Just a head's up that today's dividend is larger than I anticipated so I will need to wait for the real divs to clear in order to do payout.

Just a head's up that today's dividend may not be the faster-than-friedcat speed you are used to. I'll see what I can do, but it depends how large it is and how quickly the root dividends clear to me Smiley

Thanks!

Shareholders get one Satoshi per share.
what's the dividend today?

.00000001 it looks like.

All shares confirmed, thanks!

The delivered status was frozen for what seemed like forever well it is no longer frozen.
yeah, but the backlog is enormous.  those units were ordered last June/July.

How can that possibly be competition for products that are ordered this week, shipped this week?

While I agree, there is indeed some crossover. Your average bitcoiner is not only ignorant enough to compare BFL's offering with AM's and choose BFL, despite uncertain shipdates, but they are also ignorant enough to not even know AM blades exist. BFL does better marketing, that is a fact.
1209  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] TAT.VIRTUALMINE - IPO at 12PM EST - Early Bidding is Open on: June 05, 2013, 01:38:49 PM
TAT, difficulty will be 15M 1-2 hours before the dividend.
What will be the dividend difficulty computed then, the 12M or 15M? or 90% 12M and 10% 15M?

This is in the contract, the dividend used the difficulty from 12PM EST the day before.

The board had a meeting yesterday. friedcat is doing well and is very busy with growing the company.

I understand some of you guys want more information, but releasing information has to fit with the strategy of the company, which means that sometimes things are progressing in a secretive manner. Of course this doesn't help with investment decisions.

I recommend that the PT operators or willing board members should compile questions from smaller investors and feed them to friedcat in a structured manner. Maybe the replies could be organized as a FAQ. He simply doesn't have time to dig through the forum and answer questions here.

I would be willing to take on this task, perhaps even do this on a monthly basis. Please PM me with questions you would like friedcat to address, with the subject line "ASICMiner FAQ". I will compile them and send it to him. As previously mentioned, friedcat may not answer the question if he deems that it may divulge Bitfountain's strategy/plan to competitors.

Franktank, if you are up for it, I would like to help moderate the list of what is actually submitted to Friedcat as questions. I just think it'll take 2 or 3 people with their heads on straight to edit this and make sure it's digestible.

Sometimes I got up and I think it would be nice to dump like 250 shares on btct just to see the reaction, I will do it on of these days.

Give me a head's up, so I can post bids.
1212  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 05, 2013, 11:51:14 AM
Then they need to drop the price and get ahead of the curve.  Just remember they had to lower the stick sale from 300 to 50 to sell them. Selling hardware and mining with hardware is how this company grew. Well the hardware was being produced sold and used better then anyone else in the game. We all laughed at BFL can't even make a jally work not shipping ha ha ha.
Why on earth would they do that?

Continue selling Blades at 50 BTC and USB sticks at 2 BTC as long as the market wants to pay that.

When competitors undercut those prices for immediate delivery, then should the prices be lowered.

That is a subtlety I disagree with. In order for AM to always be the leader, they actually need to always lower prices at least a couple weeks BEFORE their competitors sell a competitive offering.

When can we expect TAT.VIRTUALMINE shares on BTCT.CO Huh

When BTCTC fixes its application system.

Popcorn instead of chips?

Maybe he wants to drop some el-beez.

I am done sold all my shares.  Thanks for a fun 3 months and 30 coins of profit. Good luck selling sticks at 2 coins a piece.

BFL has now shipped more then 100 jallys .   More shipping today.

hmm 2 coins = 333MH hash vs 2.5 coins = 5GH hash  read the hand writing.  Take your profits and go on vacation from the btc world. In two weeks the word will be out that bfl has shipped 500 to 1000 working jallys. current price of 2.5 BTC will get you 5Gh of hash.

Are you talking about the same BFL? I am cranking all my hypothetically delivered BFL mining rigs but they are not producing any coins!

