921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 15, 2020, 11:55:44 PM
Ponzi investments aren't even close to gambling. It's like saying that you'll gamble by trying to steal money from someone and hope they won't notice or at least won't call the police. If you can get away with it it's a win, so you've just gambled, haven't you? I agree with the others that it's not a very smart way to risk your money. If you lose you feed scammers. At least if you lose in a casino you allow the business owner to earn. By sending money to scammers you encourage them.
Yeah. The risk might be the good term here since the Ponzi scheme isn't similar to gambling. Well, actually both have risk but gamblers don't deal with any Ponzi scheme 'cause probably they know it's a scam. Also, Ponzi scheme isn't a game where you bet your money and won by the means of choosing. In Ponzi, you need full effort to gain users under you to earn more profit but if you failed on that task, you'll just give free money to the ones who created the scheme. So I'm still wondering how ponzi is related to gambling?
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: November 15, 2020, 11:29:25 PM
Most of the people states that gambling is form of entertainment but the reality is different gambling is like business where people look to make more money from investing little money but most of them will get failed.

So in your view gambling is business or entertainment, answer honestly. Cheesy
All entertainment is business of some people, take note of that. In our perspective, the consumer of this entertainment, we are being entertained by the product or things they're offering to us. But from the perspective of the owner, it's a business where he creates a huge amount of money because of entertainment. Gambling should be always entertainment, that's the mindset we should apply to ourselves to avoid losing a lot of money and don't get addicted to it.
923  Economy / Economics / Re: Hoping that its the end of corona virus on: November 15, 2020, 11:02:49 PM
The new vaccine by Pfizer and biontech looks really promising. With a 90% immunity it could really be the breakthrough we desperately need. The government already ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine and with grown people needing 2 shots it would mean that around 65-70% of the population could be vaccined. The only thing I am scared of is the side effects, there is not much information available yet.

One study has shown it to be 90% effective, but it still hasn't been shown to be safe.  Those are two separate issues, and the latter is what is still yet to be reviewed before it can be submitted to the FDA for approval.  Plenty of drugs have been derailed because they were effective but not safe for human consumption due to side effects.
There are plenty of vaccines that can definitely protect your body from the virus but it's not guaranteed that it has no side effects. They should implement more trials before using it in the people, we aren't sure of it yet. If this is 100% safe, then it might the solution for our world to recover and go back to normal. The economy of different nations will also recover.
924  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: November 15, 2020, 10:11:54 PM
In Reality university dont give much knowledge.
Those people who are booksmart dont undestood much!

Those who have real experinces and real knowledge only counts!
Im against to education becouse I seen those people and I think most of them are really dumb.

I respect people who have real experinces in Everything in life!!
The most experinced people are most often in Everything the taxy drivers.
Its always Pleasure to talk with them you can really see that they been Through in things and they really know about a lot topics.

So the school education is only good to learn abc Numbers% calculations Everything Else is most likeky crap
University won't give you all the knowledge but it will help you to learn those by your own mind. If you thought university is where they spoonfed every information to you, you're wrong. They give you all the foundation you must learn in order to master a specific course. It's kinda offending for those who have been through a lot of exams, projects and who passed the boards just to get a good job. Also, you can be knowledgeable and get many experiences, that will make you a successful person.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling could be used to pay for covid problems on: November 15, 2020, 12:36:49 PM
Casinos are booming at the time of pandemic so there's no downside for this since it can help people and it's beneficial to the economy also since for now the economic state is not really good and it's good to have a certain outlet where the government can take funds to use to fight the pandemic as well for the other things that needed to take care. And there's nothing wrong with regulation since if the casino is regulated the gamblers can assure that they are safety.

In terms of our country, I think there will be a negative result to this and this will be taken by the people as an insult since they think that our national government is not handling the funds that well. A lot of projects got cancelled is with the current issues and situations our country is facing, people are trying to point it all out that the government are the ones at fault why things are worsening so, yeah, there is that.
Then maybe the government is really at the fault of this situation why is this happening. At first, people will not think that as an insult if the government is really doing its purpose to support the citizen and develop the country. If some organization is ahead of the government when it comes to donation and response during emergencies, then maybe there's wrong with the government.

