I'd say this is pretty great news, this gives merchants and customers even more incentive to switch over to cryptocurrency payments. Businesses should really put this into the spotlight by giving discounts for payments with cryptocurrency.
They save on transaction fees and customers benefit from being able to buy at a discount. Win Win.

Seems like there are a bunch of new gambling platforms popping up on the Steem blockchain. Well, not just your regular casino's, I'd also consider Drugwars to be a form of PVP gambling. Besides that you now have about 3 or 4 new casinos being launched there.

My comment is about the website, since I don't feel comfortable downloaded just any app onto my phone. It has way too few features for me to be using it regularly. - There doesn't seem to be any way to filter news articles on specific keywords. - While I appreciate a minimalist design, I feel that this is just a tad too minimal. - Articles are displayed in one continuous list, no way to only see articles from other days. - You can't add or remove source websites. The news aggregator that I currently use is Faws.com, which has all the features that I mentioned above. That's a pretty good starting point, if you want to create your own news aggregator service.

Who knows but in any case hitting something that low odd must feel amazing, it is really once in a life time feeling (even tough if you play a lot and get it twice somehow) and I had it once in my life and it felt so amazing that I didn't actually believed it until I was capable of withdrawing and actually cashing it out to my fiat bank account because it felt that much unbelievable. Hopefully, that person also felt that way and made a big profit before he lost too much because it must feel like he is on top of the clouds.
At least you can immediately cash it out when you're playing on Crypto-games. On most fiat casinos, you'd have to wait like 3 days before the payment is 'authorized' and than another 2 days before the money is in your bank account. That's why I like cryptocurrency so much, you get your money the same day

Nothing from 2019 yet? Don't think there have been any notable debates yet, but I could be wrong.
For me, the debates between Eric Voorhees and Peter Schiff were the most interesting. You could clearly hear that both of them knew what they were talking about, which made for some very interesting back & forths between the two.

It is not at all a big thing to see men in higher percentage contributing good to the cryptocurrency event or to the community. This is all because of the men's updated mind, while women were much focused on fashion industry and very few were exception. If a government adopt bitcoin and suggest that everything related to fashion need to be brought using bitcoin, then surely they'll come and can see more women attendees to events, lol.
You're probably just joking, but that's pretty far from the truth. There are enough women that have an interest in technology and I'd even go as far as saying that it's likely that women are somewhat pushed towards other industries because of cultural aspects. Well, part cultural aspects and part biological factors, most likely a combination of both. But to mention silly tropes like these doesn't actually create a very inviting environment, plus it isn't exactly funny. By all means, let more women join cryptocurrency events, but only if they're actually interested. I wouldn't laugh at them for being interested in cryptocurrency or technology in general. (and most people wouldn't) The percentage of female participants in cryptocurrency will continue to increase. But, why is the cryptocurrency market now dominated by men? The answer is because men's instincts have a leadership spirit, where a man dares to take a decision with all the risks. We don't need to worry about the percentage because over time the number will increase when the female participants find it hard to understand the crypto market conditions
I really don't think it's more difficult for women to learn about theory relating to 'market conditions'. Besides, as if the market is the only thing that's interesting about cryptocurrency... Pfft, the people who focus on the markets are usually the people I find most idiotic, men or women.

I'm not a big fan of trying to force more equality, just for the sake of genders being equally divided in the crypto-space. I personally think that crypto events are not really hostile to women, I think that women are simply less interested in cryptocurrency.
Look, I don't care about someone's gender, all I care about is if they're interested in cryptocurrency.

Did you authorize the transaction using steemconnect or used steem keychain? You will see a roll animation, when used with keychain.
Hope I am not being a fanboy? Lol.
I use SteemConnect, I do see the roll animation but it's a little bit delayed compared to other casinos I play at. The whole experience isn't that great, I mean you can't even autoroll, like I mentioned before.
|
|
|
It's only interesting if you already have a Steem account. For a dice site, it isn't actually all that great, several important features are missing.
There's no autoroll, so you have to bet manually each time. The betting is not instant, you have to wait a bit before you actually roll.
Lastly, the website is kinda buggy sometimes, with your balances not updating.

