Where can one see how many share you own?

Users can see their share counts on the portfolio page.

If you mean me personally, I would love to be able to share my portfolio.  (BTC-TC supports flagging your portfolio as public for just this purpose.  It's in the Account: Settings section.)  However... if I share my portfolio it'd be an unwitting promotion/demotion of the assets I hold and/or do not hold.  So I'll just tell you, right now I hold 190 shares and I voted YES on all three motions.  Wink

Cheers.

Sorry, i was a bit unclear in my wording... i meant the first change in rules. The fee comes into game when your owning of shares drops below 51%. But for determine if a fee will apply one needs to know whats the status there isnt it?

Ahhh!  Right!  There'd be a big announcement and a mass email if/when that ever changes, along with enough warning that you could shift your shares out if you really wanted to.

I will be honest and state that LTC-GLOBAL is open to investment and I am not set on keeping a controlling percentage.  I feel like it'd be better for the exchange, the other shareholders, and bitcoin in general if we could distribute ownership across people in several offshore countries.  Nothing is currently in the works though.

Cheers.

I think there might be some confusion about 51% ownership referring to ownership of AM PT shares versus ownership of the actual exchange.

ASICMINER won't consider changing anything unless the USBs aren't selling well as-is. Just wait it out if you aren't happy with the current offering, AM knows what to do.
1606  Economy / Securities / Re: [NOW LIVE!] [BTC-TC] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: May 05, 2013, 02:18:54 AM
We're live! Some shares have been released and can be purchased at https://btct.co/security/TAT.ASICMINER
1607  Economy / Securities / Re: [NOW LIVE!] [Bitfunder] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough on: May 04, 2013, 09:55:37 PM
So far, dividends have been paid weekly.
1608  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCTC][[ASICMINER-PT]] - Public trading of ASICMINER shares on: May 04, 2013, 08:26:02 PM
Well I'm game. Just bought 1 share in ASICMINER-PT. Now let's see if I can dice up my share into small derivatives, roll those into like 100 different packages, and resell them on Wall Street. Oh wait, didn't someone do that with subprime mortgages already? [/sarcasm]

I do think buying shares of a mining corporation, and collecting dividends may be the future of BTC as ASICs slowly trickle into the hands of a select few. Too bad I'm only owning a pass-thru share, so someone already skims a bit off the top. But if BTC can be split into 0.00000001 pieces, why not shares of pass-thru? Then why not shares of the pass-pass-thru, and resell, and resell ... you get the idea.

This is already sorta happening Smiley

I have a fractional version of the ASICMINER passthrough up for vote on BTCT.co. It is also already available one one of the other exchanges too!
1609  Economy / Securities / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] [BTC-TC] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: May 04, 2013, 08:24:33 PM
BTC-TC Admin's Note:  TAT and I are linked up on linked in.  I have TAT's number and have talked with TAT on the phone.

This is not a promotion of the offering, just stating that TAT was willing to give up his number and undergo a very brief interview.

Cheers.

We only need one more vote to get this going!
1610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB on: May 04, 2013, 06:36:30 PM
It's also possible that all this added mining difficulty contributes to the price of BTC/USD going up. This would make mining bitcoins specifically more valuable than altcoins, and hashpower more valuable.

Just adding another angle for y'all to chew on...

Why can't someone else just make a litecoin dice game? Maybe one already exists?
1612  Economy / Securities / Re: [NOW LIVE!] [Bitfunder] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough on: May 04, 2013, 02:28:47 PM
So if the shares were issued yesterday, why aren't the holders getting yesterday's dividends?

divdends went out may 1st.

Thanks, Arklan.

The decision to go live after dividends was quite intentional. I did not want confusion.

