961  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: My single Phase 235 volt T21 on: June 04, 2024, 10:34:03 PM
I just got my first T21 working on VNISH firmware. Set it for 175TH just to see how it stabilizes. Very exciting! I too was quite upset when i opened up my T21's and realized it was 3 phase power. I am so glad that I am able to convert this to a good miner just using my S19j pro power supplies from backup miners. Im going to model a cover and put it up on thingiverse for anyone that needs it. Sorry altair, i really love and appreciate the bus bars, but im not gonna pay $20 for someone else to print me a cover. And unfortunately they dont sell the stl.

yeah I can understand not buying a cover.

but I can tell you Altair has helped me time and time again.

They also help this website a lot.

963  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 04, 2024, 10:04:50 PM
Weighed myself after a quick 50 push-ups and I’m back to losing weight again. Very strange how I’ve been seesawing so much in the weight department as I step up these exercises. I figured I was on the up only path but I guess my eating right and stepping up the aerobic exercises has caused me to get skinnier. Not sure how I feel about that.

As a guy that knows kind of fat. (256 lbs) and in shape 175lbs

weight is funky. I am at 192-195 right now very happy with this weight.

What I do see is my legs and butt and lungs along with heart are all in good shape.

I will do some upper body exercises beside the stretch bands. Wife has me doing partial pushups they seem okay. I would like to do some work for my upper body and not hurt the repaired umbilical hernia.

As for weight anything under 200 is good. I am liking how I bounce back to  a normal heartbeat after the 360 steps.  Much more important than weight.
964  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you were to write a letter to your parents, what would you write? on: June 04, 2024, 09:58:04 PM
My parents were not too good. Not sure what I could possibly write to them.

They are dead 2003 my dad and 2016 my mom.

Very hard to give an answer to this.

A very good day Bitcoinland.

Today is DCA day for me. Actually it's not dollar cost averaging. It's dollar return averaging. It's my monthly fiat purchase to pay the taxman.

Bitcoin went back up over $70kUSD just in time. Managed to buy my dollars at just under $71kUSD per coin.

Thank you Bitcoin.

Seems like it’s a good day for most assets. I think the excitement from yesterday has died down and the markets are ready to recover and get back on their horse. I didn’t expect to wake up to so much green this morning (I thought we’d see it yesterday) but I’m good with it. BTC to $80K+ by the end of the summer.

Hmmm end of summer like 80 possible in 4 months

Wake up dude

80k by the end of spring would be nice.
966  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Advice on home mining on: June 04, 2024, 08:35:20 PM
Thank you philipma1957 for your answer, that is interesting. I'm looking into your solution.

What would be the estimated DB of a 3000 RPM fan ? around 40 DB ? And four of them might be louder I suppose.

Why would you pick this instead of one more recent/efficient miner that would be liquid cooled or immerged ? Do you think it's more reliable hardware ? Easier to setup ? Quieter ? And I can try one first with a partial investment ?

The cons I see is I would need a bit more space than one new/efficient miner. It can be done but it is a bit less convenient. And maybe the risk that the miners are obsolete quicker ?

Thank you again, I'm looking into this

The noise restriction means fans at 3000 rpm they are not silent. But they are far far far lower sound than full speed at 5500 rpm.

7kwatts  could mean  you will have a lot of heat issues.

I did a build with the t21 but a t21 will cost 3x that of a s19 maybe 4x

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5491800.0.

you would like this more but it cost way way way more money  I run it at low speed for now as it is warm where I am.

one way to mix your bitcoin is to send it somewhere like coinbase and then send it back to another address

sending coin to a CEX and withdraw from their other hotwallet is a way to swap coin taint. but it comes with services then monitoring and knowing what came in and out

using a CEX as a mixer was only good years ago before regulations..

there are many other methods to do it to get clean fresh coin with no taint. work it out, learn how bitcoin works to learn the simple way. and do it. hint (coin as fee in deal with pool to get fresh minted coin(its what the meme bloat scammers do))

they use the same address ("account") over and over and over. until the cows come home and yet somehow, privacy doesn't seem to be anything they worry about. i dont know why. maybe it's two different mindsets. Shocked
satoshi sent funds to hal, then reused the same address half a dozen times more.... 15 years later no body has found satoshi

there are no kyc exchanges you can use them and hide coins.

you can mine to nicehash using a virgin address. No one knows who owns the address.

https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/@@@@@@@@kslfsn5s@@@@@@zcsw32t9j@@@@@@@@@@@

point a ton of gear and that address will get a weekly deposit no one knows the owner of it. All they know is the amount of coins in it.