The fees are indeed quite high, but for some people it's just worth it for the convenience. According to an article from Cryptoslate, you'd pay 4% in fees plus the trading spread. https://cryptoslate.com/coinstar-kiosks-sell-bitcoin/Note that the article also mentions that you pay a whopping 11.9% in fees to count your change in those Coinstar machines. Also, you can't exchange your coins into Bitcoin.

Seems interesting if you can get the concept decently worked out. It would be something I'd be interested in playing for sure, as long as there are enough active players.
Too bad that the video doesn't show any actual game-play though.

Wow, almost 5K sats bet with such slim margin. Some risky win right there!
Yeah that's a pretty amazing win right there! I wonder how many bets he had to make to get that win. Nice big profit as well, almost half a Bitcoin Might try to place some bets like that myself, though I can probably only afford like 50 of them I wish I'd won the last Litecoin lottery, had bought quite a few tickets. Then I saw Roadcrypto won it with only a couple of percent tickets owed :-/
I can never seem to win with the lottery, not that I play that often, but I think I've lost the last 10 times I've played.
Keep trying. I have seen some good wins with low % chances lately. One or two good wins can cover previous losses ;p Yeah well, can't hurt to buy a couple of tickets each time

Not worth it for me. I generally avoid sending in any personal documents to any service, so I'm definitely not going to start doing it for $25.
I am pretty surprised that a lot of people value their privacy so little that they just send copies of their passports over the internet.

I think that the line can be a little bit blurry sometimes. I don't think you're addicted per se if you have a favourite game, but to an outsider it can definitely look that way.
When you think about it, having a game that you just play all the time can also make you addicted. I imagine some people will start telling themselves they're not addicted, but in reality they're slowly getting dependent on playing that one game.
It's okay to have a favorite game, but I'd switch it up from time to time. That's just how I personally feel about it though...

This is impressive I tell you Im not too surprised. But please let me know when Pizza Hut accepts Ethereum and IOTA so then I have something to be excited about!
Huh? You're not excited when a major business 'accepts' Bitcoin LN payments? You know you're on the Bitcoin Forum, right? News like this does excite me. I mean, I see franky1's point that Domino's doesn't actually know they're accepting Bitcoin payments, but for the end-user it's still great (in theory).

It's also important to always double-check which wallet you're sending coins to. There are certain types of malware that can detect whether you have copied a Bitcoin address and then replace that with another address, so you're actually pasting that malicious address into your wallet. Here's more info on that specific type of malware: https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/07/02/new-clipboard-hijacker-malware-monitoring-2-3-million-crypto-addresses/It's been around for a very long time btw, usually people install it via untrusted browser plugins.

Its not the worst addiction in the world, drugs can be far more damaging on your wallet and health. I think it is very important to have a very close support system of friends that you can talk to in your tough times. Just remember that everything is temporary and nothing will last forever.
I don't know about that.. Sure drugs can be very damaging to your health, but I think gambling is probably the most expensive addiction out there. Think about it, someone who's severely addicted to gambling will spend every last penny in his pocket. Most drug addicts will still get by somehow, gambling addicts usually end up selling their house etc.

Not much different than handing over a paper wallet to someone, but it's still amazing that this was done over radio-waves. I personally don't think that the fact it wasn't an actual transaction, diminishes the achievement in any way. I'll let this tweet from the guy who did it speak for itself:

While this is great news for the increased amount of exposure that Bitcoin's getting, I wonder how much volume those ATM's are getting combined. I've tried searching for any sort of statistics regarding the trading volume of these ATMs and can't seem to find anything.
If anyone has any numbers on that, please do share.
