1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the full eleven-year anniversary of the initial block reward halving. on: November 29, 2023, 07:52:48 AM
I hit 3 blocks at 50 coins while pool mining at bitminter.

I also was able to mine 1/1000 of the entire network on and off for a few days.

You needed 22gh when the network was 22th

I burned 11kwatts to miner 1/1000 of the entire network. at that time/

I also need a cold day around 0c and to have my garage door open .

Today 11 megawatts is well  1/1000 of the network

you need 450ph for 1/1000 of the network about about 3200 s19 xp's  that would be 10240 kwatts or 10.240 megawatts

1000 x the power.

1000 garages  with 3 or 4 s19s=xp's

1663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Stuck in mempool @ 17.9 for 2 weeks on: November 28, 2023, 12:31:47 PM
But when I have been using Electrum wallet, it will not take more than 3 weeks before I will see the coin back on my wallet and I will spend it again.
How long it will take a transaction to be dropped when using Electrum depends entirely on the Electrum servers you are connect to. Some will run with the default of two weeks, some will run with higher limits, and some will run with virtually no limit at all. If you are still seeing your unconfirmed transaction on Electrum after several months, you can try swapping to different servers to see if you can find one which has already dropped it.

Alternatively just make a full RBF replacement.
The best alternative to me is to never make a transaction that does not have RBF. If my transaction has RBF, all I will do after frustration of stuck transaction is to just increase the fee. I will prefer this than full RBF that I will be looking for a node that is supporting it to rebroadcast my transaction because all nodes are supporting the old and still existing RBF. But if a transaction is not supporting RBF, the person that make the transaction will have no other option than to go for your suggestion.

which is why I use trezor it allows rbf

with good management you can greatly reduce fees.

and I am not a "coin racist" so I do keep LTC and Doge on hand as they are the superior coins for smaller sends.

sorry for the confusion,

I have installed it already and it's been 2 months.

Recently, today I realised that no indicator is flashing and the machine is stuck at full fan speed when started and does not even provide IP address.

so did you simply use an sd card or did you foolishly flash the controller.

If you flashed the controller it will be harder to fix.

If you did an sd card just remove the sd card.
1667  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 27, 2023, 08:36:34 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if we get another leg up to 41k-44k before having a major correction.

Yeah but we enter in the last month when so many people start to close thei portfolios and start to make the accounts, and look if they where on  profit or losing money, so they are gonna take some profit and close the year. So for me we can see a mayor correction right now to 30/31 k.

I see someone looking for coins at a cheaper price.

We are not going to correct until we get quite a bit higher than 36-38k
1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will transaction fees affect Bitcoin in the future? on: November 27, 2023, 08:24:15 PM
Many people like me adjusted during the 2017 cycle pretty much when we had crazy fees. I just don't do any micro transactions anymore. I moved onto ETH but then the same thing happened on ETH and then I just started to use L2.

When I make a large purpose than paying a $2 fee on Bitcoin blockchain is not that bad. The issue is when you make daily transactions like that which can add up quick. Basically for daily transactions you need to use some form of L2. Either lightning network or some L2 chains like Polygon/Arbitium. I think many will just need to adapt to this. You don't see anyone on the bitcoin chain doing transactions for less than $100 these days.

Use LTC and Doge for small numbers.

Use BTC for big numbers.

All problems will be greatly reduced.

the wooden shelving is not good, there are the Amazon Basics iron shelves which are very good and cost little, being grid-like they can also help for better cable management.
A PDU might help.

yeah those chrome plated shelves are very fire resistant and some cable ties.

ties are cheap 6 bucks

cooling was hard to see

so since I could not figure them out I was nice enough with 2 and 3
1670  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 2018 Dogecoin Bar on: November 27, 2023, 02:04:47 PM
Okay went to the link trying to understand what this bar is made of. what does it weigh.

From what I read it is 2oz of .999 silver.

but there are more than one bar and some are made differently.

so can I get a confirmation that this is supposed to be 2 oz troy .999 silver.

if it is the 2 oz troy silver .999 bar

 I will bid 0.0015 btc.

This is not silver... just silver plated
The pure silver bars are clearly marked with a stamp that says "2oz .999 fine silver much purity!"

okay

I will still bid 0.0015 as it is attractive. even though it is silverplate

0.0015 philipma1957

thanks for clarifying this for me.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I still hold the investment or sell it? on: November 27, 2023, 01:36:55 PM
His hand are soft not Diamond. He needs to sell it and ask for advice.

100 into 150 is nothing

and having to ask about it is the issue.

No understanding of hodl not ready to hodl.

Yes, and I can understand if it is someone young with little money or living in a developing country where that amount is more important than for us, but the fact that 20 days ago he was saying he was planning to hold for 5 years, plus adding to the investment, and now he is considering whether to sell makes me wonder if there isn't a bit of trolling going on here. In any case, I have it clear, at the moment we are in, facing a bull market and with that amount I would not sell, another thing is that he needs the money for something but then he should not have invested it in the first place.

Exactly that.

If we assume he is truthful he simply is not emotionally ready to invest.

Or he is a troll and we are wasting time replying to him.

But if a truly shaky handed person is reading this some advice could help them.

it was amusing .

so he equated theymos to xena the warrior princess.

not sure if you watched the 1990’s show.

You probably need to get your eyes checked by a doc, Sir DT1 God. Otherwise people will call you "blind god" in the future. You don't want the name stick on you.

Yeah If Xena said yes I would do her.

