961  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Currency Cartoon - Crypto Zoo on: January 15, 2019, 10:45:03 AM
I will take this into account and when everything is finished I will go back and fix up some of the lines. Have you seen the video? I posted a link in the OP. It is just to show how the scenes will actually flow.

Yeah I checked out the video and it works better than I expected.
I don't know but the lines don't seem too thin on video, it's definitely not hard/annoying to watch it like that.

Now I'm curious about the finished video!
962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: would u open a loan to buy the dip? on: January 14, 2019, 12:19:17 PM
I would personally feel ashamed to even ask that question.
I know this horse has been beaten to death already, but I can help but reiterate that it's an amazingly bad idea.

Firstly, you would have to go with a personal loan, which has some of the highest interest rates.
While you're waiting for Bitcoin to rise, you're already making payments for that loan.

Do you really think that you could just wait a couple of months for the price to rise?
For all you know, you could be waiting for a year...
963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First fully-licensed and provably fair online casino - EOSBet on: January 14, 2019, 10:56:59 AM
That's some misleading advertising you have. When I saw the title "First fully-licensed and provably fair online casino", I thought you had managed to acquire a license in a country where it's difficult to obtain one.
Then I read the Medium article and see that you have one in Curaçao :-/

There are literally dozens of cryptocurrency casinos with a license there and it's not really hard to obtain one.
964  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Games Survey on: January 14, 2019, 10:19:00 AM
Quote
1) Have you ever played crypto games (ex. Cryptokitties, Cryptocountries) ?
Yes I've played Steem Monsters, a trading card game on the Steem blockchain

Quote
2) If have you played please write some points you like and you don't like in this games?
I like how the cards generally increase in value and how the fighting mechanics work.

Quote
3) Will you join interesting crypto game today when eth price is 130-160$?
I've not played games on the ETH blockchain

Quote
3) How do you think is it interesting not only to trade and collect cards in crypto collectibles but also CREATE it with your own hands? (Our point of view that every collectible game create cards with their own and users play with it. We want to let everyone create whatever you want.) What do you think about it?
No, I don't really care too much about creating my own cards. Too much effort IMO.

Quote
4) How did you get info about crypto games you played?
It was heavily advertised on Steemit and I've also joined their Kickstarter campaignb, which was hugely successful.

Quote
5) Do you want to join first users of new crypto game absolutely for free and help us to test the product?
Maybe, that really depends on the game I think. I definitely wouldn't pay for something that had a small player-base though.
965  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐Crypto-Games.net ⭐4 Years Old ⭐LARGEST wagering contest⭐25% referral commission on: January 14, 2019, 10:03:00 AM
Dang, yesterday I was pretty close on hitting the roulette jackpot with three rolls of 7 in a row.
I hope I'll get it at least once in 2019, I've been trying to get it for almost a year now Tongue
966  Other / Meta / Re: How many topics will Jet Cash start in Meta in 2019? on: January 13, 2019, 11:51:01 AM
Just give the guy his own board, call it the Jet Cash Plaza and let him post hundreds of topics there Wink

I'm just kidding of course, I don't mind his topics too much, since they do not really strike me as being bad, repetitive topics.
Jet Cash isn't a part of a signature campaign, which indicates that he just really loves the forum.

Can't blame him for being active, even if it's 'overly' active Tongue
967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin related cartoon on: January 11, 2019, 11:54:17 PM
Okay, the graphics actually work quite well. (see my comment on your thread in Project development)
Now I'm really curious what sort of audio you're going to add to it.

Definitely enjoy this type of content, gave you your first like on the video Tongue
968  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Currency Cartoon - Crypto Zoo on: January 11, 2019, 09:10:31 PM
I wanted it to look like a sketch so I used the pencil, but if it is a problem and a lot of people recommend I not use it I will change it. To hard to go back and redraw like 100+ images. Yeah I am not sure, the point of it is not to be professional if that makes sense lol As you can already tell, I am not an artist. If this made money, I would obviously have to step up the art and so I would hire someone who can actually design the cartoon, and I would simply direct and write the episodes.

No problem at all, I mean the drawings do look good, it's really just the lines that are a bit thin.
I'm just wondering how it'll capture on video, but I reckon you've already done some testing in that regards, right?

