1241  Economy / Services / Re: Help accelerate this transaction on: December 29, 2023, 05:42:46 AM
You can do that using https://www.viabtc.com
The size of the tx is 1,240 bytes, and ViaBTC only accelerates tx with a size of 500 bytes or less. However, even if the tx was within the requirements of ViaBTC, you cannot use their free accelerator at the moment, except you are using a bot. For sometime now only bots are using ViaBTC free accelerator because they take up the 100 tx's per hour so fast that an ordinary human cannot beat them to it.

I beat the bots around 1 in every six or seven tries.

you have to click after the 59 min and 59 second but before the 00:00

you have a small shot but it can happen.
1242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vitalik Buterin sets date for Ethereum’s Merge on: December 29, 2023, 04:18:10 AM
My advice is much simpler than that:

SELL ALL YOUR GPU NOW!!

Hehe ehhe he

My gpus are whaling. Once again they came back strong. I made 3x my nov earnings in the month of dec.

I can even mine in my home and turn a tiny profit along with mining at the mine.
1243  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin faces risk of protocol-level censorship as miners under increasing regul on: December 29, 2023, 03:56:03 AM
This cannot be controlled using the POW algorithm.
It doesn't really have anything to do with the algorithm. It has to do with OFAC and sanctions.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC") of the US Department of the Treasury administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.

Quote
Not all mining pools comply with US requirements, and for a good commission, prohibited transactions will be included in new blocks. In Russia, miners will not obey US requirements, so Russian miners will receive more profit.

https://ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-programs-and-country-information/russia-related-sanctions

So you open a pool in El Salvador.  they say fuck you BTC is our currency we accept all transactions..

A usa mine would be banned from that pool.

Or would they mine to a proxy via tor. And let all coins sit in a virgin wallet address.

If anything smaller miners will be nimble and the big mines could suffer.

or Donald mother-fucking Trump gets in and the gov goes in another direction.
1244  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2023 Diff thread now opened. on: December 29, 2023, 01:32:31 AM
~~

@philipma1957 I have to apologize. Honestly, I didn't understand these accounts very well.  Lips sealed Huh

What you propose is to check the average number of blocks that each pool found? And then understand if there is a difference between some days and other days? And that?

Isn't it easier to evaluate the hash that each pool has applied?  Undecided

not with foundry they do not show their hash gui as far as I know.

but you can find the blocks they make.

when we dropped all the blocks off the pace they were off the pace.

does it mean they did a down clock no.

it means they may have downclocked.

and when they make 15 blocks in a time period that they should have made 23  it slows the whole net work.

which in turn clogs the pool.

but proof that it is on purpose to pad their fees is very very very hard to do.
1245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any miner want to confirm my transaction? on: December 28, 2023, 10:27:16 PM
Checking right now this transaction does not support RBF so your best choice is to use a paid accelerator since the amount is so small I don't think it is a good idea, waiting for the traffic to ease up is your best option, the longest I have waited was 5 days that's 3 weeks ago.

it qualifies for the free one that's about the only shot it has. it is tiny.

sooner or later I may click at the exact split second and push it on viabtc.com

https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator

I do not mind tying on and off I will try again at 6pm est
1246  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2023 Diff thread now opened. on: December 28, 2023, 06:54:34 PM
huge shutdown of gear or massive downclock.

Really, something incredible, right after an increase of +6%, there is a "drop" of 7%.
Is there any way to analyze which pool could have caused such a situation?

in block space xxx 179 to xxx232 53 blocks were made

the time was 15:54 to 05:05  that is 13 hours and 10 minutes

that was time enough for 69 blocks only 53 down 16 blocks

foundry made 15 blocks

antpool made 17 blocks

if pace was kept foundry would have been 23 of 69 so they were 8 blocks short

antpool would have Been around 17 of 69 they were normal.

so the shortage of 16 blocks the  8 by foundry were due to bad luck or variance or down clocking.

kano is good with math he can tell you the odds of pure bad luck if foundry should be 8  blocks more  in that 13 hour time span. it is a big shortage 53 not 69 for the network and 15 not 23 for foundry

edit all wrong sure look at foundry pool's blocks

 https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/blocks

you can look at every block made this jump  and see if they backed off like I suspect they do.

go back about 750 blocks

and every 150 see if they did 50 or more or less.

the further away from 50 up or down is more likely they are under and overclocking to fuck with fees.

ie if 150 block and they did 48-52 just variance.  but if they did under 40 or over 60  up-down clocking is more likely.

they made 62 of last 174 which is a bit over not under.

next one to check would be antpool

1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any miner want to confirm my transaction? on: December 28, 2023, 06:46:41 PM
Thanks for all your support.hope the traffic will slow then i can get confirmation or any cool guy will accelerate it .let's hope

I have tried the free one on viabtc 2 or 3 times.  You get 1 try an hour and you are competing against many others.  It is tough to time the request.

