1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / So I have been looking around my house and putting together rigs some questions. on: December 11, 2023, 09:24:45 PM
I have 2 sapphire nitro cards 6800xt and I have them on a simple mining rig.

I forgot settings to clock them. I run simple miner os.

Any one have some good settings I can try.

Better yet is team red the best miner for and kawpow.

tia

they are poorly clocked and doing 26+26= 52 mhs

and 200+200 watts
1462  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The coin mixer advertised here stole my coins on: December 11, 2023, 07:55:02 PM
Mixers have minimum amount of coins that they can mix. If you do not send up to that minimum amount for mixing, it would be considered as donation.

The minimum deposit can be 0.002 BTC.

Let us know the amount of the coin that you sent for mixing, and the name of the mixer.

Fair! But the question and point is...WHY WAS THIS NOT CLEARLY STATED BEFOREHAND?! it's not a given like beef is to burgers.

Have a look at my comment above to Cantsay. It was $7.

2016  years ago when coin was worth 1 k

or 2021 when coin was worth 69 k

saying it was 7 at the time is not a big help
1463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 11, 2023, 05:44:04 PM
An additional $3000 - $5000 bonus dump on top of the recent red candle would be appropriate.

9k up candle would be more appropriate .
1464  Other / Meta / Re: Question about mixer signature. on: December 11, 2023, 05:42:15 PM

A lot of Legendaries have their thread in the service section. Also, I have seen a similar signature space where members were looking for advertisers! If you want to promote casinos, I guess most of the campaign managers will be interested in hiring you.

Bounty managers will be interested in hiring him because of his status I seldom see philipma1957 posting in the gambling section if he is interested then philipma1957 should start posting there if he wants to be in a casino campaign, The casino campaign has a minimum requirement posts in the gambling section or he can strike a deal based on his preference if the casino will agree, he can strike a deal with other campaigns like exchange or platforms that haven't run a campaign to test the signature campaign effectiveness here in Bitcointalk.

Well I see casinos and I see mixers.

mixers are out.

So I will look into casinos. But are there other adverts ?
1465  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The coin mixer advertised here stole my coins on: December 11, 2023, 05:26:58 PM
Does the mixer you used not have a name? Moved your post to scam accusation board and make a good thread there because right now your post is good as nothing, no name, no proof that you actually sent a coin to the mixer, no proof that your coin actually met the minimum amount that can be mixed…

If you want good response and possibly solution to your issue then do the needful by editing and adding the necessary information.

This is the proper format you’re supposed to use.

I don't remember it's name. It might have had "monkey" in its name. It's not the one being advertised now (or maybe it still is but it is not appearing to me). I'm sure there aren't hundreds of mixers that advertised here so if you or anyone can list the ones that advertised here, I am certain seeing the name again would ring a bell. This was last year. The amount they took was $7 worth at the time. I remember in was going make a post at the time but in was procrastinating because of the effort I had to put in into making a through post (because in was really pissed at the time and I wanted to make a really good post) but obviously I never got to it. I emailed them about it but they didn't get back to me.

Right now I was looking into using a mixer again and while posting my last post I realized there is another mixer being advertised here. I was going to make a post titled "Are mixers %100 effective?"...my footnote of this post...but then my previous experience came back to me so the title and post changed.

I'm also certain I am not the only one this happened to so I guess the purpose of this post is just to put it out there and see what others experiences were, if they manages to get their money back, how, what happened to that site...etc.

if you sent them 7 dollars worth of BTC what was BTC worth when you sent it.

and you should have complained the week you sent it.

Consider that lost money due to your own inability to properly follow up.

most mixers have a TOS.
Did you read the TOS?
Did you screen shot it?
Do you have proof of the send?

none of the above means you set yourself up.

Here is a screenshot of a mixer's page. look at minimum number you need to send 0.001 btc that is around 42 dollars as I post.

If you do not have this info from any mixer do not use it.
$7 is a cheap learning lesson for you.
To know what you are doing.

1) Have the name of the company
2) The link to it.
3) The TOS screen shot
4) screen shot of your send
5) tx of your send

so if you have none of that we can't help you much at all.

$7 spent to learn to document what you are doing.

1467  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin pumping when the economy is heading into a recession? on: December 11, 2023, 03:13:44 AM
Forgive my ignorance, I am very new to this space. I saw talks about CBDCs and that drew my attention back to cryptocurrencies. I thought the last bull run would be the last we would have seen of bitcoin ever reaching those heights so I stopped looking at the crypto space ever since. But now we have discussions about dethroning the dollar and CBDCs, I am changing my mind about that, but I still find it fascinating that bitcoin is pumping in this economy right now. I am no means an expert in economics as you can clearly tell, would appreciate if anyone who had the knowledge could shed some light here. Always keen to learn. Thanks

One post and by by.

