821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 18, 2024, 06:30:50 AM
Keeping track of your taxes when you win at sports betting or casinos is an important part of playing responsibly. You're proactive and disciplined by planning to regularly set aside a portion of your income and buy more based on what you won the previous year. Sharing plans and ideas can help form a community that values smart money management and making smart decisions.
As much as I don't like that taxation thing, this is the truth, there's no way that we can ignore them but for me, I don't think I need to worry too much about the tax on my gambling wins because there's so few wins that it's really not that difficult for me to not worry about it and the online gambling in my country isn't taxed I think, I've been playing on this slots and a lot of unemployed people in my place are playing them and so far, no one is getting taxed for their winning although it can be debated that they're not really winning a lot, most of them are winning at most 5 digits in the local currency which isn't a lot when converted to dollar.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 18, 2024, 06:06:51 AM
I think the social aspect of online gambling can't match that of offline gambling. The bond or the experience with other people can't be sufficiently provided in online gambling platforms. Perhaps it would only be activated if the other gamblers in your table are friends or if you are familiar with each other like when a poker game is composed of users from this forum. If they are not friends or familiar persons, you would even seldom contribute a response.
This is what's missing, the act of forging connections with other people are not present when you are doing online gambling, there's no physical presence that can evoke the feeling and at the same time I feel like you're likely to spend more money online because there's no physical separation from you and the money so you don't feel that sadness that can make you when you're gambling on a physical casinos. Even when you're playing with your friends, it would still be different and I think it's noticeable, the banters are boring and the trashtalks with your friends are just different when you're offline, go on and test it to see if what I'm saying is somewhat true.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: January 18, 2024, 05:21:32 AM
Many gamblers have hard such expensive experience, from following such gambling partten for God sake, I don't see any need to continue gambling when I have already reached my set limits and achieve the main aim, such as winning at the stand because that is when I need to apply the most needed caution cause at that moment you are already over stepping the boundaries and will eventually end on the negative side of things.

But those who are already addicted to gambling can not follow such partten as their tend to get overly carried away by they addictions that make them to over step their boundaries without they knowledge since the controlled by their addictions.
When you reach that limit, that's when you're gonna know that what you're saying is going to be difficult because a person that's continuously losing is going to be mad about their losses and they don't think straight so they do what they think is the solution to their lose streak which would be to play again and repeat the mistake. This thread wouldn't be this long if the pattern isn't happening to every gambler out there, the problem with this repetition of pattern is something should've been resolved during the childhood or formative years of that gambler, it's a habit that's subconsciously developed from different activities combined with different experience so it's difficult to do any kind of rehabilitation when fully formed but once taken care of, addiction or problems arising from that habit is going to not be an issue anymore.
824  Economy / Gambling / Re: Learn How To Arbitrage and make thousands a month on: January 18, 2024, 03:49:55 AM
~

Well my contention here is that sometimes in different options, the games end up being lose. You can bet for example Barcelona in different options usually direct win, win either half, over 2.5. So in such instance, the match can end up as Barcelona losing the match to the opponent. What such means is that the gamblers options ended as losing, it is as simple as that. Usually this is to the dismay of the gambler and you keep wondering what hardluck that came to you.

Arbitrage can also be profitable and you win lots of money from it.
Well, if you cover all the possibilities then you're going to be just fine and you've said it already, that arbitrage is profitable which means that this possible scenario that you're talking about isn't an uncommon occurrence so even with that worry, I do think that it's not enough to not say that arbitrage isn't worth a try especially if you've got people that can help you start profiting with that method. That depends on the person, since what you're talking about as I believe to be an uncommon occurrence, I do think that there's not a lot of people that's got to wonder that kind of thing.
825  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Web3Poker.com] Softest cash games in cryptospace on: January 18, 2024, 03:29:55 AM
Thanks for the advice. As for KYC: i if you register with a wallet, it depends on whether you will fall into risk check categories or not.
What is this risk check categories? This is the first that I've heard of it when it comes to non-KYC compliant casinos, are you allowed to disclose what the categories are or not? I'm curious as to what's the categories that will be listed so hopefully you can indulge us if it's allowed. Are you really sure that if the person that successfully passed from the risk check would be able to do their business their without needing KYC ever again? There are people here that got duped by these crypto casinos that are promising them no KYC but then when they have to withdraw their funds, they're going to need to comply to the KYC measures of that supposed to be non-KYC compliant casino.
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's official Bitcoin ETF approved on: January 18, 2024, 02:57:00 AM
Bitcoin didn't fly to the moon on the ETF news. It's surprising because btc lost value at a time when ppl talked about record price before halving so what's going to make it stop losing more value?
Some people that are hodling are probably taking profit before the inevitable pump in the prices, I mean enjoying a small amount of profit before getting in at a lower price because a lot of people have sold. In fact this is a good sign because that means we still have time to buy bitcoin for ourselves and increase our potential profit, just do DCA so you're not going all in at this current price, you might regret doing an all-in when you buy at this current price.