Casinos are obviously a good help to the economy of each country since it's one of the businesses where continuous profit is happening. Many people are wasting money to have fun and to be entertained, and our country will benefit from it in terms of taxes.
926  Other / Off-topic / Re: Electricity, Internet and Mobile Network on: November 15, 2020, 11:52:47 AM
To have EASY access to all things, we should rely on those things you've mentioned such as electricity, internet, devices and more. But when it comes to typhoons and earthquakes, it can definitely destroy those when occur that's why we should be more ready and develop our technology until it became uninterruptable. In that case, we can have continuous communications in emergencies and we can call for rescue even there's an interruption. We should learn that natural disaster is unstoppable and the only thing we can do is be ready or develop the things and protocols in order to survive. Now, this thread of yours will serve as a lesson to those who didn't experience yet how it feels to be stranded without those things we rely most on.

Plagiarism.
Maybe OP didn't mean to plagiarize those, he should've quoted those descriptions he copied. Anyways, if OP read this and you are not aware of what is plagiarism, you should act fast as people might report your thread.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: November 15, 2020, 11:23:50 AM
I don't know why you always say that bitcoin will replace oil and gold wherein fact they have all different in utility. Oil is using in transportation and gold is for luxury. Bitcoin can surpass them in prices but it won't never be replaced their utility. Stop comparing three different things because they are all usable for their use.

Utility wise everything has a different use and that is why it will continue to exist. Only thing when it comes to as a investment so the allocation among three what was previously will change and many would invest more in bitcoin than having gold as returns are better in bitcoin. Though risk as well exists but you are rewarded accordingly .
Agree, people have different preferences and things have different functions. We shouldn't compare things that are completely different, it's just a competition of a mainstream asset and both are growing. Gold have guaranteed profit as you wait for the price increase while bitcoin depends on the market, and sometimes can't predict due to volatility but can give you huge profit also for investing on the right time.
928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs more women. on: November 14, 2020, 07:47:59 PM
Well, there are women in the crypto and blockchain industry, I doubt that only a few of them know cryptocurrency. Also, we have preferences and there are particular courses where women like such as tourism and accountancy. I'm encouraging my loved ones to invest in cryptocurrency and learn more about it but they aren't interested. The crypto community doesn't need women, it needs more users that will trust its potential and besides, there are plenty of women are already in the crypto industry, maybe they're shy to show themselves or don't want to talk about it in public, one of the characteristics of women.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 14, 2020, 06:33:19 PM
I'm considering to possibly add Bitcoin and other altcoins as a way to pay for goods purchased on my online store.

Is this a good idea? Are there any risks (other than the volatility)?

Is anyone really going to use this?

I'm afraid that my customers may not be much into cryptos, but I guess that it's hard to tell until you try ...
I also have some doubts on the technical side.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance
of course, problems will always arise, now it remains how you prepare risk management...
accepting payments with cryptocurrency will definitely not always be smooth, apart from the volatility of technical matters such as processing time for transactions or even the internet network or bugs will definitely be problems that will be encountered frequently, but I support you to add Bitcoin and Altcoin payment options to your online shop.
Yah agree that's why cryptocurrency should be an alternative payment only, not the main payment method because if circumstances like loss of connection occur, it might affect the business. The business should accept fiat as the main currency in his shop while cryptocurrency will act as secondary for those who want to spend their bitcoin on the shop. Problems and maintenance are common in business, we're not always smooth sailing in life, that's why you should have your own protocol when you put this kind of method, so you can manage even there's an error.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ether Wallet Scam on: November 12, 2020, 03:54:23 AM
Google accounts are now easy to compromise so it's not better to save any private keys in a google account or any online platform. Don't the security protocols of any online platform, anyone can be hacked right now especially when you don't have 2fa or any additional securities on your account.

