862  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: August 14, 2011, 10:11:12 PM
You can only claim prize once a day anyway, why would you need to fill out the CAPTCHA more than once a day?
863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Announcing BCCAPI on: August 14, 2011, 10:09:52 PM
You should say "Zero backup needed", otherwise it sounds like a negative point.
864  Economy / Lending / Re: loan on: August 14, 2011, 10:14:31 AM
Is there gonna be some sort of wall of shame for people that run away with loans?
865  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Auto-updates? on: August 13, 2011, 11:01:31 PM
I've been told it's 'cause they fear the auto-update function will be hijacked to trick users into installing malware...
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing the Satoshi Gate on: August 13, 2011, 11:00:25 PM
When i saw the thread title i thought this was gonna be about some scandal involving the creator of Bitcoin...
867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mental Bitcoin Wallet: I have real bitcoins stored in my head. on: August 13, 2011, 10:22:04 PM
Some biometric locks are surprisingly easy to crack
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 8 Bitcoin Weaknesses that Affect the Economy on: August 12, 2011, 11:15:17 AM

6) I can send a micro-payment right now pretty easily. When there are "millions" of these payments, you can assume the price per bitcoin will be significant and thus processing issues will not be too problematic.

The current fee enforced by the official client is too big for micropayments, often bigger than the microamount people wanna transfer; and when bitcoins are worth significant more, if the mandatory fee is kept at a similar proportion of the value of 1BTC you would still be paying more in txfees than the micropayment itself.
869  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Two identical computers have a 150 watt difference, how could this be? on: August 12, 2011, 11:02:25 AM
There is a dead rat inside one of them?
870  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dark Exchange: a 100% decentralized p2p exchange on: August 12, 2011, 10:36:55 AM
Wouldn't Freenet be more suitable for hosting a decentralized thing that must be pretty much unshutdownable?
871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I admit to being a scammer, and having multiple accounts. on: August 12, 2011, 10:01:09 AM
Would you mind if i ask what was the nature of the scam?
872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next chapter in the life of Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2011, 09:53:34 AM
My vote is it will be worth 100USD per BTC before XMass, and then the upward speed will start to stabilize.

Why? Because believing in that reality makes me happy, that's why.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Nodes on 3D Globe on: August 12, 2011, 01:06:04 AM
Isn't it for IPs that are in a range that doesn't has a location specified to anything more precise than country?
874  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: mining as a whole was severely reduced in the last 2+ weeks? on: August 12, 2011, 12:58:26 AM
Isn't it slower to compensate when it was too fast in the past so it averages out at around 10 min exactly?

877  Other / Off-topic / Re: Stop misusing the term hacker people on: August 11, 2011, 08:00:37 PM
Cracker isn't always bad either, it's all about how the person use their skills.

Phreakers weren't bad (necessarilly), neither hackers. Locksmiths/lockpickers can use their skills for good or for evil just the same.

It's like if people start saying traceurs (practitioners of parkour) and freerunners are people that invade private property and leave shoeprints on white walls.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox acquires Bitomat.pl - consumer protection in the free market! on: August 11, 2011, 07:49:50 PM
I wonder how they will deal with people that had accounts on both sites using the same emails, and with different people that used the same username...
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OFFICIALLY I GOT BACK 49% OF BTC FROM MYBITCOIN on: August 11, 2011, 07:30:29 PM
I believe he meant to say zero percent instead of just zero, but to not be too formal he just said zero.

"49 BTC is more than 0" Here you understand i mean zero BTC
"49 per cent is more than 0" While here you understand i mean zero per cent.

880  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin has failed. Could something similar possibly work? on: August 11, 2011, 07:27:55 PM
Bitcoin will only fail when people stop believing in it, which is.... never? ^^

OR when people stop buying them with other currencies/commodities.

Actually, that is probably a significant threshold to consider Bitcoin a success, when people start using it as their everyday money instead of interfacing back and forth with govt. money
