Okay went to the link trying to understand what this bar is made of. what does it weigh.
From what I read it is 2oz of .999 silver.
but there are more than one bar and some are made differently.
so can I get a confirmation that this is supposed to be 2 oz troy .999 silver.
if it is the 2 oz troy silver .999 bar
I will bid 0.0015 btc.

Presently, should we say it's good the way bitcoin its been tied to dollars? Dollars is not backed up with any resources but to my understanding, bitcoin is a product of great energy surge. We shouldn't let bitcoin tied to dollars but bitcoin standing on its own. What could decide the durability and value of bitcoin? I have some ideas..
So btc stands on its own means to me how many kwatts makes a Btc. So at 20 watt a th a machine makes 0.00000203 btc per th daily so if you value btc at watts. 0.00000203 btc = 20 watts 0.00002030 btc = 200 watts 0.00020300 btc = 2000 watts 0.00203000 btc = 20000 watts 0.02030000 btc = 200000 watts or 200kwatts 0.20300000 btc = 2,000,000 watts or 2 megawatts Final number I rounded 1.0 btc = 10,000,000 watts or 10 megawatts to make a btc thats an energy measurement for btc today which will change over time.

LOL True. I guess im trying to wrap my head around the idea of "New Math"
I guess if you read enough math text books, maybe you could see a new pattern emerge?
If that's the case, big IF, then Bitcoin will need a hard fork soon. I wonder if any of the DEV are working on this already?
If it really invented a superior math that easily and rapidly solves 192 crypto it is likely the entire world is fucked. All computer stored info would be viewable. Your new setups would all need to be fully decoupled to be safe.

And now the idea: why don't just use Ledger (only!) as seed generator?
I'd rather just use /dev/urandom and convert the format as needed. Your Ledger probably is more useful if you use it either as decoy or store altcoin if you can't find better software wallet for that altcoin. Is it anything I've missed?
Ledger isn't open source. And with various controversy, don't trust them or their product too much. decoy is a great idea. put a few dollars worth of coins in it and you are good to go.

yeah the farm runs solidly. enough air in along with some ac in works. our setup has about 500,000 btu of heat. the two ac’s do 72,000 btu of cooling. and tons of fans exhale the heat. bringing in cool air is okay. but exhaling heat is important. how many miners do you have?

nice looking too. they are a great commercial. I didn't know Australia was that fucked up. Considering Australia began modern-day life as a penal colony for wayward Irish folks (mostly thieves) they're not doing too badly; it could have gone Mad Max yeah i spent two weeks there back in 1980 Sydney was very nice. Despite all odds that are said about Australia, its true that they have grown up nicely. Except the fact that Decembers are hot and June is Cold there. yeah but if you live in New Jersey you can go there Nov 1 and stay til April 1 thus never having to deal with the cold and dark of winter. It was dark by 5pm last night (NJ) which sucks.

But we know for a fact that it is exceedingly difficult to get any useful power out of nuclear fusion.
not exactly. hydrogen bombs were invented a long time ago and they use fusion. if you're talking about controlled fusion then yeah it's been a long and arduous road they've been working on it for decades. you have to admire that type of dedication from scientists all over the world. and i think they'll get there eventually but what i don't think is that it will make peoples' electric bills go down. they'll still charge them the same which pretty much negates the benefits of fusion power for consumers. no one is going to just give away free energy or even close. they're going to corner the market and charge as much as they possibly can. kind of like nuclear power plants do... but feel free to correct me if i'm wrong that it won't lower peoples' power bills. did solar power do that? probably not! Not sure of the usefulness of hydrogen bombs. I guess they could be good / useful against an asteroid .

Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I still hold the investment or sell it?
|
on: November 25, 2023, 11:58:32 PM

When the price of Bitcoin reached $38K I thought I would sell my investment but I didn't sell my investment yet hoping for something better. Thinking whether to sell the investment or not I thought I should share the matter in the forum and I will get the best solution from the forum that's why I am sharing the matter in the forum whether I should hold on to my investment or sell it now. I don't need the money anyway, if I sell my investment now I have to deposit this money in the bank again.
In this case, investing in Bitcoin is basically feasible for both the short term and long term. Some people choose to keep holding their Bitcoin until their price target is reached or until the next few years, or until at least the bullish era next year. However, some people also do this as a short term investment by taking profits when they have reached a certain profit target, then buying again and holding for a short period of time and taking profits again, and so on. but what is certain is that Bitcoin is a very valuable investment, which will most likely experience a significant price spike in the next bullish era. So, if you don't really need money and you don't really understand short terms or trading, it would be better if you continue holding, at least until the bullish era after the Bitcoin halving. There is no 100% guarantee, but usually this will increase significantly. be patient and don't panic about anything that makes you afraid or worried. He turned 100 into 150. If he sells the 100 and keeps 50 in btc he can not lose. He needs to stop overthinking this. It almost no money at all and he said he does not need the money he invested. I see very shaky hands in him.

Apologies to be blunt, but I believe the answer falls something along the lines of: "None of your business".
When it's your money, you can wonder about what to do with it. If it's not yours, then what the owner is or isn't doing with it is of no concern to you.
I disagree as anyone owning BTC has a vested interest in those coins. One) they could be consider abandoned and confiscated. Two) If we wake up tomorrow and 1,000,00 are liquidated over night btc would crash like mad. Three) everyone needs to realize the power those 1,000,000 plus coins 50 in 20,000 blocks or so wield over btc in general.

@frank1y I never said fees will average 1btc after April 2024 1/2 ing
I did say many blocks will be over 1btc.
I also asked is someone has a link for the exact fee average.
This is not about fees for miners. this is not about rewards for miners.
this is about the decreasing reward to fee ratio that happens each 1/2ing
Down the road the 1/2 ing effect will end as it will no longer be reducing supply like it does now.

Every single investor has a target, so you need to have a plan for your investment. If you are comfortable with what you have earned so far, you can sell and make a little profit. But if you think you can bear the risk of keeping it's still a good choice because there are possibilities that the price of Bitcoin might appreciate. Keeping the money in a bank is not an option for me because of the high inflation in my country. Assuming this is a legit truth from you. You need to sell all of it and never invest in any crypto of any kind.
My reasoning is simple if $100 turning into $150 makes you this anxious you do not have the ability to invest in anything that is volatile.
Leave the market and don't look at it any more it is not for you.
BTW this goes for stocks or metals. You simply are lacking the mindset to invest correctly.
I think the reason for his anxiety is because of the worth of that $100 to him. Some persons have to work for months to save such amount. The advice that one should invest what he can be able to bear in case of loss is important. Maybe he might be less apprehensive if he earns more and $100 become less valuable to him. this if true means he broke the single biggest rule there is. He invested more than he can afford to lose. Now if it is true. that he over spent and could not afford to lose 100. He should sell 100 and leave the rest. Because he would be losing 0 of what he began with. The fact he has to ask these questions means he is on very shaky mental grounds as an investor.
