762  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 🔥 Bitcoin Accepted Store Spotted 🔥 on: January 29, 2024, 01:35:17 AM
For restaurants, we recommend:
- Steampunk
- Meze Wrap
- Laketown
- 2 Brown Boys
- Aplaya
- Royal Indian Curry House (RICH)
763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC security on: January 28, 2024, 08:22:48 AM
1. Those using Trezor, what additional security they can do to make sure they are safe apart from trezor PIN
Don't tell anybody that doesn't need to know that you've got a Trezor wallet, in fact it's a good practice to learn all you need to know about setting up a Trezor wallet instead of asking a person how to set up one so you're comfortable knowing that no one knows that you've got a Trezor wallet. Shutting up about why you've got this bitcoin or crypto related stuff is the best thing that you can do.
2. It sounds weird but when one creates 12 keys in any btc wallet then either user knows his 12 words or this wallet knows these 12 words.
Is it it possible to hack this 12 word from btc wallet software.
I don't think it's possible if it's brute forcing each word from the seed phrase, I mean it's doable but you're more likely to see the death of the universe than ever seeing that from happening because it takes a long time to do so.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Want To Invest Money From My Inheritance In Bitcoin, But? on: January 28, 2024, 07:25:03 AM
Condolences. Now for your dilemma, I think that you shouldn't do what your brothers want because I might be wrong but they'll probably try to trick you out of that when the time for the profit taking comes, that's the thing that will likely happen. They give a small amount of say 1k for example and you invest all of your inheritance, they will probably think that when it comes time to sell, that the split will be 1/3 for each so you end up with less even though you've got the biggest share of the investment. That's all that I can say to this and try to tell them that it's better if they just do the investing on their own and not mix their money with yours so there's no confusion for everyone, good use of the money but you're better off with your father still around  Cry.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: January 28, 2024, 06:38:45 AM
To me, learning when to stop your gambling is the best thing that you can do if you're the emotional kind of gambler. That's probably the key, you can enjoy it for how long you want and with the ability to be able to stop when you want to stop then, you're probably going to get that fun feeling within you of having a sense of control over the things that you're doing and it will go towards your other things, you will become a better person overall. You also need to learn when to stop when it comes to winning, it will depend on you, if you want to stop at X times of plays before you quit or you have to win X amounts of money before you quit, the choice is entirely yours as both choice is dependent on what game you're playing, you can't really quit at X times with slots, you want to do X amounts there to satisfy your gambling craving so be smart about what you need to do and you will be fine.
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 28, 2024, 05:38:48 AM
If you could afford to gamble but spend too much time that could be considered a problem.  I'd only rate big problem when its somebody who is ignoring the reality of their game somehow, if you can still handle each loss and accept a win may not repeat with every the possibility then you are on the level.  I've spent all day gambling in the past and its not been a massive problem because I didnt go past my budget, it was some winnings some loss with no idea that somehow I had to stack them all together or bet bigger each time just took some interest in each bet placed and it was fine
Anything that's in excess is almost always a bad thing in my opinion so if there's a moderation in what you do and you get out of it at a reasonable duration, I think that you're fine and the gambling that you're doing is going to be just fine. For though, there's no white or black when it comes to addiction, that something good can come out of addiction is probably not something I often think about, I think that addiction is almost always a bad thing to happen. To me, addiction is just like poverty, it's only romantic when it's on book or movie, in a grounded realism, it's gross and you don't want to put yourself in that position deliberately because once your in, it's not going to be like the one in the books.
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 28, 2024, 04:56:59 AM
Not lead but I do believe that it will amplify the tendency towards violence, any kind of addiction does that anyway, you've got a bad brain inhibitions for your emotions so you're more prone to outburst of emotions and not thinking logically due to your addiction being your only fixation. For me, it's not that addiction is going to be the cause but when someone's already a violent person from the start, they're likely to go to that point anyway no matter if they're addicted or not, addiction will just expedite that process. But I do believe in the opposite too that it can cause violence to other people that are otherwise nonviolent in nature, anger is an emotion after all and as I've said, that addiction is a good at lowering your inhibitions.
768  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: January 28, 2024, 03:41:01 AM
Hey welcome to the forum, you're one of the few casinos that's new but at the same time didn't cheap out when it comes to their ANN thread and I respect that you're doing that because some aren't doing that but they do an average effort and some also don't even try, just dropping the website link and that's it but you've gone beyond that so it's worth some appreciation. Hope that you find your customers here and be prosperous with your business.

770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL and XRP have the highest market capture? on: January 28, 2024, 02:58:17 AM

they are not going away. but should we not consider them altcoins?

