781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 19, 2023, 05:10:54 AM
Gambling can indeed be entertaining, especially if you are already wealthy and you can afford to lose a large amount of money. For a large percentage of gamblers, perhaps even a majority, their purpose for gambling is because they dream of getting that big win that can make their life easier. If you are no longer getting any entertainment value then it is worth considering quitting to prevent this from becoming a destructive habit. At the very least you should step back and analyze the best way to allocate your resources.

You should contact their support according to their FAQ. They’re a shady website who doesn’t seem to care about their reputation so there is no guarantee they will actually give you proper assistance and help resolve your problem.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: September 17, 2023, 06:55:02 PM
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jun/28/ads-for-online-gambling-should-be-banned-in-australia-within-three-years-inquiry-recommends

If this should be implemented will it affect bitcointalk casinos? As we all know most established and new casinos come to bitcointalk to launch their ANN thread and carry out signature promotion campaigns which can be regarded as ads in a sense. If ads should be banned will their promotion in Bitcointalk also end?

Australian laws should have no effect on a global forum. I don't see how they can enforce this in their country without resorting to widespread censorship of the internet. Gambling ads are everywhere. Maybe they will just ban gambling entirely, that way even if a user clicks on an ad or visits a casino site after watching a video ad the domain will be blocked by their ISP.
784  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A smart self-custodial wallet for bitcoin on: September 17, 2023, 06:29:01 PM
Not everything needs to be dumbed down and be grandma friendly. Certain advanced features should require some technical knowledge to minimize user error that can lead to loss of funds. There are already some wallets that have encrypted cloud backups. This is intended to be user friendly but this can result in carelessness by giving users the impression that the cloud is a safe place for storing your seed phrase.
785  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitDice Robbed Investors? CSNO lost 80% value on: September 16, 2023, 07:54:38 PM
Quick post with some new information/update for anyone interested.

BoXXoB has come back to being active on the forum and has since been hired to promote a new casino called l0tt0.com who has a mysterious owner (dewez) with a vague (and very innocently described) background, he also happens to not care about the background of BoXXoB due to his unbased, blind trust toward him.

Thread: L0tt0.com. I have asked questions in that thread for some information.

Whether or not BoXXoB is innocent in not knowing about the scam as he describes, I still believe he should have at least some accountability due to the weight he obviously carried in promoting this scam, and his ignorance/negligence throughout the entire process of it becoming a scam.

I looked through that l0tt0 thread and the replies were expectedly dissapointing. People are so terrified of being excluded from future signature campaigns managed by this person that they will either white knight for him and the casino or just look the other way. Very few people are actually willing to call out questionable behavior when they feel there is risk of losing out on a payday. Those that do speak out end up getting trolled and gaslighted.
786  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: September 16, 2023, 06:38:25 PM
@swogerino, @Fivestar4everMVP and @Saint-loup
I realized what made the freebitcoin website unable to be accessed easily in recent days because it turned out that this casino was included in a website that was blocked by my ISP so I had to access it via VPN to be able to access it perfectly.

All sites containing gambling would be blocked by almost all ISPs in my country. Usually when a site is blocked a positive internet notification will appear but using Brave Browser the notification doesn't appear so I don't know that it has been blocked.

After being a member of this casino for quite a long time, freebitcoin was one of the casinos that could be accessed without a VPN, but now that's not the case anymore, and because FBIN is very VPN friendly, there are no worries about using a VPN.

It might be possible to get around a website block by changing the default DNS servers from the ones assigned by your ISP to something like Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 or Google's 8.8.8.8.

The site have been pretty good for me as well, I mean; I can access the site perfectly and it loads just as fast as every other site I am visiting or accessing, but the only problem I am always and contacting having in the last few days is the free roll, each time I open the site and click on the free roll to claim some btc sats, I get this error message telling me that someone else have already played the free roll from my IP address; and I am to wait another one hour or sometimes, over 30 minutes to try again .

Many users experience this problem due to having a shared IP address. Maybe try connecting through your cellular network instead of your home internet or vice versa. If the problem is with your home internet then you can try asking your provider if they can give you a unique static IP.

787  Economy / Economics / Re: World economy is now being powered by cryptocurrencies. on: September 16, 2023, 05:04:46 PM
Cryptocurrency is not powering the global economy and nothing in this brief essay you wrote shows evidence of that. There are only a handful of public blockchains which would be suitable for global adoption but they all face serious scaling issues. As you mentioned, cryptocurrency can offer many benefits and that is why it has been considered by banks and governments but as time passes it seems like they are more likely to develop their own permissioned, centralized digital currencies. These CBDCs might borrow ideas from cryptocurrency but they have removed everything that makes them appealing like fungibility and censorship resistance.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 16, 2023, 03:34:48 PM
Do you guys think that those people who are influencers turned boxers sometimes do not get the recognition or the appreciation that they should get, just because they already had a platform? Sometimes I think those people who are influencer and trying to fight does not get people to look at them seriously.

