You get an A+ for responsiveness TAT.
The detailed explanation does clarify some of the thought process behind the decision. Perhaps once the 5000 shares limit is met and ASICM-PT secure a board seat and becomes a fixture in this market the option can be revisited. I can already see how running the PT across the various exchanges and doing a good job at it, takes time.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for saying so, much appreciated.

Thanks for the quick replies TAT.
Regarding the PT shares: Will there be an option in the future for micro-ASICM holders to convert to direct ASICM shares like non-100 PT's work? If this is not currently in the works as another option for our shareholders, what is the rationale behind closing off that option? Assuming the holder had the full 100:1 holding to convert, this would be relatively painless. Indeed, it could open up another revenue source for the fund potentially in moving around from PT to non-PT since each option holds different values to prospective shareholders.
I can see why having the option for shareholders to move in either direction from direct to micro would be a feather in our collective ASICM caps.
Thanks
My pleasure. There are several reasons why this asset does not support import/export of shares or conversion to whole-shares. One is that it would require a lot of work by multiple parties, particularly if low in quantity. The work includes tracking the changes, destroying shares, requesting transfers, verifications, and dealing with any human errors. I also want to avoid adding more work to Friedcat's plate, as we are all lucky enough that he plays along cooperatively with the PTs. I do consider this feature regularly, but it is unlikely I will change this restriction in the short-term. Another reason is that one of the stated goals of this asset is to acquire a board member seat, and exporting shares is counterproductive to that goal. We've already reached 1300+ whole-shares toward the 5000 required, and in a pretty short amount of time. Running this venture at the level that I have been is a full-time job. I know that seems crazy to most, but there is a lot of work involved in juggling deals, fielding questions, and selling at best prices. Fortunately, this is work I am passionate about!

Posting for overc (newbie... can't post in the thread) 293@1.91Quite a large bid for a newbie... In my opinion, the initial auction description should disclaim that it will allow pm bids. Unrepresented bids are shady.

I think someone just cashed out from btc-tc and moved part of their investment on bitfunder where prices were 0.1btc lower until some hours ago.
I think there's someone who wants to keep the stock price under control and not let the new surge of investors throw the price into a parabolic, crashing it and inciting panic. I wonder who this person could be Red bars, trying to balance the incline. Green bars, people getting crazy (and all in between). When there's not much demand it kind of just idle's as people hold their shares for the next incline. There's very little on either side trying to trade this, just holders and occasional sell offs to keep it balanced. For going long it's an investor dream. Cool, someone found my charts useful I like what you did with the bars. Your site/signature needs a tip address

Dooglus, I'd be interested in your feedback on this site in comparison to satoshidice.com. Do you see any interesting pros/cons in contrast? To me it seems straight-up better here.

I think ASICMINER is the greatest Bitcoin investment at the moment, but I also think that the prices are too high right now to invest more than a couple of shares with some risk. About hedging, shareholders can do it on their own with other ASIC companies. I sold about 1/4 of my shares very high yesterday to hedge the risk and buy BASIC-MINING shares with the proceeds. They have an AVALON batch 2 pending delivery and another batch 3 order on the way so I think if you are looking of another mining security with a good potential, that is not overvalued right now, it is worth making it some % of your portofolio on btct.co. And there are others, too. Anyway, it's really nice to see that stock price above 2, and I will hold most of my shares for sure. I just wouldn't buy more at the current price. But I wouldn't call you silly if you did What you did isn't a hedge, it's selling one thing to buy something else that is less valuable. Where's the hedge aspect?

I wish BFL would just start selling batches of chips like Avalon so we could make our own rigs with the freelance work that is already underway with the Avalon chip batches.
I ordered a BFL but all I got was this lousy unicorn. Did you name it Jalapeno? I named it Inaba, of course.

Then, why didn't he sell them on btct?
Because there aren't enough bids to support selling 575 shares on any of the exchanges, and doing so, even slowly, would depress the price quickly. Doing an auction allows for a better price, assuming market demand is there.

they were at 14 tera some time ago
they are selling their blades 50btc each that do about 10 to 13gigahash each. They are getting ready for their 200T chip order. 200T chips? Where can I find info on this? Release plans? Price? They aren't selling chips, they are putting 200TH+ online in their own mining farm in the next 4-6 weeks.

a share cost 0.02, payed with dividend of 1/150 = 0.0003 in max 48 hours, this mean that roi is 150 days at least, did i understand this right?
Hmm I'm not sure, can someone confirm? The dividends are weekly, with some additional incidental dividends occasionally (ASICMINER has hinted at larger deal they may make which will be reported quarterly). This is not your normal mining bond or fund, so calculating ROI on dividends is less required if share value maintains or increases, as you might be able to sell your position at profit after several weeks/months of collecting dividends. Normal mining assets depreciate in value over time, which is less likely with ASICMINER because they also sell hardware and have committed to adding another 1000TH+ of self-hashing by the end of the year. If they reach their goals, a share in ASICMINER will likely grow much faster in hashrate-owned-per-share than any other mining stock on the market. The last dividend includes sales for 180 hardware units sold at 50btc each. They have since been selling those same units made-to-order. They also have 10,000 USB Miner units they have been selling in bulk. There are many things that can affect this stock and its dividend yield over time, but for now it's a cut above most bitcoin investment opportunities. Do your research, and make a plan for your investments.
