1521  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] ASICM, a New Micro-share ASICMINER Passthrough! on: May 15, 2013, 03:01:44 PM
Dividends have been scheduled for payment at 0.00034411 per share!

Unfortunately, the system within Havelock doesn't currently support instant payout, so this will clear tomorrow.

Maybe Lightbox can push them sooner?
1522  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] ASICM, a New Micro-share ASICMINER Passthrough! on: May 15, 2013, 02:44:20 PM
i'm still a newbie in this
if i buy one share what profit can i expect?

That is a very loaded question! I suggest you read the description for the asset, and also read up on the underlying company.

This stock does pay weekly dividends, but they fluctuate. The stock value fluctuates as well, so whether you make a profit depends on many factors.

Otherwise, I can say that most people are choosing to invest this company more than any other bitcoin company at the moment. It's for you to judge whether you should as well!

I think ThickAsThieves knows. Looks like his microshares have got dividends ready but I don't know how many microshares there are so IDK the div per share.

https://btct.co/security/TAT.ASICMINER

I haven't paid this weeks divs yet, Friedcat hasn't released them yet. However, I've got my finger on the trigger, ready to pay out!
1524  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: May 14, 2013, 08:50:31 PM
Is there an agreement with Burnside to trade up fractions of shares to full PT shares?

Not at this time. This is something we are considering sorting out in the future, but I can't make any promises just yet.

Wouldn't AM have much more to gain by opening their own exchange to replace gox?

Uhh, that is so far from their specialty. They need to focus on what they are best at. Yes, they should diversify a bit more in the future, but don't underestimate ASICMINER, they are smart cookies.
1526  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] [Bitfunder] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: May 14, 2013, 06:02:01 PM
Looking forward to this so I can take my G.ASICMINER-PT dividends and buy some of your split shares until I have enough for a full share.  Grin

This is a great way to use the asset. Buying the split shares allows for easy reinvestment, and thus compounded interest.
Please be careful with making misleading claims. There is no guarantee for dividends, thus compounding is the wrong terminology. Also reinvestment in this context is problematic, since the funds are not directed towards bitfountain. Instead shareholders automatically re-invest, whenever bitfountain decides to withhold earnings instead of paying dividends. Thus as a shareholder you have no control over reinvestment.

I appreciate your adding insight into the topic, but please do not paint my words as misleading. My prospectus and agreement with shareholders is quite clear that dividends are ultimately under the control of Friedcat and that this asset will mirror any changes in the underlying one.

Shareholders do have full ability to reinvest whatever earned dividends come their way, thus compounding their stake in ASICMINER, and increasing potential future dividends. I suppose this is slightly different than the typical situation someone would use the term "compounded interest", but I can't think of a more accurate way to put it at the moment... Roll Eyes

All investing comes with risk, and this one is no different. I simply provide another instrument for people to invest into this company, and this tool has it's own uses.

I have no desire to "trick" anyone or create any illusions of value. I'm simply providing a service.

Again, thank you for your insight, it is indeed important for people to have perspective about how they invest, and there are many factors at play. A smart investor factors as many of these data points as possible.

There is no such thing as easy money.

I can tell you that Weex doesn't include fees and it's very rare that it causes an issue. However, when I send my own, I ALWAYS include fees. Time is money.

Quick question: Are ASICMINER shares highly liquid? I'm just wondering how to value mine. Currently I am using the 7 day average on BTC-TC as volume is not that high. Are there OTC transactions (e.g. in the forums) moving decent amounts of shares? It looks so but I just want to confirm with everyone in here and get some ideas as to how to do this. Thanks! Smiley

Very hard to call right now. Buying power is decent, but bid books are too thin to support big sell-offs. I am buying OTC in bulk if you need an exit though Wink

I was thinking.
Would it be an idea to set up a blog for ASICMINER.
Just something simple that could be used for publishing freidcat's announcements.

Maybe also announcements from the owners of the various pass-through stocks (TAT, ASICMINER-PT, G.ASICMINER-PT).

The blog wouldn't need to be anything complicated, just a simple wordpress/blogger page.

I'd be happy to set one up if people want and freidcat is OK with this.

Not that this thread isn't awesome, but 290 pages is a lot to wade through.

I agree that it's a lot to wade through, and I've considered doing something similar, but I have some concerns. First is dealing with DDOS and hack attempts...

1535  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO][LTC-GLOBAL] Crypto-trade.com : IPO started! on: May 14, 2013, 02:21:36 AM
who else sees it coming? and i dont mean the launch of the site...

I've been watching the unicorn descend upon us since I read the IPO details months ago.

When it finally hops off the rainbow, in a cloud of glitter and purring kittens, it will be beautiful.

This is kind of backwards... In gambling house makes the money...

I made money ... by selling all my SDICE shares.

Friedcat, can you clarify the plan for increasing ASICMINER's hashing for the next 4 weeks?

When will we see more put online again?

Thank you!
