OFFICIAL UPDATE

I have some news for everyone after a brief e-mail exchange with Friedcat. He has answered the 3 questions I submitted from our recent poll below:

Quote
-- There was news about a presentation by Rockxie about ASICMINER. Can you confirm this was an official presentation and summarize the news that was shared about upcoming plans for the mining farm and the Mini Blade?
Friedcat: They are true, though some projected dates from our side were more-or-less overly determined in his presentation.

-- When can we expect the first financial report?
Friedcat: We are asking board members if July 23 is acceptable.

-- Could Bitfountain provide an official live hashrate meter from ASICMINER for your mining farm, or could you periodically confirm the current hashrate?
Friedcat: Yes. Our internal management system is towards its completing. Directing the data to a public webpage is easy.

In other news, Friedcat has also officially confirmed my new status as a board member!

I am truly honored and proud to have achieved this, and I look forward to playing any role I can to further ASICMINER's success.

Just a quick update that I have e-mailed Friedcat about the poll questions again, just in case he missed the original private message.

Hopefully I am not annoying him, and hopefully he'll have a lot of news for us this week   Smiley
827  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2013, 12:01:27 AM
one question - comes Havelock Investments not in consideration?

Because Havelock wouldn't allow this crap most likely...

Are you seriously naming whatever this is AM? As if you weren't enough of an ASICMINER wanna-be already...   Roll Eyes
828  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: July 08, 2013, 08:18:01 PM
It's simple really. Furuknap won't compare DMS.MINING because it would show his asset is overpriced in comparison.

Any other rationale is hot air. He's only okay with comparing to TAT.VM because it has a little MORE volatility due to speculators and due to the lack of an instrument to bet against it (ignoring that *I* still can bet against it by issuing new shares).

All of Furuknap's arguments are bull. Any time the conversation goes in a direction he doesn't like, he says he he's not willing to make assumptions. However, any time it goes in a direction that paints his asset in a good light, or merely obfuscates its being overpriced, he has no problem making convenient assumptions.
829  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: July 08, 2013, 05:46:48 PM
in BF, all issued shares must be paid a dividend, even if it's the issuer that holds them. It's kinda annoying if you are still trying to sell shares and are forced to have enough btc pay yourself in order to pay everyone else.

It also makes it impossible to tell how many shares have been sold - which is great for those who want to market-manipulate their own assets but not so great for legitimate issuers or for investors.

This is a big issue with AMC, as not only are issued issuer shares held and paid dividends, but they are transferrable. This makes it easy for him to obfuscate price-manipulation and self-purchase of shares, etc. I know buying your own shares isn't hard anyway, but at one point you could easily tell that AMC was running two large holding accounts...

831  Economy / Securities / Re: S.MG - The Ministry of Games. on: July 08, 2013, 05:14:10 PM
But investors in S.MG (should) want whichever will give the best return on investment - the company's focus should NOT be on "what will make the most players happy" but on "what will make the most profit for our investors".  And I'm VERY certain MP is on the side of investors not players.

None of which to say the two (pleasing investors and having satisifed players) are mutually exclusive - it's just that it's far easier to develop something that focuses on one of them than to try to deliver to both.
I disagree here.

Even if investors care only about profits and not happy users, unhappy users will not bring profits in the long term, and likely not even in the short term (though that may happen).

If your game is horrible it won't sell, no matter if it has a good business model (actually, having a bad game is a bad business model itself). Furthermore you'll alienate players for your future games.

If instead your game is great but it doesn't have a sound business model, it may be a financial failure, but at least will give you a head start for your next one (assuming you manage to try to make one).

So, both of these failures bring you no money, but while one gives you an advantage for an eventual next try, the other gives you a penalty!

Why must things be so absolute and extreme?

Players can both enjoy a game AND have complaints about it. I'd bet that you could even find a correlation with complaints to "success" ratio.

A game both be imperfect or merely above average and be a success as well.

A game be released, yet not be ready for final judgment. This is a work in progress, and likely will be released as one as well.
832  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: July 07, 2013, 06:11:29 PM
For some idiotic reason some of you think that I am trying to hurt you so you get all defensive. Why? Because I ask for a simple financial report? Seriously guys... perpetual amateur hour?
No one thinks you are trying to hurt them, we're just tired of reading the same post over and over.

How many times do we have to read your asking for financial reports?
If I am correct it's part of the questionnaire:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1M7wigyDWjKjabHKdC7msaEfXvYaNxtMbbmTIRss8EqU/viewform?pli=1

Just make sure it gets to the top of the list.

The question about a financial report was included recently, but Friedcat has not responded for a week or so.

Might be worth starting a new thread for your topic. Aside from going off the rails here, you may get other good commenters in an on-topic thread.  Wink

Should be all set now, thanks!
836  Economy / Securities / Re: Buying %25 of ASICMINER share on: July 06, 2013, 10:31:33 PM

I have about 1 bitcoin , I dont know the best offer but is there a place where I can pay for %25 or more of a share? I dont have 2-3 bitcoins to buy these shares.

btct.co

i think its like tat.asicminer or something

do your due diligence however

Why? you have reasons to suspect TAT is dishonest? otherwise doing DD will result in wasted time/effort.

He's just saying to read the contract and make sure you know how things work and what you're buying.

You'd be surprised how many questions I get from people (after buying shares) that would be easily answered by reading the asset description.

Goat, nor anyone, has any reason not to trust me, I assume.