PS likes hard money like gold.  He hasn't (yet) gotten the fact that bitcoin is even harder than gold.  Eventually he may get it.  Or not.  That's fine, he is very set in his ways and has been right about some things in the past, and wrong about some things like most people.  His opinion on BTC has been meaningless except to the people who listened and didn't take advantage of the benefits of bitcoin in the past.

As far as the "cautious trader" - how about not trading, and just buying some and letting it ride?  Short term, the fiat price has certainly been volatile, long term the trend has been obvious.
He's from an old generation that thinks that the kids after his generation are stupid bunch that doesn't value hard work to get what they want, in reality he's just liking the idea of having to exploit workers and criticize people that want to demand higher pay and better working conditions. His generation is also the one's that only wants to have something that's tangible and they don't like the risk that bitcoin entails plus they're pretty much scared of the unknown so he's sticking to what's the most basic.
828  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2024-01-17] Forbes: JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon Says He Won’t Talk About Bitcoin ... on: January 18, 2024, 01:34:10 AM
If he really wants to shut up then shouldn't he be not saying that he shouldn't be talking about bitcoin? The only thing that I'm getting out of this interview is that he's a bitter guy and he's bitter for nothing because bitcoin threatens his very livelihood which is the banking industry. I don't agree with that headline that the trashing would be the last time because I don't recall this dude being an honest man, he's a banker, lies is his bread and butter so anything that we think he's saying, it's either not true at all or the total opposite, depending on how he wants the story that he's got his interests aligned, that's where he wants it to go, trust me that when bitcoin goes down, this dude would be talking about bitcoin again.
829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 17, 2024, 07:38:13 AM
The risks are all the same, we do think about it that way where we put a level on it is because we have different amount of money that we put into it, take for example, same game with the odds and the only change is the amount you're betting on the game, you're more nervous about the money losing on the one bet that's got a higher amount than that of the smaller amount.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to ride and stop! on: January 17, 2024, 06:30:15 AM
Gambling is basically about winning based on strategy.  The more a gambler gambles, the more experienced he becomes, at first he may face losses but as he gains experience he will be able to win consecutively. And excessive gambling leads to losses for the gambler. Taking risks in particular works best in gambling because it is never impossible to improve without taking risks.  That's why gambling requires risk and experience.
That's why we've got a lot of people that have a gambling problem because there's more losses than winning in gambling so people are mostly frustrated when they're gambling thus leading to them having to bet even more, it's basically a cycle that once it gets worse, even a win so big might not be enough satisfaction because they know that they're still at a loss with all the money that they've put in the gambling for that time and so it's another cycle for them.

Knowing when to stop is a difficult thing to do especially if you've been gambling for a really long time already, although you can learn it, it's going to take a lot of time so if anyone plans to learn that self-awareness thing, you need to be patient about the process.

832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin : An Emerging Idea of Global Virtual Currency on: January 17, 2024, 05:23:43 AM
Elon Musk as a global innovator
Yeah dude, innovator of the current system of exploitation of the workers, did you know that he's getting the cobalt for the batteries of the Tesla's in a cobalt mine in Africa that's basically operated on a slave labor conditions? Not to mention that his antics online is too goofy for me to believe that he's going to change the world for the better which I don't think is the case, he's going to want just more money for himself so he can do whatever he wants to do. I don't think that Eloncoin is even associted to him in anyway, probably just a crypto that wants to hitch on his popularity.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream business succeeded on: January 17, 2024, 04:52:42 AM
Wow, you've got a fully furnished bar and establishment for that amount? Now I want to know where you're from because I want to live there, I could probably retire with my money there if I wanted to because I feel like you're getting a really good value out there. Congratulations on your part, would've been more awesome if you've done the hardwork for the money but nonetheless, congratulations on the business and may you become successful.