If you really want to keep it safe, I suggest to go offline and save those private keys manually written or printed on paper.
931  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: My Plan if ever happens again ATH on: November 12, 2020, 03:08:27 AM
For me, siguro ibebenta ko nalang din lahat once na malagpasan yung ATH. Last 2017 kasi, unti lang din ang naipundar kong profit dahil puro altcoins lang ang meron ako non dati kaya gusto kong bumawi this time. Di naman ako hardcore na trader at need ko rin ng profit for my review so ayun, I'll guess ibebenta ko fully then bibili nalang ulit incase na bumaba ulit ang cryptocurrency next year. Hindi na ako manghihinayang if nag-exceed lalo ang price value ng cryptocurrency dahil nakapag-ipon na rin from $5k pa value until now.

Natuto naman na tayo nung bull run 2017, kaya may iba iba tayong way kung paano natin ihahandle ang BTC especially right now, pandemic at may bagyo pa. We need income para lang maka-survive ngayong taon dahil sobrang lala ng mga nangyayari this year, yung profit ko sa BTC, yun nalang makakapagsalba.
932  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Nico David "bitaccelerate" SCAM review on: November 12, 2020, 01:38:23 AM
I watched him and nakakatuwa lang na bigla siyang nag-upload ng video about cryptocurrency. I read a lot on the comments at madaming interesadong malaman kung ano nga ba ang cryptocurrency kasi ang mga naibigay na info ni Nico David is just the basic one. Hindi niya pa masyadong na-eexplain yung sa blockchain part which plays a great part in crypto. Kaya gusto ko rin mag-message kay idol para magbigay ng key points for his next review about cryptocurrency at makapagbigay ng magandang information sa ating mga kababayan. I really appreciate that he even searched some key points like the creator of bitcoin and yung different altcoins.

If you searched about bitaccelerate, nasa top ranking na yung video niya about it kaya pwede siyang pagtuunan ng pansin ng mga pasimuno nun.

935  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can A Chrome app be a malwware and steal your private keys? on: November 09, 2020, 10:54:43 AM
Dude, it's a wrong move that you're putting private keys online. Imagine if all of your accounts got hacked by some anonymous hackers and they've noticed that there are private keys stored in Gmail, probably they will steal it. We can't say that it's safe because there are different ways of hijacking or hacking a specific account especially if hackers knew it stores valuable coins. The only thing you should do is be careful and don't disclose any information about where did you store your private keys.

We have same method of storing private key. LOL. Anything stored online can be hack and that's the cons of the cloud storage. But if we think about it, Everywhere we store it can be steal or destroy, It's either physically or virtually. So for safety precautions, Just encrypt your private key before you store it on Gmail if you really want to put it there.
Even putting encryption on private keys, it's gonna be easy to decrypt it especially when you're using free software for encryption.
936  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to reach $17k? on: November 09, 2020, 08:11:01 AM
Yes, it might be possible. The price keeps resisting recently, and now the current price is $15k which is closer to $17k. It's early November and there is plenty of time for bitcoin to resist until new ATH met this year 2020. However, the current is very unstable due to volatility but it doesn't matter as long as the momentum of increasing is still there.

$17k is possible next few weeks since bitcoin has already resisted the $16k recently.

I remember a thread about this, last 2 months ago where BTC can possibly reach $17k or fell down to $9k.—Bitcoin can fall up to $9k or rise up to $17k - which one will happen.
937  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Vlogs on how to earn in Bitcointalk on: November 09, 2020, 07:45:50 AM
So the introduction should be all about ideas and knowledge, bonus nalang dapat ang profit na pwede mong maipon sa forum kasi parang side quest lang siya as you stay here in the forum.

Once you have started on that mindset na kumikita ka ng pera sa forum, you'll focus on the earnings at hindi mo na ivavalue yung concepts kaya pati way of posting mo, magiging shitposting or non-sense statements.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 09, 2020, 04:12:46 AM
I guess this will be the biggest lose(at the moment) on political betting.  I remember reading on an article that the gambler was confident and going all-in on betting on trump after consulting a trump camp insider. I wonder how he feels right now or does the gambler blame anyone for this loss. I'll be looking forward on 2024 there already rumors saying that trump is considering presidency again.

