A lot of talk about Christian Wood and I agree it is a good signing, but I still don’t think he starts or even replaces Rui when it comes to minutes. Rui had a great season last year and I think Christian Wood will likely get garbage minutes in comparison. I still say he’s an insurance policy in case Anthony Davis goes down.
More of a back-up Center for AD. That's his role. When Davis is on the bench, he will be the one who will sub depending on the situations.

I agree that Wood has been a great piece when he's in the Rockets many years ago, and played well there, but ever since he got traded, he became a role player, and sometimes he doesn't even play. Like what you're feeling, Rui already had a terrific season since he got traded to the Lakers. Just imagine if the Lakers' roster after the all-star is what their roster is when the season started. I doubted that they will just be at the 7th spot at the end of the season. From 13th at the start, to ended the season at 7th. I will not be surprised if this current roster of the Lakers now will be a championship contender, and as for Wood, he will be the one replacing Davis if just in case he got injured, so this might be a good thing for him to showcase his skills.

Anyway, we don't hear anything anymore about Damian Lillard, and his trade talks. Any update on him? Where he will be landing at the start of the season? Will he stay as a Blazer, or he might get traded at the mid-season?

Re: Let's Stabilize Bitcoin
If you want to stabilize the price of Bitcoin, at least try to convince investors to think Bitcoin as a currency, and not an asset.
Ohhh wait. Even fiat currencies aren't stable right? So how is this possible? Stabilizing Bitcoin's price.

It's simple, it's impossible to happen. The fact that many investor sees Bitcoin as an asset where they can make money by investing into it is enough already to say that Bitcoin will never stabilize. Another one is that, for example you are the type of investor who gained a lot of money already thru trading in crypto, and that includes Bitcoin. Would you want Bitcoin to be stabilize? That would've affect that trader's profit right? TBH, I don't want to stabilize it because I don't think that it'll happen. Even those stablecoins out there aren't stable even there's the term "stable".

If I were you OP, just forget about it, and think of a way to earn money thru crypto. Smiley
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Visa Takes on Crypto with Solana and USDC on: September 08, 2023, 06:02:43 AM
I knew that Solana has been to many hacks in the last couple of years, but I think that VISA knows what they're doing thus, Solana has something that we investors aren't seeing. I don't know what it is, and it's a bit curious why Solana, but maybe the main reason is the fact that Solana can handle 50,000-65,000 Transactions per second.

For Solana, maybe this might be a wake-up call for them, and we might see little to no hacks in the future because after all, it's VISA that they're partnering with. As for the stable coin, I think USDC would be better than USDT for some reasons. For those who are telling why Solana, if not Solana, what project do you think Visa needs to be partnering with, and why?
924  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: September 08, 2023, 04:01:51 AM
I can't believe I'm saying this but I will leave this campaign, BestChange is not just a signature campaign for me I consider them a part of my family and always respect them, I've been in this campaign for over 3 years,

So you have been with BestChange for over three years? That is a long time. How do people find this type of campaign that lasts this long? Do they know of it from the beginning or it is only pure luck?
Luck.

After all, we don't know when Bestchange campaign will last, same with all of the other campaigns out there whether those mixers, casinos out there. Just look at Chipmixer. Who would've expect that the campaign will just stop out of nowhere after running way longer than Bestchange.  I don't know for some, but it's all luck for me.

Reason why many fail for scam is because they are looking for investment instead of just holding Bitcoin and wait for it value to appreciate organically,  there is no doubt that DCA approach is good but then also if a newbie os not careful you could lose along the line of DCA so DCA is out of this discussion,  but let dive into something more realistic taking recent happenings with so many investment scam,  exchanges ditching off their clients money and so many other scam projects platform and signals that are notable bad actors in the market.

To avoid all this,  it become paramount to only abide by one rules which is to keep Bitcoin in your wallet and stop looking for investment that are centralized to reduce your risk.
I'm looking for another investment because Bitcoin isn't the only asset out there where we need to invest our money. Why pinpoint people who are looking for another opportunities?
I look for another opportunity because I believe I can gain still with other assets. The problem isn't with with looking with other investment, but the ignorance of the investors.

You said that investors are getting scammed because they are looking for an investment? Investors are getting scammed because they're ignorant, they have 0 knowledge. It isn't the "looking for opportunities" that's the problem here, but the ignorance is. This is why we have a thing called "diversification". Bitcoin isn't the only asset out there take note of that. There's many assets where we can invest our money with. DCA approach is good no doubt to that because I've been doing that as well. I just don't like the fact that you're saying that investors are getting scammed because they're looking for another opportunity well in fact, we can just focus on Bitcoin, and just hodl it.

