfair to award merits in threads I have started?

As long as you reward in some other threads it is not an issue.

If you are exclusive to just your thread it is a bit unfair.

Off-topic, but happy Steak and Blowjob day, Mar 14!

I was looking to buy a pie for today.
Then on Saint Pats Day some corn beef and cabbage with scones and butter.
Then on Saint Josephs Day some pastry.

Now steak and blow job day sounds good.

but I think I will do surf and turf on Friday the 15. That will be muff job blowjob skirt steak whipped cream and strawberries.

So I have the 14th the 15 th the 17th and the 19th booked up.

Also sat I get to watch my dementia ridden bro in law as I have to do some electrical work at his house.

Shit coins are equivalent to gambling and gambling is for losers. One can invest few bucks in shitcoins for fun but real focus and most of your capital should be going to Bitcoin alone. 1 bitcoin is difficult.

Investing in bitcoin is also gambling.

YOUR RIGHT!

Only your the HOUSE.

If you are the house the odds are in your favor.

If you are gambling the odds are against you.

If I had a merit, it would be you'ares.   Wink

try braiins. and use something like anydesk you can do around 250 miners that way.

you need a pc or laptop hooked into the router that the 200+ miners are using.

or you could go to the awesome miner thread

Alright. Back on top again.

That's 7 days of top prices.

What a week.

Remember in 2017 when we skipped $13k, so then there was a question whether we would ever revisit $13k (which we did), so now we have skipped $70k , and we were very close to skipping $72k.. but we ended up falling in $72k.. so maybe there is a question regarding whether we will ever fill in a number for $70k or not.

don't mean to jinx the question, but there is going to be some day in which we will end up skipping over several thousand and never revisiting that price area again.. and I think that we are getting into prime territory to be able to skip over several thousand of price slots.

Yet, none of us can really know how it is going to play out.. even if we have some ideas (and theories).

I am hoping to see 80k very soon.
734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 13, 2024, 08:50:00 PM
Btw these rallies are they more exciting for last cycle newcomers
Or for the more OG multiple cycle hodlers?

For example I see some cheering from people buying 20-30-40-50k coins but the feeling for true OG’s is little more life changing somehow?
Also been through some aweful bears, still being here, believing, knowing what we have in hand and ultimately being strongly rewarded etc
Look for any og that holds serious coin this is huge.

A 2012 guy can easily have 100 coins

I agree that a guy with 100 coins may well be set for life.. just like he was in late 2022... even though the BTC price was ONLY around $20k at that time (sometimes less and sometimes more)

SO

2021 6.90 million

2022 1.59 million at this point in time many people would struggle about the decision to have held

Yep.. Exactly.. you were struggling to consider what to do with your coin at that time and even suggesting that the guy with 100 coins should have sold.. and bought Ibonds, but that would have been dumb, even though the guy probably could have continued to make monthly withdrawals of his coins at a rate of 10% per year starting from October 1, 2022 and still would have plenty of coins today.. (and have right around 86.4 BTC right now).  Look at this calculation, and pay attention to the 200-WMA rather than the spot price.

2024 7.30 million at this point those that have held may shave off some of the 100 coins they held just in case we crash and burn. But maybe 5%

those are serious swings and I am pretty sure more than one person here on the wo has coin like that.

Myself due to a lack of belief from 2012 to 2017 I do not have coin like that.

This is nice uptick for me. It is not life changing.

You are saying that you got your belief into bitcoin in 2018?  so I can continue to harass you and say that if you had merely invested $200 per week into bitcoin starting from mid 2018, then you would have invested around $60.4k and gotten 4.8314 BTC.  That wouldn't be bad.[/b]

I never said I don't have 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 btc.

I said I don't have 100 btc

Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase and a known Bitcoin skeptic, remains unconvinced of the asset’s merits.

Speaking at the Australian Financial Review business summit in Sydney via video link, Dimon expressed his reservations about the asset amidst broader discussions on topics ranging from upcoming elections to federal economic policies.

During the call, Dimon criticized Bitcoin, particularly focusing on its volatility and the potential for its use in illegal activities, including money laundering and fraud.

He suggested that the rapid increase in Bitcoin's value might indicate a speculative bubble, cautioning investors about the risks involved.

Despite his criticisms, Dimon stated that he would defend the right of individuals to purchase Bitcoin, likening it to personal choices such as smoking cigarettes.

"I defend your right to smoke a cigarette, [and] I’ll defend your right to buy a Bitcoin."  Said by Dimon......

~You see no matter how they want to criticise bitcoin thesame mouth will still defend I will only say that Dimon is totally confused right here ~

Bitcoin still remains the king and aways become the kings of all coins

GrayScale selling hopefully slowing down.
Only 560 BTC transferred today.

The sooner they run out of Bitcoin, the better. What an awful business model, surely they drastically lower their fee soon or within a couple of months they have no Bitcoin and no business.

Just over a month until the halving now.

New Poll?

What will the price be at the time of the halving?

Btw these rallies are they more exciting for last cycle newcomers
Or for the more OG multiple cycle hodlers?

For example I see some cheering from people buying 20-30-40-50k coins but the feeling for true OG’s is little more life changing somehow?
Also been through some aweful bears, still being here, believing, knowing what we have in hand and ultimately being strongly rewarded etc

Look for any og that holds serious coin this is huge.

A 2012 guy can easily have 100 coins

SO

2021 6.90 million

2022 1.59 million at this point in time many people would struggle about the decision to have held

It is not life changing.

a huge 5.6% move.

or was last variance wrong. and is this variance wrong.

-3 last time should be -1

that make this 5.6 like 3.6 and tack on over variance of 1 or 2.

so we really added 1 or 2% to the network.

Could be.  As of today at 72k. which will hurt miners in 30 days. the ˝ ing is about 34 days.

edit
almost there close to +6%