Since it gets weekly deposits of lets say 0.010 btc at years end it has 0.52 btc

If you have a bigger mine you can do it with 5 addresses and each will have 0.52 btc at years end. plus they are not breaking the rules as written since they are used 52 times a year.

at the end of the year. you can merge them into anyone of the five addresses you used repetitively  and you have 2.60 btc clean as by these rules. No one knows whom or is it who you are.

June 4 396 steps 33 flights of stairs took 15.15 minutes right after Breakfast. Price is 70.2k

I am intentionally doing the stairs/steps a bit slower. I have found that my knees were feeling stressed when I did 33 flights in 13:13 time but at 15:15 time same steps were okay.

I will add to 16:16 tomorrow likely getting to 34 or 35 flights of stairs. about 420 steps of stairs.

If I can do 20 minutes and 40 flights/480 steps daily I will stay at that number. I will do the lite bike work at nite.

and I may just may try a handful of wait for it. pushups.

$70,000 still a tough nut to crack by the looks of it. We’ll smash through it soon though, I really don’t know why people are selling or shorting in this range. It’s like picking up pennies in front of a steaming locomotive.

I think this time next year we will all be a hell of a lot richer than we are now. It’s the start of the business end of this four year cycle. Don’t drink too much, don’t take too many drugs, cut down on the hookers. We all need to be of sound mind for 18 months now.

Those sellers are probably exchanges selling paper bitcoin to the inflows. It's how Binance keeps its own centralized shitcoin afloat I bet. For whatever reason many exchanges hate Bitcoin.

They use and abuse BTC.

I am going to say that I brought my average up to 200 pushups per day for today, yet tentatively, I am now planning to allow my average drop down to around 150 per day, and so it could take more than a month to achieve that, but I am going to take some pressure off of myself, because it is just too much for me to be trying to keep my 200 pushups average.

My plan is to try to do between 100 and 150 pushups, and so I am not going to get stressed out as long as my pushups are somewhere in that range.. and maybe, I will just see how it goes in the coming weeks as far as the next target.

Though I may not know your age but I believe age and stamina  are among  the two things that determined how many push-up one will go a day without been affected and
i think your idea is nice cause it will help you round up fast without much stress and pains. In as much as we have a target and also trying to keep our body fit that doesn't mean one should over do it cause there are effects when someone overstressed his/her muscles and sometimes the pains are usually not funny and too much of everything is not good.

believe it or not having done long periods of steady exercise even if you do not reach the goal you want still help. at 38 I was 256 or 258. I went to the ymca for four years. five times a week and aqua jogged.
I dropped down to 190 pounds.

I get away from exercise for a long time. went back in 2021 at 215 and dropped to 185 say feb 2021 to august 2022.  had the hernia operation and stopped up to 213 this feb started exercise and down to 192.

all three long periods of regular exercise help me in multiple ways. So I know that “just do it” has real benefits.

I once felt this way when I was doing an average of 200 push-ups a day for some weeks. It got to a point when my body was so stressed that I couldn't keep up with the average of 200 push-ups a day. I had to reduce my daily push-up number to ease the pain in my body and keep on doing my push-ups. For now, my push-up average is around 150 push-ups per day, and I have adopted a strategy of 5 sets of 30 reps to maintain the 150 push-ups a day.

yep as too much pain means setback and possible injury.

Yeah quality food = costly

I think I starting working out again around Dec 2020.

But all light movement.

23 minutes on a stationary cycle  3 times a day after each meal. plus exercise bands while I cycled

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088DZWSF6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?

Just attach to the cycle bars .

I had got down to 185 pounds and was on good shape. I then did the hernia operation and stopped exercising for a long time. I gained almost 30 pounds. 215 or so. I am back to 195 and getting in shape. The stair climbing and light cycle work is a bit better than the  just lite cycle work.

I really like that this thread came along. I took a long break for my next surgery and am now getting back to it.

But with all due respect, light movement or not, going 23 minutes 3 times a day sounds very consistent and healthy to me if you don't cause your body to be sore all the time. You are way above the average person with that workload. There are amazing studies on the huge positive effects of little physical activity. Decreasing returns to scale is the key term here. Someone who exercises three times a week for 30 minutes is a hell lot of more healthy than a person not doing anything at all. Hence, 69 minutes a day split in very doable sessions is a great way to stay healthy.

