901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: August 20, 2017, 05:44:00 PM
Every monthly distribution GBYTE consistently loses its value, btc holders who acquired byteball always dump their coins immediately. I hope this coming monthly distribution will be different when their byteball have been significantly reduced.

The amount of free GByte distributed to Bitcoin holders will be reduced by 10x. However, this change in distribution pattern has really resulted in the price nose diving and many who were previously holding GByte might be tempted to dump GBs. Only after September 6 (first distribution with new pattern) will be able to gauge the actions of those who received GBs in the airdrop.

Any chance for GByte to be added to polo?

Tons of shitcoins listed there, but not GByte, I dont understand this guys

The ways of Poloniex are really incomprehensible. It is not just about GByte. They seem to have some mental block about including some coins.
Listing on Poloniex could really result in an increase in price and volumes.

A bad week..put 0.1 on Arsenal and 0.05 on Stoke. Sad
Hey Wenger, whats wrong with your team?

Arsenal are about to lose this match - they are 1 goal behind and its the  88th minute.
As I said couple times- there are planty of surprises in the first matches of the season. Be carfull with gambling.

Are you serious? You are replying to a 2015 post. And at that time Arsenal and Stoke were playing different matches.
This time they are playing against each other. Why do you think anybody would bet on both sides in the same match?
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICO, still promising? on: August 19, 2017, 08:36:37 PM
Some ICOs were total bust, they scammed people including me for good, however there are still some good ICOs running currently which are somewhat promising, I would never trust and invest on ICOs claiming to be a crypto currency, we have Bitcoin to be just that, tokens should be worth something only on a platform related to the project. Iconomi was one successful ICO and now Social is another one however the price is a bit high at least for me that's why I just bought a few for now to see what happens in coming days.

You shouldn't just judge ICOs by the way the price has moved in the few months past the ICO. I would say the ICO is successful when the project is fully developed and the tokens are used for the purpose they were intended for (as opposed to being traded around).
905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to store multiple coins? on: August 19, 2017, 08:32:32 PM
Put them all on Bittrex and pray to the exchange scam gods for mercy.  But seriously... I'm surprised someone hasn't figured this out.  I bet there's some money to be made for a smart person (which isn't me.)

You can also diversify into different exchanges, if at all you go down the exchange route. If you do hold them for the long term on exchanges, I suppose one of them will eventually get hacked.
906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: August 16, 2017, 09:48:22 PM
does this http://particl.io/ compare anyway to bitbay?

Supposedly they are years behind bitbay in development.  I heard they tried to reverse engineer the bithalo technology that David developed before when they were Shadowcash, but ended up failing.  Whats sad is that none of that seems to matter as they're got active marketing and are 4-5x times bitbay's marketcap currently.

I think bitbay seriously needs a rebrand and a professional marketing firm like the one NEO used to catapult themselves.  After rolling peg this should seriously be given some consideration.  I just googled bitbay and the top 4 newsarticles were releases for bitbay.net.  This is seriously confusing to potential investors or anyone coming into the space.

It is unfortunate that the bells and whistles and all these marketing gimmicks seem to be enough to convince people. Newer cryptocurrencies with far less potential compared to Bitbay have high valuations.
907  Economy / Speculation / Re: What caused the crash in July to make bitcoin reach $1880? Anything specific? on: August 16, 2017, 09:45:43 PM
I think it wasn't only because the fork. Bitcoin price was rising too fast, then the correction lead it down fast as well.

The same can happen again soon, not to $1880, but a big crash anyway.

The price rise which happened in late July is nothing compared to what is happening now. It was not a simple correction - the fear about the hard fork also contributed to it. And immediately after August 1 the price has exploded.
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 16, 2017, 09:43:40 PM
Lol sorry my bad  Cheesy

I mean:
You have 3 wallets each with 5GB, then you get 5*0.1 + 5*0.1 + 5*0.1 = 1.5GB
You have 1 wallet with 15GB then you get 15*0.1 = 1.5 GB

So it is the same.

Sheesh... We are debating the associative property of multiplication here.
Bottom line - it doesn't matter how your coins are split in your wallet.
909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 14, 2017, 06:03:23 AM
I wonder when the landslide will stop? Is it Iconomi who is dumping so much coins into the market to kill the price?

wondering the same too, must some big whales in urgent need of bitcoins, so they dump big. If it is the case, it is probably fine. If it had bad news, then it would suck.