If only you were correct  their jallys are shipping and more quickly then anyone that is only AM would like.  So this puts a lot of strain on anyone with a shitload of AM stock.  I am a small guy under 500 coins earned since August of last year most sold at under 30 USD.  The facts are BFL has shipped a  decent amount of jallys in the last 10 days.   IF they do this for 10 more days  the price of AM has to tumble a lot.  Even at the new high price of 3.2 coins for the hi end 7gh model or the low model at 2.5 coins for 5gh AM is just not in the same league.

 https://forums.butterflylabs.com/blogs/

the latest blog has orders of jallys up to July 3rd that is more then 120 jallys.

1 jally is about 16 AM usb sticks.

BFL price 2.5 BTC   AM price 32BTC  both = 5Gh hash.

When BFL had a handful of orders shipped if was funny Well it is not a handful any more.

I bailed on my AM if I am correct I will get it at a much lower price in a few weeks.  If wrong I still made 30 coins profit. Since the sticks came out I always said there are overpriced.  Well how long before the sticks will need to go to .5 coins to sell. Not very long.

This is not FUD just look at the shipping blog for bfl since may 23rd. 1 month from today and BFL may have 2000 to 3000 jallys shipped this will really kill usb stick sales.

Of course maybe I am wrong and bfl will slow the jallys back down to a trickle.  I may be all about the FUD.

The sky is not falling yada yada yada.

You are missing a big part of the puzzle. Can you order from BFL and get your hardware in a few days? No. You have to wait until alllllll these old orders get filled. None of these old orders compete with AM.

2. Another person expresses that they simply will not approve a bond that is not guaranteed to pay out full ROI. First, I can easily argue that ALL bond assets present this risk. Furthermore, what I am providing is a dynamic and speculative instrument. This is not just a case of putting in X dollars, and knowing you will get X+Y% back on a specified date. Almost none of the bonds in bitcoin work that way anyway.

I never wrote "guaranteed". The point is that you don't intend to ever repay the bond's face value (if it had one). That is typical for "perpetual mining bonds", and it is one reason that I typically vote against them. The other reason is that they generally lose money because the value of the bond goes to 0 and the dividends are typically not enough cover the depreciation of the bond.

It don't think the fact that it is a "dynamic and speculative instrument" (which is not how you portray it), or that you call it a "callable structured note" makes it any more suitable as an investment (BTW, "callable" is bad for bond owners, and "structured" means complicated and, in this case, risky).

Either way, you only need a few more votes and it has only been a few days.

The issue is that only about 6 people currently vote at all, so it becomes that much more important to establish what the justifiable standards are for approving an asset. I'd prefer to have 0 No votes, even if I didn't need every vote anyway.

Let me ask you a question. If a standard for allowing an asset of any kind: stock, bond, note, fund, etc, is whether it will ever reach 100% ROI, wouldn't the great majority of assets fail this test? Furthermore, in the cases where this is obviously possible, how often do you think any shareholder actually holds assets long enough to see them through to their potential 100% ROI?

My asset description is quite transparent, and quite clear. There is no confusion about how it is being portrayed, nor any attempt at deception. I think you are voting against it simply because you want to assume a role of protecting any investor too ignorant to use it successfully. But it is not for you to make decisions for investors. Your role is to vet me as an issuer, the contract's clarity, my asset's viability, and whether the offering stands to benefit the shareholders of LTCG. It is my assessment that your vote is in contrast with those values.

The fact remains that there are indeed ways to use this asset to make gains, even if you ignore the real possibility that difficulty could stagnate or go down at some point in the future.

There is also a hidden benefit within this offering in that it provides a vehicle to correct the mining asset market down to the prices I have established as the minimum the market and my risk can bear. This actually indirectly makes money for shareholders through the ironic incidence that they are already paying and losing too much with their current BTCTC mining investments.

There are also ways to play this asset by timely reinvestment and exiting at the right time. As the asset ages, and likely depreciates, newly issued bonds will continue to be offered at even more affordable prices, allowing me to set the market rate for 1MH/s in perpetuity.

These are just some of the ways this instrument can work. There is a real utility and service to be provided here, regardless of whether you would personally invest in it, or whether you think others should speculate on it.

Just as an FYI, I have offered to do escrow for JSMill if his bid wins any shares, since it seems John K is unavailable at the moment.

I've been debating whether to get into the escrow game anyway Smiley