Sad that people do this

I can think of a few reasons why the op went by by..

What is even better is btc has gone up ⬆️ up 🆙 and away .

well at least to 43k.

Simplest answer is this a miner rally much like the one in fall of 2015.

1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THEIR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. on: December 11, 2023, 03:01:31 AM
I did nothing wrong. But I have surrendered my legal privacy to 49 btc.

I should be able to not surrender privacy in this case.

years ago i split my hoard up into different pots of funds for that exact reason
short term play/trade/exit money
mid term hoarding to play the occassional market price wave
long term just hoard

dont blame the CEX that you decided to keep all coin on one UTXO/address

never said that I have a pile of coins worth millions.

But if you look at the first three or four million blocks many are not touched.

So quite a few may not be in the shape you are in.

The case for privacy for those early untouched blocks is real. But we all know they stay frozen.
1470  Other / Meta / Re: Question about mixer signature. on: December 11, 2023, 02:56:27 AM
I figured it was not allowed.

it is why I asked.

The contract I had with the tumbler was prepaid for multiple months.

So I am obligated to leave it up til Dec 31.

It is why I asked here before doing it.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins dead? on: December 10, 2023, 11:44:33 PM
I can say that altcoins cannot be used as investment assets for the long term. Many altcoins have died one after another. It will be safer if you choose BTC as your investment target. Some altcoins can last quite a long time, but remember LTC or Waves which are currently not experiencing significant price changes?

LTC and Doge are whaling if you mine them with an L7

They have been the most profitable coin to mine from Jan 2021 to Dec 2023. A three year time span.

1473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY PEOPLE ARE NOT TAKING THEIR PRIVACY SERIOUSLY. on: December 10, 2023, 11:37:00 PM
This is definitely not about one person's privacy but the importance of many. If you think about it, many people get scammed and their money has been transferred to a wallet and will be mixed or any of that "shady" "hide" stuff that you are talking about. To prevent that and have a hope to return it, it should be transparent and can be seen on the blockchain, which is the "decentralized" part of cryptocurrency. It's not just about "not hiding" but to be transparent is to let others know that you have nothing to hide.

This is not for selfish reasons, but for the many, I think.
Totally, that's should be the point of all of this stuff, there's a reason why bitcoin's got a public ledger so why hide something when a lot of people can benefit from not hiding and as you've said already, scammers are taking advantage of these features that many crypto offers, there's not a lot of people that I know that are happy or hyped up about the privacy that crypto wallets or mixers offers and I do agree with that statement, if you have nothing to hide then why be scared? No one can tamper a transaction that's already been done already and I think that if mixers and wallets that hide transactions cooperate with stuff involving money laundering and criminal activities, they might be able to keep their businesses but at the core of it all, it breaks the principle of privacy so a lot of people are still divided about this to this day. Sometimes the good of the many is what matters and in the case of this one, the people that will benefit from transparency is larger than those that won't benefit.

It is easy to say why hide a balance. But if you have 25 legit btc in your wallet worth about  1.1 million and you want to cash out a coin why must you reveal the other 24.

I am USA based I have been doing btc a long time.

If I mined a block in 2012 and I am sitting on the entire block of 50 coins cost basis of $500 USD. At ten a coin. Reported mining earnings of 500 in 2012. I am 100% legit tax compliant.

Now I pull a coin from the wallet send it to coinbase and let it sit.  I still owe no tax. but coinbase gets to see my other 49 coins.

Now a month later I cash the coin and get 45k I owe cap gains and pay it.

I did nothing wrong. But I have surrendered my legal privacy to 49 btc.

I should be able to not surrender privacy in this case.

reality is this very likely not the biggest reason to hide your balances. but it is fully legit in the usa.
1474  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 10, 2023, 08:32:26 PM
Reading about your concerns if the government goes after you and then your subsequent comment about requiring the services of a lawyer and you made references to the negative tags. For those of us that do not know about this, can you explain more about the warning posters and taggers?

Can you post a link or elaborate because I (and I am sure others who are unaware of this) would like to understand what happened because you seem to have very real concerns.

And cost me 90 minutes to about 2 hours time before I pulled my signature.  Which means If the government goes after me.

I will need to get a lawyer to defend myself. Which in turn means I have to go after those that posted the negative trusts. Any of us attacked be the government because we were too slow will need.

All info from the forum about the 'warning' poster  and the taggers of it.  In order to defend ourselves for being too slow to remove the signatures.

Did you bother to look up people with the signatures still intact and let them know you had no real evidence to tag no you did not.