put dancing naked woman and man in your bar. a lot of costumer coming there. Grin
Calm down with your suggestions, do it yourself if you want to but it's definitely a good suggestion, make sure that you're getting the most attractive ones though, don't want seeing unattractive attractions you know.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how wasabi, electrum, exodus ... make money ? on: January 17, 2024, 04:29:10 AM
~
I haven't seen any donation address on the official website. Maybe there was before, I can't remember but this is what I've seen on the same question if there's a way to donate to electrum.

This is the exact thing that came out when I've searched. It asked and answered three years ago on reddit.

Electrum probably doesn't have revenue as part of its operational structure. As for donations, this was once the reply of the developer:

However, you you can donate to the people who run public Electrum servers.
Electrum does relies on servers, and we currently lack an effective way to reward the server operators.

they don't accept donations. instead they suggest donating to the electrum server you are connected to. you can do that via the help menu option.

Prolly, all of the servers and stuff are gonna run based on its community or otherwise if come short, from their own pockets.
That's too bad that they're working for free, in my opinion, they're the type of people that I won't mind paying for their services because they're doing what they're promising to do, they would've been making bank if they start some form of monetization but they choose to be our heroes, when I finally made a profit, I'll probably do what @ThomasV wanted us to do. I can't imagine myself running a server and having to spend my own money to run it without any profit, I salute this people, not all heroes wear capes.
835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how wasabi, electrum, exodus ... make money ? on: January 17, 2024, 02:26:42 AM
Wasabi is a coinjoin and the money that would be made should be from coinjoin. I am not using Exodus because it is a close source wallet but it supports altcoins and it may support third parties sites that can be used to convert from one coin to another. Electrum developers are not making money from anywhere.
Do Electrum devs have any donation link? I don't think people won't mind if they do that because a lot of people are using their wallet with satisfaction and it's a pretty good wallet too, easy to use and almost idiot proofed. It's pretty good that they care about their servers but the devs need some love too right?
836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 17, 2024, 01:48:42 AM
That would be a good idea but the way the mind of some of us works, I don't think that we're going to like the idea of paying rent with bitcoin, now I'm not all the way a no go for this idea though, if it's a rent to own kind of deal and I'm getting a discount from using bitcoins to pay rent then I'm going to go for it because the investment right there is the property which you can probably sell more in the future when you finally own it.
837  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Makakaapekto kaya Sa Bitcoin Adoption Sa Mga Nangyayaring Rigodon Sa Ating Bansa on: January 16, 2024, 11:12:49 AM
~

839  Economy / Economics / Re: How influential is crypto worldwide? on: January 16, 2024, 09:49:03 AM
I feel like it's not as influential as it is right now and seeing that even with I perceived to be a small amount of influence that crypto is still increasing in value by day makes me full of hope that the more people getting into crypto then the more the price will increase and this is probably a start yet and we're not yet at what many thinks is the true peak of crypto so if that doesn't say anything about the potential of crypto then I don't know what others are waiting for.

That's one of the reasons why many people who have a full time quit their job and turn their part time job into a full time because honestly, they can earn more from their sideline compared to a full time job. The only difference is that we cannot say that freelance work is stable because the discussion and offer here is per contract and when it comes to benefits and government contributions, they no longer cover that.

If I will be given the chance to be accepted for a freelancing job, maybe I will try and weigh carefully what is more worth it, because I can't say that I can do it, until I have tried it and it is really difficult to let go of full time job that offers many benefits. Maybe no matter how good you are at time management, you will still struggle and you might even get sick because of overwork for the sake of earning more.

That's a big mistake, sure they make more money but I'd rather build a career that gives me a steady paycheck than a side gig that only pays in seasons and the competition for getting one is too high, there's more to life than just making money anyway so I think that for the better, find a side hustle that don't suck your soul out and make you want to quit your main job. Freelancing definitely works but to me, the starting of your brand there is what keeps me away from it, I don't want to do too much just to chase extra money if I'm getting enough with my main work, that's just me though, some will definitely disagree how I do my work.