It is also actually a really good idea to support Inoue. I think he is definitely going to do it correctly. Don’t get me wrong. The choice is definitely hard. But I think he is the better one in this comparison.

Influencers who became boxers don't get much recognition from real boxing fans because they have not earned it. Jake Paul, who is the most famous of these influencers, turned pro almost 4 years ago and his only win against a fighter with a winning record was against a nearly 50 year old Anderson Silva. These fighters don't take the sport seriously. As long as they can get easy money based on their fame we will continue to see these farcical cherry-picked fights.
789  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Mempool block 807829 took only 1sat/vbyte on: September 15, 2023, 06:45:50 PM
Looks like they have a deal with a conjoin company

here is the tx id

https://mempool.space/tx/12a80fa353a38ffba5d94bc85e82208781cb627bec1e5090f69377e91405c75b

hundreds of tiny inputs to this address

https://mempool.space/address/37Q3iz1k8FCo2DfssdcCHf3MfLT8ckBSg2

and this address has had 1800+ points sent to it.

That's not a coinjoin because there would also need to be hundreds of recipients instead of one and there is also lots of address reuse on the input and output side. This is a dust consolidation from Coinex. It can be quite a headache dealing with thousands of small UTXOs so partnering with a mining pool can be a good idea to prevent this situation from becoming unmanageable and having coins stuck for a very long time because paying the normal mining fee in times of congestion would consume almost the entirety of your funds.
790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Was it my fault or not? on: September 15, 2023, 05:38:57 PM
This story does not seem very believable. It's strange how your post is so detailed and isn't completely plagued with grammatical errors like your previous posts which barely make any sense. The part where you say Bitcoin was sent to a USDT is where your story falls apart. This would only be possible if it was an Omni Layer USDT address which Binance doesn't support and also the fees on Omni are too high to be realistically used for supermarket purchases.
791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Honest question, what to think about “crypto” affiliates or influencers? on: September 15, 2023, 04:52:52 PM
There's nothing inherently wrong with people making a living by making promotional videos on behalf of a product or service. Unfortunately, when it comes to crypto there are a lot of people who don't have any morals whatsoever and will shill the scummiest garbage possible. The more buzzwords and hyperbole you see in a video the more likely it is to be a scam.

There are some people who genuinely want to educate people like BTC Sessions and a few others. If creating content is your main job and you're putting in a good amount of time into editing and doing research then it's completely fine to use your platform to earn money as an affiliate since YouTube sure as hell isn't going to give you a fair cut from their profits. It's the Bitboy and Ivan on Tech types who intentionally mislead and dump tokens on their followers that I have a problem with.
792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the new Apple toys & Invest in Bitcoin, history always repeat itself. on: September 15, 2023, 05:13:27 AM
I don't do this often but if my post can save a soul from making the wrong decision, it would be worth the effort. We're in September which is the period which Apple flood the market with their new toys and people make the mistakes of throwing away money every year on these items. Why would anyone buy something that'll be devalued in about 12 months time because around this time next year Apple will be releasing a new set of devices and an upgrade of what will be released this year. Instead of buying those devices now, you can use that money for something more reasonable by investing that money in Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is low currently which is another reason to make use of this opportunity to invest in Bitcoin.

It's not necessarily an either-or situation. You can buy a new Apple device and continue to stack sats. I have purchased several Apple devices with Bitcoin that I've earned through the years and don't have any regrets. An iPhone you purchased one year ago might not have the same value but in those past 12 months you've gotten a lot of use from it. These days it is quite easy to upgrade to the latest model without paying the full price upfront. Even if you don't upgrade you will still get software updates for many years to come. My 3 year old Mac and 2 year old iPad aren't the latest and greatest but they have excellent build quality and their performance has not degraded in any noticeable way. If the price potentially going up factored into every purchasing decision then I would never spend BTC and just hoard it forever but that has not really been my mentality. I will spend BTC whenever I can exchange it for something that can provide me significant value in that moment.
793  Economy / Gambling / Re: No KYC Crypto Casinos & Sites | NoToKYC.com | Exclusive Bonuses on: September 15, 2023, 04:45:05 AM
It looks like the name of the site is a clickbait itself.  I would say, it was a clever idea since the name itself can tap the interest of readers but sadly not among the list given on the site can really offer a no KYC services since one way or another the casino listed on the site requires KYC when some conditions are met.

I tend to agree with other users because the domain name you use notokyc.com means you're want to completely stop KYC. While your site are actually review any crypto casino and more like a KYC level.

I don't think temporary no KYC is completely No KYC.

I thought that this site is providing a list of casinos where there is no KYC at all, but in fact all the casinos in the list are having possible KYC verification.
The chosen domain name NoToKYC is really good for marketing to attract gamblers who do not want to pass KYC in crypto casinos, without a doubt it is an effective to attract but once people visit the list, they will start to get disappointed.
However having "NO" is like too much because nowadays it is really hard to find casino which is completely KYC free.
Maybe having a name like "KYCfriendlycasino" will be much more reasonable, but of course the owner has a full right to choose which name for his site.