So you no favors to anyone that had an active signature.

Your first duty would be to them just in case it was real. You put your self in line for legal action by a quite a few people that were slow to remove the signature. Even though I am the only one talking about it now. I know of at least five others that were close to a day to pull the signatures.

Hopefully it is all over nothing and the government is done with us.

it is within this very long thread.

there were around 50 people collecting for the sinbad.io signature.

a new poster claiming to be a law enforcement agency. posted that all of our signatures needed to removed.

and that sinbad.io was seized.

they said that anyone leaving the signature up could be prosecuted.

I found the post about 20 hours after it was posted.

it was redtagged I wasted about 90 minutes to 2 hours trying to understand. whom to believe.

i decided that I would pull the signature. at say hour 23 ½ after the warning.

with out the tag I would have done it at hour 22.

So I doubt the law enforcement agencies will come for me and the others that were a bit slow, but they could have and they may.

which would put everyone of us that the red tags slowed in a position to go after:

the three redtaggers
royse77
theymos and the fourom

for not giving us proper warnings.

I am US based. I know the fed laws here are nuts and for the next ten years they could bother me for this.

Before any dt redtagged they should have went to royse77’s list and pm ed us to reqd the LE statement.

Instead they choose to redtag it.  Simply not responsible as they did not know it was fake and to this moment they do not have any proof it was fake.

I and everyone on that list of signature payments was not helped if that LE was legit.

I am not going to bother with much here as I simply hope I will be left alone be LE as I did comply just under 1 day to the warning which in my case was the best I can do.

Btw this precedent may end all signatures down the road as any one of us doing a campaign could be in trouble if some LE goes after us.

And the possible backlash to the forum is simple they kept allowing a “bad” signature.

Since any LE can make a statement saying they busted a website and consider an add to be illegal
theymos will need a way to bump a signature after a cease and desist is placed here.

So red tagging Supposed LE posts is very very dangerous thing to do.
should be a neutral and state you do not know if the LE is real

which is a safer way to go.

1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sending your BTC what to pay. on: December 10, 2023, 05:29:16 PM
I did not mean that we are going in the direction of analyzing the possibilities that Bitcoin has at this moment when it comes to processing transactions in conditions where by some miracle everyone would start using it for payment. I am referring to those who currently use Bitcoin and constantly repeat that the fees are expensive, and at the same time it is not expensive for them to spend a significant amount of money on things that can be put in the category of "non-necessary for life".
I think we're going to have to disagree here. If I have €10, and I can choose between investing it in Bitcoin (or anything on the stock market), or buying a bottle of booze, I may choose to invest it. But if I have €10, and my choice is between spending it on transaction fees or buying booze, I'm going to buy the booze.

If Bitcoin cannot be an alternative to the existing financial system, does it mean that the idea that Satoshi had completely failed?
I'd say it means there's work to be done to improve this.

the carrying power for txs could be 13x if a btc/scrypt transfer method was made seamless not my exact idea artemis3 mentioned it in another thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5475844.msg63301950#msg63301950

if all btc sends under 0.0001 were shunted to scrypt to move them then shunted back to btc.

on wallet to wallet basis .  and all wallets had this mechanism you easily increase the carrying power of txs.

frank1y nice try to get a dialog.

to all in what every place you live.

put your yearly income down one number one line
put your yearly spending down one total number but many lines.

I am usa  all yearly below

yearly income  is.     100 x

yearly total expenses  90 x
extra money.              10x

house tax        10 x
power                7x
gas heat cooking 2x
car.                    7x
insurance.         12x
food.                 15x
water.                  1x

on my list i could work on

food

it is obviously the same method for all of us.

the difference is x value .
1477  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Eligius pool is back under the new name Ocean on: December 10, 2023, 05:00:12 PM
BTW

no one has solved

scrypt 12 blocks  LTC+Doge
sha 256 1 block   BTC

basically it is unsolvable.

best thin BTC can do for now is ban all BTC sends under 0.0001 for 1 having and see if that works.

It should act to flood scrypt with smaller sends and allow LN to be correctly setup in BTC as a subset of core wallet

Or segwit seamlessly between Bitcoin and Litecoin and essentially use Litecoin as a sidechain instead of LN? Opening channels in LN is its Achilles heel, not only you have to fight against the spam you are also arbitrarily limited to the amount you put upfront, and/or surrender your privacy and trusting others.

Clearly we had a different Bitcoin before and after this year spam in the blockchain. A little string of text in the blockchain or 4mb images? I think there is a huge difference. This tweet (and the bus vs train meme a bit below) portraits it well. It may be technically a transaction, but is it bitcoin? it isn't.