I definitely didn't mean to discourage you or anything! Maybe just keep this in mind for your next project Wink
I'm sure this one will turn out great, even with some minor flaws...
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC Hard Fork and ETH and 51% attack hack questions? on: January 11, 2019, 08:03:53 PM
In the case of the 51% attack on ETC, the hackers were able to just purchase all of the hashpower needed through Nicehash.
There's a possibility that Dash could become the next POW coin for which such an attack is possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see another one in the near future.

970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to quit? Here's how on: January 11, 2019, 05:23:01 PM
Not sure what you are talking about. I guess its about quitting gambling. To be honest, its easier to write "How to quit gambling" then to do actually do it. You can't just "WANT" to quit and stop forever. There is a reason why it is addiction, you don't want to do it but you still do it.
You just can't go cold turkey when trying to quit. You will need some help. Better to take help from someone else regarding this matter.

Exactly, that's why I mentioned in my previous comment that you basically need professional help for that.
Most real addict simply aren't able to quit by themselves and these sorts of guides usually have the opposite effect.

They'll read something like this and think: Oh I can just quit by myself, I don't need professional help.

Then they'll just trick themselves into thinking it will get better, as long as they try hard enough.
Usually it's just not as simple as that.
971  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need help to create dapp on: January 11, 2019, 03:26:13 PM
Why exactly do you want to do this with a dApp? What are the benefits of doing this via a dApp versus just developing a regular mobile app?
I'd suggest looking for highly rated freelancers and let them develop this for you, if you have a budget for this of course.

I don't quite understand the 'scan' part. What would they be scanning exactly? Tickets for events?
972  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Opinions on bitdeer please on: January 11, 2019, 01:14:27 PM
@1Referee

In general, I completely agree with you, for most people it's not at all interesting to start mining.

That said, it could just be a fun hobby for some people.
It's nice to have a couple of miners laying around, just so you can test out mining for new coins for example.

Setting them up and earning a couple of coins is pretty fun, even if you're not getting any profit from it.
Especially when you're not paying too much for electricity, I have solar in my home and run two rigs I've built myself.

I have made some profit with it, but nothing to write home about. I just do it because it's fun.
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I LOST OVER 10 BTC IN GAMBLING IN 2018 on: January 11, 2019, 01:00:42 PM
I made a loss in 2018, how much exactly, I have no idea.
I reckon it's probably somewhere in the 0.30 BTC region, so not that much actually.

Though, I'm planning on taking another break from gambling the next couple of months after having lost a few too many times in the recent past Tongue
974  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic - 1.1 Million USD Stolen Through 51% attacks on: January 10, 2019, 11:54:37 PM
But the developer team of Ethereum Classic said that absolutely no 51% attack occurred. However, after having a double withdrawal order on January 5 on Coinbase, they proceeded to suspend the withdraw and deposit ETC. I think that happened 51% attacks

There's been some very misleading news about this. Cointelegraph actually edited one of their articles to say that there wasn't a 51% attack, just like you mentioned.
After that article was released, then the news came out about the double spends on Coinbase.

Here's an accurate timeline of the events, quite a shitshow really...
https://cointelegraph.com/news/crypto-exchange-gateio-confirms-51-attack-on-ethereum-classic-promises-refunds

I'm actually going to quote the article, just in case they change it again.

Quote
Researchers from crypto exchange Gate.io report they have confirmed that a 51 percent attack successfully occurred on the Ethereum Classic (ETC) blockchain. The company published an analysis of their findings Jan. 8.

Gate.io Research has published its analysis of ETC transactions on its platform during the alleged attack, claiming it has detected seven rollback transactions — four of which were reportedly conducted by the attacker, transferring a total of 54,200 ETC in total (worth $271,500 at press time).

Gate.io reports that the incident occurred over a period of 4 hours between 0:40 and 4:20 Jan.7, 2019 UTC, during which the transactions were normally confirmed on the blockchain and then subsequently invalidated after the malign network rollback. After providing details of three ETC addresses purportedly used by the attacker, Gate.io continues to explain:

“Gate.io's censor successfully blocked [the] attacker's transactions at the beginning and submitted them to [a] manual exam. Unfortunately, during the 51% attack, all the transactions looked valid and confirmed well on the blockchain. The examiner passed the transactions. It caused about 40k ETC loss due to this attack.”