"stop looking for investment that are centralized." I don't know if you're only pertaining to cryptocurrency on this one, but if you're talking about all the other assets, I beg to disagree with this one. How about the Stock Market? So you're saying that we're avoiding it because it's centralized? If you're only talking to crypto then maybe that's applicable.
926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why newbie may find it difficult to rank up in this forum on: September 07, 2023, 08:27:09 AM
👉👉They are in the forum for bounty only
Bounty gives little money when compared to money made from signatures after been rank up. Even some high ranked members in the forum believe bounty is a waste of time as some pay little money or not even pay at all. Believing in bounty alone may not give you time to work on how to build your profile in the forum.
The main reason why newbies are here. They're in for the money, and not for the knowledge. They don't care about the information that these high-ranked members are sharing. They don't f*cking care about what the experts here are sharing. What they care only is the money that they can get thru joining bounty campaigns. Well, anybody can join into these bounty campaigns so... yeah I guess there's no solution to this one... or we don't need to solve this because it isn't a problem at first place.

👉👉Not ready to learn
Learning is a process, the more you learn, the more you know. The more you  know, the more you can assist others. The more you assist others with your post, the more you rank up your profile.
Knowledge is power. A simple quote, but a very powerful thing. I guess there's no need for a further explanation to this one because a kid can understand this one.

👉👉To busy to read
Reading is very important in learning process. Most of this people find it difficult to read important post that could help them rank up. All they put their efforts on is bounty. Some don't even read the rules of the bounty they are joining, they just join as they see it. These group of people are seen to later ask questions which has already be post on bounty thread from bounty manager in the bounty telegram group. Reading good post will help you in the following ways:
     ✅Teach you new things
✅Broading your knowledge about what you already know
✅Teach you how to write good post
✅Familiarize you with the forum rules and regulations.
TBH, I have a family who are I considered as "Bookworm" where they're spending many hours reading books, and they taught me that as well, but as I grow up, I find myself that I see myself getting bored if I want to learn thru reading only. What did I do? I did watch educational videos aside from reading as well. Now I don't read that much anymore, and I'm more into watching videos. I'm only reading posts here, but when it comes to information, or knowledge, I always go to Youtube. Of course I know which videos I will watch. Tongue

👉👉Staying away from the rules and regulations of the forum
Ignorance kills easily. Forum rules should be the first thing to read and get familiarize with by all newbies. These will enable them to stay long in the forum without violating the rules and regulations of the forum.
Ignorance really make people insane especially those people who got scammed because they didn't made their own research before investing. Ignorance is the reason why there are many investors who are getting scammed, and the scammers are taking advantage of the ignorance of these newbie investors.
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 07, 2023, 07:55:12 AM
Cryptocurrency:
~
As you wish. But in crypto, the price can swing at any time because any good or bad news is able to change the game.
The fact that the price can swing anytime is the reason why many people wanted to invest into crypto.
Volatility = money. That's the principle of those investors who wanted to earn money in the shortest amount of time possible. More volatility, more profit, but at the same time more losses.

Real-estate:
~
They make money when the value of the money over time increases.  Real estate provides us with a physical asset that can provide us security and stability as compared to cryptocurrency. Real estate property has high potential as compared to crypto to increase its value after a period of time.
Aside from the land appreciation overtime, real estate owners can also earn from rental income. They build a house on their property, and let the tenants live on their house.

Real estate has a higher potential to increase compare to crypto? I don't think so. A quick google search, and I saw that the average price appreciation of a real estate is around 14%. Compare it to crypto where it's price can double or triple in just a single year. Of course this isn't consistent, and we might see both assets go down in price as well.

Which one do you prefer?
Both.

One is more secure one is more profitable. Every investor wans profits, but I'm the type of investor who balances both security, and profitability when it comes to investing. If given the opportunity, I'll invest into both... or I'm investing in both already, but mine's on REITS, which is another form of stock from a company. Smiley
928  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Seeking Passive income offer with low risk on: September 07, 2023, 07:33:42 AM
~
I've been searching for an opportunity that will enable me to earn extra income to keep me afloat in anticipation of the bull run, but I've always hit a roadblock due to several reasons like low APYs, dicey processes, and high risk, etc. I'm more conservative with finances, so I would appreciate any suggestions on a passive income offer or product with low risk. Preferably, my capital would be protected, and the potential for growth would work well for me.
I would like to suggest lending, but over the years, the popularity of those platforms who are offering an X amount of annual interest in exchange of lending your money has declined massively already.