Remember the difference between Bitcoin (project, network) and bitcoin (electronic p2p cash).

And no, i don't buy the fallacy that the spam is needed to "secure" the network, its not the spam that makes mining profitable, but the actual bitcoin price, remember this. The success (adoption) of bitcoin (as currency) is what would naturally drive the tx prices up, but when you allow saboteurs to make this less and less viable...

Nice idea.

see right in front of us we have scrypt.

and scrypt can do 12x the volume that sha 256 can do

I have an accounting back ground and I have worked with pcs and main frames from 1975.

I see this as a value and economic problem.

Details of how  are for programmers and developers.

But to fight the scrypt structure rather than adapt is  dumb.

Lukes pool is not the way to do it.

I am a nobody in mining.

6/450,000 is my share of sha 256:hashrate.

but I see what is being done and unless a better scaling method is placed in btc is in trouble.

if we blend  in scypt we increase from 1x to 13x every ten minutes.

if we make btc sends under 0.0001 route via scrypt  automatically large fees drop.

we could  make the cutoff float if btc fees get too low.

seems to me the two algos need to create a shunting move.

and I would think the fallout to miners would be buy more scrypt gear.

time will tell 2024 and 2028 ½ ings should be different.

think about a 1.5625 block in 2028 getting 3 btc in fees.

that would be a 6.25 block in 2023 getting 18.75 in fees

I think right now big miners can do the 2028 case with ease.

thus they plan to do it.

this is new territory plain and simple.

kawpow is on nicehash direct to btc.

i believe in three coins

btc
ltc/doge

I mine and hold all three of them.

if you read my posts i posit that btc can not compete with doge/ltc for small value moves

so I hold all three.

but  I have 6 or 7 L7 miners vs 56 S17 s19 s19xp

Do you think it’s worth it to start mining LTC today?
For a small mining scale, was it viable?

sent a pm

last ten blocks fees are :

1.39 btc

so simple economics show fees are way more important to miners

I hope I beat my late uncles record as the longest living male in my family. I need to make it to 94.

I would be able to see if Btc hangs in there and solves scaling for smaller sends or if scrypt becomes the main way to do smaller sends.

Another fun fact :

Christianity also revolitionized the Music and made the world more bearable and fun.

Happy Holidays Beautiful Christians !

Well, then i'm probably missing the fun?!
As an ex-member of the Christian Church, but as a man who is acting on Christian values, more than less, i can only say that the Christian Church is not acting very Christian, probably almost never did.
I believe Jesus Christ would turn in his grave if he knew how things turned out regarding "Christianity".

I wonder if Jesus Christ, if still alive, would be a Bitcoiner...

I bet you are mising out on a lot.
I bet you werent very Christian either.. It is not about the Church either dumbo..

I believe the same for Muslims how it all turned out.

Cant cure human nature eh dumbo?!?

Imagine thinking Jesus of all People would need or Have Bljatcoijns.. Listen to yourself 😆
Spoiler alert.. He would snap it out of existence.

oh dumbo dumbo.. whats gonna come from you huh 😆

Turn the other cheek?
Love thy neighbor?
He who is without sin cast the first stone?

Guess those only apply when it's convenient huh?

For what it's worth, my experience with people of faith (mainly Christians, bus some from other religions), has been pretty negative, on average. I find many of them to be among the most aggressive, intolerant, arrogant, stubborn, closed-minded, bitter, toxic individuals I've ever met. For me, the fact that someone is deeply religious is a pretty accurate predictor of one or more of the above traits. There are exceptions, of course, but the norm seems to be like that.

It's sad, really... I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

I should not get into to this at all, but

The great Italian director Federico Fellini has a stoning of a woman scene.  It is a perfect work around for

"He who is without sin cast the first stone?"   {credited to Jesus}

In the Roman Catholic religion you are born with original sin it need to be washed away by baptism.

So you get baptized and are sinless.
Next rule you are too young and stupid til you are 7 years old so you are incapable of sin.

So in Fellini's movie the town wants to stone a woman to death.

They give a rock to a 5 year old boy and he already knows to cast the stone .

So the town followed Jesus's rule "He who is without sin cast the first stone?"

10 or twenty people stone the woman.

Seems bad enough , but what is worse is the boy know his job and just did it.

Clever work around of a nice idea from Jesus.

The point is people can and have been really cruel to one another. Even figuring out work arounds to be cruel.

I will only comment on Roman Catholics as it was what I was born into.

I do have some personal experiences with other religious people that were terrible , but won't mention the  religion.

I think it is more a factor that all people have issues.

So if you spend time with them you will see religious people use a belief in a god to be an ass.
