1561  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER vs. Cado.AvalonB3 on: May 10, 2013, 06:57:50 PM
Obviously I am biased since I run an ASICMINER PT, but consider the following and you will see it's an easy choice:

1. AM will be the ones helping raise the mining difficulty, and Cado will be affected a lot by that.

2. Cado still doesn't have a hard date from Avalon on when they will even receive their miners. In those weeks they are waiting, you could have been getting dividends from AM, and could have bought AM while it's still less expensive (the price will keep going up as they add hashrate).

3. Cado has no reinvestment plan, so after a month or so of hashing, dividends will get noticeably smaller and smaller each week, and share price will go down with it.

4. Dividends are paid every 2 weeks for Cado, which is less frequent than AM, which means less chance for you to reinvest for compounded interest.

5. Cado is paying 26 eurocents for electrity, that's pretty damn high.

1562  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: May 10, 2013, 06:37:53 PM
Ukyo,

Do you have an alternate way to transfer funds out of BitFunder?

This morning I performed a transfer from WeExchange.co that didn't work, but claims it has been completed. Blockchain.info says no transaction found with the given number.

I cannot reach anyone at WeExchange. I'm getting no response.

Now my trust in that transfer path is very low.  Undecided

I need to make a transfer, and fix the broken (or delayed) one.

Help!

All users are having the same issue. WeExchange is not processing any deposits or withdrawals properly for the last 10-15 hours.
1563  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 10, 2013, 05:01:23 PM
ASICMINER  works for mining any SHA-256 alt coin pretty well. I mined today TRC and later PPC. Today morning profitability of TRC vs BTC was 187%. People jumped mining it and difficulty went from 12000 to 120000 in few hours profitability dropped to 37%.  So, question is not if ASICMINER can mine alt coins or not, but if it make any sense to do.

it probably does not make sense.

AM could easily contribute > 50% to any sha256 altcoin...basically destroying it.

if AM were to use a small (relative) amount of hash power on an altchain, they would still need to dump the coins on the market. the huge dumps everyday would dramatically reduce the price of the coin.

not worth the time.

Destroying a couple useless alt-coins would probably be a good deed though. As long as it's profitable, why not?

1. Make a bitbet that says X altcoin will fall to some very low value.
2. Spam that bet in trollbox
3. Use AM's mined altcoins to crash that coin the day before the bet expires.
4. Profit.
5. Altcoiners realize altcoins really are too risky, and get back into bitcoin
6. Altcoiners see that AM is the best asset to invest in and buy shares
7. Profit.

Hi all, sorry about all the excitement.  Wink

Two things going on here.

The first is that as you guessed, the bitcoind has been causing some pretty crazy slowdowns.  Simple getBalance requests are taking forever.  You can tell what pages hit bitcoind vs what pages are cached by how long they take to load.  I'm pretty sure I can shore this up with the upcoming bitcoind 0.8.1 upgrade.  (which will be a several hour long outage, most likely tomorrow night.)

The second, and more immediate issue tonight was that the bitcoind crashed.  I'm not sure if it was load related or what, but it crashed while I was commuting.  Perfect timing.  Smiley  If it was load related, then the 0.8.1 upgrade should also help out with that.

Cheers.

I suggest moving to a separate system for balances and such instead of relying on bitcoind. You can just take the bitcoin transaction processing part offline (people can still deposit 'n' withdraw) while you work on bitcoind.

Sure, it's going to take some work to overhaul your current system, but maybe it's worth it? Smiley

I've definitely been thinking about this.  It would allow another layer of abstraction away from the *coind's, which is definitely good.

I really thought going into it that it'd be best to use the *coind's because it seemed like they were built with a feature set intended to run a site like this.  I'll do the 0.8.1 update and see if things change much at all.  If they don't then we'll make a new plan and do a transition to doing everything balance related in SQL.

It seems to me that the 0.8.1 update would be a band-aid at best, assuming you think your site will continue to grow and grow Wink

I'm new to this auction area of the site, is there any way for us to confirm you own these shares? Does the company keep a public list?

1MDypxCYTtaCp56Lqfc7BxuDFNsRFK9h5E: the satoshis I get every week show that I have enough shares (>1800 satoshis = >1800 shares.)

Wow, still at 1.35... even Bitfunder is higher.

Still 2 days for people to wait and see what happens, I suppose.

No Fees (Only donations for escrow while trading shares, if one was used. But that's not needed if your'e greedy.)'

Multiple instance where you use "shareprice" which should be two words, "share price"

Multiple instances where you say "fess", which should be: "fees"

That's all!
1573  Economy / Securities / Re: [HOWTO] Trading/Buying/Selling Asicminer Shares Overview and Comparison on: May 09, 2013, 12:46:48 AM
Thanks! Just a couple notes for you.

1. You mention DeadTerra/Burnside in the first AM 100 area, but neither of them are the operators
2. While I can't guarantee this every time, I actually paid faster than Friedcat because my shareholders didn't have to wait for confirmations. It is my goal to always be the fastest (assuming DT and Burnside don't change their current speed)

Also, I have newly release this fraction passthrough on HavelockInvestments.com as well.

Also saw one or two typos I think spell check might catch.

Thanks again!

I found the first point and rewrote it. The second point is noted in the comparison of first 3 types, not again in the comparison at the bottom because both are handled by you.

