You can find people selling goods for bitcoin here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0
But, it would be hard to find cars and guns IMO.

Just a friendly reminder, use escrow whenever possible Cheesy

Yeah, escrow.

Not trying to buy a car, just LiFePO4 batteries and other parts for electric conversions.

Why would guns be hard? I buy them every day with cash, so, uh, why not BTC, too? Besides, making guns is pretty easy...
If your country is industrialized enough to support any form of welfare, it is far more than advanced enough for people to make guns in their bedroom...
Anyways, don't need that political tangent. Thanks for the link!

You are welcome, and good luck Smiley

I guess OP had already abandoned this account Cheesy

Localbitcoins - Guys get arrested in Florida for some BS law that says you cannot buy more than $300 in bitcoins per year anonymously with cash. WTF?!

I'd like to know more about this... I'm in Florida.

Just did a google search for you, and found the following:

I couldn't find it, maybe I'm searching with wrong words... But somebody out there has to offer the service of buying stuff in exchange for BTC. There's got to be some trusted members of the community doing this, I just can't imagine such a vacuum going unfilled.

I've got some stuff I want to to buy, but there is no source that accepts BTC which sells said products.

Most specifically, LiFePO4 cells, but, some other things now and again. Mostly relating to guns, off-grid, and electric cars.

My first project is an electric car/truck. I'm willing to bet that I can save more money on not buying gas than I would make on holding the BTC. And even if I'm wrong, freedom from the gas gangsters is priceless. Tesla, you say? Way too Big Brother for me. Building my own.

Not in a major rush... Looking for the right people first.

What about bitstamp? Have you tried it?
847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for Mt gox BTC buyers on: February 13, 2014, 05:17:16 PM
why would people buy 20 % of you since the price already lower than other 20% more ?

It is basically a gamble on whether btc withdrawal on mtgox will resume.
You pay 8btc to buy a "10btc balance" on mtgox.

If you eventually can get that 10btc out of mtgox, you win 2btc....

But IF you cant ;-\

and so it is a gamble  Wink
As you can see here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=455243.0;all), quite some people are interested to place their bets Cheesy

I changed my signature as well, but it still isn't showing - not sure what the rules are around here as i only visited a couple of times in 2011 for mining configs. Either way, thanks for being helpful!

You need to have 10 posts, in order to put links in your sig.
As I can see, your signature looks perfect now. Smiley

The core devs can make changes to the code (ban micropayment, lower tx fee, etc), and publish a new version of bitcoin-qt / bitcoind, but it is up to the users to adopt it.

The mining pools can change the policy on how they include tx into a block (no free tx, larger block size, etc), but it is up to the users (people with mining hardware / hashrate) to leave or join the pools.

How does peerbet operate with 0% edge ?
Peerbet: 0%  Huh

My bad, I sure make it more clearly.
The original peerbet has only 1 game (raffles), and it is 0% edge.
Later on, the site owner sold the site to bit777, and more games (with edge) were added on it.

Quote
Play Raffles, Wheel and Dice!
0% House edge on Raffles, 0.3% on PeerDice, 1% on Dice and 3.2% on Wheel!

Sorry guys, my bad.
Gmail was marking emails from this site as spam...
It seems I've been getting the notifications all along.

Thanks!

I see. Good to see the problem solved now. Smiley
857  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6 min post limitation on: February 13, 2014, 04:33:15 PM
My account is still classed as newbie but I don't seem to have the newbie restrictions anymore, at least not the full 360 seconds.
They changed the membergroups a few weeks ago. The time limits go down the more activity you get.

More precisely, the time limits are set with the following formula.

What are the time limits on posting and the levels??
I know 360 seconds are for new people like me, but was wondering if there was break down somewhere on this.

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

OP didn't log in for the past 2 days, maybe he is really busy testing the password variations.
Anyway, good luck.

Well at least, OP's problem was completely solved in a day Smiley
The support seems to be pretty good...