Staking is what I'm doing right now, and for sure many here are also doing. I will not define what staking is as there's many videos on Youtube that explain what staking is. Since most of my coins can be staked (aside from Bitcoin), I'm just putting into staking platforms, and I just let it stay there, and in exchange, I'm earning coins on a monthly basis. Well, it wasn't as high, but earning tokens by doing nothing is better than just letting your coins not multiply.

Staking Ethereum would I think the lowest risk that you can do. The APY isn't as high because the risk is low, but you can assure that the amount of Ethereum that you will have will be more after a year. The only thing that you can't prevent is impermanent loss especially if the price of it goes down like what happened last year.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 07, 2023, 06:38:23 AM
With the Harden drama hanging over the Sixers, Embiid has come forward to say that he plans to stay in Philly no matter what happens with Harden. That seems like a positive development for them. They also signed Danny Green to bring him back to Philly, where I assume he will retire as he spent plenty of years there.
For this season, he will stay for sure.
Next season? Will he still stay with Philly? We know that anything can happen in an instant especially with trades that involves superstars.

I wonder how will this drama with Harden affect the whole team. We know Embiid's capabilities already in the court, but who will be his second, and third scorer if Harden will really not play for the team? Maybe Maxey, and Harris as they are the 2nd, and 3rd scorer excluding Harden. I'm more curious on how will Harden be in the training camp. Will he go out there with a fat body again like when he's in the Rockets? Will he be the same as Simmons where he's training, but has a phone in his right hand? Will he not speak to his teammates? I mean I'm curious on how the Harden drama will turn out. Cheesy
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google New Policy: NFT Ads is allowed starting Sept. 15 on: September 07, 2023, 06:12:32 AM
I will not be surprised if I will see phishing sites that're related to NFT's after they start accepting NFT ads.
Google is not doing anything to prevent these phishing sites to go on top, and I know that we've seen so many sites at the top already especially sites that's related to cryptocurrencies.

Anyway, nothing surprising here knowing that the NFT hype is over already. All of the NFT's value right now went down significantly, and I don't almost hear them being spoke online. In the forum, nobody talks about it already unlike the time where it's hype. People here are always talking about NFT's, NFT's, and more NFT's. Now almost nobody is speaking about NFT's anymore. I don't know the exact reason why Google allowed NFT ads, but hey... it's a business, and they'll earn from it so... yeah.
931  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: September 06, 2023, 09:02:15 AM
Is it because there's no definitive rule here for AI-generated text? No one cares lol. I have been observing one member for the last few days though I have only found one likely AI-generated text. If we look closely, we will find more and I'm sure it's going to be more overwhelming in the coming days.
I can't remember if there's a thread for discussion on rules for such cases. It would be great if there was a ban rule or minimum punishment.

You can start a topic in Meta with a proposal of a new rule. But there's a trick: sometimes AI detectors can give false positive results so we have to be sure somehow. As you can see we here try to have a verification from several AI detectors and for several posts to be sure it is not an occasional coinsidence.

There's another hint how to fight with AI users: what AI writes is often combined of different texts from Internet, so it is sometimes possible to detect these texts as plagiarism and to report them this way. It ends up with ban more often than after reporting their posts as AI spam.

If earlier I reported AI violators up to several a day, now as you can see I make it not so often, and others also. It's not because I don't report them, it's because some started hiding better, but majority doesn't want to be tagged for AI usage and there's less cases. So it works.
That's the problem with these AI detecting websites.

There are many websites, but not all of them have high accuracy. I don't know when was the last time that I tried to put one of my posts in one of these AI detecting websites, and to my surprise, it showed that I used AI on that post where in fact, I'm not, and will not use it just to make a better post here.

This might be also the reason why our admins here in the forum can't make a rule with regards to users using AI... for now because I believe that as AI will be widely used, more AI detecting websites with a higher accuracy will rise as well. It will happen in the future I guess, but overall, the least that these AI-busters can give to the users that are using AI to have a better post is a neutral trust.
932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 06, 2023, 07:02:58 AM
~
So do you think that I'm correct about bitcoin, that it is not an easy way to get rich quick as some people will make believe, and it is just like other ventures where there is no guarantee of getting rich?
The term "rich-quick" is already being included when they are telling about Bitcoin. I'm not saying that all are integrating that phrase with Bitcoin, but there are some who are misleading these newbies, telling that you can get rich in a faster way if you invest into Bitcoin. This is the reason why many people over the years are losing money.

Who said to you that Bitcoin is a get rich quick type of asset? When you hear the word "guarantee" and other words that has the same definition as that word, stay out of it. In investing, there's no guarantee whether it's crypto, stock market or whatever it is. In Bitcoin, there isn't any guarantee that you will get rich whatsoever. Yes you might earn profits in the long run, but that isn't guaranteed as well.