I dont see typos... can you give some tips? English isnt my first language so it might happen...

Ill check out the third platform tomorrow. All 3 pts are one in fact right? And all have the same rules? Then i only would have to check the fees of the new platform.

Correct, all 3 PTs of mine total into one.

Fractional ASICMINER shares are now available at Havelock Investments as well. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=ASICM

They are selling like hotcakes, but don't worry, I'm replenishing as fast I can!

Awesome, I love havelock.

Please make sure you implement the dead man's switch soon or that it happens.

It was in place before any of these PTs went live actually!

OP, sorry for having derailed the threat.

Nothing derails my machine-like persistence.  I'll continue to post the report each day no matter what you're talking about.

You said 'threat' btw.  Which made me wonder.  Is the threat of violence considered violent?  Under the non-aggression principle, I mean, which your "spanking = abuse" comments reminded me of.

Threat of violence is filed under "verbal abuse" most likely, which can be arguably worse than actual spanking. There are also newer studies that surmise that some of these negative behaviors can indeed "toughen" up kids, depending on the projection and context of the "abuse"...

It took me a while to find the pun, and I'm still not sure I have it.  Rear means "to raise" and also "butt".  Is that it?

LOL, yep! Not my best work, but my freshman high school English teacher did tell me, "Puns are the lowest form of humor."

Obviously I disagree.  Cool
1580  Economy / Securities / [HAVELOCK] AM100, a New Micro-share ASICMINER Passthrough! on: May 08, 2013, 09:19:50 PM
TAT Investments is happy to announce that ASICMINER shares are finally available within the Havelock Investments website!

Shares will be released in small waves at www.havelockinvestments.com/ at fixed prices, so if you see them sold out for some reason, just wait a little bit and I'll post more.

------

AM100 represents a passthrough asset of fractional shares of the ASICMINER Mining Company. ASICMINER is a market leader in the bitcoin mining industry, creating various mining equipment for sale, as well as running their own mining farm.

Proceeds from ASICMINER mining farm and from the sale of equipment are distributed to shareholders as weekly dividends. This asset represents fractional passthrough shares of the underlying asset, receiving a proportional amount of dividends for each share.

Quote

AM100, an ASICMINER Fractional Passthru managed by TAT Investments

This is asset is being offered for the following purposes:
1. To provide an additional venue for investors to buy or sell ASICMINER shares more easily by splitting the shares.
2. To provide an easy way for ASICMINER shareholders to reinvest their dividends to maximize compounded interest opportunities.
3. To consolidate enough ASICMINER shares so as to reach 5,000 whole shares, thus increasing their inherent value with potential access to ASICMINER’s established and future board member benefits, namely any hardware opportunities ASICMINER provides exclusively to board members.

Shares
Each 1 share of AM100 represents 1/100th of a share of ASICMINER maintained and verified by either Friedcat or any officially designated exchange, and has rights to 1/100th of the dividends of a whole ASICMINER share.

Dividends
Each AM100 share has the right to 95% of its respective dividends. 5% will be retained for asset management fees. The amount of the dividend is defined as the same amount distributed by ASICMINER to the shares held by the issuer for this asset. Dividends will be paid within 48 hours or less of confirmed payments from ASICMINER.

Voting Rights
Any public votes presented by ASICMINER will be decided by the issuer for all asset shares at his own discretion.

Quantity and Source of Shares
Shares cannot be imported or exported by shareholders at this time, but shares can be freely bought and sold. Shares may be imported at will by the issuer alone.

Additional Dividends or Benefits from Board Member Status
Once the passthrough reaches 5,000 whole ASICMINER shares (500,000 split shares) it may receive a board member seat. If board member status is confirmed, and Friedcat follows through with the plan to give each board member a trial ASICMINER mining board, any income generated will be shares as follows:

85% of the mining income from any hardware given to this board seat will be paid out to the shareholders of AM100 on the same weekly dividend schedule ASICMINER currently uses. At the discretion of the TAT.ASICMINER issuer, these extra dividends may be distributed sooner.

NOTE: This passthrough exists on multiple exchanges (currently BTCT.co and Bitfunder.com as well), but acts as a single combined asset. Thus, the combined shares represented on all exchanges will count towards eligibility of an ASICMINER board seat, and associated benefits.

Reserved Rights
Issuer reserves the following rights:
1. To change schedule of dividends to be in line with any changes in schedule the underlying asset may enact.
2. To change the % of board mining profits withheld if expenses, like electricity, are not covered by the 15% portion being withheld.
3. To make changes to this contract that represent the best interests of its shareholders
4. To correct and clarify any gross errors or details herein that may prove to be open to misinterpretation.
5. To limit the total amount of shares allowed within the asset once it has reached 5000 whole shares (500,000 split shares).

Dissolution
In the event that the issuer chooses to, or is forced to, close this asset for any reason, the following methods may be used for dissolution in any combination:
1. A new operator may be vetted and chosen by ThickAsThieves to take over control of the asset.
2. Shares may be bought back from shareholders at a reasonable market value.
3. Shares may be converted to direct whole shares and redistributed to shareholder e-mail accounts with Friedcat.
4. Shares may be converted into equivalent whole shares on any other existing ASICMINER passthrough or exchange and redistributed to shareholders.