Gate.io states it will compensate its users’ losses, stating “Gate.io will take all the loss for the users.” The exchange also advises other crypto trading platforms to block transactions stemming from the identified suspect addresses. The exchange also states it has raised its ETC transaction confirmation number to 500 and launched a more robust 51 percent detection security mechanism.

Today, Jan. 9, Chinese blockchain security firm Slow Mist also published a report also confirming a 51 percent attack and containing and the same rollback transactions reported by Gate.io.

As previously reported, several major crypto exchanges — United States-based Coinbase and Japanese exchanges bitFlyer and Coincheck — have have all temporarily suspended withdrawals and deposits of ETC as early as Jan. 5. The exchanges all reportedly moved to respond to unusual hashpower activity indicating a potential 51 percent attack, as well as Coinbase’s own findings of double spending and “chain reorganizations.”

The ETC dev team initially responded by refuting that a 51 percent attack had taken place, stating that double spends had not been detected. At the time, they claimed that majority control over the network’s hashrate was “most likely selfish mining,” attributable to the testing of new 1,400/Mh ethash machines by application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) manufacturer Linzhi.

As reported, a 51 percent attack can occur on blockchains that use a proof-of-work (PoW) algorithm, and essentially entails a user or group seizing control of the majority of mining power to monopolize control over the network. This, in particular, can allow the threat actor to reverse transactions with the view to double spend — by transacting crypto for fiat currency, and then rolling back the deed to recuperate the spent crypto, while pocketing the fiat.

While the theoretical risk of majority attacks exists, practically seizing control of a large hashrate blockchain is widely considered to be prohibitively expensive at present. The PoW-based Bitcoin blockchain has not to date been compromised by a hijack of the network’s hashrate, but some developers have nonetheless made the case for investigating potential PoW change.
975  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: January 10, 2019, 10:59:16 PM
@vod

Yeah, a couple of minutes after writing that reply, I was actually thinking that there's actually good reason to keep the list objective.
In the end, I actually agree with you to keep the list as is -- unmoderated.

I'll just make a mental note to myself in the future, to rank myself a place higher on the 'most merited' list Tongue
976  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Announcing BPIP - The Bitcointalk Public Information Project! on: January 10, 2019, 09:08:31 PM
I've noticed that there are merit abusers showing up in the rankings on BPIP.
Would there be some way to remove them?

Sure they might technically have those merits, but I personally think they pollute the rankings.

From 'Most Merited' rankings:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=911155
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2189580

They've been banned from Bitcointalk, so no reason to leave them in the stats, right?
977  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐Crypto-Games.net ⭐4 Years Old ⭐LARGEST wagering contest⭐25% referral commission on: January 10, 2019, 05:25:14 PM
Quick question, wouldn't it be advisable to temporarily disable ETC on Crypto-Games, due to the recent 51% attack?
Or isn't this needed, because the possible damages wouldn't be too great?

ETC withdrawals and deposits *are* disabled.

LOL - Didn't get the memo in that case Tongue

Just goes to show that I never use ETC to begin with.

979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much capital I need to be the House on: January 10, 2019, 03:45:37 PM
--snip--
Owning some shares of a gambling sites is the easiest way to become a house though its not that profitable but at least its hassle free and affordable. Bigger capital need in this kind of ambition, you can dig more on your goal but always set a goal that can be more reachable and possible, always be more realistic.

True, you have absolutely no control over the house-edge that that particular website has, so profits will be limited because of that.
Starting your own casino is very difficult these days, I'd say that the market is quite saturated and it would be very difficult to enter it.

Unless of course, you can offer something unique or have massive funds for marketing of course.
980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling sites can cheat you on: January 10, 2019, 03:35:34 PM
They can accuse for having multiple accounts and can freeze your account with funds in it,this is one of the recent way of scamming from gambling sites but not all the sites were doing are cheating actually some sites identifies the users abusing their terms and conditions that is why there were freezing their account.

Yeah it's very difficult to actually uncover that sort of scam.
If it's done by a generally trusted website, people will automatically just assume that the person reporting this sort of scam is just lying.

Especially if they're people who do not speak English very well, they just get accused of cheating, when in fact that's not necessarily the case.