So to answer your question, you're right that Bitcoin isn't a get rich quick, and only newbies believe in that thing, and at the same time, Bitcoin isn't the type of asset where you can guarantee when that you will get rich when you invest into it, and in fact, no asset can guarantee that you can get rich by investing into it.
933  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammers Claiming To Refund Users affected By the Stake Hack on: September 06, 2023, 06:21:18 AM

Curious in how they are going to scam when it has to be refunded on their stake account. It would be dumbed if they believe it will be sent to a particular wallet they want.

Stake already guaranteed funds are safe. If that fake account asks something from a claimant then its obviously a scam already anyone with common sense will know.
There are only 2 types of people who will fall to this type of scam.
1. Those ignorant people who aren't updated yet on what happened to Stake.
2. Lazy people who don't even have the time to make some quick research on what happened with Stake.

Overall, I believe that we are all intelligent people here, and we will not fall into this type of scam attempt. On the other hand, I feel bad for those who already fell for this scam. I just hope that they will learn from this. Is there any way for X (twitter) to prevent this type of scams on their platform? Hmmm.
934  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 06, 2023, 05:46:01 AM
What is the best investment, in your opinion? To use this money to pay for your education, so you can conclude a superior course and achieve a higher degree, having access to a wide jobs' market, or to use that money to acquire an apartment, house or piece of land, so you can make a passive income from this?

It brings the following question up: what is more valued in life: to be or to have? Does it make someone fulfilled to have while not being or being without having anything?
TBH, it's very subjective question, and for sure, users here have different perspective when it comes to this topic.

There will be some who wanted to finish their school, and graduate from college so that they can secure themselves for many years to come thru having a stable job because what we believe is that, if you finish college, you will have a higher chance of getting a job as most of the companies are hiring college graduates. On the other hand, there are some people here who prefer doing business thus, acquiring an apartment/s, refurnishing it, then advertise it online, so they can get passive income thru rental income.

What will I choose between the 2? TBH it's hard, but I'm the kind of guy that don't value education that much. I've seen many people who didn't graduate from college, but now are successful in their life. I've seen people who are only graduated from secondary, but became rich. In terms of success in life, knowing how to multiply your money is far better than finishing your education. There are little to no schools out there who are teaching financial education to their students, and I believe that if you know how to handle money, you will be successful in life.

I don't disvaluing degree, because I still believe that it's still essential to one's life, but I'd rather have a money, then buy something and have a passive income from it, than spending too much money studying, and in the end, your chances of getting a job and earn is slim.

At the end of it, it will all depend on how knowledgeable a particular person is.

A person who don't know anything about Bitcoin will really see it as a risky asset. A person tend to see Bitcoin as a risky asset at first when they first hear or learn it, but overtime, if they will try to learn it, research on it, and be interested on it, they will realize that it isn't as risky as they think at first place.

TBH, I saw Bitcoin as a bad asset when I was a newbie. It being volatile, and me being a newbie is a perfect recipe for that kind of mindset, but my curiosity got me. I did some research, and found out that it wasn't that risky at all as long as you know what you're doing. Overall, Bitcoin is risky only for people who have little to knowledge to it, and vice-versa.

Aside from Youtube where I always watch documentaries regarding Bitcoin, reading some threads here in the forum really helped me as well. 936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 06, 2023, 03:26:34 AM
I saw TMZ reporting over the holiday weekend that Draymond Green slapped a bartender at a Los Angeles restaurant after the bartender had some nasty comments to say to LeBron James. This resulted in Draymond being arrested (allegedly?). I haven’t seen this making the news rounds so maybe it isn’t true? If it is true, I wonder if Draymond will be starting the year suspended.
I did a quick search and base on this article: https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/fact-check-has-draymond-green-arrested-viral-lebron-james-disrespect-video-debunked
Quote
However, the report is untrue and came from a parody account posing as a popular NBA news account.

'The Hoop Centrol,' is the account that posted the video, which doesn't show Green's face and is filmed some distance away. The account is in close likeness to 'The Hoops Central,' which has 1.2 million followers on the popular social media platform.
It's a poser account, and the news is untrue.

The Lakers have signed forward Christian Wood to a 2 year deal. Christian had a decent year last year averaging 16 & 7. I’m not sure how he’ll fit into the lineup but maybe he’s a little extra insurance in case something happens to Anthony Davis. Wood did dominate the Lakers in the Christmas game last year…
I remember his time in the Rockets where he's their leading scorer, but a bit underappreciated at that time. Many expected that him and Doncic will have a good combination knowing how good they are, but it didn't happen. Anyway, Wood as the bench big for the Lakers? I guess it'll work if only he will play on the bench. Let's face the fact that there are still doubts on Davis with regards to his injury-prone problem, so having a reserved center to sub him when he's injured is always a good thing for the team.

