In btct is a 1,5M selling wall, someones is trying to get out desesperately LOL

That's part of the new IPO, not someone getting out.

ok, thanks! Didn't know.

Do you know how much AMC shares there are in total? Thanks!

Take it to the AMC thread please, they run a questionable operation and I'd prefer that AM shareholders not presume it is a safe investment because it is being taken seriously here.
742  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 17, 2013, 01:11:53 PM
I haven't really taken a look at this asset until now, and I'm must say I'm baffled about why anyone would buy it. There are so many holes in the prospectus, and so much risk it isn't even funny.

1. Do bondholders own the equipment they are paying for?
2. Will there be any transparency for purchase prices? Proof of purchases?
3. Does the company have any assets or experience to justify such a large fundraising effort?
4. What pool will you mine on to prove your work?
5. Why on earth would anyone want to buy into stale BFL orders? Why order from any company that has not demonstrated reliable delivery?
6. When does mining start?
7. What's in it for Lab Rat?

I could go on, but that's enough for now.

This is not well-conceived. I suggest you reconsider.

As it stands if a company releases an IPO, speculators can undercut the offering leaving the company high and dry with no funding. Havelock has a system for this

Oh, the delicious irony...

Im not saying their system is foolproof - the sandstorm debacle is proof that it isnt - but a system that allows for a primary and secondary market would be a good move if implemented well. Most investors want the company they are investing in to succeed, allowing people to buy shares directly from the company - and therefore having the money actually go to the company - would set btc-tc head and shoulders above the competition (in my opinion), and would entice more companies to list on btc-tc.

Your "problem" is not a real "problem" currently, and your "solution" doesn't solve the "problem" anyway.

First, if an IPO is overpriced, people will still prefer to purchase via the secondary market.

Second, the Sandstorm "debacle" you speak of has no bearing on your argument. It was a simple case of wanton investor ignorance, and probably an asset that was too small to be IPOing in the first place. The ignorance led to extreme overvaluation, and the small size of the fundraising, allowed it to happen much more dramatically.

Oh, the delicious irony...

Sounds like an IPO that is overpriced, or not an IPO at all (like AMC).
748  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: July 16, 2013, 05:23:50 PM
I guess every time a price rises there will be people that call it a bubble. And every time it declines, it is a bubble bursting. I guess some see millions of bubbles being blown and burst every week where most of us just see price fluctuations.

I tend to think it is just a way of trying to increase the importance of natural market fluctuations, and to make themselves feel clever because they have a particular insight that allows them to see these trends before anyone else does. Perhaps not. But If they are to be believed, AsicMiner and BTC must have more bubbles than the head of a poorly-poured draft beer.

Would you consider all of AM's price movements 'natural market fluctuations'? You're correct that everything isn't a bubble, but they do exist - the 1999 'tech bubble' and the recent 'US home mortgage industry bubble' of the mid 2000s really were bubbles and really did burst.

Correct, and in that sense, AM has never crashed, nor popped. Yet, people use bubble talk every day for many bitcoin stocks.

I will donate 20% of my overall investment gains, up to (1300-120)BTC * my percentage invested at the time of the error.

Thanks Bugpowder.  I somehow missed this post before.

I'm so sick and tired of this whole thing at the moment, but I'll carry on with it and see how it goes.  I just don't feel good about any of it any more.

Carry on man. If you persist, over time your gains will overshadow the error and you will see it as cost of business or cost of education.

Aim for 13000 coins, not 1300.

To be candid, Dooglus didn't ask anyone for advice on the matter.

He stated that his solution was to pay out of his own pocket, and there is no better way to learn a lesson than that kind of pain.

This will surely instigate him to improve his withdrawal procedure or programming if relevant.

751  Economy / Securities / Re: [NEW!] [HAVELOCK] [AM1] ASICMINER Full-Share PT - No Mgmt Fees! Import/Export! on: July 15, 2013, 03:27:59 PM
I just want to know how many ASICMINER PT shares have been imported to TAT so far?

Into AM1, or all of the TATI ASICMINER PTs, towards the total for board seat benefit sharing?
752  Economy / Securities / Re: S.MG - The Ministry of Games. on: July 15, 2013, 03:26:51 PM
There is a problem with your heraldry spec:

Quote
Always keep in mind that in the composition of the final representation blue is added first, on top of it red and on top of that yellow. All designs from all sources of either IV.1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 must geometrically work with any other combination. The exact specifications for the file is 1024 x 1024 px png, the shield starting vertically from 400 (±8 px) and ending vertically at 800 (±8px), horizontally from 330 (±12px) and ending horizontally at 660 (±12px). The exact shape of the shield is not specified. In general there should be negative-ish spacevii allowing indifferent superimposition of yellow and blue.