1673  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc vs dollars on: November 27, 2023, 01:30:10 PM
Presently, should we say it's good the way bitcoin its been tied to dollars? Dollars is not backed up with any resources but to my understanding, bitcoin is a product of great energy surge. We shouldn't let bitcoin tied to dollars but bitcoin standing on its own. What could decide the durability and value of bitcoin? I have some ideas..
Bitcoin needs to be tied to something.
There needs to be something backing it.  That's how you know what is valuable from what is not.

It is tied to watts.  watts cost fiat. so you can tie btc to

the Dollar
the Pound
the Frac
the Ruble
the Yuan
the Euro

so on and so forth
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: November 27, 2023, 12:57:46 PM
Of course there wouldn't had been a bridge of him being convicted but possibilities of paroles may have been considered.
But why don't we think otherwise too if maybe he pleaded the guilty not to prolong the agitations or rumours of the bad image upon the crypto companies exchange (Binance) all to eject himself out to avoiding any forms of contact of his existence still in the company maybe to bear the consequences while the company has to maintain a reliable stability roles to still hold reliances to its clients? Possibly in due time the reality truth may showcase because a trace of prove to the fraudulent accused/agreed guiltiness should had been made known on how goes about such of his journey to the activity.
What if we lives to say sorry to CZ and Binance at large in due time?
There are many hypothesis suggesting that CZ pleaded guilty just to avoid further quizzing and scrutiny. Even this seems plausible, if you juxtapose the advantage of such decision and the disadvantages, you will see that the later outweighs the former. Why will someone deliberately damage such an enviable image he has built for himself in the cryptocurrency space? It does not make any sense to me. If he actually intentionally pleaded guilty to avoid further digging, it means he has more shits to cover than we can imagine.

From someone of the articles I read, his major offense was Binance romance with Iran that have been in the black book of the powers that be. This seems to me like the borne of contention.

A ) we will never know what he did or did not do.
B ) he fell on the sword over his dealings with Iran 🇮🇷
C ) Some one backed Hamas with money weapons and good planning
D) The Hamas attack has lead to more than 16500 people killed
E ) Iran was the supposed backer of Hamas

I would not want to be in the shoes of CZ

Does it mean I think
Hamas
 Isreal
Iran
USA

are right or wrong no.

They are merely feeding the military industrial complex.

It looks like CZ got has hand bitten by that machine in his search for profits.

It also means more kyc for all of us.

F2pool recently censured txs when asked to do so by America 🇺🇸 which means they would censure for any country that has some weight.

buddy be bopping along.

hey jjg my gpus are whaling. pulling in a goodly amount of btc.

nicehash and kawpow directly mining to btc.

ai has pulled a ton of gpus off nicehash so the alts are waking back up.

plus paid for heat in my house win win.

The cold weather and mining profitability seem to be giving a little gift here. I had to fire up the old GPUs after being a bit chilly this morning. Just for shits and giggles I checked the profitability and wouldn’t you know it, I have 3+ year old GPUs that are once again printing money and keeping me warm in the winter. I love Bitcoin.

i kept almost all the gpus. they were as low as $25 a day they are around $90 a day.

to all wo members back in summer 2020 when btc had not quite fired up its bull. gpus woke up and started turning profits. It would be really nice if the last week or so of gpu upticks are a leading indicator for btc.

1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From Mining to Gambling: A Rollercoaster Ride in the Crypto World on: November 27, 2023, 03:46:28 AM
Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience diving into the world of mining and crypto. I purchased three L3+ machines and enjoyed a nice profit from hashing on Nicehash for Bitcoin mining. However, with minimal knowledge, I delved into futures trading, following a paid signal WhatsApp group with just $500. I would enter trades with $200, experiencing some quick wins, making $50 or $100, but ultimately losing it all. Despite earning around $3,000 worth in BTC from mining, I lost it all in futures trading.

Then, I stumbled upon a crypto casino online. I deposited $20 and started playing various original casino games, winning about $350, all in USDT, only to lose it shortly after. Despite winning and losing amounts like $500 or $1,000 from subsequent deposits, I eventually found myself with just $50. I decided to play keno, choosing 10 out of 40 numbers. Luck seemed to be on my side as I made over $100,000 in 14 days. That night, I moved $85,000 to a cold wallet and left $7,000 in the casino to make a daily profit of $200. Additionally, I had $5,000 in Binance. The following morning, I eagerly joined the casino only to watch in dismay as I lost $7,000 in just 10 seconds. Frustrated, I deposited $10,000 from the cold wallet, only to lose it in less than a minute. I continued with a deposit of $20,000, experiencing the same outcome. Observing my substantial losses adding up to over $48,000, I then withdrew the remaining $43,000 from the cold wallet and wagered it all in the casino, losing it. Binance also suffered, and in the span of 3 minutes, I lost over $100,000.

That's my story, and I apologize if it was lengthy. I went to bed wealthy and woke up poor again.

1679  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [Wallet of Satoshi] Bitcoin lightning paymemt is in stuck!! on: November 27, 2023, 03:43:19 AM
i didn't want to create a new thread to tell you the following news...
surprisingly, the very popular lightning wallet has withdrawn from the american versions of the Apple app store and the Google play store. this step was probably taken due to growing concerns about regulatory pressure from the us authorities...

https://nitter.net/walletofsatoshi/status/1727937085741678679

of course. us authorities don't want anything to be hidden. they want all the transaction on the main chain so they can know who is doing what and with whom and how often.  Shocked

now this brings about a better reason for the higher fees on the main chain.

shut off LN  and pad the main chain with high fees.

Damn the gov is good at fucking things up. 🆙

well there is always LTC and Doge.