Kudos to the Lakers management for making better decisions now since that Westbrook problem. Getting players such as Rui, Russell, Beasley, resigning Reaves, and now getting a reliable bench big in Wood. Now they are making Le-GM happy. Cheesy

Is Gala still a good investment or not anymore? See link below

https://beincrypto.com/gala-games-legal-dispute/
Gala is a blockchain gaming ecosystem base on Coingecko. Are blockchain gaming becoming popular right now? No they aren't. The hype around it is over. Even the most famous blockchain gaming which is Axie Infinity already lost it's users. Though I can still see some blockchain games that are still up, I don't think that they're that popular until now.

Add the fact that the developers are facing a legal dispute, both of the things are a recipe for disaster for the project. I will not be surprised if this coin will just go down even further, and even though they win on that legal dispute, I don't think that the project will recover. The only way for them to recover is when the bull market starts.

Is it a good investment? No for me. As much as I want to put my money into blockchain gaming tokens, I believe that there are far better altcoins out there that are worth to invest my money with.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 05, 2023, 12:20:42 PM
You are correct, but you just have to imagine the impact of that statement though. If you look at it, Giannis says that it's no longer loyalty for him, but championships that is every important.

And with that, the Bucks management should be nervous by know. If by chance they didn't do well this season, most likely Giannis might be thinking of joining other teams to quest for more rings in his fingers.
Also add the fact that they fired Coach Budenholzer where at that time, having a hard time coping up with his lost relative (I think it's his brother) a few days before Game 4, and now they have a new coach in AJ Griffin.

I'm not underestimating the capabilities of Coach Griffin because he's been an assistant coach for some time, but the fact that he's coaching an all-star who wants a championship right here, right now adds to the pressure for him. Well, we've seen coaches like Ty Lue, and Steve Kerr who won their first title in their rookie season as a head coach.

I'm curious now because, as far as I know, Giannis was rumored not to re-sign with the Bucks once he becomes a free agent. So, why are we discussing a possible trade here? I also gave my opinion about the potential trade, but now I realize that, is the trade really going to happen?

Since there are no trade rumors, all the discussions about which team could potentially land Giannis and which players would be exchanged for him don't make sense.

Perhaps the more appropriate discussion is which team could potentially sign Giannis in the upcoming offseason.
When he will be a free agent? Not next year, but the year after.

After this season, he will have a player option. He can opt out on it, then find another team, or stay with the Bucks, and opt in. It will all depend on their performance this upcoming season.

Is the trade really going to happen? Not this season, but after the season depending on the performance of the team. Well, like you said, there will be no trades that're happening this upcoming season, so I guess it's too early to tell which teams he will land. It's just that, the statement that he just said to the media is that powerful that many teams are interested in him already even though he isn't eligible to be traded... for now.

Re: Are you risking investment in other things?
None.

I mean I can risk everything, but why should I risk it? What if that money that I risked, and invested into Bitcoin will be needed in the future? I can sell everything, but I don't want to. I know it's a conservative way of investing, and I might miss some opportunities along the way, but that would be better for me than putting myself into stress mode, keeping myself thinking if Bitcoin will go down a few months from now, where will I get that money that I risked in.

I know that there are risks when it comes to investing, but risking the things that aren't necessarily needed to be risked is something that I will not do, and I will not recommend anybody doing it as well. Just invest the money that you think you will not be needing in a few months. No need to sell everything that you have just to buy Bitcoin for the upcoming bull market.

On the other hand, September is the worst month to invest in the stock market. It has the worst average returns, with the value of stocks taking a nose-dive that period.
Also look at this picture coming from: https://bitcoinmonthlyreturn.com/

Looking at the 2 things that I shared, it seems like the bearish trend will continue for the month of September. Just looking on the picture alone, out of the 12 years, only 4 of them are in blue meaning Bitcoin ended the month of September with a green candle. Another one is that, Bitcoin has been down in the month of September for 6 straight years, so most likely we might see Bitcoin on an another red candle this month.

Of course, anything can still happen and we might see the streak getting broken we don't know, but I watched a video a few years back telling that the last 3 months of the year are often bullish for the Stock market, and includes the crypto market because the price movement are kind of the same, so after this month, we might see Bitcoin's price starting to go up at the start of October. Just be patient guys. Smiley