Too slow or too late and you get nothing.

missed it at 2:00 pm EST

At Loyce please let me know if quoting your advert thread is okay.
I'm flattered, but I don't like it. If you quote my text, you should keep every bit of it inside quote tags. Now you have my text with and without quote tags.
This part for instance would fit my Report plagiarism thread:
Copy:
I only advertise services that I like. I reserve the right to reject offers I don't like. If the service I'm advertising turns into a scam, I reserve the right to stop advertising it without returning payment.
Original:
I only advertise services that I like. I reserve the right to reject offers I don't like. If the service I'm advertising turns into a scam, I reserve the right to stop advertising it without returning payment.

If you're selling something, at least create your own advertising text.

I honestly don't think you need to take the LoyceV introduction. In the end, most of the information is imprecise because it is out of date in his case as well
I was like a forum baby back then, with only 30% of my current post total Tongue

3) I am looking to erase the quote of loyce’s post but I want him to see I based enough of my thread on his that I want to not be accused of copying so that is why the quote is there.
The best way to avoid being accused of copying, is not copying Wink

It is why I asked permission thanks for reply. I will correct this today after breakfast.

@ loyce I modified my add. please discuss the bolded quote with me.

I think I am good to go with this one.

Edit decided to not rent signature. I am giving talkimage.com a free add.

Sure why not?

Oh USA law is so fucked up complex , layered and contradictory it is amazing.

And theymos lives in USA (maybe) the forum is USA based (true) and like it or not he simply does not want the hassle for the forum from the Gov.

So asking theymos to do mixers would likely mean asking him to relocate to a far more liberal tax country. Just to run the forum. That may not be realistic at all for him.

At least USA law has the everlasting first amendment, and now that BitMixList (dot org) is back online, I expect it to be a useful resource for bitcointalkers beyond January 1st.

Yeah I can say fuck you Trump or fuck you Biden. I don’t fear for my life by saying that.

Many countries you can’t say fuck you about the king or boss .
1251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mempool Observer Topic on: December 28, 2023, 12:50:35 AM
foundry is a black box pool.

you can not view its hash rate you need 20ph to join it.

20 ph is about 200 s19's  or 150 s19 xp's or 100 s21's

so your entry fee to just belong to them is over 400K easy

$2000 x 200 = 400k in s19k's plus a space to mine them .

plus infrastructure about 750kwatt transformer fans to cool

if you have 5 cent power they cost 22000 a month to run.

And while that lets you be in that pool (the biggest) I have no idea what you see of their website.

they could fund this attack as they earn 48 blocks a day.
1252  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 279 blocks solved! on: December 27, 2023, 11:51:23 PM
Not sure what to think of how difficult it is to mine a block now, it seems a lot harder than say 2022, when btc total hashrate was about half of what it is today.
the total hashrate of the network has nothing in common with your mining luck. You are not competing with other miners. However I wish you best of luck  Cool

well that is true for about 2015 blocks in a row. then the average hash rate that made those 2015 blocks and the next block 1 mean something as that will set the next difficulty number making the next 2015 blocks either harder or easier to hit.

Ie a constant hashrate for the entire network would tend to keep the difficulty very flat up or down 2 %

but less miners and less hash rate would drop the difficulty a lot and make blocks easier.

I am 6ph/480,000ph so I have 1/80,000 of all the miners in the world.

if the worlds ph goes upwards and onwards the diff goes upwards and onwards and I may have

6ph/540,000ph or 1/90,000 of the worlds hash  and it is harder to hit a block once the higher hash is shown on the next difficulty.

so 80,000/144= a 555.55 to 1 shot if I mine solo for a day

but

90,000/144 = a 625 to 1 shot if the diff went up and I mine solo for a day.

1254  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 27, 2023, 11:18:28 PM
If I mine monero at a daily profit I am not money laundering.
Nor do I when using mixers.

If I mine monero at a loss and hodl it speculatively I could likely do it for 3 years before I have a tax issue and not money laundering but I would be forced to say it is a hobby.
I'm not in the USA, and I don't know how taxation works there. I suppose you report profit when selling coins? You make it sound as if the taxman will do blockchain analysis to tell whether your coins originate from illegal activity.

If I put coins in to a mixer in order to not be money laundering I need proof of full kyc
Unless you are not registered to a centralized exchange which imposes this policy. In my place, I use decentralized exchange when buying and selling. Again, I don't know how things work in the USA. Judging by the numerous malicious legislation presented by the FinCEN like this one, it wouldn't surprise me if exchanging decentrally can be considered money laundering.