This would place the shield off-center, sitting to the left. Should the shield area be wider, or the blue area?

Also, can these areas overlap if the designs work together. For example, if ornaments curve in kind with the tail of a beast, or a beast's paw rests against a protruding ornament on the edge of a shield? Or will these aspects be interchangeable, thus disallowing such schemes?
753  Economy / Securities / Re: Stumbled over the amazing TAT.VIRTUALMINE on BitFunder on: July 15, 2013, 01:33:07 PM
With difficulty violently rising the way it has been, there are only three reasons you might consider purchasing at the current market rate and expecting a profit:

1. If you think that the share price will stay high enough to sell at a profit after collecting dividends for a short term. While this has been possible for various timeframes in the life of TAT.VM, this is very risky speculation.
2. If you think that difficulty will stop rising at some point in the next few weeks/months. This is not the forecast, nor the consensus of the community.
3. If you think that difficulty will decrease, or continue to decrease sometime in the next year or so. This is rather unlikely, but I suppose there are some scenarios where something like this is possible, like bitcoin permanently forking, or become much less popular, etc.

In short, buying TAT.VM in the current environment, and under the current forecast, effectively means you are either betting against the difficulty rate, or speculating that the share price will hold longer than the yield % warrants.

Just a quick update.

The first dividend for AM1 will be this week. The PT is up to a modest 250 shares in a few days  Grin

We've got another 250 or so incoming via direct share imports. I've also successfully converted a few people from other PT whole shares without any issues.

I will sync up with James this week for an update on our fancy export form as well, but any manual exports needed will be facilitated either way.

Have a great week.
757  Economy / Securities / Re: [PHM] - Power Hash Mining Announcement on: July 13, 2013, 08:46:17 PM
This will be a major flop. The IPO issuer is not willing to clarify squat!

In fairness, if I was trying to sell 2 BFL preorders + a few GPUs for $60k I wouldn't be too keen on clarifying either.  Which is what we have to assume to be the case given the total lack of clarity on the very key point of whether the funds raised by IPO go into the fund or into the issuer's pocket.

I had a conversation with PHM before this announcement. It looks like some of the details discussed were not included in the final version here. While I cannot speak for PHM, it was my understanding that the funds for the IPO will be owned by the shareholders under PHM, but that the current market value of the BFL orders and the GPUs will be deducted in order for the fund to buy the equipment and own it. He quoted the BFL value as what they paid for them in cash, but we did not discuss how they would determine the value of the GPUs.

PHM, please update the details to clarify that the fund owns money raised via the sale of shares, and what exact cost will be deducted to purchased the existing equipment/orders.

Can someone explain why there is so much fluctuation in the ASICMINER mining share?

The stock has been volatile for a while now. It's just that no one complains when it's going and up, up, up.

No, no. You did not understand me. I did not complain that the stock is going down. I was asking why the mining power of the ASICMINER pool fluctuates quite widely. Are they turning their Mining Rigs ON and OFF all the time?

Oh! This caused either by variance (luck), or them testing/burning in new blades, or some kind of dynamic management of hashpower to try and stay at a certain % of nethash or total revenue from mining.

I have no idea if it's one or all of those things though.
759  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 13, 2013, 04:03:41 PM
If you walked into a bank to open an account, and the teller said "good thing you didn't go with those fucking morons across the street", you'd be shocked. You wouldn't trust them with your money. Here in bitcoin land, you can have a hardware manufacturer or an exchange owner call its customers fucking morons, and nobody even cares.

I know BFL has behaved in ways like that, but I don't recall any exchange operators that do. Ah, wait, MPOE-PR can be rather biting, true.

I do agree that sometimes exchange operators and issuers, including myself, can be too informal at times. Some of us are responsible for managing millions of dollars worth in portfolio equity, and you are justified in wanting those representatives to act maturely and responsibly. It's something I try to think about as often as I can, but admittedly I can be susceptible to good trolling and frustrated with some forum "superstars" at times. Know that I am making an effort, and I assume people like Burnside, Ukyo, and Lightbox are doing the same. Even, Deprived, the Grim Reaper of bitcoin finance, can show emotion and lose a little control at times.

I have been running my own successful business for most of my career now, and my responsibilities have included interfacing with clients, customer service, and sales, even though those are not the core services I provided as a business. As the business grew, I was able to focus more on what I was best at, and leave the other aspects to specialists. In that sense, I think part of what you are seeing in bitcoin is small business style management and behavior, in an industry that has been traditionally one of big businesses. You'd never see things like the programmer being the CEO, PR, and CS rep for a financial service in the "real world".

There is plenty "wrong" with how things work right now, but I do think it's improving before our eyes. More transparency, scrutiny, and raising of standards will come, no matter how much kicking and screaming it takes.