Yeah, the sooner the whales get rid of their GB holdings, the better it is for Byteball. And this won't be repeated after the next airdrop because of the change in distribution. Overall, I am optimistic about price increase later on.
910  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: August 14, 2017, 05:49:16 AM
This is the lowest it's ever been? Could it be dumping partly because of the change in the airdrop? You get less for holding bitcoin. Byteball doesn't really have a competetor, so I can't explain why it's dropped so low, I suppose in relation to btc/usd. Anyone else have ideas?

Yeah, the change in distribution policy has really skewed the market dynamics. We will have an extended distribution period, but a lot of people feel it makes sense to dump byteball now.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 14, 2017, 05:40:08 AM
Yesterday 2 surprising results (liverpool 3-3 and Chelsea lost 3-2). Today, however, I expect Manchester United and Tottenham to win without any problems.
Chelsea can still win the Premier League this year but must buy at least 2-3 players because it currently has few players for a season of at least 60 matches!
Chelsea have no chance of winning the league this year, They will have a chance of winning if they are able to sign the likes of Messi and Ronaldo which is not possible at all, Without a doubt the league is heading to the city of Manchester and its going to be either Manchester United or Manchester City who are going to win it eventually.

Still too early to judge, Chelsea lost their first match because of their own fault (2 red cards). The result might be different if there was no red cards, Conte will not give up just because he lost his first match. Although I'm not a fan of Chelsea but I'm sure they will struggle till the end of the season.

Yes it's still early though, but Chelsea next match is against Tottenham which is not an easy match for Chelsea with their missing 2 main players. Congrats for Manchester United, they won big against West ham with 4 goals. A good match for Man United, i think Manchester United will become superior again in this season.
yeah manchester united have a good game againts west ham united. their new striker Romelu lukaku is new predator for united! he is great player. and their new midfileder Matic have good passing and good defend. its good for manchester united in this season

Manchester United didn't have a good game, they had an awesome game against West Ham. A scoreline of 4-0 is nothing to scoff at. And debutant Lukaku pretty much sealed the match with a couple of goals to give the lead to Manchester United.
912  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 14, 2017, 05:36:38 AM
During a quick climb people hold off on selling because they don't know how high the price will go. When it starts to level out normal trading comes back in and people sell again.

Funny thing is that with all of the crazy price action I locked in a $4k rate with an investment yesterday with someone but was traveling and couldn't get to my cold storage. I had no idea what the price would be when I finally did send the payment. The price was about the same as when we locked it in. I'm glad it returned to that price just in time, mainly because it was likely the first experience with real world spending of bitcoins for a few people and if the price had dropped $500 in that time it would sour them of the whole bitcoin thing and have them forever linking bitcoin to being "too volatile".

That is a lucky break. If you had transferred the bitcoins a couple of hours after you locked in the price (when it had risen to $4150) the people you sold to would have been even more happy. A gain of 4% even before they transferred the money!!
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 12, 2017, 07:19:53 AM
I see Arsenal to win 2-1 but it beginingof season and Leicester is Leicester so i dont bet but 2-2 after crazy game will be nice opening
Its a halftime at the emirates and the score is currently 2-2, Arsenal took the lead in the second minute through the latest signing Alexander Lacazette but Shinji Okazaki and Jamie Vardy scored and later Welbeck equalised for thee Gunners before heading into half time. Arsenal have been dominate in the game so far and am sure they are going to eventually win the game.

Boom Vardy 2-3 Vardy Mehrez show continue,Leicester 3 shots on target 3 goals.Arsenal will not win that game

The final score for Arsenal vs Leicester City is 4-3 and win for Arsenal, what a match though. That 2 fast goal in the last 10 minutes before the match end really lucky for arsenal and good job for Xhaka, making 2 assist for Arsenal, that was a great match though both teams play aggresive and many goals happened.

This match see-sawed the entire way. What a thriller it was!! Two goals in the last 10 minutes won the match for Arsenal. It isn't easy when you are trailing and not much time left, to focus on finding those goals. The fact that the substitute Olivier Giroud netted the winner makes it sweet.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OmiseGO Airdrop? on: August 12, 2017, 07:12:28 AM
https://www.omise.co/omisego-airdrop-update

So yeah, this is apparently happening

Any idea exactly what to do to "qualify" for this? Can you just have your ethereum in your ledger and they will automatically be "added" or what exactly is gonna happen here?

Do you have to be a node?