Yeah the name of the site is good for marketing but for sensitive people that feels being click baited, the name itself can backfire making visitors annoyed because they feel that they are being cheated of their time since the list of casinos on the site all required KYC in some point of time.

The site seems like it was designed to funnel traffic to OP's referral links. The "No KYC" angle is great for advertising but as several people have pointed out these claims are a bit dubious. I would've preferred if they followed kycnot.me's approach where the main listing criteria isn't whether they can gain financially. It might still be a useful site but when there is a financial motive there is a possibility that the information we receive might be biased.
794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: September 14, 2023, 06:51:10 AM
Yeah, but can he win? He could be a popular showman, no doubt about that, but people are smarter these days than to elect a guy like him as president.

Btw, something has changed recently. Desantis was kicked out from the top 3 by Vivek Ramaswamy:

I didn't know him before. Why do people think he has a chance?

There is always a new flavor of the month in the early days of the campaign which gets a lot of media attention. First it was DeSantis, then Ramaswamy, and now Nikki Haley is starting to rise in the polls. Realistically, Trump's lead appears to be insurmountable and the primaries should be over very quickly.

Regardless of who gets the Republican nomination, recent CNN polling is not looking so favorable towards Biden. Even Chris Christie could beat him in a direct face off.
795  Other / Archival / Re: 🐱 [banned mixer] - The Cutest Bitcoin Mixer! on: September 14, 2023, 06:18:37 AM
Do you think of making a custom Tor domain for [banned mixer]?

Tor links like mixymoneyxxxxxxxxx will be cool as a brand Tor domain for [banned mixer] mixer.

It helps your users have more convenience to recognize the Tor domain of Mixy Money. It also help them to have a good support to avoid phishing links.

A scammer looking to impersonate [banned mixer] could just as easily generate a vanity onion address with a similar prefix for their own domain. While it might look cool it doesn't do anything to prevent users from falling for a phishing scam. The best way to protect yourself would be to bookmark the official onion URL and only access the site from there.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: September 14, 2023, 05:45:51 AM
I have seen many casino platforms where there is no age limit. Again, I saw on some platforms that it is given whether the age is 18+. All these things are not complicated in the casino platform. I have seen a lot of underage kids who are between 12 and 15 years old gambling on casino platforms. So I see that online casinos do not follow any age.

Although some casino platforms do not allow children under the age of 18+ to play at the casino, if there is a KYC system, children can steal other people's information and complete KYC. So how can you ban minors from casino platforms? You cannot catch how they are gambling on the casino platform.

Most casinosides contain no kyc system. You can gamble by having an account there. If you want to take legal action against all these casino sites then you will suffer a lot. Because you will definitely need a lot of money to file a legal action in which case you will have to provide a lot of money. At some point it will appear that you have lost the case against this casino platform. So the casino platform will continue to run at its own pace and all persons including adults and minors will participate in betting. For this we cannot take any action against the casino platform.

Whenever a user signs up to a casino they have to agree to abide by their local regulations. If someone violates their rules then they are not responsible for that user's losses and they also have the right to confiscate their earnings. A legal case would not be likely to succeed because the user would be at fault for ignoring the terms they agreed to when they registered.

KYC can be trivially bypassed in many situations where a business does not have direct in-person interaction with their customers and that is why it is a flawed policy for online casinos but there are other sophisticated methods they can adopt to prevent fraudulent activity.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 13, 2023, 05:50:18 PM
Have you guys noticed, that with time, vote poll became more even? If at first, Fury was domination among users selection, now he is leading only with few votes. Why suddenly users opinion changed so much ? Because of 1) they observed current form of Fury 2) the role of Mike Tyson in Ngannou camp became more valuable 3) people noticed something new in Ngannou 4) they just randomly chose the winner Cheesy

Fury has a lot of haters who just want to see him lose. He is very arrogant and often contradicts himself by saying he cares more about legacy than about the money. Even if he is justified in wanting a higher percentage against Joshua and Usyk people will still blame him for those negotiations failing. He is not the people's champion as he likes to portray himself. He obviously cares very much about money and has made it the primary reason for why he is competing in the sport.

800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 10, 2023, 06:22:00 AM
An update on this fight: Frank Martin has pulled out and Stevenson is now looking to fight #6 ranked fighter Edwin de los Santos.
https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-seeks-new-opponent-wbc-lightweight-title-fight-frank-martin-out--177598

My guess is that Haymon has managed to pull some strings and another one of Haney's belts will suddenly be declared vacant so that Martin can face an easier opponent instead. Stevenson has called himself the most ducked fighter in boxing and that claim may be accurate. None of the top fighters in the division seem too interested in fighting him.