That was a wrong move if they will only rely on information coming from Trump's camp?

What would they expect? of course people working on the Trump camp would say Trump will win, even now that Biden was already a clear winner, haven't read a statement yet that Trump already conceded.

There's no information yet as Trump still considering legal action after this, He still not conceding taking all possible resort to contest this election result.

Not easy for the outgoing president that he's losing his opportunities to serve the country again, but it's clearly being voted by the people and after the counting Biden defeated him.

but what does that mean? not that I am against or supports him. I am just curious. does Trump still have a chance of winning? or it is just prolonging his stay as a president? American politics sure is complicated.
He is trying to investigate many states where Biden won because he believes that people are cheating to push him out of his chair. This does not prolong his current presidential status. This Incumbent president will continue to serve the country until 20st January, 2021.

However, there is still a small chance that he can be successful in filing lawsuits against the Democracy and Biden. He is focusing all of his efforts and it is certain that his supporting team will do it as well. Right now, I just want to congratulate Biden for his win no matter what the future results might be. He is now winning the Presidential title with most vote ever. 75,215,986 votes is an outstanding number

$5-million is a huge amount of money. I hope that this retired banker understands how to overcome his loss. I feel sorry for him.
Every election happening, the losing side will be shocked that they didn't win and will end up investigating the other side because of winning. That's why politics is very dirty, we aren't sure if Biden's side did really cheat but Trump's side is assuming they did cheat in the election in order to win and be the next president. This isn't an exclusive case in their country, actually, it also happens in a different part of the world, where politicians can't accept defeat.

I just realized that $5 million can already be fed those people who are poor since we're on the pandemic, I hoped he uses it in donation than using for a bet. But I can't blame him for doing that, he purposedly bet a huge amount for his own entertainment but hoping that he has a lot of money, so he can't be depressed on such a huge loss.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 09, 2020, 03:37:37 AM
I believe that most of us are losing money in sports betting, but I'd like to know based on what you read and your experience (if you have) the reasons why we are losing. Personally, I've been gambling for years, I'm just an ordinary gambler who can't be too serious with gambling, but I can't deny that I have been losing money more than I win.
Maybe because we are rooting for the team that we like the most, that's why there are low chances of winning. Our preferences for betting in sports should be a high standard like they're dominating the whole league and confident in playing. If we are having a losing streak, there's a mentality that you want to recover those losses and ending up in the same situation, lose again. Sports betting is one of the difficult in gambling, all of the players are professional in the league, they can manipulate the scores if they want to, that's why even if we bet on the best, still loses.
940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Promote constructive criticism when doing posts or replies, on: November 08, 2020, 05:56:35 PM
I think we members of the community should approach a reply in a nice way not just by being rude especially to newbies, in a motivational way wherein they will be encouraged not discouraged, let's be honest but some of us reply to a post in some way rude, remember that when we are like them, we did the same mistake and some teach us what to do in a nice way, the point here is that no matter if he or she is a newbie I think we approach everything in a nice way because we make an impact on what we say, it will affect a person if we are rude, I'm not saying that it's bad but we don't know if they have other battles
I'm always correcting if I think there's something wrong with their statement, constructive criticism is a must on this forum. Being rude is a wrong thing, I don't want to be rude to those who make mistakes since I've been in that position when I'm starting in this forum. Also, to the other side, they should also accept if someone is giving criticism on their statements, they should think that they've said something wrong or offending to someone.

True, and I gave constructive criticism to only those who I felt need it, not to those users who are just shit posting, I tend to ignore them. We all know how a post looks when its just shit post. I also believe that for a constructive post to be seen as a constructive one, it should be written with respect and with zero disrespectful and sarcastic tone, just pure constructive criticism.  I've seen a lot of users replying a good post with 100% hate after correcting the OP, it won't feel good specially if the OP is newbie and just starting to learn about the thing. We can always reply with sincerity and knowledge without the stinky attitude.
Same goes with me, I don't give attention to those post that doesn't make sense. More likely a waste of time if I gave criticism to those post who aren't really valuable.