Also, I figured if I waited til after, then maybe some people that already owned shares would have some loose coin to spend buying the new fractional shares Smiley
1613  Economy / Securities / Re: [NOW LIVE!] [Bitfunder] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough on: May 04, 2013, 09:58:17 AM
Because dividends were issued a whole day earlier.
1614  Economy / Securities / Re: [NOW LIVE!] [Bitfunder] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough on: May 04, 2013, 02:54:32 AM
Hey TAT, when will the first dividends be passed?  What is our starting date?  Because DeadTerra's shares got the 5/2 div's.  Just wondering, thanks man.

Dividends will start right after the next time Friedcat issues them, which should be next Wednesday/Thursday.

I'm committed to passing that dividend to shareholders as quickly as possible, but please note that I have built in 48-hour padding to the contract just in case something unexpected slows me down.

Also, if Friedcat issues any extra "surprise" dividends, those will be passed on the same way.

How long have you held the shares?  I'm trying to figure out what they're worth from a valuation/pricing perspective to figure out how many more to buy and at what price.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I've held some of the shares longer than others  Smiley

I'd suggest taking a look at the whole market and where you think it is going to assess the value, as it will surely fluctuate. Also, the fact that these shares are fractional may or may not lead to them going at a premium, but other factors might offset that too. My suggestion is to have a plan for your BTC, a projection for dividends, a projection for share value, and a decision about how long you intend to hold your shares based on that factor.

Right now the price is untested and will likely move some before it settles. Even I'm not 100% sure what to buy and sell shares for this week, but generally I take comfort in the fact that AM continues to surprise and appease the bitcoin community. This is quite evident by the mood in the official AM thread.

All of these things not only affect value in general, but the value in relation to YOUR portfolio.

Erik,

There is a new cost charged for April: 'SatoshiRoller IP rights'

I was under the impression SD owned the IP rights themselves. How high will these IP costs be over time?

The IP cost mentioned in April's expenses was a one-time fee paid to the developer for all future rights to the IP of the apps. It is not a recurring cost.

I had previously paid for the apps to be built and used by SD, but not the rights (this enabled me to get an attractive price). I have plans for the apps, thus I wanted to close this loose end.

When will you be adding some kind of user accounts on the website, and instant betting? If you don't, someone else will...

As soon as I can.

But isn't that the allure of Satoshi dice and bitcoin, that you don't need an account?

It can be both ways. Let the users choose how they roll.

1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC-GLOBAL] LTC-ATF on: May 03, 2013, 07:59:54 PM
I'm a small shareholder at the moment, but I just want to say two things:

1. I support the motion, but I'd also be open to finding new ways for you use that LTC to invest and make profit for the fund. The fact is you are good at this, and that's the true waste in sitting on that LTC.
2. I do not support any loaning of assets.

I've racked my brain repeatedly trying to find ways to use the spare LTC - and there's really no LTC-denominated uses for it.  There's still a fair few securities on LTC-Global that can be profitably traded but the trade volume is too low to use more than we already utilise.  Any use for them has to be LTC-denominated (in practice not just by some vague definition), has to be clearly profitable and has to provide decent liquidity.  Not much meets all those criteria.

On loans the proposal wasn't to loan assets but to loan actual LTC - secured against securities held by the borrowers (which would be held in accounts under my control until the loans were repaid).  But there's really no securities on LTC-Global that are reliable AND can maintain a pretty steady price when LTC sky-rockets (as nearly all are largely or entirely denominated in BTC/USD for all practical purposes).  Only asset I could fairly safely conisder taking as collateral would be LTC-ATF itself (and doubt many of our investors need or want loans anyway).  Without collateral there's no way I'd want to loan out any of our cash - it's just not worth the risk it for the fairly small returns.  Hence the loan idea pretty much getting scrapped (I'd consider raising the idea again it if someone holding a significant number of LTC-ATF units requested a loan to be secured against them).

Apologies, I was using the term "assets" loosely to mean the LTC being sat on too. I just don't like loans is all. I see the quandary, and I think it points to a larger problem with LTC not serving much of a purpose without BTC to lean on.