I don't know any other data about you, but for an average person weighing 195 is sooooo much better than weighing 215. The weight difference has tremendous effects on all parts and systems of your body. Hormones, cardiovascular system, joints of course! I can't tell the numbers from the top of my head, but you are taking of thousands of tons of workload for your joints per year when you lose a few pounds of fat. It is because of the weight having a different load when in motion. Again, very interest research out there about it.

So good to read you are doing all that exercise and once you feel like it, resistance is no less important and has amazing synergetic and complimentary effects, JayJuanGee pointed that out. Whether going cardio first and resistance training last or vice versa, in general JJG is correct. Depleting energy especially with anaerobic training first is not the best idea, but again it is much better than not doing it at all. It depends what the cardio training looks like. Hardcore anaerobic and then resistance training, if possible then rather not. Once you are used to cardio by the way, your body learns to more efficiently mobilize ketones for as long as you don't go ultra hard during most of your cardio sessions. Training can turn you into a very machine over time when it comes to energy usage. That is why different forms of training combined over the course of a week is the best thing you can do. People who do a lot of aerobic cardio will see that it is a great way to get better control over your hunger. The reason is that the body far quicker starts mobilizing fatty acids to nurture the body. That's why having some days with less carbohydrates can make sense to more intensely train the body for fat oxidation instead of glucose usage. But I am not a fan of any extreme form of nutrition. Temporarily yes, but a whole life without carbohydrates or anything excluded from the meal plan is something I think isn't sustainable for most people.

For me the 3 x 23 = 69 minutes was eating too much time. It was mild cycling or spinning along with do resistance bands on the handlebars. for maybe 3 minutes or 5 minutes of each 23 minute session.  I was doing this for a few years. The had the hernia which put the exercise for a long time.

I did go back to the 3 x 23 with bands in Feb of this year until I did the deviated septum surgery this April.

I was inspired by this thread and got back into regular exercise because of this thread. (likely may have got back eventually but this thread helps).

The steps are way way way harder to do then the cycling so I have to find the right amount of steps and the right amount of speed/time.

My breath control is improving a lot doing this.(fixing the septum also helps).  Maybe I will end up at 40 flights and 20 minutes maybe I cut it at 30-35 flights and 15 minutes.

Knees feel a bit sore in the 25+ flights range. So I know I can't push past that as it is not muscle involved.

Shutting AC off and getting house to 85f helps the steps/flights as no muscles are stiff from cold.

This has been a nice journey for me. Looking forward to 15.15 minutes of stair tomorrow and 30-35 flights of stairs.

why double so often?

btw as i read the two of you argue it looks like scrypt with doge and ltc merged mined is the better solution.

than frozen btc blocks or endless btc block doubling .
DOGE is highly inflationary (maybe not as much as USD, but they still issue over 14m coins per day).

LTC could play second fiddle to BTC (like gold vs silver).

that is a common mis conception doge is superior to both ltc and btc. it has solved the reward/fee ratio issue.

As time goes on Doge looks better and BTC looks worse

Doge a perfectly steady decreasing rate of inflation
BTC as of today the reward/fee ratio is neat to be fixed.

BY 2036 looks like it is an issue

Its why people argue over how to fix fees in the future.

Doge has obviously fixed inflation issue.

4.34% in 2036
2.00% in 2064 the 51st year of it.

1.00% in 2114 the 101st year of it.Never running out of reward money for fees. and 10x the blocks which allows a clone of any fix btc does. but 10x the volume.
DOGE's inflation is even higher than FED's 2% target. Shocked

If you ask me, I don't consider deflation a bad thing, especially if the human population is going to decrease accordingly (Japan is a good example).

By 2036 BTC should be the global reserve currency and extremely valuable.

0.39 BTC could be a small fortune by then, even if you measure it in today's dollars. Imagine if 1 BTC is worth 10 million (as Hal Finney envisioned back in 2009)... you think mining will stop being profitable? Let alone the ever increasing fees!

Also, AI & robots will be everywhere, which is going to cause huge deflationary pressure everywhere. Cost of labor will be basically zero by then.

I know this sounds nuts, but the humanity of 2036 will be very different compared to today.

We won't really need inflation in the future. Smiley

and fees could be minimum of 110 sats or $110. if we don’t fix the reward to fee ratios.

I am old so I will be gone by 2057 I will be 100. But doge has fixed the reward to fee issue as I type and doge has ever shrinking inflation rates. At my age of 67 btc is a decent bet but if you are 20 doge is likely to be really good by the time you are 67.

I see btc in trouble by 2050 unless they figure a fix for reward fee issues.