They are just distributing 5% of total supply through an airdrop? That is more like a give away, not an airdrop. Compare this to Byteball, where 98% of the total supply is distributed through an airdrop. That was its USP for success.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 12, 2017, 06:41:34 AM
What was the thing that showed the time of each doubling during the previous bubbles. Would be nice to see where we are in relation to those

Ok, I was overdue to do one of these since we have now convincingly taken out my targetted $3200-3600 range ... next doubling takes us to $6800-7200 region however the timescales are more relatively relaxed since we had that long pregnant pause around forking time, so in ~6 weeks maybe.

But this whole doubling in half the time thing has gotten quite out of whack so I'm not placing much faith in it, more of a watch and see and it might throw up some useful targets. It seems like there maybe something else going on here now, bigger forces are coming into play, maybe a larger scale mega-trend is re-establishing itself. At one point bitcoin price was reliably tenfolding about every 12-18 months and then the Gox blow-off and crash put that on hold and some very determined and deep-pocketed players did their best to stifle/sabotage/bad-mouth/usurp bitcoin for the following 2 years ... maybe we are going to go back the 10-folding growth? With some catching up to the old trend thrown in for good measure. We could be going vertical on the S-curve phase?

Interesting that masterluc has us breaking up above the existing exponential trend into a faster growth trend again.

10 fold growth again? That is crazy. If that happens, all those who sold when Bitcoin touched $2k will jump off a cliff.
The holders will be the real winners in this round.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [GBYTE] Byteball Speculation on: August 12, 2017, 06:31:21 AM
The price is completely dumped, so you have nice possibility for entry to this coin, but BTC is shit expensive now, so there are some risks with it.
p.s. What is your mind about GBB exchange listing? Is it possible?

You can buy coins pretty easily, but the problem is that after every airdop a lot of coins are getting dumped in the market. Plus the number of bitcoins linked for the airdrop increases with every round, so the number of coins in circulation is increasing drastically. After a couple of more rounds, this coin will stabilize.
917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 12, 2017, 06:27:48 AM
Does any one know if it's possible to link to a new bitcoin address at this point?

I moved the bitcoins out of my linked wallet to access the BCC. Since that exposed the seed to Electron Cash, i don't want to move the BTC back.

When I enter my byteball address to the transition bot, to try and link a BTC account it just replies "Sorry, you are late. See you in the next round." and pretty much anything else gets the "your current bitcoin link is blah blah blah, current balance etc."

Any Thoughts?

Just wait for a few more days. The bot usually blocks linking, immediately after the snapshot is taken for the airdrop. Then the bytes and blackbytes are distributed, and the linking of bitcoin addresses is opened again.
918  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is increasing too fast, will there be a correction? on: August 12, 2017, 06:23:26 AM
a correction can not happen every day in a rising market (or bull market). and if you look around you can see that there was already a big correction a couple of days ago which was about 11% drop in price and then it recovered and started rising again.
and this time the correction will happen near the $4000. if it can not be broken then it will happen below it and if it can be broken (which has a less chance of happening) the correction will be delayed and price will probably stay above $4000

I think this time can be different, because it is rising too fast, and since SegWit was approved and the fork was proven to be harmless, people are buying by the hundreds.

Maybe the correction will only be at 5k, or even 10k. So might be better to buy now and hold, since these values can be reached soon, as the curve gets steeper.

People always think this time is different. You can always attribute reasons to it and rationalize. But in the end, history repeats itself. The dot com bubble was followed by a crash, even though the internet had huge potential. This time too, there will be a correction.
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: August 11, 2017, 07:54:45 PM
the best is that the price will soon be back at the point i will buy more. last time bought at 360sats. and i still not sold these coins.

The problem is that Bitbay is no longer in the top 100 in terms of the market capitalization of altcoins. If we are not in the top 100, we tend to drift unless there is some major development in the coin.
920  Economy / Speculation / Re: $3500 on: August 11, 2017, 07:51:02 PM
When will we see? Price seems to get stuck just below.

We did touched $3,500 already and it's going to be possible that we will hit $4,000 very soon. This is another amount that everyone is thinking to reach very soon. And as of now I can't see that it won't be falling anytime soon just like the traders are thinking. Just keep on holding your bitcoins people!

We shouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves. The price of bitcoin around 3 weeks back was around $2000. Now we have bitcoin cash and the price is $3500. We should be happy if the price is maintained.