people are using Tether to trade BTC. we can't afford to crash this one or else the whole crypto market will crash. people including the large institutions are up to using it since it protects them from volatility. USDT could have been prosecuted by the SEC but seems they let it slide and pointed their finger at BUSD.
XRP has the richest team that fights back SEC.
I didn't know that Tether has that much influence or even that big of a deal wow! I just thought that it's a stablecoin that's used to make sure that people can use crypto as if they're just trading with money, can Tether really crash the crypto market? I guess my pea brain can't comprehend that it can do something that big and downright catastrophic. I don't think it's because of they want to point finger because they need to make some prosecution but more like they want to eliminate Tether's big competition and in the current scenario, it's BUSD that's making a problem. What exactly is the reason why XRP is fighting back against SEC? I don't know what started it so I'm curious.
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple looking for ETF, would it be the second one? on: January 28, 2024, 02:34:08 AM
How do you believe the SEC will approve all altcoins? Even Ethereum is struggling to get approval but still delays dates. In this situation, don't expect any other altcoin to approve ETF. I believe the SEC will probably monitor the market for Bitcoin ETFs. If they feel it is positive for their citizens, they might approve the ETF. Otherwise, don't expect any new ETFs from the SEC. They delayed the ETF until March for ETH, and we have to wait to see the result. After ETH approval, we may see a real-time situation.
It's so unlikely because look at what happened with bitcoin, the submission of the companies that want to do bitcoin ETF was taking so long and at the same time it was grueling especially when the decisions have been deliberated and those decisions were full of delays and declining and appeals and that took a long time, now consider that when it comes to altcoin ETFs that so full of shitcoins that's unlikely to even go up or even maintain it's growth like bitcoin, I do hope though that we get to see an ETH ETF but it shouldn't be something that I should obsess over too much, there's process and it's good that we let it flow.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about this Great Project ? on: January 28, 2024, 01:55:21 AM
Sooner or later, everyone will know about it if it's interesting enough, but I'm completely skeptical about the OP's hype about this project, I know about the project but it's not in the scope of my assessment. High price among upcoming projects (mid-range).
When it comes to altcoin projects, everyone knows about it and will find it interesting enough when it's already too late and a lot of people has already the potential profit to already get out of the project and leave the latecomers hanging alone. I too am skeptical because this is the 2nd post on the account and it's weird that this is the first thing that they do like how are you not trying to learn everything you can in the forum in Beginners and Meta? To anyone that wants to check out this project, be careful as it's likely that this is a scam and there's close to zero information that OP has given to us.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has Airdrop season begun? on: January 27, 2024, 09:59:56 AM
I don't think it ever ended, all throughout the year, a lot of projects (scam or legitimate) have been doing airdrops and so far, I don't think that there's ever going to be an end of these activity because there's a lot of people that's participating in them. Maybe what we should be looking out for is the profit season for airdrops because that's one that isn't a forever thing and that it's even uncertain that it will come every year. I feel like I haven't ever seen my X account ever losing notifications about a recent airdrop.
774  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Island in the Philippines. on: January 27, 2024, 09:26:29 AM
I visited Boracay on one of my business trips. It is definitely beautiful and the weather was wonderful, especially since the weather in my country is very hot. However, their acceptance of Bitcoin, although it is a good step, I do not expect to spend with Bitcoin on my tourist trips, especially with the limited places that accept payment in Bitcoin, but it is a good step.
I just hope that they will be accepted using Bitcoin wallets and not through third-party applications, or that they will convert Bitcoin to dollars by the end of the day.
You should come back again some time, there's more islands that are worth seeing and less touristy compared to Boracay that you might like. With all the tourists pouring in Boracay and it's nearby province, I do agree that it's a good idea that they're considering that when it comes to bitcoin adoption, I assume that this is an experiment so if ever the case that the Bitcoin Island becomes a success hopefully the local government would be able to see it and at the same time consider starting an implementation for a nationwide bitcoin adoption because if it can help by 1% then imagine what it can do if the whole country adopts what they propose in Boracay.
775  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 27, 2024, 08:44:11 AM
Big tip for anyone that wants to try it out, do a self-assessment, what you're constantly or consistently doing right now could possibly be a good starting point for you choose a passion or a skill to learn, for example, you're having fun reading then you're probably better off finding and learning skills that's closely related to that hobby which is reading, maybe you can apply as a teacher, a storyteller, a writer or maybe even an editor. That's a big step imo, self-assessment combined with your will to learn a new skill, then you'll be doing fine.
776  Economy / Economics / Re: China's economy is very sick. What to prepare for? on: January 27, 2024, 08:06:10 AM
Prepare to laugh at the CCP because they're the architect of their own demise and their corruption is what lead to all of this happening, building condominiums and then demolishing them the next day because no one can afford real estate there and the continuous suppression of information because they don't want to look weak to their neighbors and the desire to reclaim Taiwan when they could've focused on doing the right thing and removing Xi Jinping from power because he's slowly gathering loyalists in the government and soon, it's going to be a totalitarian mess and we've seen what happens to an economy that's totalitarian, it's always in shambles. I hope that the people all over the country of China start something like a revolution but for the better because they're the ones that's going to suffer in all of this if this continues.
777  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 27, 2024, 07:24:36 AM
Thank goodness that this has been instilled to me when I was still young by a lot of people all throughout my childhood, they really know what they're talking about because with all the money that I've saved through the years, I'm happy that I took the advice to the heart, I can eat wherever I want and go to places that I want without any worry about how much money I'd be spending. The only thing that I'd like to add to all of this is that we should also consider investing instead of just saving, that way the money that we set aside grows instead of just being on a standstill in terms of value plus you're defeating inflation when you're investing.
778  Economy / Economics / Re: richdad poordad has no more guide after achieving freedom on: January 27, 2024, 06:28:17 AM
They're not the rules anyway so either you read it or not, the best thing to do is to just read a book, absorb the information, assess what you've absorbed, sift through what you think is right and what you think is wrong and then formulate your own or improve your own philosophy, that's what anyone should be doing when it comes to reading, you're not supposed to worship or follow anything blindly and always base your way of living on what you want to learn and read. That's why Rich Dad, Poor Dad works in some cases, it doesn't force you to learn by heart, it tells you stories to arrive at your own conclusion. When it comes to achieving freedom though, I don't think that's the right book to read or maybe even, the way to achieve true freedom hasn't been written yet.
