Will the new bitcoin client cause a problem for ASICMINER by limiting dust transactions or can ASICMINER now relay their own Satoshi size transactions?
Well, they can, but they should really stop spamming the blockchain regardless :/ Spamming the blockchain? Asicminer do it once a week, in a big transaction... go blame SDice for spam. Asicminers usage of satoshies/dust at least has real utility. It's a matter of principle, and regardless of how often it happens, it's spam. The blockchain isn't supposed to transmit arbitrary data like "you own that many shares" or "it's xx degrees here in florida". I'd argue the blockchain is supposed to do whatever people can do with it. Anything unwanted is a design flaw, not a user flaw.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox Dwolla account frozen by DHS

You need to use international bank transfer now to get funds from Gox to the US. It's about $20 per transfer. I pulled all my BTC out of Mt. Gox and traded on Camp BX instead. Camp BX seems much better, and it supports Dwolla, too. (I'm sure DHS will eventually seize Camp BX's Dwolla account, too, though…) Unlikely, CampBX is now a registered MSB.

I had a whole reply put together on my laptop and the battery died, so I'm stuck retyping this on my phone. Here's what happened: Div 1: scheduled Div 1: started processing a minute later Div 1: cancelled (~10 mins after it started processing) Div 2: scheduled Div 1: completed Div 2: completed The cancel failed because the div was already being processed. I have fixed the system so you can now see when a div is in progress and it will not cancel. I have reimbursed TAT for the double div and I have initiated a recovery process whereby anyone that received a double dividend will see a balance reduction of whichever was the lesser of the two dividends. This way no one gets burned if they traded between when the first div processed and when the second div processed. The site's going to lose ~1 BTC on this bug, but hopefully this resolution is as fair as possible to everyone involved. Cheers Thanks Burnside, I knew I could count on you to not only solve this, but do so cleanly and professionally!

It would appear the "glitch" in double dividends on TATs pass-throughs was he clicked "pay" twice. The website may have said CANCELLED and then paid it anyway, but he clicked twice.
In light of that, is there any reason to withhold dividends for the full pass-throughs?
To clear things up: 1. I didn't accidentally click twice, it was an honest limitation of the software that led to the error. It has been resolved and should never happen again. 2. No one withheld any dividends because of this, ASICMINER-PT is entirely independent of TAT.ASICMINER, There is always some delay in getting your dividends for ASICMINER-PT (usually less than 24 hours).

Calculating the projected profit on today's difficulty is the only was to get an idea of what the profit might be.
I fully disclose that the difficulty may increase or decrease in the future and the projected profit is an estimate.
how about you assume something modest, like 15% difficulty increase per month? How is that any better, what if something happen and the difficulty went down, nobody really know what the difficulty is going to do. Seems to me to just calculate it at what we know and make a disclosure that the difficulty may go up or may go down in the future and these are just estimates. You are a hideous human being. Name one reasonable indicator that difficulty will go down. On top of that, name one scenario where difficulty goes down and btc/usd rate doesn't go down with it. Even if you could make reasonable examples, they would pale in comparison to the indicators that say difficulty will go up. FOR EXAMPLE: IF YOU PUT 5.6TH ONLINE, GUESS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE NETWORK DIFFICULTY...

Burnside should reimburse TAT for the glitch in his system and say it's a gift for using BTCTC This is the only answer that makes sense. However, just deducting the amount from peoples accounts also makes sense. Actually, it could well be that none of these two make sense. - "A glitch" is not precise enough to know whose fault it is. Not necessarily Burnside's. Anyone as experienced and careful as TAT can make mistakes sometimes. By example submitting divs payment, ending up on a blank page and reload the page. Just an example of course, but it could happen to anyone, it's human ! - Deducting the amount makes sense only if btct has been designed and tested to handle negative balances. And believe me, this kind of software, these kind of pieces of code, have to be very thoroughly tested. You cannot just think "well, it works great for $a >= 0, and $a are floats, so -$a is certainly correctly handled. Any rounding error, negative unsafe division, negative unsafe condition... anything could go wrong if it wasn't designed and tested specifically for this use case. And we don't want burnside to lose a lot of btc because of a sneaky bug. Anyway, I'll follow TAT closely and reimburse my divs happily, he's doing great and I wish him and burnside the best in this issue ! I can assure you the glitch is one that occurred due to the software. Thank you all for offering to help, I just need to wait for Burnside to handle the resolution.

I guess with the 5% fee on the PT, you can afford it.
lol, Do you realize that I haven't made 13.8btc from all the 5% dividends in 4 weeks combined since I opened shop? I also had application fees of 5btc on BTCT. I'm not saying I don't make a profit, but please understand how small 5% div-mgmt fee really is.

Anyone else get double divs on the TAT PT?
A glitch in the payment system caused the dividend to go out twice. This coin did come from my pocket, so I ask that you please hold onto the extra amount for now. I am waiting on Burnside to decide the best way to resolve this. Please note that a snapshot of all accounts was taken, so we can separate who owned shares at the time. Please make this easy to resolve by sitting tight. Thank you! I believe the best way is just deduct them out of future dividends. No, this would not work because it would punish new shareholders and not affect anyone that sold their shares. Don't worry, I trust that Burnside will decide what's best!

Economy / Securities / Re: What's the difference between S.DICE-PT and GSDPT?

on: May 29, 2013, 06:23:00 PM

I'm new to buying shares and would like to buy a few in SatoshiDice. They both payout 95% of what's listed on MPEX, yet GSDPT is asking 0.00348 BTC while S.DICE-PT is asking 0.002967 BTC.
Is there any difference between the two apart from the price?
No difference, other than that they are run by two different people.