1255  Economy / Economics / Re: Ditching US dollar on: December 27, 2023, 11:10:26 PM
Iran and Russia both are big source of oil, supplying oil to many countries. Both countries are economically strong and have a very good relationship. Russia is also part of BRICS while Iran will join in the Jan 2024.

Now news come out that both countries are trying to ditch US dollar for which they have now planned to trade in local currencies. what do you think this movement will help both countries? will It has any bad impact on US dollar?

You have to understand the US is possibly playing rope a dope.

Biden is the old fool moron. turns off all the oil. so Russia and Iran pounce.

Sucker move by US as Biden loses next election and

Donald "mother fucking or should I say daughter fucking" Trump comes in opens up the oil and crushes the Ruble and the brics.

We never can really understand the mind games these assholes play we kind of try to survive them as best we can.
1256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to high rates? Maybe not, but it's an idea... on: December 27, 2023, 10:57:25 PM
All ideas that have been given and suggested are redundant and there is no effort from the developers to coil the situation though I will not know if they are trying their best behind the scene. And all what we need right now is the solution and not any suggestions and ideas. The developers know what to do stop this maladies because they are in control of the system. And this high transaction fee is really affecting everyone both the investors and traders and all the people that use Bitcoin for transactions.

And as I said before, Bitcoins are stuck in wallets because this. Though it might help some to save their coins.

that's because you want btc to be big and small at the same time.

it is not about work arounds like I listed above.  In your case it is about wanting the impossible.

Ay least it can not be done with code. This is an infrastructure or second layer problem.

Every wallet for btc needs an easy to fill LN wallet. That is not going to be fixed with code.

Why do you think dev have not done anything. They will wait to see the effect of 3.125 coin rewards and 3 coin fees before anything happens.  SO the fix you think code can do will not be attempted until June or July. of 2024

So high fees until then are certain.

1257  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 27, 2023, 10:50:04 PM

It certainly seems like Bitcoin was a bit of a gift for our planet in that it does seem to act as a store of value over time opposite to fiat currency.
Yeah but poor as a means of payment as of late.
Hopefully this scalability issue will be worked on in coming years
Can't even make any small transaction with transaction fee this high.
Bought some units of satoshi during this minor pullback(around 41400)
But have been unable to transfer to my wallet due to the trx fee.
I don't trust my holding in Binance since i can easily convert my BTC to my local currency to squander
Thus cheating on hodling.
Sigh ordinals are getting too comfortable in our land.

Not sure if we will ever scale perfectly.

Think of 2 hammers

so why insist on using the sledge hammer for values under 100 bucks.

if you want to the ways are :

KYC at an exchange that will allow you to use LN
 Put cash in there.
 Buy BTC
 USE that exchanges LN wallet.

I did a thread that does show it works.

Obviously only do a little of you wealth as this is the workaround for small wealth movements.

1259  Economy / Services / Philipma1957 will be renting out avatar and signature. On Jan 1 2024 on: December 27, 2023, 10:02:06 PM
I will be available on Jan 1 2024. I would take BTC LTC or DOGE
I am renting my avatar, my signature and my text under my avatar.
All three for you.
With a two month minimum rental.

I usually post more than 80 posts a week closer to 400 posts a month.

Payment can be fixed in Bitcoin,LTC,Doge or dollars, but has to be in crypto.

I prefer to be paid upfront, but I'm flexible if I know you and trust you.

"I will be the person that decides to let you rent the 3 spaces or reject offers I don't like.

If the service I rented to is banned or turns into a scam,

I would  stop advertising it and possibly would not refund the advertisers payment."

I am the most well known name on bitcointalk sometimes the second most as theymos and I bounce up and down.
I have made over 44,000 posts.
I have 6063 + 1000 airdrop merits puts me in top 25
I have given  8251 merits also in the top 40
I am the most recognized.
I am very much trusted

Check screen shot. I am up there on every list.

Frankly I would like two month or more  deals as it is less work to advertise again and again.
As I said I had a 6 month prepaid deal that was ended due to mixers ending.
Since mixers are done and my signature and all spaces will be open for rent in 2024.

1260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see individual satoshi becoming valuable? on: December 27, 2023, 09:46:28 PM

When we talk about one satoshi getting valuable...in my mind it must be $1 for each satoshi...and by that time we can say that indeed a satoshi can be worth something though by those years there are not a lot of things you can buy with $1. Anyway, the point is that as BTC continues to rise in terms of dollar price equivalent, so does a satoshi. On what year, will this happen that remains to seen and lucky are the people who are still alive for that big milestone.

If BTC becomes $1 usd per 1 sat that means it is 100 million a coin.

I simply do not see that in the next 12 years or even 24 years.

2024-2028 ATH pretend it goes to 430k that is 10x today maybe this is possible

2028-2032 ATH pretend it goes to 2 mill that is 45x today not so sure this will happen.
